A Whole New World

I stood in the back of the makeshift stage that was set up for the reveal of my presence. I straightened my shirt as my hands started to shake.

“You shouldn't be worried, it will be fine.” Derpy says as she stood next to me. “I think you're brave for doing this.” Derpy adds leaning against me.

I place a hand on her back and my shaking calms a bit. “It's been a few days Derpy, what if the mayor revealed the truth or gossiped to the wrong pony?”

“We would have seen something before now, right?”

I sigh. “Yeah, you're right. I just...I just hope this turns out for the best and not a riot or some monster hunt afterwards.”

“Like I said you're going to be fine.”

Derpy and I turn to the curtain as we both hear a mic being tapped.

Mayor Mare taps the mic and the ponies gathered before the stage fall silent and turn their focus on her. The Mayor looks over the crowd for a few seconds and smiles, the reveal was going to be a success as most of the town bar a few that probably were off somewhere or had better things to do weren't present.

“Mares and Gentlecolts. I know some of you are wondering why you are here and what this stage is set up for. I assure everypony that it is not bad news but in fact good news this is happening. You see nearly a few weeks ago our town was the recipient of a new resident.” There were murmurs through the crowd. The Mayor knew she had to quell the whispering before it got out of hoof. “This visitor is not a danger to anypony nor is he any threat to our kind. All he wishes is to live with us and be one of us. To prove this he has even taken a mate that has two young one's of her own.” More whispers passed through the crowd but they sounded more hopeful than scared. The Mayor smiles as she continues. “This event was requested by him so he may address everypony and reveal himself before a misunderstanding happens.” Mayor Mare turns to the curtain behind her and gestures with one hoof. “Michael, will you come out please?”

There was pure silence until the curtain parted and Michael walked out.

I stood behind the curtain and listened to the Mayors speech, I smile when I didn't hear any shouting. I take a deep breath when the Mayor says my name and asks me to come out. I put one hand on the curtain and walk out, as I step onto the stage the crowd gathered let's out one long gasp.

“Michael, would you address everypony?” The Mayor says gesturing to the nearby mic.

I nod. “Thank You Mayor Mare.”

“Think nothing of it.” The Mayor says walking off to the side.

I walk up to the mic and clear my throat. “Good day everypony, I know some of you are wondering what I am? So to answer that question I'm human or so I know. You see nearly three weeks ago I came to your land by unknown means and sustained an injury that has left me with almost none of my memories. I know my name and what species I am, I even know the name of my old world but much more than that I do not know. My hope is that my memories return in time but I may face the possibility I may never get them back. I know some of you may not believe me and may take time to get used to me being around. I asked your Mayor to set up this meeting so that you may get to know me and hopefully don't get scared by my presence when I walk around Ponyville. The Mayor mentioned about me taking a mate here in Ponyville, that is true. The mare in question took care of me and even healed my wounds that I sustained coming to Equestria, she and her family have shown me compassion and love at a time I felt I had lost everything.” I turn back to the curtain. “Derpy would you come out on stage?” I smiled when Derpy slowly walks out with her head low as she scans the crowd. “Miss Hooves here has been the ambassador of your kind and shown me a great deal about your people. Her daughters have taught me a lot about Equestria and it's history.”

I look over the crowd and could see some faces were smiling while others were still trying to figure me out. “I have said pretty much all that I can say, so does anypony have a question they wish to ask me?” There was silence for a few minutes before a mare raised her hoof. “Yes, you there.”

“Have you made any plans for your future? Are you staying in Ponyville?”

“At the moment my plans are for the here and now as I get to know the town and meet it's residents. As for the future I haven't given it much thought though taking Miss Hooves as my mate has set a path for me.” The mare nods and smiles as she was contented with my answer. I see another mare put her hoof up yet I couldn't help but blink at her as she had striking blue hair and was wearing purple shades. “Uh, yes you with the shades.”

“Hey dude, just to ask you a question on the fly here but are you going to have any foals of your own or are you OK with Miss Hooves two already?”

Wow. Straight to the point this mare, I think to myself. “Uh, for now I have no plans to have any foals yet but If it does happen I would be a very happy stallion.” The Mare nods and as gives me a wink, odd. “Any more questions?” I watch as a purple pony similar to the two princesses walks towards the stage.

“I have a question, If you don't mind?” The pony says.

“Of course but may I ask something in return?” I say. The pony nods. “OK, are you by any chance a princess?”

The pony smiles. “Yes, My name is Twilight Sparkle. I'm the Princess of Friendship, my castle is the big purple crystal tower.”

I turn my head to spot the crystal castle. “I wondered what that was.” I turn back to the princess and give her a bow. “You may ask away your highness.”

The princess giggles. “Just call me Twilight, I was never one for the titles.”

I stand up from my bow and smile. “OK, Twilight.”

Twilight smiles. “My question is this. When you try to remember any of your old memories especially multiple ones do you suffer headaches or pains in your temples?”

I blink. “How did you know?”

Twilight nods. “I think I may be able to help you regain some but not all of your memories.”

I jump down from the stage and stand before Twilight, I also notice five other mares behind her giving me cautious looks. I walk forward and kneel down taking one of her fore hooves.

“Please, even if you can give me partially what I lost. I'll do what It takes.”

Twilight smiles then her face turns serious. “I'm not fully sure it will work though, as I said I may be able.”

“I don't care. If there is a slim chance I'll take it.” I reply.

Twilight's expression turns back into a smile. “Then come to my place in the morning, I will have everything set up.”

I let her hoof go and pull her in for a hug. I hear gasps nearby but nopony tries to break us apart. Twilight finally returns my hug by putting a foreleg around my back.

I pull away. “Thank you Twilight.”

“I haven't done anything yet, wait until tomorrow before thanking me.”

I nod as Twilight and the five other mares turning away but a pony with a rainbow mane gives me a narrow stare. I shrug before turning to the stage and climbing back up, I notice the crowd has gone deathly silent. I turn to the Mayor and I see she was also wondering why everypony was silent. I walk to the mic and give a cough.

“OK, so that was me hugging a princess...scratch that off my list of things to do.” I noticed a tumble weed roll pass the stage. “OK bad pun yeah....Uh? Any more questions?” Silence. “OK then! Mayor Mare I guess back to you?” I walk away back through the curtain and drop to the floor. I was shaking so much that Derpy hugging me wasn't calming me down. I turn my body and embrace Derpy, I dig my nose into her neck and inhale deeply which causes her to giggle.

“That tickles!” Derpy laughs as I continue to sniff her neck. “Michael!” Derpy squeals as I blow a raspberry on her neck.

I laugh as I blow multiple raspberries on Derpy only to stop when a cough breaks the mood. I look up to see Mayor Mare grinning at me. I give her a cheesy grin before standing up and rubbing the back of my neck, I look down to see Derpy was red faced and fanning herself with a wing.

“Michael if you are...finished with your...activity, I have a few papers for you to sign that the princesses sent over.”

“Papers?” I query.

Mayor Mare nods. “It seems Princess Celestia and Princess Luna some how got word of this meeting with the town and sent paper work to officially make you a citizen of Equestria.”

I give her a narrow stare but put a grin on. “You mean so I can pay taxes right?”

The Mayor rolls her eyes. “I'm afraid that is one of the set backs of becoming a citizen.” Mayor Mare laughs.

I nod. “OK, When do you want me to fill them out?”

“I can have Ruby drop them by and you just return them when you finish filling them out.”

I nod again. “Sounds good, I'll complete them as as soon as I can.”

The Mayor bows her head and walks off out the side door, I look down to Derpy and see she was giving me a puppy dog pout. I watch Derpy tilt her head to the side and expose her neck before I realise what she was asking me to do. I grin and pounce.

Derpy and I sat at the kitchen table as Dinky and Sparkler glared at us from the other side. I glance at Derpy and she glances at me. We glance back towards Sparkler as she puts her forelegs on the table in a gesture the way I would link my fingers together.

“I guess you both know why we are here?” Sparkler says keeping a neutral expression.

I shrink down. “I think I do yes...” I almost hide under the table when Sparkler shoots me a glare.

“Well just encase you don't I will explain. I come to the back of the stage with Dinky to find both my mother and her coltfriend rolling on the floor blowing raspberries on each other. I also noticed to which I had to cover Dinky's eyes was you were displaying mother!”

I look to Derpy and could see Derpy was covering her face with her hooves but I could still see the bright red blush on her face.

I turn to Sparkler. “Sparkler, I have no apology to make as Derpy and I are both adults. Though I would have to admit that doing what we did in a public place was out of turn. I apologise for Dinky almost witnessing Derpy's...displaying, I will not apologise for showing your mother the love that I can give her.” I smirk. “Though if Derpy and I do get married there will be a lot of that stuff going on, something you should be prepared for.” I smile when I see the 'Oh Hell' Expression come to Sparklers face. I look to Dinky and could see she was trying to keep her giggles under control.

“Michael's right. Though our conduct was unbecoming of adults the act which we were doing is not. I will apologise for Dinky almost bearing witness to my state, I will continue to love Michael and show him my affections anyway I can.”

Sparkler groans and drops her head to the table, she knew she wasn't going to win this debate.

“Fine, just can you keep some stuff at home? For the sake of everypony?” Sparkler finally asks.

I nod. “I can agree to that.”

“Me too.” Derpy adds.

Sparkler throws up her hooves. “Thank Celestia! Now Dinky you and I have some homework to do.”

Dinky hangs her head and nods. “Yeah...OK.” Dinky slides off her seat and gives me and Derpy a hug each before she walks out the kitchen door.

“I love you mum,” Sparkler says turning to face Derpy. I watch as Sparkler turns to me and smiles. “I love you to...Dad.” Sparkler walks out and I just sit in shock.

“Michael are you OK?” Derpy asks.

I turn my head to give a Derpy a smile as a tear rolls down my cheek. “Yeah...I'm doing fine Derpy.”
