(my first story)
Sunny yawned waking up just as the sun rose from east clearing away the blackest night. He sighed in content glad for how his life as lead him to peaceful nights. He gently walks down to the kitchen and looks at a shopping list and grabs it. As sunny reads the list he starts to make the house breakfast the smell of pancakes drifting through the air.
Sunny carefully cleaned up and sighed and walked out. Talking in a hushed whisper to himself. I can probably do all the shopping for today while there still sleeping hopefully. As sunny walked down the orangery yellow path down the road he sees a mare. He looks at he pinkish purple coat and purple and blue mane.
Sunny walks up to the mare and stops and asked "excuse me do you need any help you look nervous and anxious about something." The mare looks at sunny and smiles saying "oh me no I just have a dinner with two princesses and no friend hahaha." Sunny awkwardly laughs and sighs taking deep breaths in and out "follow my lead go in .....and now breath out." The mare follows Sunnys lead.
"What's your name by the way I'm Sunny, Sunny knight but my friends call me sunny." The mare looks at sunny and smiles and mumbles under her breath almost scared to say her name. "come on don't be shy now ive known you all of five minutes." The mare laughs and small genuine laugh and speaks "starlight .....starlight glimmer."
Sunny looks and pats starlight's back "see that wasn't so hard was it, now about your friend problem I say you just made yourself one." Starlight gasps in surprise and smiles bouncing lightly"a are you sure are you serious." Sunny chuckles and replies "does warm apple pie melt on your tongue yes im serious."
Sunny starts to walk off "I have to go do some shopping your welcome to come along if you'd like." Sunny and starlight start to walk to the market together both happy to be making friends.

The sun slowly rises in ponyville. The bird all start to sing a pretty song. As Sunny walks up and goes downstairs, he is surprised to see AppleJack talking to RainbowDash.
I mean seeing AppleJack up at this time is no surprise but RainbowDash? "moring Dash moring AJ what are you guys talking about?" RainbowDash growls slightly and pushes a news paper in front of Sunnys face. Apple Jack chuckles a bit "read the head line out loud.
" AppleJack says a bit smug still laughing at,her friend. "Rough rebellious Dash is actually shy kind mare friend?" "We have a inside scoop from Zephyr Breeze to give us the DL on Dash.
" Sunny reads and scratches his head confused. "who's Zephyr Breeze and why did he say,you were both dating." Rainbow Dash yells losing it "He's FlutterShys brat of a little brother and I have no idea but if anyone on town sees this my life is over."
"Well sorry sugar cube ain't nothing y'all can do now just let this run its course." Apple Jack says apologetically.
"What if I talk to him get him to see how upset you are." Sunny says looking at both mares who look at,each other then nod. "YES THANKS SO MUCH SUN YOUR THE BEST!" Rainbow rips out the newspaper with Zephyr's picture and gives it to him. "here and thanks again for doing this Sunny."
The perfect Hearths warming gift

Sunny sighed in watching his breath mixed with the frigged air. Walking around half way to Canterlot and what has brought him out on such a night lets go back and see.
~earlier that day~
AppleBloom rushes in excitedly yelling "ITS HEARTHS WARMING EVE" Sunny lets out a chuckle and tilts his head "what's the big deal with hearths warming that's got you all excited" Applebloom gasps " Sunny your kidding right we've be talkin bout all month." Sunny quickly replies nervous. "well I haven't been paying much attention to anything" AppleBloom sighs and starts to explain hearths warming. "The end now do you understand sunny." Sunny gets up and quickly trots out the door looking for a gift for AJ.
~back to the present ~
Sunny walks around looking as more and more stores close. He has his sattle bag full of gifts for everyone but AJ. He wanted no he needed her gift to be special to show how special she is to him. The sun slowly rises and sunny walks back to the farm failing his quest.
Then a wall eyed mare stops him "aww what's got you so down mister its hearths warming the happiest day of the year." Sunny mumble just loud enough for her to hear "I couldn't find the perfect gift for someone special." The mare thinks and giggles "sorry I didn't mean to laugh my name is derpy and well, I laughed because perfect gifts are ones from the heart."
"Just put thought into it and the one you love will never be disappointed." Sunny tilted his head and spoke "I never thought about it like that my name is sunny thank you very much." A scarf falls out of derpys bag "oops I made it for the doctor maybe you can make one for who ever special pony is."
"Yes yes your brilliant absolutely brilliant derpy thank you." Sunny leaves running to the shed and smiles as the roasters wake up the rest of the farm. Sunny puts the gift in a box and puts everything under the hearths warming tree.
AppleBloom smiles and looks at all the presents smiling. The family walks into the kitchen to eat breakfast as twilight and the rest of the gang walk in to exchange gifts smiling. AppleBloom had given sunny a new hat and big Mac gave him a book to write spells in.
Sunny tapped AJ and gave her a box as Aj opened the box a necklace with a applecharm shined in the light. "thanks sugar cube y'all bein here was gift enough." "well your the apple of my eye AJ." Pinkie threw mistletoe in Sunny face and AJ gave Sunny a small kiss and they all partied til sunset.
