The Nightmarian War

Celestia's sun shone down upon The small town of ponyville, the warm summer sunlight seemed especially bright this day. "Scoots! Wait up!" A small yellow earth pony filly with her red mane tied up with a bow yelled as she chased an orange Pegasus filly using her wings to propel herself at breakneck speeds on a scooter.

"Sorry, no can do Apple..." Scootaloo never had the chance to finish her sentence when she crashed into a wooden cart that had been crossing the road. While the cart surprisingly was mostly undamaged the orange filly was stuck half way through the side of the cart. Applebloom quickly bolted to her friend's aid. "Scootaloo are you alright?" She said looking at the scene of the the orange filly trying to free herself from between the wooden beams.

"Oh yeah just fine! Help me out of here!" Scootaloo yelled as she pushed her hands against the floor of the cart. "I'll try." Applebloom said gripping her friend by the waist and began pulling as hard as she could. Before long The Orange filly popped out with a soft yelp as she landed rump first upon Applebloom's face. "Ah! Thank you Apple... oh no." Scootaloo said hopping off her friend's face "sorry sorry sorry!" Scootaloo blurted out to her friend.

"Are you fillies ok?" The gruff voice of cranky doodle asked as he ran out of the nearby store front. "Scoots just crashed into your cart mister doodle." Applebloom said gesturing to the orange filly. "Traitor!" Scootaloo flinched as she silently cursed being outed. "I'm not mad. The cart is replaceable. You're not. Are you alright?"

"Y-yeah mister Doodle." Scootaloo said kicking the dirt bashfully. "No harm done. Good thing I reinforced the old cart huh?" Cranky smiled uncharacteristically before hitching the cart to himself and walking off down the road

Suddenly a gust of frigid wind blasted through the streets of ponyville as black storm clouds swirled around the roof of the town hall.

"What's going on? A dark gray Pegasus exclaimed as he landed on an adjacent roof top. "We have a rouge system it looks like." An arrogant toned blue mare with a wild rainbow colored mane and tail. "I'll handle this thunder." Rainbow Dash bolted followed by her trademark rainbow trail. She came in quick and grabbed onto the spreading storm clouds only to find out they were extremely hot to the touch. *Ah,ah,ah hot hot hot!" Dash let go and bolted off to dive into a lake before returning. Her body was a blur as she attempted to halt the spread of the scolding clouds. Embers began falling from the clouds as Rainbow zoomed around them. Without a sound a bolt of crimson lightning stuck the roof of the town hall followed by another and another, ripping the roof asunder as the crimson streams of energy combined into a twisting ball of red energy. The clouds began to fade away but the large orb of energy remained. "Yeah your not so... Buck!" Rainbow cursed as she looked at the destroyed building below her. "Good thing the Mayer is out." The red orb began audibly crackling with blue energy. Within the orb something formless swirled like smoke, and with a thunderous blast the orb expanded. Becoming a large arcing wall. Rainbow Dash touched down at the far side of the now empty plaza. A sound rang through the plaza, the sound of armored hooves Marching. Shadows appeared within the wall of light as it began to ripple.

An entire line of six unicorns in silvery armor and bearing tall black metal shields stepped out. The helms of the unicorns covered their entire head save for the mouth, even their horns were made apart of the silvery helm. the chest plates were moulded to each soldier's body, they marched on Followed by another wave and another and so on. Soon came pegasai baring long spears with a banner attached just below the spear head. Their armor extended along their wings, giving them a mechanical look about them. The banner depicted a Sol with a vertical slit Iris and three tear drops underneath it. One black, one white and the lowest one red.

"And just who in Tartarus are you guys?" No answer came from the strange ponies.

In unison the battalion of silver armored ponies split apart, faced each other and kneeled as if expecting royalty. "Hey! I'm talking to you! Gluk!" Rainbow Dash choked and began grasping at her throat feeling something closing around her throat. "Such an annoying voice. " A female unicorn said as she stepped out of the portal. Her helmet was different from the rest of the ponies. It having a bright red plume atop her head and draping over the sides of her head. "Shatter, remember what our Lord said." A male pegasai wearing the same style of helmet said as the unicorn mare stepped out of the portal. His large dark green wings folded up behind him as he gabbed the mare "let her go before he gets here. And maybe i won't have to report your... aggression" the unicorn mare growled "Sais, she really annoys me." The Pegasus that was identified as Sais frowned. "It's your flank if you want to go against his wishes." The portal shimmered as the air grew unnaturally cold "Indeed It is." A distorted voice came from behind the two.

A shadowy figure stood just on the other side of the portal. "Huh, huuh." Rainbow panted as she regained her ability to breath normally. "What was that about!" The portal began to shimmer as a large hoof poked out as The figure behind the portal stepped out from behind it.

The figure was very tall possibly as tall if not taller than even Celestia, around his shoulders was a tattered black cloak that resembled leathery black wing arms with the hands acting as the clasp. His coat was coal black with silver around his neck and muzzle. His shoulder length silver and ice blue mane was tied back in one long bundle. Atop his head stood were a trio of horns and a copper crown with different colored gems. His eyes remained hidden behind layers of dark blue cloth trimmed with silver threading and white gems wrapped around his head. On his waist a skirt wrapped around his silver armored legs

"Shatter return to the Everdream. It was a mistake to send you." His tone was cold and oozing with disdain.

The silver armored unicorn bowed "My deepest apologies Milord, but I cannot leave you..." she was cut off by the grip of a crimson magical aura closing around her throat. The figure's hand extended out from under the cloak, positioned as if his hand was wrapped around the choking unicorn's neck. Forcing her down onto her knees.

"My deepest apologies Madame. Shattered Dreams needs to learn proper control of her Status." The large figure said as he looked to Rainbow Dash, even though his eyes were hidden The multiple hued Pegasus could feel his gaze penetrating her to the core.

"I-I.. beg your for-forgiveness Milord." The silver armored mare pleaded with choked gasps as she fell to her knees.

Rainbow Dash watched the scene in shock as the rest of the mane six arrived with Twilight Sparkle leading the group. As the group arrived the armored ponies rose and planted their Shields in a defensive position, forming a wall of black metal. "Our Lord will address you when his judgement is rendered" the Pegasus named Sais said from above the wall of sheilds as the other pegasai lined Their spears up into the small gaps of the shield wall.

Twilight unfurled her wings as she took a combative stance "who are you? What do you want?" She said channeling magical energy into her hands

"Sais, let them pass. " The unnamed Figure commanded as he released his choke on the silver armored mare. "Arise Shattered. You are forgiven."

The sheild wall broke apart as quickly as it formed and allowed the mares to pass through. Shattered dreams arose and took her position behind the figure.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Twilight said after she bolted to her friend's side. "I'm fine Twi. Be careful this guy gives me the creeps." Rainbow Dash said as she limbered up her shoulders.

"You know it is rude to speak of somepony like they aren't in front of you." The figure vanished in a flash of red and reappeared behind the duo.

A smile crossed the figure's muzzle as the clasped hands of his cloak came apart and exposed the fact they were actually fully functional wings. "I am Lord Skarr, King of nightmares. I am here to collect what was promised to me by the one called Nightmare Moon."

"Well she no longer... is among us. We managed to purge her from the world." Twilight said as she looked up at the large King. "yeah we blasted her with the elements of Harmony!" Rainbow Dash said throwing a few punches through the air. "Did you come all this way for an autograph from the one and only Rainbow Dash?"

"Who are you? I care not for for braggarts. Eis prah unth." Lord Skarr said looking to the loud mouthed mare. "My deepest apologies Shattered. You were correct. She is annoying." Skarr said before vanishing in a bright crimson flash as the rubble of the town hall began to shake before rocketing off the ground and crashing in place as red hues formed around the pieces of the building. Within a few moments the last piece of the town hall clacked into place before the area was bathed in a red glow. When the bright light faded the formally destroyed building looked better than when it was new. Atop the roof stood the nightmarian alicorn, "citizens of equestria. I am Lord Skarr. Your new king. Those who submit will not be harmed. If you resist. I will crush you underhoof. You will be joined with the everdream."
