Burning's Ass for Money: Part 1
A nice sunny day beamed over the small town of Ponyville. Burning Axe was enjoying a nice trot in the local park. The grass was green as it can be, birds were singing, and little fillies and colts were playing games happily with their parents watching close by.

Burning Axe knew that Natures Fury was not usually a sad mare, for it was a rare sight to see, but he thought that the beautiful flowers he got would cheer her up.
"Hello, Nature." Burning Axe offered Natures Fury the flowers in his hoof.
"Hey, Burning." Natures Fury sees the flowers offered to her and takes them in her hooves with a brief, sweet smile. "Oh, thank you. They're lovely. How did you know they're my favorite?"
Burning Axe blushed as he bashfully chuckled and scratched his head with his front hoof. "Oh, well...just a lucky guess...I guess."
They both soon sat down together and began to have their picnic lunch. Burning Axe bit into a chocolate muffin, getting some of its chocolate frosting all over his snout, which Natures Fury gave began to playfully chuckle at. "So uh..." Burning Axe stammered. "How have you been, Nature?"
"Oh...I've been okay...I guess." Natures Fury answered in a sort of sad tone, even though she tried not to.
"What's wrong, Nature?"
Natures Fury sighed sadly. "I don't know, Burning.”
Though Natures Fury denied it, Burning Axe was not fooled, for he knew clearly that something was troubling her. He shuffled himself closer to her. "Come on, Nature. You can tell me.”
"Well...I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell you. You see, Burning, I received a letter in the mail this morning."
"Really? What was it about?"
Natures Fury sighed. "It was a letter from the bank. You see things have been kinda tough at my workplace for a couple of months now. And as a result, paying off some of my mortgage has been somewhat difficult. That's what the letter was about. It was a letter of warning from the bank."
"That is serious. What did the warning say?"
Natures Fury put her head down sadly. "Well... They said that I have 60,000 bits left of my mortgage to pay. And if I don't come up with the money to pay off the mortgage of my house by the 14th of August, which is in about a month from now, ...they'll foreclose it, and I will have to move out. And I can't afford to move out. ...I don't know what to do."
Burning Axe began to feel sorry for Natures Fury, for it was the first time he had ever seen her sad and worried. He thought for a moment before an idea popped into his head. He then wrapped a caring hoof around Natures Fury's shoulders that got her attention, and she looked at Burning Axe.
"Don't worry, Nature." Burning Axe said reassuringly. "I won't let that happen. I promise."
"Really?" Natures Fury asked.
Burning Axe nodded. "Really. I'm going to use my talent of playing guitar to help you pay off your debt. And all the money I make with it will go to you."
Natures Fury put her head up hopefully. "You will? You'll do that for me?"
"Of coarse. And if I don't raise enough money, and if you end up losing your house, you can move in with me. There's no way I'm going to let the mare I love be homeless. I'd do anything for you."
Natures Fury began to smile hopefully, with small tears of joy forming in her eyes, before wrapping her hooves around her brown pegasus stallion . "Oh, thank you, Burning Axe. You're so sweet."

Seeing no one was at the desk, he rang the service bell and waited, until a middle-aged, whitish-purple unicorn mare with gingerish-red mane and tail tied in a bun, and dark red framed, pointed-edge glasses came out to serve Burning Axe.
“Can I help you?” She asked bluntly.
"Uh...hi." Burning Axe cleared his throat. "My name is Burning Axe, and I'd like to place an ad in the local newspaper."
"Let's see your advertisement please."
Burning Axe reached into his side bag, pulled out a slip of paper in his mouth, and place it on the service deck. The service desk mare then levitated the slip of paper with her magic, adjusted her glasses, and began to read it.

Night Shade took over. "We're here in regards to the ad we read in the paper this morning."
"Wow! That was quick." Burning Axe thought before speaking up. "Ah, yes. Well you came to the right place. I am Burning Axe. And you must be in need of a entertainer?"
Star Shower nodded. "Oh, yes. We definitely do."
"By tonight."

"I know this is on such sort notice." Star Shower cleared his throat. "But our original performer was cancelled yesterday because he's unfortunately sick with the flu."
"So when we saw your ad in the paper, we came to you. It's not too much trouble for you to do it on this short notice, is it?"

Five o'clock came quickly. "Well, now." Star Shower said. "Why don't you sit down, and make yourself at home?"
Night Shade walked over to one of the barrels with three cider cup being levitated by her magic. "And how about a nice drink of apple cider?"

Burning Axe looked up, looking confused as to the words she said "help set you up", and the way she said it. All of a sudden, his vision briefly blurred out of focus, as he began to feel strange. Burning Axe began to tremble and whimper with fear, thinking of the horrors of what was to possibly come from his changeling captors.
