Journey Through the Glade of Dreams

[Author’s Note: Time for fan fiction number 2. As before, I don’t own the characters, locations, et cetera. They all belong to Hasbro, Lauren Faust, Sega, Michel Ancel, and Ubisoft. I hope you all enjoy, so let’s get on with it!]

Prologue                         narrator: Rayman

        The Glade of dreams was a peaceful place. More or less as soon as I was created, I made friends and was thrown into an adventure. Eventually I lost my memories and went to a higher level of the glade, where other Raypeople roamed freely. Then Mr. Dark found me and attacked so the fairies saw it fit to return me to what we call Polokus’ realm. I had to meet my friends again, but things were how they used to be.

        Being a guardian, it wasn’t long until duty called again. The actual reason the fairies brought me back was that they foresaw that the robot pirates would attack. The fairy known as Ly organized a group of freedom fighters to stop Razorbeard. But that didn’t stop him from shattering the heart of the world into 1000 lums. That took away my powers as well but I managed to recover them, stop Razorbeard and rescue my best friend Globox.

Globox is a Glute. Basically, a blue (though they come in many colors; his wife and some of his kids are red for example) frog like creature. He’s not too bright, but he has a kind heart and he’s the best friend I could have asked for. That being said he can cause trouble.

Once Globox swallowed a black lum, of course it was André the most powerful of them all. A black lum is what happens when a red lum, which has healing properties, gets scared. That was crazy, André taught a bunch of black lums to gather fur to fashion clothing, and limbs somehow, (not that I’m jealous, it’s much more practical to not have any) and fight so we had to find a doctor to get André out of Globox, and then André formed an alliance with Reflux, a Knaaren warrior who I bested to gain the power to convert the black lums back into red ones. Black lums still come back every now and then, as well as André himself. I have no idea how that even works but it does.

Nothing much has happened recently. André hasn’t returned lately, and the robot pirates along with Mr. Dark haven’t been seen since their defeat. Globox welcomes it, he says it give him more time with his family. I love relaxation as much as the next guy, but I’m getting kind of bored.  Somehow though I get the feeling something absolutely insane is about to happen. Here’s hoping that something will make this dull streak madder…

[Author’s Note: Rayman’s memory being tampered with isn’t cannon, but it’s the only explanation I can think have why he doesn’t know his moves from origins in Rayman 1, nor why Rayman 1 is the only game in a different world.]
