Changing Time
A Blank Page
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI got my invention back from the doctor today, "Thank you, Candy, for letting me borrow your device for a while." Doctor said, "Again, I'm sorry if either I or John scared you."
"It's okay," I smiled, "John explained everything that I needed to know."
"Oh, well, that's good!" Doctor smiled back, "I'm still very confused on how you were able to make it stay in a time period as long as you want. But, I won't pester you with it. I'll leave that to Mr. Lover-foal over there."
"Oh I'm happy to show you, it's just hard to explain that's all." I glimpsed over at John for a second, "Although, I would like to wait until I'm ready to show you."
"It's alright," Doctor said, "No need to. I'll figure it out sooner or later. But your lover won't." He laughed a bit at his own statement.
"Okay, and if you ever come across some changeling resources that you can't figure out, give me a call." I winked at the doctor before he transported out. I turned over to John only to see that he was lying on the ground!
"JOHN!" I wanted to know if he was asleep or if he actually fainted, so I waited to see if he would start to sleep talk. After a couple minutes of mumbling I managed to decode something that John was saying. T-H-E-D-A-L-E-K-S-S-H-A-L-L-R-U-L-E-A-L-L, that was the code that I deciphered. I didn't know if it was important or not, so I wrote it down in one of the journals that John and I use to keep track of experiment progress. I closed the journal after writing the code down, and saw that it was John's. I opened it back up to find the page with the code, but as I flipped through the pages I realized that they were all blank. I looked at the only page with writing on it, which was the page I wrote on. I copied the code down into my own journal, and started to pace around the lab. Why are his pages blank when I see him write in the journal all the time? I didn't see any ripped pages, I only saw slightly stained pages. John woke up right then and there.
"What happened?" John asked me.
"You passed out," I started, "and you um...you said something."
"What did I say?" John asked, rubbing his head as he got up. I took out my journal and showed him the page with the code on it. "We need to get to the Doctor now!" Before I could ask why, John had teleported us to the doctors spot in the forest. "Doc! It's the Daleks! They're coming!" John said, knocking on the invisible box furiously. Doctor came out slamming the invisible door into my face by mistake.
"OW!" I yelped as I rubbed my now bloody nose. Doctor looked over at me, seeing the blood.
"Sorry about that Candy, there are first aid supplies inside," he said, motioning towards the open doorway to something, "I would help myself but there is something terrible about to happen that I must stop. You need to stay here Candy, John and I must deal with these things ourselves. It would be to dangerous for you, I'm sorry." He then turned to John before I could ask him what this was all about, "John, let's go." Then they both teleported away using John's watch. I limped into the open doorway and closed the visible door behind me.
"Woah." I said as I looked around the big area. It looked similar to the lab, only much bigger and with more advanced machinery. I looked around the large space in wonder, and then my eyes stopped on the first aid kit. I limped over and put a band-aid on my nose, where it had been bleeding. I used my own teleportation watch, which I had upgraded a while back, to bring my saddlebag, my doll, and both journals to me. I looked at the two journals open side by side, blank pages all over John's. I assumed that I would be in the area a while, so I decided to get some thinking done.
After a little while the door to the area started to open, I quickly put both journals in my saddlebag and teleported everything back to my bed. When Doctor walked in I saw that he had a slight limp, and was carrying John on his back. They were both bleeding all over.
"WHAT HAPPENED?!" I asked in a concerned voice.
"Candy, I need you to go back home for a bit," Doctor said, "John needs for me to help him"
I stood there in silence, just staring.
"Candy, I'm sorry, but this is beyond your knowledge, or any pony's. I need you to go home." Doctor said with a sigh, seeing that I was obviously wanting to know what was going on.
"But...I want to help him..." before I knew it tears were streaming down my face, and I was holding back my angry red glow, which surrounded me, even though I wasn't completely red yet.
"He is dying, but if I hurry, I can help him." Doctor rubbed his head, "There is something that he can do to prevent death, but he doesn't want to, for you. He would probably forget you, and he doesn't want that." Doctor quickly ran into a hallway, I followed. He made so many turns that I eventually lost him. I just went back to the room I was in before and started to cry.
It had been a day, I teleported my doll and the journals into the room with me, so I could try to distract myself. It didn't help that much. Suddenly, Doctor came into the room.
"John will live," he said, "however, he can't fly for a few more days. The muscles still need to heal, and he had damage to them. But he can go back home. He sort of made that decision himself." I smiled as I wiped away my tears. "He also can't get too worried about anything for a few days. His left heart is still a little weak."
"Can I...see him?" I asked, calming down.
"Well, he's right here." Doctor said, as John limped out from behind him. I limped over to him.
"You're okay." I said in a shaky voice, I smiled as tears rolled down my face from joy.
"Well, you could say that." John said, "I could be better."
"I'm just glad that you're alive." I said.
"I am too love." John said with a smile.
