Game of Shadows

Chapter 10

“The game ends.”

Sugar Cube goes downstairs and he  tried to wet down his mane and cleans up his suit butterscotch was sitting around a small dinner table talking to Crystal heart and Rose petal. Butterscotch wore her beautiful red dress and Rose Petal wore a simple pink dress with large ruffles flowing around her, while Crystal heart wore a beautiful purple dress.

They were all laughing Butterscotch then said “Hey Sugar Cube.”

He smiled then said, “Looks like you three got along without me.”

He went up to Butterscotch they kissed and then Black heat and Cloudy day came up to him then Black heat smiles wearing his black suit and blouse.

He then said “Sugar Cube.”

They shook hooves then Cloudy day hugged him.

Sugar Cube muttered, “Alright.”

He got back then said “thank you?”

Rose petal looked up then smiled then the two kissed for a long time. Sugar and Black Heat smiled.

Then Sugar Cube said, “I’m sorry for breaking the moment but where is lord Silver?”

Then cloudy Day looked up and said “In the garden waiting for his big moment.”

Black Heat chuckled, “Alright let’s do this."

Butterscotch and Crystal heart rose from the table then Cloudy day looked at Rose petal.

She smiled and said, “I’ll be fine.”

Cloudy day then said, “I know but...one more week.”

She replied, “Well one more week of good night sleep.”

They all laughed then Sugar cube lead them to the garden then He hid in the bushes with Butterscotch and Cloudy day and Black heat went up to Lord silver in his dull grey suit and blouse.

Lord Silver asked “So Black heat rare you ready?”

Black heat then said, “First give me the paper the one that you cursed my wife with.”

Lord Silver took the paper from his vest and said, “I don’t be mean to be rude but if you don’t do as I told you your wife will die.”

Black heat took the book from his jacket then placed it on the ground then with his magic then he set the book to flame. Lord silver placed the paper on the ground and shoved his hoof on it.

He then said, “Destroy!”

Then Two guards rushed him and slammed him on the ground and then one slammed his face on the stone floor.

Sugar Cube came from the bushes with Butter scotch then Cloudy day.

Then Sugar Cube said “ well looks like we have our confession.”

Princess Celestia came forward from the shadows.

Lord Silver chuckled, “This was a set up.”

Sugar Cube then said, “Of course you thought you had this all figured out but you never had a chance.”

Black heat then said, “When you gave me that ring five months ago I knew it was curse and I destroyed it. From that day I waited complicated killing you. That night about a month ago I let out my rage that’s what caused he nightmares.”

Sugar Cube then said, “Well he also helped me save the life of shadow mane not only that that cloudy day the one standing over you is the real cloudy day.”

Princess Celestia smiled and said “The changeling, he’s the reason we caught you is mostly due to him.”

Sugar Cube then said, “We had him impersonate Cloudy day under your manor. He invaded your room and found the book and all the extra pages hidden in your room.”

Sugar Cube took them out of his coat.

Black Heat then said, “Princess Celestia burned the real book and after that we took a page from the book and saw that the edges turned black.”

Sugar Cube replied, “We have fifteen of them I’m betting you were planning a few more murders if your plan went through.”

Lord Silver then looked up then said “what do you want me to say that I did it that? I was going to use a book to kill those who don’t respect the life their given? Yes I did I wanted them to die and I wanted you princess Celestia to witness that you cannot protect any pony! You don’t deserve to have that throne no more than your sister or your mother.”

Princess Celestia went up to lord silver and slapped him hard across the face then said, “For the deaths of Root, and Cody for black mailing Black heat to kill over one hundred ponies and for attempting to murder Iron hoof Crystal Heart, and shadow Mane you’re under arrest.”

The guards lifted him and then escorted him away then Sugar cube smiled as did Black Heat then Cloudy day laughed then Butter scotch hugged Sugar cube and the kissed then Crystal heart came over to Black Heat and they kissed as well.

Sugar Cube laughed and said “It’s over.”

Crystal heart hugged Black Heat.

Sugar Cube got in close with Butterscotch “Now I can start enjoying this night.”

She then said, “Alright come on I’ll grab you a chair.”

Then Cloudy day said “I’ll get you a drink.”

Sugar cube replied“Thank you all of you.”

He then trotted off with Cloudy day Crystal heart and Butterscotch back inside the palace and as they sat down eating drinking and talking.

Rose petal replied “Sugar cube looks like I owe you a life supply of coffee.”

He laughed, “don’t send it all at once.”

Cloudy day then said, “So anyways how did you get that changeling to help you?”

Butterscotch smiled and said, “Yeah tell us how you did it.”

Sugar cube then said, “It’s a long story.”

Rose Petal nods then said, “It is. Morph he calls himself. He told me a lot of things before he went through with the plan.”

Sugar cube then said “Alright I’ll start it off.”

two weeks ago...

Morph came and he was with Sugar Cube in lord silver’s manor and as they unlocked his cell underneath the manor using a one of the keys morph changed from lord Silver’s form to his own.

Sugar Cube woke Cloudy day who was curled up on the floor he woke and said, “Get away from me!”

He crawled to the back of the cell then Sugar Cube said “Be quiet were here to rescue you.”

Cloudy day looked at the changeling and then at Sugar Cube and said “So you’re not going to kill me?”

Sugar Cube then said, “No were not going to kill you.”

Then Cloudy day got up then said, “My wife, my filly are they okay are they still alive!”

Sugar Cube then said “they’re both fine. Look, my friend here morph he’s going to play as you. Lord Silver he’s the one who put you here.”

Cloudy day then said, “Lord Silver then he was the one who locked me up.”

Morph then said, “Yes he did, but if we put him in prison for just filly napping isn’t enough. We need him to go down for the murders of Root and Cody as well for that to happen you’re going to play my role as fake spy. Lord Silver has no idea that Sugar Cube and I teamed up as long you keep fake tabs on Sugar Cube then we’ll keep this game in check and win.”

Cloudy day then said, “So what you’ve been playing me this whole time?”

Morph nods an replied, “I’m sorry but I was put here myself for five years I was a victim just as much as you were.”

Cloudy day then said “alright then.”

He gets up and then he hugs Sugar cube and said “Thank you.”

Sugar cube rolls his eyes then said, “Whatever now we need to get out of here.”

Cloudy Day then turns to Morph who steps in the cell then swallows then Sugar Cube closes and locks the cell door then he threw the key to Morph who catches with his mouth then swallows it.”

Morph then said, “I’ll upchuck it every few hours then swallow it again. I’ll find the book then I’ll report it to you through Cloudy day once I have confirmation send the fake book through the mail at midnight. Then I’ll take the fake book replace the real book then from there find the extra pages around the house.”

Sugar Cube nods then said “Morph I couldn’t have done this without you. I want you to know that. “

Morph then said “Thank you for giving me a second chance.”

He then sits on the side of the cell and stares at the bars as Sugar Cube and cloudy day went back upstairs.

The night of the galloping gala

Morph was in Lord Silver’s study that was on the opposite side of the manor he was tearing through every book and scroll then he found one he then opens it and he began  to read he then said “I knew it  I knew that Abyss and Silver worked together it makes since now everything. Oblivion wanted Lord Silver to think he would use Death to control Equestria but in reality use Death to kill every pony. Black heat who is also Death didn’t. So, I also wonder why would Silver not go with that original plan? it would make more sense. Now I see, Abyss you planned this from the start. He was the true mastermind he came here years ago and discussed in full detail about princess Celestia and how he was going to destroy her image have another rule in her place. Abyss he wanted to keep Equestria weak and broken there are even letters here about a pony named Snowstorm, the location of Crimson’s Wife, the money used to fund Snowstorm’s campaign, letters talking in detail about Cody and his love interest, Root and how his brother died. Abyss and Silver planned it all the uprisings, the murders, this plot. Abyss would of won would have destroyed Equestria without even being present. We were playing a game against a dead pony but why, why would he do this?”

Morph sat in the pile of papers then he picked up a scroll then he began to read it then he scanned through it.

He then shouted “shit!”

He then flew out of the Study’s window.

Lord silver sat in his cell smiling.

He then said “Shadow.”

Shadow looked up then said, “Lord Silver we never met.”

Lord Silver then said, “Do you believe that we can be saved? You think princess Celestia can save the pony race?”

shadow then said, “For years I thought the Alicorns will come back try to enslave us. I followed Abyss because I though he was right. Now I see were were just tools in a larger game”

Lord Silver then said, “Yes we are but it’s for the greater good. I believe that we can’t survive by ourselves and we sure as hell can’t survive with princess Celestia sitting on the throne.”

Shadow then said, “I saw her two weeks ago when Cody died she looked at him with pity a pony who almost committed murder. Tell me why would she do that? She does deserve a chance maybe we were wrong. Love, compassion, friendship, these words use to mean weakness to me. Now I see them as strength I tried to tear that from both Black heat and Sugar Cube but they prevailed they didn’t use anger or hate they used their wits and their love for others to defeat us.”

Lord Silver then said, “Love is weak and blind. They have no idea how well Abyss thought everything out, soon Black heat will kill his wife if he likes it or not.”

As Sugar Cube Cloudy day Rose petal and Black heat ate together at the galloping gala Black heat fell over he started to shiver then he galloped out and headed to the garden s crystal Heart galloped after him as did Sugar Cube then he saw him quivering.

He shouted “Stand back!”

Crystal heart then said, “What’s wrong?”

Black heat then said “the shadows their growing I don’t know how I’ve had control over them for so long. Please get out of here!” He screamed as he fell on the ground and then his body started to cover in dark growing shadows.

Black heat felt his body falling apart as the shadows started to grow. He calmed his mind and then he looked at Sugar cube and Crystal heart and shouted “Sugar Cube find princess Celestia!”

Sugar Cube nods then he turns and see's princess Celestia and as she, lands she then said “Black heat calm yourself.”

He does as the shadows receded she lifted the elements of harmony into the air and as she blasted their power into him the shadows tried to absorb the power but Black heat was purposefully lowered the shadows and then the shadows began to grow then he turns his head to see Sun Dancer with princes Blue blood. Prince Blue blood was hiding behind little sun dancer who was just staring at the shadows. Sun Dancer was shivering there was tears coming down from his eyes.

he just muttered “mom”

princess Celestia began to lose focus as she starred at her son and shouted, “What are you doing here!”

Sugar Cube then went over to sun Dancer and stood in front of him.

Butterscotch turned to princess Celetstia then said, “Stay focused and turn your attention to Black heat. Sugar Cube won’t let any harm come to Sun Dancer or prince blue blood.”

Princess Celestia then turns he attention to Black heat who was on the ground blood was pouring from his eyes as he shouted “I won’t let it win the shadow won’t win.”

Crystal heart came forward then Black Heat looked at her then Crystal heart then said “You told me that you would do anything even doe for me. So you’re not going to kill me.”

Black heat then said “What are you…”

then the shadows tried to attack her but they paused in midair.

Then she hen said “You can do it honey. I trust you.”

Black heat looked at her then said “Alright.”

He then swallowed more of the shadow but he then started to puke blood on the ground and more blood poured from his eyes then

He looked up then said, “I promise you I promise myself I won’t be a monster.”

Then the elements of harmony hit Black heat then he screamed as the shadows within him escaped from his body and into the air then he fell to the ground.

Crystal Heart rushed to him and held him close he then said, “It’s gone the shadow it’s finally gone.”

Princess Celestia fell on the ground exhausted but  she got up and flew over Sugar Cube turned to Sun Dancer tears were streaming down his face and he had piss all over the ground. He just stood there.

Princess Celestia flew to him then prince blue blood got up and with tears said “He wanted to… he.”

Sun Dancer then fell into princess Celestia and she hugged him close Sugar Cube just watched them then Sun Dance blinked and then he started to cry hard and fell into princess Celestia.

She then said, “It’s going to fine sweetie.”

Prince blue blood began to cry too.

Sugar Cube then knelt towards him then held him close then said, “It’s going to be okay.”

The night passed and the galloping gala was soon over. Sugar cube took prince blue blood to his silver rose’s room and had him cared for.

Princess Celestia was with Sun Dancer in her bed.

He muttered, “Mommy I’m sorry.”

She then said, “It’s okay I’m not mad at you.”

He then said, “I wanted blue blood to be happy.”

Princess Celestia stroked his mane then said, “You protected him.”

Sun Dancer then said, “He’s my best friend.”

She then said “of course he is you would protect all your friends wouldn’t you?”

He nods then said, “I want to.”

She then said, “You know you’re the bravest pony I know.”

He smiled and said, “I love you mommy”

He snuggled next to her she kissed his fore head then said, “I love you so much. “

Sugar cube was cursing in his room he threw his cloak on the ground and smashed the ground with his hoove.

Butterscotch came on and said, “Sugar Cube.

” He looked at her then shouted “He saw it he felt it. Just like me just like Black heat he felt that same pain!”

Butterscotch then said, “The shadow it didn’t enter him right?”

Sugar cube shakes his head then said “No, but the power can mess with you make you see things. Who knows what he saw. What will haunt him for the rest of his life.  I should...of my fault I should of.”

He fell on the bed and then Butterscotch said, “It’s not your fault. This is all lord Silver he was the one who manipulated events like this he never told Black heat his power would be too much to control. No pony died because he isn’t monster nor are you nor is Sun Dancer.”

Sugar cube looked up then said, “I know. I just feel like a failed Sun Dancer.”

Butterscotch then said, ”He’s alive and unharmed and with you and princess Celestia whatever he saw will be forgotten, stop being so hard on yourself.”

Sugar Cube then said, “Thank you, I wonder if it’s really over. Every time we think evil has passed something new comes up.”

Sugar Cube shakes his head then said, “We’ll see what happens. However I made a promise, Abyss Omega Oblivion are dead and lord Silver is locked away. Every enemy we know is gone and the night was a success.”

Butterscotch then said, “So are you ready?”

Sugar Cube looked at his white cloak then he picked it with his mouth and went to a small chest he then placed it inside and then he and butterscotch placed every dagger and knife within it with the map of canter lot and his herbs and bandages. Then they close the lid together.

Sugar Cube said “Butterscotch I promised you once Death was captured that I will give up being an assassin.Unless Equestria is threatened I’m done with death and sorrow.”

She then came close and said, “You never give up do you?”

Sugar cube then said “Nor do you.”

They came close she then pushed back his mane and then they kissed and  Sugar Cube plunged himself into he and they collapse on his bed.

Black Heat was under in Crystal heart’s bed within her room had a pink carpet and white walls with her large bed with large pink chest and a giant blanket.

Crystal heart climbed in then she said, “you okay?”

He sighed and said, “Yeah everything’s fine now.”

She then said, “The blood though coming from your eyes and you were puking it up.”

He then said, “Its fine. That’s not the first time this happened to me.”

She then said “Then it’s gone, all of it?”

he nods then said, “For the first time in my life I feel free like a giant weight was lifted off my shoulders.”

She then said, “I told you, you chose good over evil and you trusted me.”

Black heat looked at her and said, “Thank you for trusting me, and I want you to know I put that much trust in you”

She kissed him then he said “Was Prince Sun Dancer and prince blue blood okay?”

Crystal heart then said “they’re fine, a little shaken up but they weren’t harmed.”

He sighed she looked at him and said “their fine because of you. You fought that shadow with everything you got. You don’t dare blame yourself.”

He looked up at her then said “Thank you. But is everything okay with you?”

She smiled and stroked his face then said “I didn’t know when to say it. I’m pregnant.”

He stuttered then said “ What? When ? How?”

she then said, “you know how.”

He chuckled then they kissed then she said “For the last month.”

He chuckled then said “I guess tonight was perfect the night we leave the shadow behind.”

They kiss again and crawl under the covers together.

That night after Sun Dancer was fast asleep princess Celestia got up.

She then see’s morph she then said, “Morph.”

He then bows and said “This is the last time you’ll see me. I just came to say some things I believe you need to know.”

Princess Celestia then said “I don’t mean to be rude but could you lower your voice.”

He smiled seeing Sun Dancer cuddled on the bed then said, “First of all, you need to know. Lord Silver was behind the uprisings that happened four years ago and he had helped from Abyss. Abyss was the one who found Snowstorm who gave lord Silver the power to have Snowstorm become a general and they had him attack a village and kill Crimson’s wife causing the uprisings. Then Lord Silver would get rid of Shadow Mane, Iron Hoof and Crystal heart. Then he would have had full power of the bank. Then he would kill all those identified as unworthy and kill them here tonight at the galloping gala then vote you off as princess and he would claim the throne.”

Princess Celestia then said “So this wasn’t for his judgment. That was just an excuse he wanted the throne for himself and was going to kill any pony in his way for it.”

Morph nods then said “All the evidence is neatly labeled in his manor.”

Princess Celestia bows her head then said “Thank you, you have my gratitude.”

Morph bows his head then said, “I will tell the changelings of thekindness of ponies. Thank you for everything.”

He then flew through the window and closed it behind him he then saluted and flew off. Then princess Celestia fell back on the bed and stroking Sun dancer’s mane.
