The Reclamation
Prologue
Load Full StoryNext ChapterThe powerful yet wise Starswirl the Bearded silently trotted the empty halls of his tower, shrouded in the darkness of the night. As he enter's his study room, he put's his hat on a nearby shelf and threw his unimportant material's aside the bed. The once filled desk, covered with countless magical theories and studies were all levitated and he rolled them and put the paper's on a nearby shelf across the room. he laid an empty book right on front of him and flipped the cover of the book to see hundreds upon hundreds of empty sheet's of paper in the book. He grinned softly and levitated the quill right beside him, already filled with ink. As he wrote furiously throughout the entire day, he took a long sip from his coffee before putting it on the mini-shelf at the left corner of his room. He grinned widely and read the whole book again.
Full analysis report: Humans
Physically and magically weak creatures, human's are often 'used' as worker's for our glorious society. They would do certain job's nopony could do and would do anything their master desires. Though some of our political allies don't agree with this form of 'practice', the human's very well owe their entire survival to us. In their darkest hour's, a single human united the disorganized and weak tribes and marched straight toward's Canterlot all those years ago. At first they thought Canterlot was under attack, but as time goes and the princesses confirms their true intention, the human's were allowed to stay in the empire and Canterlot (for the meantime) as their home's were overwhelmed by the horde's of monsters and beasts that seemingly target's them by consciousness rather than primal instinct. Thus the Human-Pony deal was made; Human's would work and do anything the ponies desire them to do, and the ponies, in return, would provide them their average necessities.
Humans are often very 'questionable' when it come's to their intelligence. True there are naturally intelligent human's, but by analyzing their population for a considerable long amounts of time, they seem to have smaller brain's than we do. Though what make's them unique is their lack of magic. As everypony know, everything is runned and powered by magic, if anything isn't supported by magic, they would be more weaker when it come's to both their physical and mental health. They are a roughly the same size as an average male stallion, which is a healthy 4 foot tall, and have 5 digit hand's to do 'extraordinary' things.
For nearly a century, humanity has been under our rule, being tended by our care. Though last night I had a vision about humanity- not the Human's we know and some times 'Love' but an entirely different humanity. One who also share's the same lack of magic but prosper's without it's care. It keep's growing until it took it's first step into the great cosmos. I do not know what this mean or if this is the same exact human's we know, but my sense's won't lie to me if something major were to happen long after i pass away.
From your dear advisor and grand-wizard.
~Starswirl the Bearded...
Extra note; these human's were considerably taller than the average stallion and even Celestia herself in some cases. Reaching up to 5-8 foot tall.
Meanwhile on Earth
Several months after the 'Created' incident, 2560
The Chief slowly made his way toward's the Shadow of Intent's bridge, located in the centre of the ship. As he continued walking across the vast hall's and facilities of the ship, most of the human's stationed there saluted at him and continued working with extreme determination and vigour. He was used to all of this- after all, it's not everyday a Spartan like him saves the entirety of the human race and saved the galaxy...Twice. He took notes about the interior of the ship and how elegant the designs were- unlike the blocky and straight structure of any UNSC ship.
He finally arrived at the bridge and the door on front of him opened by itself. There countless human, elite, and grunt officers were maintaining and checking the overall safety of the ship as of now. He looked over the holo-table and there, Roland was talking to his superior officer; Thomas J. Lasky. He mentally sighed and walked towards the table, once there he coughed softly.
"Ah Chief, I was wondering when you'll show up"
The Chief looked down, whilst grinning darkly under his visor. "Likewise captain, what's the report?" Lasky looked over the holo-table and tapped several digits at the console on the table. Soon an image of the Milky way galaxy was presented, alongside red, blue, and black coloured sectors.
The red colour seem's to control more system's in the outer rim of the galaxy whilst the rest of the galaxy was coloured blue- except for the core of the galaxy, which is coloured black. "It seem's like the Covenant is on it's knee's, they've lost all of their territory in the orion arm and are retreating to the Sagittarius arm, where they control only a handful of colonies left. Estimated military power is very low, maybe a single CSO-Super Carrier but it's just that, the Great Schism is coming to a close." Lasky tapped the console again and an image of the Guardian Chief had defeated appeared instead.
"On the side note, one of the guardian's fell in to Earth's orbit. Though this will be a major breakthrough for Humanity, I reckoned uncovering everything about this thing would take..." He paused, trying to think of an estimation on when they would convert the Guardian technology for their own. Suddenly an orange figure, dressed in a World War 2 British aviator pilot suit appeared right beside the holographic image of the Guardian.
"If I can cut in that will be great- estimated time will take up to at least 10-20 year's, depending if we don't get attacked by the remnant I say that we will be a high tier 2 in no time." The AI crosses his arms and gave Lasky a smug smirk, alongside a nod. The captain complied and the AI soon flickered off.
"Right, ONI say's that Palmer would be re-assigned to be protecting and continuing the further development of the Spartan IV's. ONI say's that they should put Locke in charge, but Lord Hood suggests that you should take that job." The Chief grunted in response, while he and Palmer are in good term's, he and Locke have a bit of a history with each other.
"Likewise Commander"
"It seems like the demon has return from it's pilgrimage" A large figure walked on front of Lasky, he was covered in gold alongside articulate carvings of the past that details his armour.
Chief nodded. "Arbiter." The Sangheili walked towards the Chief and stared at his visor. "Good to see you again demon." The Arbiter clicked 2 of his lower mandibles, a human equivalent of a smile. He patted the Chief's shoulder.
"I assume you retrieved what you were looking for?"
Chief shook his head, whilst lowering his head slightly. "She'll return one day demon" The Chief nodded and the Arbiter walked his way towards his grav-chair.
A rather tall Sangheili approached him, he bowed slightly whilst planting his fists on his chest. "Arbiter, ready to go back to Sanghelios?" Rtas asked, the Arbiter grinned and hold his shoulders for a few second.
"So it seems brother, take us home" The Shadow of Intent zoomed out of Earth's orbit and entered slipspace. It's destination; Sanghelios.
Chief looked towards Lasky. "Remind me again why we're going back to Sanghelios." Lasky glanced at Chief before returning to look at the table.
"The ship was damaged when we exited Slipspace outside Sanghelios, it would take us years to fix it, though with the Huragok's help we managed to complete it in just a few months." Chief nodded and stared at the table, currently displaying an image of Sanghelios from orbit.
For the first time in months, he could enjoy the peace while it lasted.
Meanwhile in the bridge of the UNSC *Infinity*
Cortana woke up from her slumber, she was sleeping on the holo-table of the UNSC Infinity. She looked around her. No one was around, she crossed her arms and sighed sadly. It was only a few months ago that she almost killed the Chief, god knows where he is right now. She accessed the Infinity's system to monitor it.
'So far so good, slipspace engines at 100% as well as reactor engines. Cryo-chambers running smoothly-' She rubbed her head, remembering one of her last discussions with the Chief before he entered Cryo sleep.
'Wake me, when you need me. She smiled at the thought of him, hopefully he could find some peace while it lasted. She turned on the power for the Infinity and smirked gleefully.
"Time for you to get back into the show" The Infinity soon hovered above the ground and hanged luminously in the sky, awaiting for it's crew to return. A UNSC pelican soon landed inside the hanger, revealing a crew of engineers and the head of local garrison; Commander Maxwell Hammonds, leader of the 6th UNSC fleet that sacrificed itself for the safety of the Infinity in the raid of Sanghelios, when one of the Guardians chased the Infinity back to Sanghelios. The fleet valiantly sacrificed it's ships and the survivors led the local Sangheili, Grunt, and Hunter garrison until help arrives.
The commander grinned and pressed the COMM of the ship. "Well I'll be damn Cortana, you did one hell of a fine job monitoring the process of the ship, it look's good as new." He looked around the hanger, Sabres, longswords, and Pelicans everywhere strapped in with the ship.
She responded. "Well someone has to look out for the ship whilst it's still in repairs" Maxwell nodded, his grin disappearing replacing it with a frown.
"You're okay right? we only managed to download 3/4 of your software and-"
"It's fine Commander, besides I don't think rampancy will be a problem for me anytime soon." She smirked, Maxwell smirked as well and returned to inspect the repairs of the ship.
She sighed happily. "Thank you meta-stability for giving me 'eternal life'."
