Becoming Parents

Today was a descent one. Business was a little slow, but that just means I can restock my inventory. As the Sun was beginning to set, I closed up shop and headed home. Most ponies were already inside their homes, but the ones that where still out waved to me and congraduated me on my marriage. I would thank them and continue on my way. I could finnaly see the cottage. The lights looked dim, and I could see smoke coming out of the chimney. I opened the door to a lovely sight. My wife.

"Welcome back honey. How was your day?" She asked and I noticed that she was wearing a crimsion dress with sequence. She also had ear rings and lip stick to match.

"Today was slow, but it was alright....Why are you dressed like that?" I asked.

"Oh...um...I just wanted to surprise you." She kissed my cheek and motioned me to take a seat on the kitchen table and made me take a seat.

"Surprise me for what? Did I forget your birthday again!?" I started to panic, but she shushed me with a kiss.

"Don't worry. It is nothing like that." She began to rub my shoulders. "Please eat your dinner. It is getting cold." She pointed to the plate in front of me. I noticed there was not a plate on her side of the table.

"What about your food?"

"I already ate." She continued to rub my shoulders. I slowly started eating. We were silent for a moment, but then Fluttershy spoke up. "I went to the doctor today."

"Was your stomach still giving you trouble, dear?" I asked.

"Yes, but don't worry. The doctor found you what was going on."

"What did he say?" She moved her head to my ear.

"I'm pregnant." She whispered. My fork hit the plate with a clang.

"W-What?..." I stutered. "A-Am I hearing you correctly? It sounded like you said you were p-pregnant."

"I am Jesse. The test was positive." She nuzzled the crook in my neck. "Congratulations. You're going to be a dady." She smiled wide. "And I'm going to be a mommy! I have always dreamed of being a mother." She squealed. She began to assult me with kisses.

'I'm going to be a father...I am going to be a parent...' I snaped back to reality. "How could you be pregnant? I thought that your heat period wasn't for another month." I asked.

"Apparently it came a little earlier than expected. The doctor said that I became pregnant right after our honeymoon." She said.

"Oh....Okay." I said driely.

"Are you not excited?" Her eyes started to water. "I thought you would be happy..." I wrapped my hooves around her waist and pulled her close.

"I am excited... My mind is just having trouble grasping this." I rubbed her soft cheek. "And don't worry. I love you. I am not going to run away. I am going to be a good husband, and stay by your side and help take care of you and the foal."

"Thank you. You're going to be a great father." She smiled.

"And you are going to be a great mommy." I kissed her cheek. "We will play, feed, and love the foal.... And when that get old enough, I will tell them the story of how we met... I think I'll call the story 'How I Met Your Mothershy'." Fluttershy giggled.

"Is that some sort of pun that only you would know?" She lightly punches my arm.

"E'yep." I grinned. "I'll explain it later. For now." I picked her up because of her light frame and placed her on my lap. "I'd rather stay like this." I have her an excimo kiss.

"That sounds lovely, but fist you need to finish your dinner." She picked up My fork and began to make air plane noises. I just chuckled and let her continue.

Dinner was done and we were lieing on the the couch. Fluttershy laid sideways on my chest and I began rubbing her stomach.

"That feels good." She began to silently moan.

"You are just the cutest thing." I coued. She looked up at me and have me a quick kiss on the lips.

"I love you, Jesse." She said softly.

"I love you too, Fluttershy." We layed there on the couch for what felt like hours, when my eyes began to feel heavy. We both fell asleep in each other's embrace.

I was in a burly version of the cottage. Everything was out of focuse. A little blur was bouncing in front of me. It keep saying something, but it sounded muffled. It got clearer and clearer, till I could finally make out what it was saying.

"Come and catch me dady!" The blur said and it ran around me.

"I'm going to get you!" I chased after the blur. We both began to laugh as We ran around the living room. I caught the blur after a couple of minutes of running around. I held it up and the blur started to clear up. I began to see yellow fur and a pink mane. I tried to take a closer look, when I realized It was Fluttershy. 'I must have woken up.' I noticed her stomach had a tiny bump. I closed my eyes again and held her a little tighter. 'I hope I will be a good father.'
