Three days since the moonlit dinner.

The past three days has been rather quiet, minus the second day when the occupants of the palace was woken by a high-pitched scream when Princess Cadance woke up with the same knowledge when she was older but with the literal body of a cute filly for the whole day, along with a note on not trying a prank date on both Eclipse and Luna again.

But the third day was the start of the weekend, and to Nyx's delight the day where Eclipse begins teaching her magic.

Out of the town of Ponyville, in a good clearing near the Palace of friendship

Nyx was just a small ball of excitement that could make Pinkie proud while she constantly hopped around Eclipse as both of them made their way to where she wanted to teach her. "Now Nyx, you do know your have to calm down before we began, and I can think of one spell that has been quite useful for me over the years." Eclipse said before coming to a stop while she waited for her student to calm down before they actually began.

Nyx stopped her bouncing so she can stay in place for her lesson. "Ok Mrs.'s Eclipse, I'm ready for the lesson." Nyx said while can listen to Eclipse.

"Ok Nyx, This spell I'm going to teach you actually requires rather little amount of magic but it super useful when you need it, it called the pocket dimension spell." Eclipse said before casting the spell to summon a random book she had inside her pocket dimension, if she had looked before she went back to speaking she would have noticed the book was actually her diary. "Also the best part about this spell is it always different so you can't pull items from other ponies pocket dimensions." Eclipse added before moving the book back to her pocket dimension.

They continued on the lessons till it was starting to go from midday to evening. "Ok, since it is almost night time, I can start you on some both shielding spells and shadow spells, the shielding spells will be up to three levels, one for your use on your level of magic now, one for when you get a powerful as Cadance and one for when your as strong as both of the Royal sisters." Eclipse said, while she gave a small example of each spell, the first was fully solid while the second was a mix between solid and transparent while the strongest being almost completely transparent, but it caused a small indent on the ground where the shield was, like Eclipse's magic her shields were the same color, a mix of gold and baby blue.

Eclipse was about to tell Nyx about the shadow spells she was going to teach her, but a stray magical blast as black as night appeared out of no where, heading towards her and in doing so, Nyx. Eclipse reacted like it was just pure instinct, she dashed forward so she can stand completely over Nyx to cast a single shield spell, from Nyx's view she seen Eclipse's eyes turn into twin pools of pure darkness while her horn went from its normal gold and baby blue color to the same as her eyes while a shield came to view around both of them, the shield it self was as black as night, almost a void, Eclipse even woven a adsorbing shield spell with it so it can becoming strong with each magical attack.

The single black magical blast did as expected, got stopped and adsorbed into the shield before a laugh boomed out before the shield itself was instantly canceled to reveal a being standing bipedal in a golden like armor, he had his arms crossed before uncrossing his arms and reaching up to take hold of his helmet to remove it to show he had white skin and jet black hair, while his eyes were blue, he had a good sized smile on his face before his helmet disappeared from his hands as he crossed them again. "First going from my student and now becoming a teacher for a foal now Eclipse?" He said.

Eclipse was at first shocked at her shield failing but that shock soon went to surprise and excitement. Eclipse soon got off of Nyx before rushing to the being before blurting out one word with excitement. "Mentor!"

He chuckled before looking to the foal as he got down to one knee, which brought his close to eye level to Eclipse, his full height was a head taller then all three of the oldest Alicorns. "So is this yours or is she that newest Alicorn?" He said while looking at Nyx.

Nyx was scared at the fact he fired that at both of them but she was smart and must have thought this was a test, a mean test but a test all the same. "N-n-no mister, m-my m-mother is T-Twilight S-sparkle a-and m-my Father I-is I-Ink S-spot." Nyx said before looking to Eclipse.

He chuckled nervously before scratching the back of his head while closing his eyes. "Yeah, sorry about that, just wanted to see if Eclipse here was still good at her training and it hasn't gotten rusty after the time I had to go and manage my forces. Also please call me Vegetite." Vegetite said before standing back up as he looked to Eclipse. "So where do you live now Eclipse, since you moved yet again." He added.

Eclipse smiled before looking at Nyx as she gave some thought while nodding her head. "You know, I think its time for us to head back to your home so this lesson is over Nyx, besides with my mentor here, he can help with your training and if it is possible, can you continue my training too?" Eclipse added in a growing small voice at the end of what she said.

Vegetite laughed before standing back to his full height while he moved his hands behind his back and clasp them together at his lower back. "Well I can continue your training with the war I had to go to, which halted your training, but that depends if you gotten the requirements completed, you do know the only magic you have left, and you know as much as I do, I can't teach it unless its just you and me Eclipse." He said.

Eclipse of course paled a bit before shyly nodding her head, she looked to Nyx in the eye. "Nyx, please go to the palace while me and my old mentor talk on what my training will be, and what ever you do, do NOT try to listen in on our talk." She said before looking back at her mentor, to recoil to see her mentor taking a bow and was about to blurt out "not a Princess" but was halted by a Nyx's voice.

Nyx seen Vegetite taking a bow at her at the moment he heard she had a palace so her only response was. "Not a Princess!!!" before turning and galloping off to the palace and to talk on the spells she learned to her mother and father.

Eclipse watched as her mentor stood back up and took the stance he was in before casting a solid soundproofing barrier around them both. "I-I happened w-w-when I-I-I g-got f-found out t-the v-very f-first t-time, I-I d-d-didn't m-mean t-to, b-but I-I a-accidentally a-a-aged t-them t-till t-they w-were n-nothing b-but d-dust, I-I was b-before w-we s-started m-my t-training..." She said while the whole time she descended into tears on what happened long ago, she was even soon conferred by her mentor.

Vegetite sighed before telling her he will finish her training and she would have if he had known about it, but he was sure she had her own problems, and even told her that it's good that she cares on how she feels for that, its best to feel bad for doing it, it reminds them they are alive and real. But he conferred her all the same till she was ready to move to the palace, when she said she had a room their thanks to Twilight.

There is the next chapter, also it seems Eclipse is not pure or clean, but she felt bad, also its never good for that happen at all.

And we seen got to see the surprise, Eclipse's mentor.
