3- Had A Nightmare... (edited)

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Atlas was running for his life. A bunch of guys in black hoods were chasing after him in an endless dark alley and there wasn't anything he could do. Every time he screamed or yelled for help nothing would happen. The hooded demons were yelling things like, "Kill him!" or You're gonna die kid!" Whenever he looked back at the guys chasing him it appeared they were getting closer, and scarier. No matter how much he ran, they wouldn't stop chasing him.

Then he trips, and as he tries to get up and start running again, something grabs him by his ankles and starts pulling him towards his would-be demon attackers. He tries grabbing something to hold on too but every time he gets close to an object, the tentacle that is holding on to him pulls him away from it, with Atlas having nothing but the useless concrete road to to claw his hands on to.

Once the tentacle drags him close enough to the hooded monsters, they start beating, kicking, stomping and punching him nonstop.  Atlas tried to get back up and run, but some of them were holding him down while the others beat him. They were going to kill him, and nobody would help.  One the hooded demons stomped on his knee so hard, it broke his leg instantly. His ribs started breaking from the kicking and stomping, and a little bit of blood started coming out of his mouth.

Soon, the hooded demons dispersed, and Atlas could barely get up, or even breathe. Everything hurt so much, and tears started pouring out of his eyes.

Then one more hooded demon appeared. He was holding onto a silver pistol, and started aiming it towards his forehead. "Just to make sure you dont talk to the cops..." said the hooded demon with a demonic voice. Atlas closes his eyes and braces himself.  The hooded demon opens fire.

BAM*

Atlas wakes up and lunges forward, breathing heavily and sweating. He was back on his new bed. He checks himself to see if he is hurt. Luckily, he has no new injuries. He then hears light snoring. He looks to his right and sees Sunset Shimmer, sleeping next to him. Atlas then sighed in relief. He checks the alarm clock and sees that it is 2:00 am.

Atlas goes to the kitchen for a bit of snacking and brings out some milk. He notices a bunch of bottles of whipped cream and grabs one of those as well and starts squirting some in his mouth. He then pours himself the milk in a cup and sits down at a table in the kitchen. He struggles to get a hold of what happened in his nightmare.  He has been having the same one for the entire week.

A female voice spoke. "Hey there, Atlas," Atlas turns his head to the kitchen doorway and sees Sunset Shimmer leaning with her arms crossed and a small smile on her face. "You're up late. What are doing out of bed?" She asked.

"Oh, hey Sunset. I just had a nightmare..." said Atlas. Sunset walked over to the fridge and grabs one of the bottles of whipped cream. "Again? I am very sorry to hear that." She said with a sad look. She quits a bit of whipped cream on her index finger and eats it.

"Sunset, can we talk for a bit?" Atlas asked.

"Sure we can. Come on." Sunset and Atlas walk into the living room. Sunset turns on the lamp in the living room and they both sit on the couch and start talking. "Sunset, will we ever find out what I am or where I came from?" said a sad Atlas.

Sunset wrapped her arms around Atlas. "To be honest, I just don't know little guy. This is not going to be fast or easy. It is going to take a lot of time to figure out," said a caring Sunset. Tears started coming out of Atlas' eyes and he started weeping. He kept on thinking that he may never know who or what he really is.

"Oh come on little guy. Please don't be like that," She said. Atlas still continued to cry. If Sunset couldn't give him a proper answer to his problems, then he had no reason to stop crying. He wanted to know what life was before he lost his memory, know who his family was and go back home. But by the sound of it, it will not be possible.

"But what if I never find out anything about myself? I will be nothing but a little kid! A little kid who doesn't even know who or what he even is! I will practically be nothing! NOTHING!! I Dont even think I belong here," Atlas cried. His eyes were like faucets that were on high water pressure. It broke Sunset Shimmer's heart to see Atlas in a very sad state.

"That is not true, Atlas. You are something. You do belong here. I wasn't from this world as well, you know," said Sunset.

"...Really?" Atlas said as he tried to calm down from his crying. Tears still came out of his eyes.

"Of course. I was a unicorn that came from a magical land of ponies called Equestria. When I first came to this world, it took me a awhile to get used to it here. I used to be a very mean girl, treating everyone like garbage. I did that because I wanted power. Power was all that I cared about. It wasn't until my friends showed me friendship that I stopped. They helped me learn that friends are more important than power. Since then, I stopped being mean to everyone. I felt accepted in this world, and I never want to leave it," She explained. Atlas couldn't believe it. She used to be a mean, power hungry girl? He never saw that in her, even when he was scared of her in the beginning.

"Even if I don't find out what you are or where you came from, I promise that I will take care of you and never leave your side for the rest of your life. No matter what happens you will be like my own little brother. We will be like a new family together," said Sunset.

"Do...do you mean it?" said Atlas, still weeping.

"Of course I do," said Sunset. She kisses Atlas on his forehead. He stops crying and smiles at Sunset and Sunset smiles back at him and wipes his tears with a sleeve of her purple pajamas.

"Come on little guy. Lets go back to bed. Tomorrow is Saturday, and I am making pancakes for breakfast," Sunset said happily. That put a huge smile on Atlas' face.

"Pancakes?!" Atlas said with glee. Sunset smiled and giggled a bit. She found his response a little cute. "Of course. Just for you," She said. They both walked back to bed and went back to sleep with smiles on their faces.

9 AM. Sunset Shimmer awoke by a small ray of light shining from her window. She lunges up and yawns. She looks to the right side of her bed and sees Atlas, sleeping like a baby. She smiled warmly and gently patted his hair. She then hears a vibration coming from her journal that laid on her nightstand. Twilight sent Sunset a message questioning about Atlas.

Dear Sunset Shimmer,

What did you find out about the boy

and how are you so sure he is a

magical being?

-Twilight

Sunset reads the message and quickly responds.

Dear Twilight,

His name is Atlas and he has no memory

of his past. A few nights ago, 2 criminals

mugged him and gave him bad injuries.

The only magical activity I have seen so far

was a gold glow from his eyes. I will write

to you again if I see any more magical activity

from him.

-Sunset

Sunset puts her book down and leaves the bed. She heads to the kitchen and starts cooking breakfast. Within half an hour, Sunset was finished cooking the pancakes she promised to make for Atlas.

"Atlas, Breakfast!" Sunset yelled. Atlas wakes up from bed by the call of his name. He stretches his arms up and yawns. He then leaves the bedroom and heads for the kitchen. Once there, he sees Sunset preparing the pancakes. She puts whipped cream and strawberries on top. It made Atlas' mouth water. He sits at the table and starts clapping his hands very fast in excitement.

Sunset places Atlas' pancakes, milk, and silverware on the table and kisses him on his right cheek.

"Bon appetite Atlas!" said Sunset.

Atlas began eating his breakfast. Each bite of those delicious pancakes made Atlas very happy and wishes that the stack of pancakes were endless. Sunset soon gets a plate of pancakes of her own and sits down on the table to eat with Atlas. By the expression on Atlas' face, Sunset knew he loved her pancakes more than anything else she cooked.

While they ate, Sunset's phone rings. She answers her phone.

"Hello?" She said.

"Hey Sunset, Its Rainbow Dash! Hows it going?" asked Rainbow.

"Hey Rainbow. Its going alright. Just giving the little guy a delicious breakfast." said Sunset.

"Oh, that's awesome! Anyway, I wanted to ask you what you have planned for the Christmas Break." asked Rainbow.

"Hmmm...that is a good question. I haven't even focused on what I was going to do for the break ever since I brought Atlas into my house." said Sunset.

"Luckily for you, Pinkie Pie made plans for all of us, including Atlas. Remember that slumber party thing we did last year with the whole

"Anon-A-Miss" Incident?" said Rainbow.

Sunset sighed. "Please don't remind me of that! What about it?" said Sunset. Those memories with Anon-A-Miss was something she was trying to forget about. It nearly ruined her first Christmas break with her friends.

When somebody on MyStable posted embarrassing photos of Sunset's friends, they nearly rejected her. Soon, everyone else in school had embarrassing photos on Mystable because of it, and it was all thanks to those little cutie mark crusaders. They were jealous about Sunset Shimmer getting all of the attention from their older sisters, and they wanted to humiliate her. They soon confessed and apologized about it afterwards.

"We are doing the same thing again this year. We were wondering if you and Atlas want to come. I know the first time we did this was awful, but I am pretty sure that we won't be facing some crazy cyberbullies this year." said Rainbow. Sunset thought about it for a bit. She did want to give Atlas a fun holiday break, and this slumber party thing might be the closest thing he will get to a fun break.

"Definitely! When do we start?" asked Sunset.

"Awesome! On Monday at Pinkie's house. Hope to see you there! Later!" said Rainbow and hangs up the phone.

"Atlas, sweetie, I have some exciting news! We are going to spend the holidays with our friends. Isn't that great?" said Sunset.

"Yaaaaay!" he yelled in excitement.
