An Odd Being

"Come ON Fluttershy!" I hear Rainbow say. "You have to FLY!"

"B-but Rainbow... I-I don't want to," I hear Fluttershy say back. I trot up to them.

"Guys! There's a bigger problem here than Fluttershy not wanting to fly!" This gets both of their attention.

"Wh-what is it, Pinkie?" Fluttershy asks me.

"Yeah! What is it? Hunh? What?" Rainbow is too hyper sometimes, and that's coming from me.

"It's an Odd. An Odd is a strange creature that looks like a giant noodle but it walks on four huge legs and it eats apples."

"So? I'm not seeing the problem." Did I mention Rainbow is arrogant? Add that to the list, too.

"There's an Odd in Pony Ville! It's headed to AJ's farm!" They both gasp.

"Oh no!" Fluttershy says. "There are so many animals in there that are going to get so scared!" That's just like Fluttershy. Looking past the big things to are about the small. That's what I like about her. I'm not sure she likes me, though.

We all race to AJ's farm. Sure enough, there's the Odd, eating away. It's stripping all the apples from each tree and shoving them in it's mouth then moving on to the next tree.

Rainbow trots straight up to the Odd. Me and Fluttershy try to stop her but she's too stubborn. Add that to her personality list, too. She trots straight up to the Odd and says, "Hey! You! Odd thingy! Stop eating my friend's apples!"

It burps in her face and says, "Make me." I guess Odds are rude, too. Along with disgusting. I stick out my tongue at it and make a farty sound. It wasn't a very good idea. Fluttershy shoots me a look that says, "RUN!" so I take off.

I don't even dare look back. I know the Odd is chasing me. All I can think is how Fluttershy knew it was going to chase me. That's when it hits me. She always knows just what to do. So, I start thinking like her. I turn around and give the Odd my biggest cute face ever. It stops in its tracks and goes, "Aww..."

Then I start walking towards it, all the while with my cute face. Fluttershy walks up behind it and gives it a nudge. It whips around, startled. I think, she's dead, but instead it gives her a kiss.

"So, Mr. Odd," I say. "How come you're here?"

Purring, it replies, "I'm doing... uh... research. Yeah. Research."

I see Apple Jack walking up, looking at her poor trees. "What the heck's goin' on out here? I looked out the window and saw half of my beautiful crop stripped bare, and it's almost Applebuck season!" AJ's eyes fill up with tears.

"No, no, no! Don't cry, AJ!" I say. I hate it when ponies cry. "We'll help you..." I can't finish the sentence. I don't know how we'll help.

"Odd, say you're sorry!" Rainbow says. That's when my foot starts twitching again. It won't stop. The entire time the Odd is apologizing, my foot is vibrating. As soon as he says his final "I'm sorry" my foot goes dead.Something's up. I have no idea what, but something about the Odd is... Odd. I don't trust him.
