My Love For Rarity

Chapter 1: Revealing My Secret Love

Load Full StoryNext Chapter

The lunch bell rings, as everyone, including myself walked out of the classroom. My name is Johnny Beck. I have brown hair, blue eyes, wearing glasses and I love wearing shirts of things I like. As of now, I'm wearing a long-sleeved Pink Floyd shirt, since they are my favorite band that my family enjoyed when they were my age. Besides my love for Pink Floyd, I also love to read books; my favorites are fantasy and science fiction. At the moment, I just started reading Descent into the Depths of the Earth, which is part of a trilogy that I got into. Sadly, I read the third book before this one, so I'm pretty much off. The third book was really good and is called Queen of the Demonweb Pits. I'm also into anime such as Princess Jellyfish, One Punch Man, Devilman, and many others (mostly the retro stuff). My friend isn't a huge anime fan, but she does like a few. Her name is Fleur and she has been a friend with me since freshman year. Why is she a friend with a nerdy guy like me? I have no idea myself. Besides her being one of the prettiest girls on campus, there is one girl who I find the most prettiest of them all: Rarity. I had a crush on her since freshman year, but like almost every guy who has a crush, I was too afraid to talk to her. I don't know much about her, either than the fact that she's a designer and would like to take over her mother's boutique when she graduates. I can't take her off of my mind every time I see her or when she says 'hello' to me when she walks past me. I always shake nervously and say 'hi' back and always run away like a coward. I wish there was some way I can talk to her and possibly get her to fall for me, but I don't know whom to ask. Besides, her being with me hand-in-hand will probably ruin her image.

As I made it to the cafeteria, I looked around and spotted Fleur catching my attention my waving her hand to me. I smiled and walked over to her. As I sat down by her, she places a small bad of three diamond-shaped cookies in front of me.

"Had some extra cookies," said Fleur, "one of my friends had a birthday and gave me some cookies."

"Thanks, Fleur," I said, as I take the bag and put it inside my pack.

As I pull out my ham sandwich and place it in front of myself, I notice Rarity siting with her friends two tables ahead. My vision went blurry, except for Rarity. All around her were roses and a red and blue bird flying past my vision. My God, was she beautiful.

"Johnny, dear," said Fleur, getting my attention off of Rarity, as my vision went back to normal.

I look over to Fleur, as she taps her index finger.

"Something's on your mind?"

"Not really," I said, as I look away from her and take a bite into my sandwich.

"Don't play coy with me. Something is indeed on your mind. Care to tell?"

"It's…embarrassing."

"Come on, dear. You can tell me. I'm your friend, aren't I?"

I place my sandwich down and took in an inhale, then exhaled.

"I…I have a crush on someone," I explained.

Fleur had a girly look and began to squeal silently. I never seen her in 'gaga mode' since I showed her my cat Amano Jaku. She then takes in an exhale to calm herself down and looks back to me with interest.

"Care to tell me who?"

"Well…it's a girl I had a crush on since…freshman year."

"Oh? What's she like?"

"Well, I don't know much about her, either than the fact that she loves to design."

"Really? What's her name?"

"It's…it's…it's…"

I was feeling tongue-tied, trying to tell Fleur about who I'm in love with.

"Spit it out, darling. Who?"

"Rarity," I muttered.

"Who?"

"…Rarity."

She gasped and paused for five seconds before patting my shoulder.

"You're in love with Rarity?"

"I am."

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"Well…I was thinking that you might think she's out of my league."

"Nonsense. If you're in love with Rarity, than I approve."

"You mean it?"

"Of course."

"Well…I feel much better now."

"Why don't you go talk to her?"

"Talk to her? I can barely even say many words to her when she says 'hi' to me when she passes by me."

"All boys are like that at first," explained Fleur, "Fancy Pants was like that when he fell for me and gosh, was it adorable. It is rather sad that he's over at Crystal Prep and I'm over here at Canterlot High; it's like Romeo & Juliet."

"What should I do? I'm too much of a coward to talk to her."

"First off, I want you to pack your things, walk over to her and ask if it's okay to sit with her and her friends. If possible, try talking to Rarity when you get the chance. Don't worry, I'll text you the things you can ask her, okay?"

"I guess I can do that," I said, as I packed away my sandwich.

"Don't fret, darling. I'll be texting you what you need to ask her. Stay calm and be yourself."

"Okay then," I said, as I stood up and placed my pack on my back, "here I go."

"That's the spirit."

I gave in a sharp gulp, as I walked up to the girls chattering. They seem to be in depth with their talking, that I would be rude to interrupt them, but I had a little of courage within myself.

"U-um, excuse me," I said, getting the seven friends their attention, "m-mind if I sit with you girls?"

"Why certainly, darling," said Rarity, as she moves a little for me to sit down beside her, "sit."

My heart was racing, as I sat down and sat silently.

"What's your name, sugarcube," asked the southern girl.

"My name is Johnny," I replied.

"My name is Applejack."

"The names Rainbow Dash," said the girl with rainbow hair.

"Pinkie," said the girl with poofy hair.

"Fluttershy," said the girl with pink hair with a bit of shyness.

"My name is Twilight," said the girl with glasses.

"I'm Sunset," said the girl with bacon-colored hair.

"I am Rarity," said the girl with purple, "I say 'hi' to you when I pass by you every time I see you."

"Sorry, if I don't reply back," I said nervously, as I began to feel sweat coming down my forehead.

"Darling, are you okay," asked Rarity, "you're sweating."

"Why are you so sweaty?" asked Pinkie.

I then got a text from Fleur and pulled out my phone from my pocket.

Say that it's a hot day

I look back to Rarity and awkwardly laughed.

"It's a hot day," I said to Rarity.

"Then why are you wearing a long-sleeved shirt?"

I got another text from Fleur and opened my texts to read it

Tell her that you had no idea it was gonna be this hot today. You're such a dummy.

I look back to Rarity and took in a gulp.

"I-I had no idea that today was gonna be hot. I'm such a dummy," I said with another awkward laugh.

"It's okay, darling," said Rarity, "the weather makes mistakes sometimes."

"True."

"Would you like to hang out with us tomorrow during lunch, darling?"

My face felt hot, it was as though my face was gonna explode.

"Sure…I'd love to," I replied.

"Great."

"Woohoo! New friend!" shouts Pinkie.

As the girls clapped for being one of their friends, I joined in on the clapping before I got another text from Fleur.

If you don't mind, would you like kisses from me when I see you later?

"What?" I said silently.

"Something wrong, darling?" asked Rarity.

"W-w-would you like k-kisses from me when I s-see you l-later?"

Rarity and the other girls looked at me with shock. I stood there with an embarrassed stare when suddenly the bell rang. I immediately got up and made a stupid smile.

"Sorryforsayingthatgottagobye," I said, as I immediately ran out of the lunchroom and sped walked down the hall to my next class.

"Johnny!" shouted Fleur from behind me, as she came up to me, "I'm so sorry. I meant to send that text to Fancy Pants. I'm very sorry."

"Thanks for making things worse," I grunted to her, as I walked into my class.

Throughout my school time, I was pretty pissed.

As the final bell rings, I marched my way out of my school and headed straight towards my car. As I jumped in and closed the door, Fleur taps on the window.

"Please lower the window," said Fleur.

I sighed and lowered the window.

"What do you want?"

"Darling, I'm very sorry. Please forgive me. I wasn't paying attention to who I was texting. Please!"

I let out a sigh and unlocked the car.

"Would you like a ride home?"

Fleur smiles and rushed over to the right and jumped in. As she buckles, as places her handbag under her feet and gives me another smile.

"Sorry, for being a jerk," I said, as my eyes began to tear up.

Fleur's smille went down, as I began crying on top of the wheel. I'm such a crybaby, ever since I was born. Fleur places her hand on my back and pats.

"I forgive you, darling," she said in a calming voice, "it should be me who should feel terrible."

I look up to her and wiped the tears from my eyes.

"Here," said Fleur, as she holds out to me a handkerchief, "wipe away your tears."

"Thanks, Fleur," I said, as I wiped away my tears and gave her a hug.

"There, there," she said, "I'm sorry things didn't work out."

"I think she hates me."

"I'm not sure, but I think she might be embarrassed."

"I'll apologize tomorrow when I see her," I said, as I gave Fleur her handkerchief back.

"That seems like a good idea," said Fleur, as I started the vehicle and began moving out of the student parking.

As we drove around Canterlot town to get to the condos where Fleur lives in, it was a rather silent drive. After what happened earlier, I didn't know what to say. Suddenly, Fleur snaps her fingers. It caught my attention, as we made a stop at a red light.

"What's up," I asked.

"Johnny, I'd like you to stay with me tonight," asked Fleur out of the blue.

"Huh? Why?"

"I'm gonna teach you some lessons on how to be fancy and be a gentlemen to women."

"You serious?"

"I am indeed, darling."

"I bet your gonna ask me to read those magazines like 'Long, Tan, and Handsome', right?"

"No, no, no," said Fleur, as she shook her right hand, "those magazines are trek to me."

The light goes green, as I continued driving.

"I'll teach you how to be a man and how you should treat a proper lady," continued Fleur.

"I guess I can stay with you for the night," I said, "It's not like I'm gonna do anything like you-know-what."

"Oh, no, darling. Keep those dirty thoughts out of your mind, especially when you're with any lady, including myself."

"I will. What, do you think I always think of stuff like that everyday?"

"Never."

"Good to know."

I take another left, as we drove past by Berry Street.

"Good thing Amano has enough food for the night," I thought to myself.
