In Canterlot
It had come as a great shock to Rarity when her parents announced that they had signed HER up for a summer exchange programme in the neighbouring Kingdom of Ponyville and what made this situation even worse was that she found out that the family she was being forced to spend the entire summer with were farmers, Rarity nearly fainted at the thought of them forcing her to…work! The only work that Rarity could stomach was the marvellous work she had been doing in her studio as of recent. She always knew that she had an eye for fashion but it has only recently started to come out.
Rarity was currently sitting in her studio now with her best friend Fluttershy, Rarity had spent the majority of the morning complaining about how unfair it was that her parents had gone behind her back and signed her up for something that she would not even think of doing in a million years. Fluttershy like always just simply sat and nodding along when appropriate, too afraid to say something while her best friend was in this mood.
“How dare they! Didn’t they think that I should have a say in this? After all, it is my summer, not theirs! But no, let’s not ask the person that we are planning to send away to a farm in the middle of nowhere! Oh and to make things even better, let’s not tell her until three freakin days before they are shipping me off!” Rarity shouted for the hundredth time since Fluttershy had arrived for what she thought was a dress fitting, boy was she wrong.
“Well…I…umm maybe they weren’t thinking, or maybe they…just…forgot?” Fluttershy suggested, only to receive a death stare from Rarity.
“Forgot?! How could someone simply forget to tell someone that they are planning to ship they away to an apple farm for the whole summer?!” Rarity shouted at the top of her lungs, making her little white kitten opalescence run for her life and Fluttershy flinch at the tone and volume of her friend’s voice. Rarity quickly noticed this and within a blink of an eye, she completely changed into a different person. The purple haired girl felt extremely guiltily for making her best friend so scared.
"I'm sorry Flutters, I shouldn't be taking this out on you. After all, none of this was your fault..." Rarity said while she placed a gentle hand on her friends shaking shoulder.
"It's fine Rare really, you just scared me that's all..." Fluttershy said while looking down at her hands that sat firmly in her lap.
"I'm really going to miss you Fluttershy..." Rarity said while she laid her head on Fluttershy's shoulder.
"I'm going to miss you too Rare...a lot," Fluttershy said as she laid her head on top of Rarity’s.
In Ponyville
"Apple Bloom! Will ya quit yer messin' around and get yer butt over her'" Apple Jack hollered out into the orchard to her little sister, who at this moment in time was meant to be picking up all the bruised apples, but instead she was running about the orchard chasing after her best friend Scootaloo and my best friend Rainbow Dash.
"Sorry sis' we was just havin' a little bit a fun." Apple Bloom said as she ran up to her sister.
"Yeah fun, you remember that don't your pal?" Rainbow asked smugly.
"Ya an Scoot can finish pickin' up all the apples an then an only then will I even consider lettin' you have fun!" Apple Jack said completely ignoring Rainbow Dash's comment.
"Yes, Sir!" Scootaloo joked before running off to the orchard with Apple Bloom following closely behind.
"Lighten up Aj! Their just little fillies trying to have a good time! It was not so long ago when you and I used to run away from Granny Smith when she was trying to get us to pick up all the ruined apples!" Rainbow Dash pointed out once the kids were out of earshot.
"And look at the amount of trouble we used to get into! There wasn't a single day back then when someone wasn't complaining to Granny Smith about us!" Apple Jack counterattacked her friend, who couldn't help but roll her eyes at the blonde.
"At least promise me you will try and have some fun while I'm gone!" Rainbow Dash pleaded with her friend.
"I do have time fer fun! An ya know that!" Apple Jack said while wiping the sweat from her brow.
"Make time, plus you promised the mayor that you would should the new girl around and after all she is staying here. Why don't you show that stuck-up city girl how us Ponyville girls have fun!" Rainbow Dash said excitedly.
"Aww shoot! Ah, fergot all 'bout that!" Apple Jack mentally cursed for forgetting all about the visitor that was soon going to be staying at the farm with Apple Jacks family. Apple Jack had been meaning to plan what exactly she was going to do with the out of town girl that was due tomorrow, but she had been so busy with work it must have slipped her mind.
"You mean you don't have anything planned yet? What the hell are you going to do with her? Make her pick up bruised apples like Apple Bloom?" Rainbow Dash asked in shock, usually, her friend would have had every single day planned to a tea, but since this harvest season was so large this year it must have slipped her mind.
"Ah was meanin' to but I just never got round ta it..." Apple Jack nervously ran her dirty hands through her messy blonde hair.
"Looks like you'll have to get planning then..."
“Looks like I do…”
“Apple Jack! Scoot is tryin’ to rub rottin’ apples in ma hair!” Apple Bloom shouted, while the sound of Scootaloo laughing could be heard from miles away.
“Maybe I’ll start planning after I get the kiddos to bed.”
“Yeah…maybe that’s a good idea…” Rainbow Dash said while trying not to laugh.

In Ponyville
"Why isn't she here yet?" Apple Bloom shouted loudly while bouncing up and down beside a very annoyed and extremely tired Applejack.
"Will ya stap jumpin' around like one of em vermin critters in the east orchard!" Applejack snapped at her over excited sister who had already inhaled way too much sugar than should be allowed in one morning.
"Sorry sis...I were just excited that's all...do yer think she's gonna be around ma age? Scoots and ah could use another filly to run about wit!" Apple Bloom asked while looking down the railroad tracks for any sign of the train.
"As if ya and Scoot don't get inta enough trouble on yer own!" Applejack moaned, while looking in the same direction as her sister.
"Ya know we don't mean ta sis...it just kinda happens" Apple Bloom thought out loud just as the train turned the corner and headed toward the platform. "She's here Applejack!" Apple shouted while jumping up and down again.
Applejack decided to ignore her little sisters obvious comment and instead moved them both back a few steps as the train came closer. Applejack and Apple Bloom watched closely as large groups of people quickly got off the train, they searched and searched for their mystery guest but then realised that they didn't in fact know what she looked like.
"Umm anyone here lookin' ta go ta Sweet Apple Acres?" Applejack shouted, she wait a few moments for someone to respond and was about to ask again when she noticed a purple haired girl start to push her way past boarding passengers.
"Me! I am! Oh thank goodness that you are here, oh and that you brought help. Aren't you just the cutest!" Rarity to Apple Bloom while patting her red hair.
"Is that all yer brought miss?" Applejack asked while reaching over to take Rarity's suitcase for her.
"Oh god no. I have someone bringing out the rest of my bags now. I hope you two can handle them. Of course I would help, but I am simple exhausted from the journey. You can handle a few bags right?" Just as Rarity said that a train worker made his way over with at least twenty bags on a cart.
"A few bags?!" Applejack snapped but quickly calmed down and fake smiled. "Of course ah can handle yer bags..." Applejack said before taking over with the cart.
"Perfect! Now let's get going, I simply can't wait to see my room!" Rarity said cheerfully while walking ahead with Apple Bloom, leaving Applejack to struggle with the mountain of bags.
"A few bags my hoof!" Applejack said under her breath.
In Canterlot
"Where the hell is this chick?!" Rainbow Dash said while pacing the train station platform. Her train had arrive almost an hour ago and there was still no sign of her ride.
"Excuse me?" An extremely quiet voice said behind Rainbow Dash. Thinking that she was just hearing things Rainbow Dash decided to ignore it and keep walking, it wasn't until she turned to walk the other and collided with something or rather someone had she realised that maybe she wasn't hearing things at all.
"Oops sorry...I ah didn't see you there. Are you alright?" Rainbow Dash asked the pink haired girl that was currently looking down at the ground.
"...yeah I'm fine..." Fluttershy said almost to herself.
"Sorry I didn't quite get that..."
"I said that I'm fine..." Fluttershy said a little bit louder than before.
"Oh that's good...you must be my ride, it's about time! I've been waiting here for hours!" Rainbow Dash over exaggerated like always.
"Sorry..." Fluttershy quietly apologised.
"Well I suppose that's okay...but don't let it happen again!" Dash snapped making the girl jump and Rainbow Dash giggle, she had never seen someone so nervous and it made her want to see how far she could push her, but at the same time she didn't want to bully the poor girl...just mess with her a little.
"So we going or what?" Dash said, tried of waiting around in this boring station. All Fluttershy could do in response was nod.
"Sounds good to me! Let's get going....wait I don't think I caught your name?" Rainbow Dash said in her usual confident tone.
"I'm Fluttershy..." She said quietly, so quietly that Rainbow Dash could hardly hear her. Fluttershy then tried to lift Rainbow Dash's bag for her, but she ended up failing miserably. "Oh it's heavy." She said sounding defeated.
"It's cool, I got it...I'm Rainbow Dash by the way. So what do you do for fun around here?" She asked while following Fluttershy to her little yellow car with pink butterflies stickers all over it.
"I usually just take care of the animals in the shelter and my own little bunny Angel...but we can do something else if you like..." Fluttershy said while getting into the car.
"Boring! Isn't there anything else FUN we can do?!" Dash asked loudly, scaring the shy girl.
"I guess Twilight might know something fun we can do..." Fluttershy said sounding defeated, she had hoped that the person that was coming to stay would be interested in looking after all the little animals with her but she was wrong.
"Let's go see this Twilight then!" Rainbow shouted.
