Radiotrophic
radiotrophic - adj. - (of fungi, according to a proposed theory) Using melanin to convert gamma radiation into chemical energy for growth.
deva/daeva/diva - n. - (English) A god in Vedic mythology, Hinduism and Buddhism. (Slovak) Maiden, lass. (Pali) Angel. (Latin) Female of divus “divine, divine one; notably a deified mortal”. (Zoroastrianism) A supernatural entity of disagreeable nature, described in the Gathas as "wrong gods", "false gods", or "gods that are (to be) rejected".
Negative energy isn't just competitive frustration, sirens aren't just aquatic songstresses, and creatures who've walked the world for time unmarked don't stay down. The Dazzlings are enterprising scavengers in a barren ecosystem, and they're not ready to give up their hand in this world's history by a long shot. Patiently, in the shadows, they grow.
(My attempt to answer every question I had about the Dazzlings, and to see how much worldbuilding I can get away with while remaining completely canon-compatible.)
