Becoming Parents
Month Three: Cravings
Previous ChapterNext ChapterI was in the middle of the market. Fluttershy has been starting to have cravings. Really weird ones too. I took off my top hat and pulled out a slip of paper that unraveled and it almost reached the ground. I put my hat back on and read the list.
"Okay. I need to pick up will pickles, peanut butter, dafadills, spinage, hay, lettuce, cotton candy, strawberry muffins,..." The list went on. I was going from stand to stand. The hot sun beating down on me. I wiped my forehead of sweat as I began pulling a full cart of only half of what was on the list. "I know for a fact that she won't eat all of this."
"I wouldn't say that." I quickly turned my head to see a yellow stalion with a orange mane.
"Hello, Mr. Cake. What brings you here?" I asked. After a bunch of trips to Sugarcube Corner, I learned him and his wife's name.
"I was just getting some ingredients for a order my wife is working on." He looked at my cart. "Let me guess... Fluttershy is starting to have cravings?"
"Yeah. I am happy to do this stuff for her, but it is running me ragged." It was true. I have been starting to get crow's feet and bags under my eyes.
"Well, just think what she is going through." He calmly said. "Her body is going through a lot of changes. That is a lot of stress on a mare. I remember when Cup Cake was carrying Pound and Pumpkin, she was a nervous reck for the first few months."
"How did she calm down?" I asked still pulling the cart little by little.
"I stayed by her side and made sure she was alright. After a while she realized that I would be there for her. Then everything just died down on the craziness." He chuckled. "That was untill she started having mood swings."
"What happened?"
"It was weird. First, she was really happy and excited for about a month. Next, she got really mad at everything. Then, she got really depressed. And lastly, she was really neutral. Nothing fazed her, whether it was something good or bad happening. She just was always meh." He said.
"That is crazy." I said.
"Don't worry though." He continued. "The last two months are when everthing gets under control. All leading up to the birth. Then you freak out!" He pointed to me and laughed. "I hope I was of help."
"You were. Thank you sir." I continued my way back home.
"You're welcome... Oh! One more thing." I turned my head to look at him. "Complement her often. Not just about her looks, but about her personality too." I nodded to him and he went back to doing his arrinds.
I finnally got back to the cottage. Sweat was rolling down my forehead. I carried everything inside the house. When I got everything put up in the pantry I was panting.
"I got those things you asked for, Fluttershy!" I yelled so if she was upstairs, she would hear me.
"Thank you, Jesse." Fluttershy said as she walked into the kitchen. Her stomach now has a more noticable bulge.
"No problem." I said tiredly. "I saw Mr. Cake at the market today."
"Oh. Did he say hi?" She asked.
"Yeah. He also was giving me some advice for dealing with a preagnat mare." I told her.
"That was nice of him. I'm sorry I had you go out in the hot sun to get me something to eat..." She started to blush. "The foal was just giving me some weird cravings. Like puting pickles in peanut butter." She gaged. "It sounds awaful, but I just have to eat that type of stuff."
"I understand." I put my hoof to her cheek and kissed her passionately. She began to silently moan, and she leaned deeper into the kiss. We finnally broke apart for air. "You are going to go through a lot these next couple of months. The least I could do is keep you comfortable."
"You're so sweet to me. You're going to make me have diabetes before the baby is even bord." She smiled.
"And if that happens, I will give you insalen with every kiss, but, and snuggle." I started to tickle her a little and she began gigling.
"Stop! That tickles!" She began to squirm. "Lets see how you like it!" She began tickle me as well. The whole house was full of laughs and screams of joy. They soon died down and we layed next to each other on the kitchen floor. "Can you get me those pickles please?" She panted.
"Of course dear."
