Changing Time

I'm a changeling, well, sort of, it's complicated. My mom is Queen Chrysalis, the ruler of all changelings.  My dad however, is a pony influenced by so much dark magic I'm surprised I'm not evil! He was royalty as well, and his name was King Sombra. Before he was turned into an evil shadow. As for me, well I'm basically the most complicated one out there. I guess I should begin my journey before going much further! First and foremost, my name is Candy, and I live with my mom in the horrible wastelands outside of Equestria. They aren't far from Canterlot though, which is where my story begins.

My mom had taken me to Canterlot to show me  how much love was there. She worried about me, thinking I was evil. I didn't blame her for worrying though, there are a lot of upsides and downsides to being a changeling hybrid, especially since I'm only the second one with this much dark magic! The first one was my older sister, they learned almost everything about me from her. How I react to healing spells, how I react to injuries, how I can feed. When it comes down to my abilities though, that gets complicated. Let's just say I learn from the pony.

"Ah, here we are!" my mom said in delight as we approached the castle, disguised as Luna and her daughter. "This is where we will do what we do best! When the wedding comes, we'll be able to take over with ease!"

"After we feed right?" I asked.

"Oh of course, how else will we grow strong!" she smiled, looking up at the castle. "Come on, lets take a look around!" she said, changing into a royal guard, I made sure no pony saw her while she changed of course. She looked around as I changed into another royal guard, and then we went in.

After leaving the castle, I saw a filly next to a tree, crying. "Hey mom!" I called to her as she was walking off as Luna once more, "I'll catch up I left something in the castle!"

"Okay, just don't be too long, we're going to Ponyville to get dinner tonight!" she said, flying off. I looked back at the filly and walked over, changing into my normal bat-pony form.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

"N-n-no...some bullies stole my d-doll" she sniffled, I saw three colts with a doll that looked like a bat pony right over her shoulder.

"Them?" I asked, pointing to the colts.

"Yes..." she said shakily. I flew over, and started by talking to them before anything.

"Hey, can I have that doll back please?" I asked, they only looked at me and laughed, pointing to my fangs in my bat bony form. "I said," I was speaking through clenched teeth now, "can I have that doll back PLEASE." They continued to laugh, and I did what I never thought I'd do in public. I changed into my changeling form and hissed at them. I changed back before any pony else saw, and handed the doll to the filly as the colts ran off.

"Thanks," she said, I smiled at her, "I'm Sunburst, you probably know that though, me being the daughter of Princess Celestia and all."

"I didn't know that, I'm Candy. A...changeling." I waited for her to run off. She didn't to my happy surprise.

"Neat! Want to be friends??" I simply nodded in delight.

"Here," I took out a piece of paper from my saddlebag and wrote out directions to the wastelands, "don't come too close but if you want to hang out some time, you can find me there, and please don't tell any pony about me. I might be taken as evil."

"You got it!" Sunburst said, "Although my cousin Starburst IS trustworthy."

"She's the only one you have permission to tell, I trust Starburst." I winked at her and changed into Starburst quickly. Sunburst winked back, before flying off.

At home I was happier than ever, but I hid it from my mom because I didn't want her to ask why. I simply fed off of love in Ponyville, and went to bed. Thankfully my mom isn't Luna, because my dreams were better than ever that night! I was dreaming that no pony feared me, and that Sunburst and I could just roam around having fun, me changing all the time, playing around. In a week though, that would all change.
