Daughter of Moonlight
I got new Tattoos and I saved the Princess of Friendship, wait what
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI woke up in the cave that I slept in during the storm last night, I guess this isn’t a dream. I got up and grabbed the bag of animal crackers and ate the rest of them, I should have packed more of them. I grabbed the rest of my supplies and kicked and stomped the coals to make sure that it was completely out, then went out to grab so dirt and put it on top of it. What? You can’t be too careful what would happen if an animal comes along and kicks a hot coal outside of the cave and it starts a forest fire.
I got out of said cave and started looking around the place. As I was walking I made mental notes of where I was going and how to get back to the cave if I didn’t find a town, if there were any towns at all. I began climbing over some trees but stopped when I saw something on my hand glowing green, they looked like runes… Green glowing runes.
I looked at my hands and pulled back the sleeves of my coat and saw faint runes on my hands and arms.
“Okay, this is new,” I said to myself. So I got tattoos on my arms which I didn't remember getting them. I decided to not question about them and continue walking. I saw a few animals as I walked through the forest, some of them waved at me which was weird. I even saw some plants that I know of back home and some that I don't, like this blue flower that grows all over. I got a bit closer by my survival instinct screamed at me that I shouldn't be close to it so I left the flowers alone.
I continue on for another twenty minutes until I saw something that caught my eye. It was a pile of leaves on the ground in front of me. I saw a rope coming from there and up the tree. I grabbed a large rock and tossed it into the pile of leaves. Sure enough the trap was sprung as a net shot up and had the rock in it. I got closer to it and saw that the rope was interesting so I went and cut it down and took it. I went and turned it into a makeshift bag to carry some of my stuff. As I slung it over my shoulder I felt something off about the robe, I held it in front of me. It looks like rope, it smells like rope, it feels like rope so I think I'm being paranoid.
I continue on my way noting some places to set up traps to catch some food when I heard someone yell. I looked over where it came from and frowned about it. I turned to head away from the yell since I didn't want to deal with it. I'm not going to help someone who's lost in these wood, let them deal with… wait, that was someone yelling, that means that there's people, that means there's a town… that means I'm a big idiot. I turned around and headed towards the yell. I crouched down and looked into a clearing where I see someone on the ground.

Whoever she is she didn't look good. She wore tattered rags and almost covered everything and she looked exhausted and she looked like she was crawling away. Just before she could get anywhere I saw two figures emerge from the other end of the trees. Both of them wore what looked like furs but the one one the left was smaller and wore a lynx's pelt that was a few sizes too big and the one on the right was really big and wore a bear's fur. They walked up to the girls and the short one grab her hair and yank her up.
“You slave made our jobs harder for running away,” the small one said in a high voice.
“Harder yeah,” The big one said in a low voice. The girl tried to break free but couldn't so she started crying.
“Please…” she said in a weak voice. The small one snorted.
“You hear that, little slave said please looks like we're going to have some fun with her,”
“Yeah fun…” the big one said with a smile. The girl eyes went wide at this and shook her head.
“No… Please no, don't do this," she bagged. I frowned at this. These two… monsters are going to go a rape this girl, well I'm not going to let that happen. I pulled out my sling and grabbed a good size rock and put it in it. I stood up and began swinging the sling around and started to aim at the big one.
“We'll break you so you'll be more understanding,” the small one said as he grabbed both the girls arms. The girl was crying as the big one got closer to her.
“Yeah, more understanding-” Whack!!
My stone hit it's mark as the big one stood there for a moment until he fell over to his side. The small one jumped up and screamed, I took this change to run towards him and kick him. For some reasoned I felt faster and I got up to him in about five seconds. I got to him and kicked him in the face which sent him rocking to the trees
I stood there blinking in surprise as what I just did. I kicked him into the trees, I didn’t mean to put so much strength into the kick hell if I did I shouldn’t have sent him into the trees. As I was thinking about it I heard a thud from behind me. I turned and saw that the girl has fallen over on the ground. I went over to her to see her if she’s alright. I saw that she has cuts and bruises all over her body and dark circles under her eyes meaning that she hasn’t slept for a long time. What I found out is that she also had those runes on her arms and legs and on her back a tattoo of wings.
Okay… wings tattoos, that’s kinda cool. I turned her over and picked her up bridal style amazingly she’s lighter than she looks. I turned to see the big guy and frowned at him and walked back into the forest. Hoping to find a place to rest up.
As I was walking the girl started mumbling to herself and I saw her crying. I picked up my pace as I hurried into the forest.
Twilight PoV
All I could remember was that I was running down the many tunnels that ran underground in hope I could find my way out. I hear screams of other slaves call out of help but I couldn’t help them. I made a silent promise that I would return to help them but I needed to get out of here.
I heard them crawling all over the walls getting closer to me so I ran faster. I ran for so long but I couldn’t find the way out. As I was running I hit a rock and fell to the ground. I tried to get back up but I felt my leg get grabbed and got pulled back. I felt hands and claws all over me, I screamed to stop but they didn’t. I closed my eyes and hoped that this would end.
I opened my eyes to see a roof over my head. It was wooded with was odd. I heard a fire crackling to my right and the sound of something being stirred. I turned my head to see someone stirring a pot of soup. I slowly sat up which made the bed I was in groaned as I moved.
“It would be better if you layed down and rest a little longer,” The person said as she continued stirring. I layed back down with my back on the headboard and looked at her.
“Who are you? Where am I?” I asked her. She didn’t turn to me.
“We’re in an abandoned house deep in some forest, it’s the only place that I could find after your run in with the other two,” She said as she got up. I frowned a bit and remembered what she was talking about. I was running from them because I been storing enough magic to do a teleport. But with me being turned into a Celestial and haven’t slept for a week made me weak.
“What happened to those two?” I asked her. She into another room and began to rifle through some stuff.
“Well with the fact that I slung a good size rock to his head he should have his skull caved in but I think he has a thicker skull than that so I just knocked him out and for the little one I don’t know since I kicked him into a group of trees,” She said. I heard her open something that was followed by a loud crashing sound. “Dia diabhal é!” (God damn it!)
After a minute later she walked out of the other room with two bowls and spoons in hand. I got a good look at her face. She was very pale with white hair and crimson eyes. A crescent shape moon scar was over her right eye. She kneeled down and scooped out some soup in both bowls. She got up and handed me a bowl, she went back and sat at the fire. I looked at the bowl of soup and started eating it. At least it was warm and flavorful.
“Thank you for saving me, Those Diamond dogs are nothing but trouble for the past couple years,” I said to her. She looked at me for a moment and went back to her bowl with a shrugged.
“No problem, I was near by when you started yelling.” She said to me. I smiled a bit and went back to eating for a few minutes. “I don’t know if you know but if you do, do you know where the nearest town located?”
“No, We’re to far in this forest to let me know where we are, if this was the Everfree then Evos would be the closest.” I told her. She frowned for a bit.
“Hmm I don’t know the place Evos but I can say that it’s a weird name,” She told me.
“Don’t look at me, I didn’t name the place.” I replied to her. She chuckled and finished her soup and set it down as she stood up.
“I’m going to take a look around for a bit get some rest and by tomorrow we will head out,” She said to me. She turned and headed out of the building. I finished my soup and set it down on the floor and layed back down. I felt my eyes slowly closed and fell into a peaceful sleep for the first time in a few weeks.
Blake
After finding the girl and taking her to the abandoned house I went back to the spot where I found her to see if those two are still there. When I got there all I found was something worrying. The big guy was gone and all was left was blood. I took a look at where I kicked the small one and saw only blood there. Has something come around and finished them off?
I turned and returned to the house, when I got there the sun has set and the moon was rising up in the sky. I entered the house to see that the girl was sleeping peacefully. I saw that the fire was low but I didn’t want to re-light it so I went to a wall, sat down and looked up at the hole in the roof of the place and looked at the sky. I closed my eyes and went to sleep.
In the morning, I searched the house to see what else there is here. After looking around I found a lot of junk and broken stuff, I did find some clothes that looked the right size of the girl. I walked back to the room to see the girl awake and handed her the close. I told her that they were a bit better than what she was wearing at the time. I went over and grabbed everything that I pulled out and put it back in my bags. I turned to see her standing there blushing like mad.
“You ok?” I asked her. She shifted a bit.
“Umm can you turn the other way so I can get change,” She asked me. I stared at her.
“You know that you’re half naked and the only things that are keeping you from being completely naked are those rags and they aren’t doing a very good job,” I told her. I saw her face went completely red at this, I sighed and looked away as I muttered. “Tá sé seo chomh dúr.” (This is so stupid)
After a few moments I turned to see her in new clothes, a green t-shirt and some jeans. After I got everything together we both headed out of the house and headed into the forest. Along the way I asked for her name and she told me that she’s Twilight Sparkle and she’s a Princess. I also gave her my name as well.
“Well I’m a newly made Princess since it was almost a year since I was turned into a Celestial,” She told me with a frown, “A whole year yet I still can’t get used to this body.”
“What’s a Celestial?” I asked her. She looked at me if I grew a second head.
“Your… kidding right?” I just stared at her as she said that. “You’re really not from around here are you,”
“I’m from a far off place,” I told her. She gave me a look that I saw when my dad was going to explain something to me.
“Well to know what a Celestial is you need to know of the three other races, first there’s Magi who I used to be, they are gifted in the magical arts and enchanting and scrolls say that they got their magic as a gift by Riona.” She started to explain. I tried to ask her who was Riona but she kept going.
“Then there’s Caelum they have the ability to make wings and fly in the sky, they are also known to be great engineers and tinkers so they build almost anything they can get their hands on, they were taught by Emus” I stopped trying to stop her from talking and listen to her go.
“Finally there’s Erde they are know for their feats of strength and fortitude, they are also known that they have a connection the the land and can grow basically anything in great quality, there gifts came from Visyn,” she finished. She looked at me as I was giving her a bored look. “I went total egghead mode didn't I.”
"Ya think,” I deadpanned. Twilight looked down at her feet.
“Sorry I kinda go total egghead when talking something like this, it's really interesting but I bore a lot of people,” she explained. I smiled at her.
“It's fine just answer my question about Celestials,” I asked her. She smiled at me.
“Well the basic idea is that Celestials are beings of all three races, they have all the traits of them they are perfect,” She explained. I snorted at the last part which she gave me a glare. “What was that for.”
“No one’s perfect, there never was a perfect being because if anyone was perfect than they would be boring,” I told her. She frowned at me.
“Who told you that?” She asked me.
“My dad did,” I answered her. She stared at me for a bit then looked ahead.
“Well if you see him next tell him that he has to see Princess Celestia, there’s someone who’s just perfect.” I stopped walking and looked down to the ground. Twilight kept walking until she saw that I wasn’t walking with her. She looked back at me. “Blake?”
“I can’t see him, he died some time ago,” I told her. We didn’t say anything after that for a few minutes.
“Blake, I’m so sorry I didn’t mean that…”
“It’s fine he didn’t want me to mourn over him, he said that he knew that his time was coming and accepted it.” It didn’t mean I liked it. He was the only person that I could talked to, that understands me and now he’s gone and I’m in some other world.
I felt someone walk up to me and hugged me. I blinked in confusion at this.
“Uhh, why are you hugging me?” I asked her.
“Something that a friend told me,” She told me. We stayed like that for a minute until she let go and both of us continued on. It took us a good half of the day until we got to a hill and I saw some ruins in the distance. It seemed that Twilight knew of the place as she started running towards it. I ran after her and we both headed towards the ruins. When we arrived the sun was setting over some mountains, geez was we walking for that long?!
“This is the castle of the two sisters! We’re so close to Evos!” She said excitedly. She started running towards somewhere but I stopped her by grabbing the shirt. She turns and looks at me with a frown as I pointed at the sky.
“It’s getting dark and I don’t know what else is living there but I bet it has teeth and love~ to eat people,” I said rudely. I know I shouldn’t be rude but I don’t deal with others that do stupid things and running into the forest at night with who knows what lives in there falls into that category. I let her go and looked at the castle. “If this is near Evos then we can sleep here.”
Twilight looked at me with a frown then looked at the castle. “Well I guess that’s a good idea, alright we sleep here but first thing in the morning we are heading to Evos.”
“No argues here,” I told her. We both head inside of the ruins and I first thought I had was that this place has seen better days. Most of the walls were weather or crumbled, many banners were somewhat in a somewhat good state while others look like they are turning to dust. What made me worry is that in some places there were what looked like claw marks, even worst is that they were really big. There was also some holes in the ground which were also not a good sign.
We headed to what I could tell is a library, at least this place was in good condition. Twilight looked happy to be in this place and headed off to look at some books. I headed down a different set of books and looked at the books that are there. Picking one at random I grabbed a book and opened it, it too is also in good condition and sure enough it was about this world's Gods. I skimmed through them and saw the names that Twilight told me about, Riona the water shaper and mother of magic, Emus the ruler of the Skies and crafting, and Visyn The Huntress and earth warden. There was one other that she didn’t say, Ajun the Firekeeper and warrior of dawn. So let's see here we have a goddess of water, a goddess of earth, a god of air, and a god of fire. Jeez this sounds like something from a RPG from home. I turned a few pages until something caught my eye, it seems there was a fifth one, one that made the other four just to safeguard this world. I began to read the pages.
“He goes by many names that are lost to time itself, no one knows if it was by fate or that he has made it so but only a few tested the will of time itself. Some call him The First, others the god of all gods and to the Dragon-kin Bahamut the Lord of Dragons, but one name is always there, a name that even if they know or don’t it’s a name that is always in our heads, The All Father.”
I flipped through some pages and found a little more about this All Father.
“It is said that the two Princesses, Princess Celestia and Luna, look very much like his two daughters. Could this be a coincidence or the will of him, no one knows.”
I looked through the book but found nothing else of interest so I placed the book back and looked around some more. It took some time but I found a place that me and Twilight could sleep for the night. It was a simple room with a nice skylight… since the roof had a hole in it. I looked up to the sky and saw the full moon I sat down with my back to the wall and looked at the moon. I closed my eyes and started to sing the song that my dad taught me when I was young.
(optional)
“Silver light
She turned her face up to the starlit sky
And on this night began to wonder why
She knew that soon the day would come
Born to be
An heir of beauty and serenity
Into this world she entered quietly
To her surprise she was the one
Destiny was close behind her
Phantom of borrowed life
And the sea was a reminder
Mirror of given light
I stopped singing to look up to the moon again and sighed.
“That was beautiful,” I hear someone said. I blinked and turn to see Twilight standing in the doorway. I turned and shrugged.
“Took singing lessons, don’t want to sing bad to that song it’s the only thing I have to know her by,” I told her.
“Her? Who are you talking about?” She asked me.
“My mother,” I answered. She sat down beside me as I looked up to the sky.
“Can I ask how she’s like,” She asked me.
“Can’t really say,” I told her. She frowned at me.
“I don’t know why people try to be mysterious, it just makes things harder to understand.”
“No I really can’t say because I don’t know her, she left me and my dad when I was born he said that it has something to do with her head and she left.” I explained. I pulled my knees up to me and stared off into space. “All I knew about her is that she loves this song.”
“Well… maybe you two will meet each other.” Twilight said. I didn’t say anything until I heard snoring coming from her. I shifted a bit and got comfortable and slowly fell asleep.
Luna
I stared at the moon as it looks down on the land as my magic slowly made it move in the sky. I sighed as I heard footsteps coming behind me.
“You’re up late sister do you need anything,” I asked her without turning.
“Can’t I come and see my sister for no real reason other than just to see her,” Tia said to me. I chuckled a bit and turned to her. I saw that she had taken the so-called ‘godly look’ and looked more mortal with her pink hair and gown. I smiled at her.
“Normally yes but I do know you Tia, I know that you're worried about Twilight but I assure you that she will be found,” I told her. She sighed and looked out over Canterlot.
“I know Lu but I can’t help but worry, she’s like a daughter to me and I can’t help but fear to lose her.” She told me. I bit my lip a bit as I looked off over Canterlot.
“Well tomorrow morning Twilight’s brother and some of the best knights are going into the Everfree forest to search for her there, and I implore you that you need rest. Don’t let the nobles see you in such a state.” I told her. She chuckled at me for a moment.
“Sometimes I wonder if you should of been the ruler of Terra,” She said to me. I smirked at her.
“If I was then I would've either run it into the ground or put it into an endless night that would of killed off everything and… well run it into the ground.” I told her. She rolled her eyes at me.
“Right, well good night Luna,”
“Good night Tia, have pleasant dreams,” I told her.
“With you up I know I will,” She commented as she turned into a white flash and disappeared from my room. I looked up to the moon and frowned.
“She’s like a daughter to me and I can’t help but fear to lose her.” Those words repeated in my head as I closed my eyes. Tears began to fall down my face.
“I know more than you know dear sister, more than you know.” I said softly as I began to sing.
(optional, again!)
“Then one day
The sign she'd waited for in skies of grey
Traversed a winding road and came her way
She found the love she hoped she would
But she knew
That she had promises to stay true to
The dormant daughter of the silver moon
Then all at once she understood
Destiny was close behind her
Phantom of borrowed life
And the sea was a reminder
Mirror of given light
From the sky
She watched the life
She'd known she would leave behind
Said goodbye
And gave her people
Life through her sacrifice”
