A Split Personality
Chapter 3 - The Nightmare
Previous ChapterPinkamena galloped down a long hallway. Gasping for air and glancing at the pictures on the walls, she reached the end of the hallway to find a door. She opened the door with her hoof, and she saw her friends.
Pinkamena's friends were mocking her. Teasing her. Making her cry. Pinkamena couldn't take it. She galloped out of the room and back down the long hallway. Quickly, she stopped when she saw Pinkie Pie standing in front of her.
"Pinkie?" Pinkamena asked softly. Her voice still echoed off the walls in a disturbing way.
Pinkie Pie looked at Pinkamena for a moment, then spoke. "You've been sad for so long...don't you want it to stop? I sure do," Pinkie said.
"Yeah. Wait, I thought you were cheerful all the time. I'm supposed to be the sad one, so why're you...crying?" Pinkamena asked.
"Becasue I have to go through everything you go through! Every tear, every insult you get, every mean comment ponies whisper behind your back...I go through all of it with you," Pinkie explained between small sobs.
"I...I had no idea. I feel so sorry for you," Pinamena said.
"It's ok. But I do need a favor...stop being so sad," Pinkie said.
Pinkamena didn't know how to respond. Breaking the silence, the walls of the room began to quickly shut on the two mares. Before they closed all the way...
Pinkamena woke up in a cold sweat. Checking te time, she realized that it was 8 A.M. already! She had overslept! She wasn't excited about leaving her room, though. She wanted to be isolated in a room where she could try to hold off her sadness withougt making it worse. But would her sadness actually go away if she isolated herself from other ponies? She didn't know the answer, but she was going to find out.
