Changing Time

John started coming around less and less, he seemed exhausted each time I did see him. I was worried about him, but worried about something else at the same time. I was in Canterlot one day as Starburst for a change. I gave Starburst a potion I made and we swapped spots for fun. Being a hybrid, I have to adapt somehow! So I invent my own potions to keep me, well, alive! We were playing around when I wanted to ask Luna something, but when I saw her with Celestia around the corner, she seemed worried.  She was talking about Discord teaming up with my mom! I asked Starburst if she knew what was up, she didn't.

After hearing Luna and Celestia in Canterlot, I had been worried for days! My mom had mentioned something to me back when I was in the wastelands with her, about a spell to bring dad back, but he needed a being to take over once she cast the back to life spell she made AND some pony with a lot of power to cast the spell! I met up with John and all the worries went away, until he said some pony was after him. We hid out in an attic he used to live in with food and comfort. He was worried they'd come after me. We had a couple milkshakes and started to fall asleep. I moaned right before hand, I knew what was about to happen.

"Run..." I managed to say "RUN!" I transformed into my changeling form, only I had purple eyes instead of my natural red ones, and a red amulet around my neck.

John just stood there in shock. My eyes glowed with this green aura around them.

"Ah, you must be the one she likes," my dad's voice came out of my mouth as the amulet glowed with each word. John stood there frozen as I spoke. "She seemed to have only one real friend until you...it's understandable." An evil grin spread across my face, I couldn't help it wasn't me in control.

John came to realize what was up, and he flew off as quickly as possible! I gained a bit of control seeing him flee, and my own voice came out as I flew slowly and shakily after him, "John! Wait!"

I was tearing up when I heard my dad again "It is no use, you are mine now!" I was heart broken, still momentarily in control I did the one thing I could think to do! In my natural form I had a tiny unicorn horn hidden underneath my mane, so in my more powerful changeling form I could cast spells. I cast a spell removing my horn from my natural bat pony form, and in the last seconds that my dad had control of me, he simply chuckled and looked at John.

"You will never have our approval." Those were his last words before dying inside of me. Then the amulet broke, my eyes turned red again, and I changed back into my natural bat pony form. With no horn hidden under my mane, I stumbled up from the sudden light headed feeling. My changeling form still had a horn, but now only to change. I could only cast spells as another unicorn that I change into. I looked at John, remembering every word my dad said to him.

John just stared at me, I could tell he was thinking of what he had heard. He blushed before asking me something. "When he said like...did he mean as a friend?" I blushed widely and tried to run off, but I stumbled because of my bandaged hoof. I fell on the ground and nursed the sore hoof, only to look up and see John walking towards me.

"I uh..." I stammered as I tried to speak.

John simply helped me up, smiled ,and said one word before flying off, "Along'sy." I just stared off into the distance, before limping away myself.

I was back in Canterlot as Sunburst, and today was, in the words of Pinkie Pie, a doozy...I was once again playing with Starburst. She went to ask Luna something, when Discord came in. I was still furious at him because I KNEW he helped my mom. He WAS sorry but he never apologized to me, not that he would know to. I lashed out at him in front of Luna, and Starburst. I changed into my regular bat pony form, only bright red all over.

"YOU AREN'T SORRY!!!" I shouted, realizing what I have done I changed into my normal colored bat pony form. "I..."

Luna was still looking at me, "Starburst, is this your friend?" I looked over at Starburst, shocked.

"Sorry Candy, she was asking why you were acting weird as Sunburst..."

I looked back up at Luna. She was smiling, "I hear you're a bit timid, and that you have trouble at night." I nodded, and she said something that made me just too happy, she said, "I can help with that...my student."
