All was well. Celestia had retreated to her room for the night. Luna guarded the castle with her guards. Luna wondered about small things as she walked.How did ponies survive those newly made nightclubs? Stuff like that. Luna was walking through the castle when she felt a presence she had not felt in a long time. She ran towards her sister and away from the guards who asked,"Princess?"

She charged yelling,"TIIIAAAAA!!!"

She ran from herself and for herself. She screeched as the darkness came closer. Then,THUMP!! And then there was nothing.

13 YEARS LATER

Rarity looked out at the sky. How had everything gone so wrong? Equestria was in trouble. Fire,plagues and screams tore through the air. She thought to herself,"Equestria needs her heros." She shook her head."Bad Rarity,"she childed,"That's old thinking,besides that they couldn't have survived this nightmare."

She heard a yell for her outside as she walked out to get Daylight Shift's war reports. She sighed to herself and wished for the good old days. They were no more. She looked at the pictures on her nightstand as she walked out,closing the door on old friends,faces and thoughts

Pinkamena sat in her cell and grumped. She had no pony to eat for 3 days and she was starving. She giggled to herself as she imagined the delicious flesh tearing under her strong teeth. Some part of her cried for them. She brushed that aside. The part of her protested saying "You wouldn't eat them would you?" "So what,"she said out loud getting glances from the prisoners near her who probably thought she was crazy(which she was),"They're dead anyway"

There was a thump behind her as the new victim was dropped down. She smiled and turned around.

Fluttershy retreated into the bathroom.Her new friends were nice to her ,but not as nice as her old ones. She looked in the mirror and swore a promise,"I will avenge you."

She smiled sadly. She had made that promise very day for thirteen years. She looked down at her butterfly necklace,the only remnant of her old life. A urgent call came from outside and she responded,"In a minute."

She sat down in the bathroom and cried. For them,for her,for empty promises.

Applejack finished her labor for the night. She sat down and stared at the stars. She remembered her friends and the times they had spent together. She started crying. hard. She couldn't help it as the grief from her losing her friends and family poured over her. She remembered all of them. She cried for them all. The landlord screamed at her to get back inside. She left dragging her body behind her. When she got there there,the landlord whipped her asking why she was out so late. She shrugged and stepped back inside the house.

Rainbow had had it. The beatings came everyday,harder and harder. She gritted her teeth and worked through the old scars and the new. She barely managed to lay down. She put her head down as the guards came jeering at her. She ignored them just as she had every night for thirteen years. She leaned down and removed the slab looking at the lightning shaped ruby underneath the rock. Good memories flew back to her. She choked back a sob for everything she'd lost. She slid the stone over the jewel and curled up to a painful sleep.

Twilight banged her head on the wall of the chamber she was trapped in. She had cried,kicked and done this routine for thirteen years now. She looked out to the throne room.It was so different from when she was a student. No more were the days she could run through the halls. Her friends were either gone or dead. She didn't know which one was worse. She knew she was trapped in this prison. She knew she could never escape or see her friends again. She looked at the crown laying next to her. She held back tears that were attempting to overflow her for the one millionth time in these 13 years. She looked through her chamber again and cried,"Oh Sweet Celestia!!! Is there any pony who can save us?"
