The Dazzlings Get Ahold Of The Tell-All
Get Brass
Previous ChapterAdagio Dazzle waved to her girlfriend as she stepped into the apartment complex. She started towards the elevator and pressed the button, eager to read the book with the two sirens. The siren waited five minutes before she repeatedly tapped the button. Inside the shaft, the cable holding the old box snapped, causing it to fall four floors to the basement.
"Well, fuck I guess I'm taking the stairs."
She groaned, reluctantly walking up the four flights of stairs to her hallway, passing the few rooms her neighbors stayed in. Outside her apartment, she pulled out the key in her pocket. The blonde looked at the door, seeing a note from another tenant.
'Hello! I was just wondering if you were interested in joining us for--'
And that was as far as Adagio got before she crumpled up the paper and tossed it away. The eldest siren unlocked her door, barging in the room to see her friends waiting on the couch watching a cooking show. Adagio walked to the TV and shut it off.
"Hey! We were learning how to make cinnamon rolls!" Sonata Dusk pouted, her cheeks puffing out.
Aria Blaze started to protest, but she got a look at the book in Adagio's hand. "You got one? What did you do, mug a kid for it?"
"You could say that," Adagio grinned, chipping off the blood from the book. "Get over here, let's see what they said about us." She flipped it open and began to search through the book for the pages the trio shared.
"Just a bunch of rainbows and butterflies. It's sickening," Aria spat the words as she looked over her older sister's shoulder.
"I liked her!" Sonata pointed at a gray girl with yellow eyes, both of which were crossed.
Adagio ignored them, skimming the pages. She stopped when she saw her own beautiful smirk. She grinned once again, but as soon as she read the title her stare turned cold and malicious. There it was in big, bold print.
"What Was The Worst Thing About The Dazzlings?!" Adagio roared.
Aria did a double-take. "Are you fucking kidding me?!"
"Even Fluttershy had something bad to say!" Sonata whined, sticking her bottom lip out.
"How we sang without our pendants?! Oh, Dash you fucking hypocrite, you can't even say your own name without your damn voice cracking!" Aria stormed to the wall, punching it. Luckily, there was no hole this time, which meant they could keep their emergency stash this month and not give it to their money-grubbing landlord for "damage repair".
"Oh, Shimmer, when I get my hands on you a broken nose will be the least of your problems!" Adagio threw the book at the couch, yelling out in anger. "Sonata. Get the car. We're paying the Rainbooms a visit."
Without hesitation, the middle siren picked up the book, walked to the front door, got the keys, and stormed out with her sirens.
"Those god damn goody-goodies will be breathing and eating with tubes when we're done," Aria growled as the three piled into their yellow '89 Charger.
"It really doesn't look that bad, Sunset," Twilight whispered as she gently held an icepack to her girlfriend's face.
Sunset scoffed as she sat in the emergency room with her. Despite the fact that her face was finally clean, her nose was slit and her septum was violently bent to the left. She looked at the fluorescent lights on the ceiling, wondering how her X-rays looked.
"I mean it. You're still beautiful," Twilight said under her breath. The scientist pulled out her phone to check her messages, quickly sending a text to update the three girls in the parking lot.
As she slid her phone into her jean pocket, a nurse with pink hair and blue eyes stepped in with a thin folder.
"Sunset Shimmer?" After a nod of confirmation, she continued, "I'm Nurse Redheart. I have your X-rays right here." The young nurse placed them in the light screen, clicking it on to show the image.
"As you can see, there's a lot of bruising around this area," she pointed to the right side of the image, circling it with her pen. "There is a lot of swelling inside the nasal cavity, but here's the fracture. Your septum has completely broken. You said someone kicked you, so it's not uncommon that this is the outcome. Would you like us to fix it here?"
Sunset Shimmer gulped. The X-rays looked bad, but her nose hurt worse. She wanted it feeling better as quick as possible.
"Do whatever you can, please," she hesitantly said, taking a shaky breath.
Nurse Redheart smiled reassuringly, walking back out to the busy emergency room.
"You'll be okay, Sunny. They'll get your nose back to normal and cast it, just like that!" Twilight gave her a big, optimistic smile, gripping her hand tight.
The fiery-haired girl calmed down at the sight of her girlfriend, but as soon as the doctor walked back in with the casting nurse, her anxiety paraded back to the front of her mind.
Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash stood in the parking lot, waiting for some sort of good news. They all went about their business before the sound of screeching tires peeling into the hospital parking lot. The trio's stomachs all dropped in unison as they saw the Dazzlings pile out of the sleek yellow car. Rainbow Dash jumped down from the hood of Rarity's car, glaring at the three sirens that strutted their way.
The Dazzlings stopped a few feet away from the group, her teeth clenched and her face twisted with rage.
"Where is Sunset Shimmer?" the leader spat, her eye almost twitching.
"Why do you care?" Rainbow Dash replied with just as much venom in her voice.
The blonde woman glared at the rainbow-haired girl, clenching her fists.
"Because you all decided to make two full pages of siren-shaming!" Sonata chimed in, looking more hurt than angry.
The Rainbooms looked at one another, clueless as to what the Dazzlings were saying. Rainbow Dash looked to Rarity, who looked to Applejack. AJ shrugged, shaking her head.
"Oh for the love of! Here!" Aria took the book from Sonata and shoved it in their faces. Rarity delicately took the book, flipping through it until she got to the aforementioned pages.
"Oh dear. I'm so sorry, girls, we didn't-" Rarity started.
"Know those answers would be published?" the lead singer once again growled, glaring at the three. "Apology not accepted. Now back to my first question, where is Sunset Shimmer?"
Twilight Sparkle listened as a loud pop could be heard over her girlfriend's screaming. She was nauseated and her hand hurt from the squeezing Sunset had put her through, but she never complained. Sunset is her girlfriend and like it or not, she needed to be by her side for such an ordeal.
"There, see? Casting wasn't bad at all!" the doctor chuckled.
Twilight saw the glare Sunset gave him, taking her hand and rubbing it gently to calm the fiery-tempered girl.
"Sunny, he's just trying to make light of this situation."
Sunset scoffed, "Yeah, sure."
Twilight gave her a nudge in the ribs, careful to only tap her bruises.
"Ow. Okay, you're right.. I'm sorry Doctor..?"
"Whooves. And it's quite alright. I've dealt with worse patients," he chuckled. "I'm only kidding, Miss Shimmer. You're free to go. Just come back in a month and we'll check on that injury, okay?"
"Thank you, Dr. Whooves."
Twilight helped Sunset down, putting the former pony's arm over her shoulder. She carefully helped her pained girlfriend walk out to the parking lot, but when Sunset stopped walking Twilight gave her a puzzled look.
"Sunset, what is it?"
Sunset didn't answer, only stared ahead. Twilight Sparkle followed her gaze, her eyes resting on the trio of seemingly malevolent women staring down her friends. She pulled her girlfriend along, knocking Sunset Shimmer out of her trance.
"Um, excuse me, ladies? Can we help you?" the purple girl asked the sirens, gaining their attention. The trio stared at her, then immediately flicked their gaze to Sunset Shimmer.
"Why yes, you can, Twilight Sprinkle, we've been looking for her. We need to talk to Sunset Shimmer," Adagio answered, her anger evident in her mocking tone.
"It's Sparkle, and why?"
"Listen, four-eyes, we really don't care who you are. You aren't in this book, so we don't have beef with you. Yet. So, let go of the little pony, and you won't get hurt," Aria stepped forward, getting in Twilight's face.
Sunset brushed Twilight off, urging her to go to their friends. "I can handle this, Twilight."
"But, Suns-"
"Get back, Twilight."
Twilight hung her head, walking back to the three girls on guard.
"What do you three want? I've had a horrible day," Sunset asked, less than amused at the three girls currently glaring her way.
"We want to know what makes you think you're perfect," the purple siren retorted, gritting her teeth. "What gives you the right to say the crap you did about us."
Sunset stared blank-faced at them. "What are you talking about?"
"The book, you moron!" Sonata spoke up, gaining a surprised look from her fellow sirens. Apparently she can come up with good insults. Well, good for Sonata standards.
"What book?"
She jumped back as the book was thrown at her feet. "The Tell-All? How would you three know about this? They're for students only! Why would you ha-"
Sunset never finished that sentence. The dried blood on the book spoke for her. Her face twisted in anger as she stared at the three sirens.
"...which one of you did this to me?!" Celestia's former pupil shouted, for the first time in a long while, she felt like hurting someone.
Adagio Dazzle wasn't shy, she stepped forward without hesitation. "I'm the one who beat you down, Sunny. Who else?" Adagio punctuated her statement with a sinister grin. "And now, we're going to beat you all for talking shit about us."
And with that, she punched Sunset in the stomach, keeping her sinister grin. Rainbow Dash bolted to Sunset Shimmer's defense, knocking Adagio in the back of the head. Aria jumped Applejack, and Sonata went after Rarity. The three sirens quickly beat the girls into submission, humiliating them in the process.
The lead Dazzling quickly knocked Rainbow Dash into a nearby car, busting her lip and nose open. She slammed her into it once more to make sure she would be out for a while. The lead Dazzling found out Sunset's cast hurt herself more than it did Sunset, so she focused on her ribs and head instead of her face. The siren kicked the former unicorn while she was down, making Sunset spit out blood. She then stomped Sunset's head into the asphalt, busting the skin open. She didn't stop, either.
The youngest siren proved she was a good match for the farmgirl, though Aria had to tackle Applejack to get her on the ground. She pounded the blonde's head into the asphalt, yelling swears at her. She punched Applejack in the lip, shredding it before Rarity ran to aid her girlfriend. Sonata held the fashionista back by her arms, pinning her and making her watch Aria beat the hell out of her girlfriend. Blaze held her heel to Applejack's back, making sure to hold her down. She raised a fist to Rarity before she called out.
"WAIT! Not the face! Or the groin, or the stomach, or the arms or legs! Nothing in the chest either!" Rarity pleaded, her eyes welling with tears.
Sonata looked confused for a moment, and Rarity took advantage of that. The dramatic girl bashed the back of her head into Sonata's face, stunning the siren. Twilight Sparkle ran up behind Aria, having taken out her emergency pepper spray. She yelled to get the youngest siren's attention, spraying her eyes when she turned around.
Aria Blaze shrieked, falling back and to the ground. Applejack got up, disorientation and bleeding not stopping the resilience of the farmer, she ran up behind Adagio and bashed her over the head with her forearm. The eldest siren held her pounding head, finally knocked out of her trance-like state. She stared down at the broken and bloody Sunset, grinning again before scooping up the book and running over to her friends. Rarity stayed with the three as Twilight ran back into the hospital to get help.
"Aria, get up! We gotta go before they call the cops!" Sonata Dusk was yanking on her sister's arm, but the purple siren didn't want to move. Her eyes burned like crazy, and she couldn't see even if she wanted to get up and run.
"Sonata, grab her legs! There's no time!" Adagio hoisted her youngest sister up by her shoulders. As Sonata grabbed her legs, they opened the back seat and tossed Aria inside. The blue siren shoved her over and hopped into the seat beside her younger sister. Dazzle was already starting the car as Sonata buckled herself and Aria up, the blonde peeled out of the parking lot just as the paramedics had run out with the human Twilight. The sirens had gotten away, but half the Rainbooms were broken. This meant they had to lay low for a while, but that didn't matter to the grinning siren in the driver seat. Sure, they'd have to live in their crummy hideout in the city slums for a few months, but she didn't care. She had won this battle. She had gotten her revenge on the Rainbooms, and especially Sunset Shimmer. She had won, and they were broken. None of that compared to the almost forgotten feeling in her soul. What made her happy is that she wanted more. She loved seeing them in pain, and she loved the way she and her Dazzlings stirred up negativity again. Best of all, she could feel that they felt it too. Maybe there was hope after all.
Maybe they could be sirens again.
