Chapters The Cloudsdale Weather Corporation
Some pony's think they know what hell is like. I for one, thought it was a place where pony's go when they die if they sinned or something. Everypony is wrong, so was I. When I grew up, I found out that my family had been running a place that most ponyfolk called hell. This hell was called the Rainbow Factory.
My family was called the Warriors, weird name for people that killed filly's for only one propose, to make rainbows. It wasn't always this way though. They used to work with the Cloud Factory, where they would take clouds and grind them into pieces so that way it could be dyed and turned into a rainbow. Now instead they grind something else up, Filly's.
They use a device, a device to extract the color of the rainbow from a pony, sadly, the only way it could was to grind up the filly into bloody pieces and then out came the colors of the rainbow. This horror, or device, was called the Pegasus Device by my ancestors. They built the damn thing to make the process easier. But the only way they could get the filly's, is if they didn't pass the flyers test. At least, that's what they told me. They actully take them in their sleep. Way worse then the other story.
Many of the pony's that work down there are pony's that are desperate for money, some are they because they were sent by their parents, and some are there to see the filly's die. There are three crews that work there, there's the Pony crew, they work on the filly's and clean there cages and feed them. There's the Cooking crew, they make the food for the workers and boosters for the filly's to make the colors shine brighter when they die. Then there's the Maintenance crew, they work on the device, make sure everything runs correctly, they help make the rainbows, and they make sure that there is enough dorms for the workers that live there.
You are most likely wondering what I do. I and my assistant, Nightshade, are the Pegasus Device runners. Yes, I work there. We are the pony's that drop the pony's into the damn thing. They first get harnessed by the Pony Crew, and are sent to us. That's about it, but i'm still not finished with what happens.
There is one mare that is the leader of the whole place. She makes sure everypony is doing there job, even though she only worry's about me. She is my wife, to say the least. We both came her on short notice. Once she married me, we were told by the Cloudsdale Weather Corporation that if she marry's me, she would come down to the Rainbow Factory to work with me. She didn't mind and now we've been working down here for about close to a year. She is named Rainbow Dash, funny name huh?
There is two places that pony's work in. There is the Cloud Factory and the Rainbow Factory, both owned by the Cloudsdale Weather Corporation. Pony's that work there are of all different species. Earthpony, Unicorn, and Pegasus. Pony's that haven't worked there think the know what hell is, they don't. They don't even know what the Rainbow Factory is or who I am.
I am a Earthpony. I am a Warrior. I am a Worker. I am the Black Doctor, and I run the Pegasus Device. Plus our slogan is simple, in the Rainbow Factory, fears and horrors come true, and not a single soul gets through.

The Cloudsdale Weather Corporation
Black Doctor's Office
"So, your name is Anderson Maxwell?" I asked while fixing my tie. Damn tie's, never liked them.
"Yes sir." Anderson said, looking very nervous. It might have been the pony he had seen get harnessed and droped into our machine by Nightshade. But thats what usally happens.
"So, why are you applying for the job again?"
"Sir, I want to be able to see what's it like working here. My friend had told me that it was a fun experience when he worked here."
"Well," I started as I got up from my chair and looked out the window of my office, "Your friend must of been talking about the Cloud Factory because the only fun you're getting from here is a laugh or two from your crew when you've become well acquainted with them. Other then that, this place is the closest to hell you will ever get, are you sure you want this job?"
"Yes sir-"
"DON'T-" I paused for a second after slaming the wall, "-Call me sir, please call me Doctor." I looked at Anderson and saw that he had fell over in his chair. I never liked being called sir, that was the name of my father when he worked down here. Black Sirplane, but pony's always called him Sir. "Sorry for my outburst, I forgot to tell you I don't like being called that."
"Sorry, its my fault Doctor. I didn't know, and yes, I still want the job." Anderson said, repositioning himself in his chair. "Even if my friend was in the Cloud Factory, the Rainbow Factory can't be worse."
"Thats where you're wrong kid." I started again while walking behind my desk to sit down again, "The Rainbow Factory is hellbent on killing fillys to make rainbows that the public want. If we keep it a secret that there children are our sourse of rainbows, we can keep taking then in their sleep. Now, if you are still-"
"I want the job Doctor." Anderson interupted.
I just looked at him and sighed. "If you really want to, you're hired. You will be working in the Pony Crew, Division C. Though I must warn you, the Pony Crew job is said by many workers here to be the most grusome and worst job to have. After you have proven you can move up. You and your crew will become the C Divison Cooking Crew, then the Maintenance crew, and so on and so forth."
"Ok, then what?" Anderson asked. I sighed again. I hated explaining this part.
"After that, you will become my assistent, working beside me to pull a lever and decide if the pony straped is worthy enough to become a rainbow, or should be sent back the the Pony Crew to be fed some more booters for a better rainbow effect. But you cant become the main Pegasus Device runner because only family members of the Warriors can do that. That means only me and Nightshade cand run it. Nightshade is my brother. Rainbow Dash can-" I was then interupted yet again by Anderson.
"Wait, Rainbow Dash works here? I thought she was part of the Mane Six."
"She is still, but most of her time is spent down here. She is my wife." I explained.
"She's your wife?" Anderson asked.
"She has been since Starlight Glimmer was reformed. Since then, she usally doesn't talk about it, hasn't even told her friends yet because of work."
"Anyways, what were you saying about Rainbow Dash?"
"She can also work the device since she is part of the family. But chose to work the whole place insted of the device. She is what keeps the place running, by keeping track of what goes on with all of the Crews. I do the same, but I cant fire pony's. Now, is there anymore questions before I show you to your dorm?" I asked, Anderson shook his head. "Good, now let me show you to your room." I said and opened the door and jestured Anderson to follow me. I then slamed the door behind me with a loud bang, startling Anderson. It was the first test on the job that I loved. "If that scares you, just wait until you're working out there."
Divison C Dorm: Anderson's Room
"Like what you see?" I said while Anderson looked around the room in awe. The kid looked hike he was seeing outer space for the first time with the look on his face. The dorms were made like a grown stallion and mare's dream. Carpit was made from a fabric that I didn't know of and the walls and cealing planted in a lime green color. The bed was a queen sized with a blanket, conforter, and everything else that came on a bed that was natural. I could tell you that it took a lot of money out of our budgets to put together the dorms. Luckly, Anderson came in later.
"Are you kidding, this place looks amazing. I'm going to love it here!" He said, then a knock on the wall started him.
"Would you keep it down in there!" Came a voice on the other side of the wall.
"Sorry!" Anderson yelled back and looked at me with a confused look.
"That is the only con to living in the dorms. Pony's here like some piece and quiet after all the bloodcurling screams they have to hear daily. So keep a inside voice when in your room. Oh, and also." I said while turning around and pointed at the neon bar with a fluid inside rising and lowering. "This is the Rainbow Level. This is kind of your alarm clock when it comes to being in here. There is a sensor up on the cealing that tells the computer that you are in here. If the level goes under this red line, a alarm with sound saying that you are needed in the Pony Crew to harness some pony's. This only will go off if your in the room. Other then that. There will be a anouncement on the intercom five minutes later saying that a certain Crew is needed. It is mostly the Maintenance Crew or the Pony Crew."
"Question, how will I know when its day or night?" Anderson asked. This was a question I was hoping I wouldn't have to answer.
"It's simple, you don't. You go to bed when your tired, and wake up when the rainbow production is low. Thats all to it, having a break is diffrent. You break when its lunch time and when the rainbow production is on a stable level. Any more questions?"
"Nope, I think that is it for now." Anderson said and sat on his bed.
"Now, get some rest. You will be given a tour by Nightshade when you wake up. You don't have to sleep now, but it is best to. Nightshade's room is the first room you go to when you enter the Division A dorms. See you out there." I said, but before I could walk out the door, Anderson had got up to ask another question. "Yes Anderson?"
"What is your real name, by the way?" He ask.
"I don't remember. By the way Anderson," I turned to face him, "Do you know what our slogan is?"
"No, I do not."
"Well, its simple. In the Rainbow Factory, fears and horrors come true, and not a single soul gets through. You remember that for the rest of your life. It might just save your life." I said, and closed the door to his room, and walked out the doors of the C dorms, and walked out to the hell I had been living in for my life. Then something struck me, for once in my life, I felt sorry for what a pony was about to go through. Then a rainbow colored mare started walking towards me with a grin on her face. I knew something was wrong.

The Cloudsdale Weather Corporation
Rainbow Factory Square
"Whats wrong Rainbow?" I asked as the mare approached me.
"C374 Output Generator is shot out. Apparently somepony decided it would be a great idea to eat ice cream around it and then drop it into the generator's engine." She said while brushing up against me.
"Doesn't sound like a problem the Maintenance Crew can't fix." I stated.
"But they want to see you right now. You're going up to the surface in a hour right? I think they need some more "cloud magic" to get the thing running again."
"Are they at the generator room now?" I asked, starting my way upstairs when my shoulder was pulled.
"They didn't say right now you know." Rainbow said. Something was a little off about her in the sense that she was much more, lets say, grabby towards me today.
"But you just-"
"They don't need you right this second is what I meant." She interrupted.
"Rainbow, I need to see them if i'm going up to the surface. I only do once every Dark Hour, which is only once a month, and you know that." I said while pushing her arm aside.
The Dark Hour. It was a time where if anypony was caught snooping around during this hour. They would ether be thrown out of the facility, or worse, thrown in the device. I have to be on the surface grabbing supplies at the time. That's why they have it, Because I'm usually not there. Every time this happens, I always hear somepony thrown in or thrown out. Some pony's just don't listen these days.
"Fine, meet me in my office when your done with your trip. We need to talk about businesses with the new comer. Anderson Maxwell, correct?" Dash said while crossing her arms.
"Yes, that's him. I will see you after the trip. Make sure that if anypony is snooping around at the hour. Kill them if necessary." I said, and made my way up the stairs.
"Doctor?" Rainbow called.
"Yes Rainbow?" I answered back.
"I love you."
I stood there for a second before answering, "I love you too." Then made the rest of the way up the stairs.
Black Doctor's Office
I opened the door to my office and turned on the light. I had to get ready for my trip up to the surface. Most pony's think it should be Nightshade that goes up there, but somepony needs to keep the place running while i'm gone. Nightshade was perfect for that job. Nightshade is a weird pony when it comes to running the place. What I would expect him to do is run the place like he was me, but instead, he runs the place like i'm still there.
I heard a knock at the door. "Come in!" I yelled.
"Um, Doc?" Came a voice while the door opened. It was Nightshade.
"Yes Nightshade, what is it?"
"One of the pony's has fallen in the device again." He said while taking off his hat. Nightshade was a unicorn, unlike me being a Earthpony. He always wore a black flannel and a blue baseball cap with our logo and slogan on it. His cutie mark was of a lever, symbolizing that he was my assistant. He has been since he was a filly.
"So, another one? Do you know their name?" I asked while putting a knife in my bag.
"Open Skies, I think."
"Open huh? Nopony ever liked him anyways." I said after wrapping my bag around my neck. "Are you sure you can take over Dark Hour this time?"
"Yes Doctor, I'm sure. I promise to not let you down." Nightshade said before opening the door for me. I thanked him after.
"Good, that's what I like to hear. Now remember, if anypony gives you any trouble, kill then if necessary. I told Rainbow this too. She will hopefully help you while i'm away. I will see to it that I get some of those chips you like. On the house." I said while giving him a playful punch in the arm.
"Thanks bro. I will see you when you get back." Nightshade said.
"Oh, and one more thing," I started, "When it comes to the time the Dark Hour starts, make sure you announce it this time. I don't want any fatality's while i'm gone. Understood?"
"Yes Doc. Understood."
"Good, now. I will be on my way then." I said, and stepped into the elevator at the bottom of the stairs.
Division C Dorms: Anderson's Room
Anderson had been sitting on his bed for quite some time. The way the room looked made him think about how life would be down here. He thought about how Doctor had told him that this place was not where he would enjoy his life. Anderson though, thought that it was just a way of scaring him out of the job.
While Anderson was thinking, a knock came to his door.
"Who is it?" Anderson called, but no reply was issued. After about fifteen seconds, he got up to open the door, only to find a package on the ground. Picking it up, he brought the package inside.
"What could this be?" He wondered out loud.
Looking closer at the box, it was issued to him. The box was about medium size, kind of compared to a box you would get on any other day. Anderson decided to try to open the box, but to no avail, it was taped shut.
Now what, I don't have any other idea on what this thing is and how to open it. Anderson thought to himself, but then spied a note on the bottom of the box. Blood, or Red Color, was spattered on the note. The note was still readable to the naked eye. It read:
WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GIVE THIS TO THE DOCTOR.
What the? Anderson asked internally as the note had just told him to not give this to the pony that would have a idea on what it is. Plus, who would want Anderson to take care of a box when it was his first day on the job.
"Oh well, I guess." Anderson said, and slipped the box under his bed and pulled the covers over his head for some shut eye before the job. The only problem with that, was that he couldn't stop thinking. Anderson was, said by his friends, a pony that couldn't stop thinking about things. Before he knew it though, the alarm on his wall started going off.
Division A Dorms: Rainbow's Office and Chamber's
The rainbow mare opened the door to her office to find that it had been trashed. Somepony had broke in.
"God Dammit." Rainbow muttered under her breath while picking up the place. "Why do pony's think that they can just come in here and trash the place?"
She reached for her intercom microphone, which was under a stack of phone books that were never used. She meant to get rid of them long ago. After fishing through the stack, she found it and turned it on.
"Nightshade, please report to my office please. There is a problem that needs to be solved." She spoke through. Her voice was nice and smooth when she is in a good mood. But when she heard her voice through the intercom, she sounded like the devil about to break loose. In no more then ten seconds, Nightshade could be seen at the door. Nightshade, sadly, never entered until he was invited.
"Come in Nightshade." She said after sitting at her desk, which was piled with loose papers.
"What seems to be-" He cut himself off after looking at the state her room was in.
"Look's like somepony decided to break in and steal something of mine." Rainbow said, breaking the silence.
Nightshade looked up and spoke. "What did the pony steal?"
"They stole one of the Doctors gifts to me."
"Was it the watch?"
"Yes, and it was the watch that I still wear today, except today because I was working on helping the Pony Crew, which is a very bloody job. Now its gone. Do you have a idea on where it went?" Rainbow said while organizing the papers scattered on the desk.
"No, do you want me to search the dorms?" Nightshade asked with a frustrated look on his face. He didn't like when workers messed with Rainbow and Doctor's belongings.
"Would you mind Night, I don't want you doing something that you don't want to."
"Its fine, its better then running the place during Dark Hour. I'll see what I can find." Nightshade said.
"Thank you Night. I will repay you later."
"No need, you already have." Nightshade said, and left Rainbow alone to clean a mess she didn't even make.
The Surface: Ponyville
Morning, it was morning up on the surface. Shops were just opening up, and the Mane 6 weren't even up yet. At least I didn't see them at the time. I had to get some stuff for getting the generator back online. Damn workers.
"Morning Doctor, how's the place running?" Asked a stallion. It was Filthy Rich himself.
"Mr. Rich, how's the family?" I also asked, exchanging hugs with the richest stallion in Ponyville. Knew him personally as a friend.
"Their doing fine. Diamond Tiara just had her quinceanera not to long ago. Did you miss that?" Rich answered, while stating another question.
"Sadly, yes. The factory had been running on low power for the last month now. Just yesterday a generator blew out. I'm just gathering supply's to get the thing back on." I answered.
"So I take it that the place is running so well."
"Yes, that's true. Me and Rainbow are getting to the bottom of what's going on. Something to do with how we are loosing workers by the day. I mean, Open Sky's just fell in not to long ago." I said, answering a question that wasn't present.
"Geez, well. Better not leave the factory waiting. I'll see you around then Doc." Rich said, turning his back after a wave of his hand.
"You too Rich, tell Diamond I said hi."
"I will, see you around." And like that, Rich left.
I made my way to the Cloud Factory Shuttle Bus to get the stuff I needed. I didn't know why that place had all the things when our factory was bigger, and cooler, then how the Cloud Factory was. Plus, only pegasus pony's could work there. Only they could walk on the clouds. Though, they do prepare for me, a earthpony that can't do such thing.
Stepping on the shuttle bus was one heck of a thing. Every pony knew who I was and when they saw me. It was endless question party, and I wasn't even the host.
"Supply run Doctor?" The driver asked.
"Yep, take me to the top like you always do." I said while sitting down. It was going to be a long trip.
Cloud Factory: Supply Storage Room
"... and that should be everything." Crafty Crate said while looking at his checklist.
"Hopefully Doc is in a good mood today!" Derpy said in joy, "I just love to see him smile after a long time down in that... place."
"Yea, me too." I said while giving Derpy a big bear hug, she loved those.
"We have everything right here Doc." Crafty said, offering me his hand, I gladly took it.
"Good, that's what I like to hear." I replied, "Hey Derpy?"
"Yes Doc?" She answered with a big smile.
"How is Dinky doing?" I asked.
"Oh, she's great. She is with Wild right now while I'm working." She replied, though a name that I didn't know popped up.
"Really? Who is this Wild character?"
"Oh, my bad. Wild Spark is my new spouse. He is great with Dinky and she loves him to death. You should meet him sometime." She replied to my question.
"How did you two meet?" I asked again. She always was willing to answer so she didn't mind.
"Its.. its a long story. I would have to tell you when I transfer to the Rainbow Factory."
"Wait, you're transferring to rainbow making?" I asked. Again, questions.
"Yea, and Wild might be coming too. I might have to give Dinky to Applejack so she can take care of her while I'm down there."
"It would be a honor to have you in my factory. So, is the stuff ready Crate?" I said as the worker jumped when his name was mentioned.
"Yes, I should have a crew coming to pick it up now. You can head back if you would like."
"That would be wonderful. Thanks again Crafty and Derpy. Hope to see you two soon." I said, and walked out of the building.
"See you soon Doctor!" Derpy called out before the door closed. Then my phone rang.
Somepony had just died.
Author's Note
Sorry this came out so late. I had some stuff I had to work on and also it took a lot of time to plan how this chapter would go. I hope you all understand. This was Jimtans12, signing off.
The Cloudsdale Weather Corporation
Cloud Factory Square
It can't be, it really can't be. One of the workers of my factory had died yet again, but the one that died was close to me, but not too close. A dear friend to me, Nightshade, and Rainbow. Sunshower had stolen a gift of mine to Rainbow and hid it somewhere. She did explain herself, but Rainbow wasn't having it. Sunshower had been sent to the Pegasus Device, the worst way to be punished. I was still on the phone with Rainbow while I was hearing this news.
"What, so she's dead now?" I asked in a loud tone. I was also not having it.
"Yes, taking something that is valuable is breaking rule's and plus, the Dark Hour was going on when she was killed. She really was a nice pony to us, but doing this was taking it too far. I had nothing else to do. I hope you understand dear." She replied.
"Yes, I understand. She should have never stole something like that. Did she tell you where she put it?" I asked.
"No, that's the reason she was killed instead of fired. She did give us a slight indication of where it might be."
"What's that?"
"She told me that it might be in a dorm. She left it on a random doorstep in one of the dorms. I have Nightshade looking around. I will announce it that the stolen Item is in one of the rooms and I will award anypony that bring's it to me. I do have a idea where it might be." She told me.
"And where is that?" I asked.
"Well," She paused, "I think it's in Anderson Maxwell's room." I just about dropped my phone at that comment.
"Why are you thinking its in Anderson's room?" I asked.
"The room has been empty for years now. Nopony actually know's that Anderson or anypony live's in there. She must of been about to open the door when somepony was coming into the dorm's and left it there. Anderson might have picked it up and took it in his room. I guess we'll see when I ask for it." Rainbow said.
"Good, I guess I'll be back down in a bit. Tell Nightshade I said hi."
"Oh, about Night." Rainbow said behind the phone.
"What about him. Is something wrong?" I asked while making my way back to the shuttle.
"Insanity is getting to him. He told me a while ago."
"Oh no." I said, a long pause followed. My brother, going insane? It was too much to believe, but after what he's been through. It was believable at this point.
Then I started to cry.
Division C Dorm: Anderson's Room
(After Dark Hour)
Anderson was getting ready for work when yet another knock came to his door. This time, he answered with his voice.
"Come in!" He yelled, and the door opened.
"Mr. Maxwell, can I speak to you for a moment?" Said a grey pony with a black flannel and a cap on. He seemed to like his job, but his face was red.
"Yea, sure." Anderson said.
"I need you to be honest to me. Before you woke up, did you so happen get a package on your doorstep?" The pony asked.
"Yes, I did. Why?"
"I will tell you in a second, do you have it with you?"
"Yes, I do." Anderson replied, and reached under his bed to pull out a brown package, at least, there was one there before. "I'm afraid it's gone. It was under my bed when I fell asleep."
"Really, are you sure it's not under there?" The pony asked again. Anderson noticed that he was a little on edge.
"Yea, but I did take what ever was in it out of it. It was some kind of watch. It had the Doctor and Rainbow's name's engraved on it. I put it in my pocket. I was going to give it to Rainbow personally, but if you are-"
"No, it's fine. Take it to her right away. She will be pleased to have it from you then me. Thank you for your time." The pony interrupted. Then left the room to leave Anderson alone.
"You're welcome! I will need some assistance when I go with the Pony Crew, so I will talk to Rainbow about it when I see her!" Anderson yelled after the pony, and started out the door. Something told Anderson that the object that he had was very important to Rainbow Dash, but the pony that was just in his room made him think more about how this place worked. Apparently pony's can just appear out of nowhere since Anderson didn't hear the pony come through the doors to the dorms.
The alarm rang, disrupting his thoughts and made him think more about the job then anything else.
He was going to be late for his first day, or night, on the job. Anderson really couldn't really tell anymore.
Rainbow's Office and Chamber's
Rainbow had been reading the latest report's about missing filly's when I knocked on the door.
"What is it?" She said, she sounded pissed.
"It's me honey. Is everything alright?" I asked while letting myself in.
"Oh! Sorry dear, I didn't mean to snap at you. I'm just a little discouraged about my watch."
"It's fine," I started, "I bet somepony will bring it soon." After saying that, a knock came to Rainbow's door. "Come in!" I yelled. I knew if Rainbow answered, the door would be burnt down.
"H-hello? I h-have this watch that I think-" Anderson stuttered while entering the room, but stopped mid-sentence as soon as he saw me and Rainbow in the same room. I bet he thought that he was dead.
"What is it that you have again?" I asked, playing the nice cop. I saw Rainbow jump from her seat but I stopped her with my hand.
"I-its your watch Doctor. Somepony left it on my doorstep in a brown box. I'm not sure where the box went, but I have the watch right here." He said while walking towards me with the watch in his hand.
"I'm sorry, but that's not mine." I stopped him, I then pointed a thumb at Rainbow that she couldn't see.
"O-oh, Rainbow. Here you go." He said, and gave the watch to her.
"Anderson, right?" Rainbow asked, clearly calmer then before.
"Yes ma'am, that's me."
"Thank you." She said and gave him a hug, which she has never done. "You know what, take the day off, You've deserved it."
"I agree, you returned something that most worker's wouldn't. I'm guessing you got a visit from Nightshade, am I correct?" I asked.
"Yes, I guess that's his name." Anderson said. He sounded more comfortable now that he know's that he is on Rainbow's good side. "Thank you by the way for the day off."
"No problem, now get going. I need to look at the device and see where Sunshower's droppings went. Adult pony's don't usually get cut up as easily as they used to." I said, and took Anderson by the shoulder and lead him out the door.
"You know what's about to happen, right?" Rainbow asked. My eye's shot open.
It was Date Night.
Pegasus Device Catwalk
(During Dark Hour)
"I hate to do this Sunshower, but you are being accused of stealing my watch! So," Rainbow yelled over the noise of the device powering up, "Where is it Sunny?"
"I don't know, I didn't steal anything ether! Would I really steal something from a friend?" Sunshower yelled back. Nightshade stood in the background, hand on a lever. Used to kill anything in a harness, which was occupied by Sunshower.
"You might as well tell the truth Sunny, I don't want to pull this lever and neither do you. Just tell the truth." Nightshade said, though it was a little hard to hear him over the device.
"Tell the truth Sunshower. I don't have all Dark Hour!" Rainbow yelled. She was pissed off to the point that jumping up on the harness and dealing with her was beginning to be a option, though a suicide stunt.
"Never!" Sunshower cried, tears were running down her face and dripping into her multi-blue colored mane.
"Nightshade, prepare The Teeth." Rainbow said in a loud, but deep tone. The Teeth was what was inside the device, they are what get the job of killing them done, everything else is used to create a rainbow. The Pegasus device roared with life as The Teeth started spinning. More tears were running out of Sunshower's eye's. "I guess the name Sunshower really fit's you."
"SHUT UP RAINBOW!" Sunshower cried. Nightshade had to put in earplug's to keep the cry's of the victim from driving him to insanity. He does it for most of the pony's ready to be sent into the device.
"Somepony is pissed. How about you tell me where you hid the watch and this can all be over!" Rainbow yelled with a grin on her face.
"FINE! Fine... I'll tell you!" Sunshower yelled. She must of expected the device to turn off at the comment, but the machine still was in function.
"Tell away Sunshower! I expect the truth!" Yelling was still necessary for anypony to hear over the machine.
"Yes, I hid it! I can't tell you where I hid it because I didn't pay attention! But yes, I hid it!" Sunshower yelled while sobbing away. She finally
came clean.
"Thank you Sunshower, but that was not the answer I wanted! Nightshade, do the honor's. She need's to be punished." Rainbow started, "It was nice knowing you Sunshower! You're going to make a great rainbow for us!"
"Wait, WHAT!?" Was all Sunshower could say before the harness opened and dropped the confused and frightened pegasus worker to her demise.
Nightshade could be heard crying after the machine was turned off.
Division A Dorm: Nightshade's Room
Insanity was getting to Nightshade.
He slammed the door to his room and called Rainbow on his speaker. He needed to tell her what was going on.
"Rainbow, y-you there." He stuttered.
"Yes Nightshade, wait. Are you alright?" Rainbow asked through the speaker on the wall.
"No, all of this killing of friends and stuff is really getting to me! I can hear voices now. Hallucinations are starting to happen. I think i'm going insane Rainbow. I THINK I'M GOING INSANE!" Nightshade yelled. Followed by sobs. Nightshade really had experienced most of the things that come with insanity. It was killing him slowly.
"Hey, calm down Night. When Doctor returns, we can talk together. I will call a Date Night."
"HOW IS THAT GOING TO HELP?!" Nightshade yelled again. Rainbow had jumped back in her chair.
"It would help if the Doctor know's what's going on. If you really are going insane, we can send Doctor to get some supply's from Zecora if you want to."
"Could we try to contact Doctor now?" Night said in a calm tone.
"I can try. He might be busy now, but I bet if I call, he will answer." Rainbow replied.
"Ok, thank's."
"It's nothing Night. You're family, we all need to help each other." Rainbow said and hung up. Nightshade then sat on his bed with his head in his hands.
"I can't do this. Someday, someday I'm going to die in this damn place. Someday...." Nightshade whispered to himself while bringing the cover's over him. Then after calming down, he fell asleep.
Black Doctor's Office
(Present Time)
"... And can you put mushroom's on that?" A brown pony said on my phone. I was sitting at my desk looking at some plan's that a Maintenance pony thought would work with the factory. It was basically a syringe on a robot arm to extract an adult's rainbow from their body, pin-pointed around the chest area.
"Jonson, would you hurry up with the pizza before I cancel the order behind your back. This is that last time for a month." I said across the room. I didn't yell because I wasn't that mad and didn't feel like it was the time.
"Just a sec boss. I'm almost done." He whispered while putting a hand over my phone.
"Fine, just hurry up." I returned to the plan's. The arm would connect to the Pegasus Device, but instead of killing, it would just take the magic out of then to create the rainbow. Sadly, the last time I tried something like this, everything broke down. Making it a year's worth of work to get the place back together. "These plan's don't make any sense." I said to myself. The my other phone rang, the one connected to the facility.
"Black Doctor, who is this?" I asked into the phone.
"Um, my name is Wild Spark. I was wondering if I could enter the facility to talk about a possible job." Wild said through the phone.
"What race are you?"
"Earthpony."
"Enter the elevator, then go up the stairs to your left after exiting the elevator. Is anyone else with you?" I asked.
"Um, yes. A pegasus." He answered.
"Let me guess, is her name Derpy?"
"Yes. How did you-" He tried to say, but was cut off by a mare's voice.
"DOCTOR! WE'RE HERE!" Yelled the mare's voice.
"Great! Can't wait to see you both. Derpy Hooves and Wild Spark, please enter the elevator before somebody becomes suspicious." I said and pushed a button under my desk.
"See you in a sec Doctor." Wild said, and hung up the phone.
"Look's like we have some new worker's." I said, but then heard Jonson talking about mushrooms and olives again.
"Yea, I think that will be it, oh wait. Can I get some-"
"JONSON! Get off the DAMN PHONE!" I yelled. I was pissed now.
"Ok. Never mind, thanks." He said, then hung up the phone and ran out of the office.
Then I heard a scream at the Rainbow Factory Square.
"They're here." I said, then made my way out of my office.
The Cloudsdale Weather Corporation
Rainbow Factory Square
"So, got an idea of where you're going to be staying?" I said with a grin while Derpy was on the floor with a frightened look on her face. She wasn't prepared for what the factory actually looked like.
"Not that bad of a place Doc. Though, I think Derpy might have a different outlook." Wild said with his arm's crossed. Wild was originally part of a team, not sure what it was called, but they did cool stuff I guess. He had a green flannel on, opposed to Derpy's black one. Wild had a green mane and tail with grey fur. Interestingly enough, he looked a little like me, but with a different mane style and tail.
"Doctor? Was that a filly that just had been dropped into that big machinery?" Derpy asked. I had to answer.
"Yes Derpy, I don't like having pony's like you know about the secret of this place until they are working. Now, I'm guessing you fella's want to come to my office." I said.
"Yes, let's see what this place has to offer." Wild said before a rainbow mare made an appearance.
"Derpy!" Rainbow yelled and hugged the bubbly mare.
"Rainbow, its been so long! I forgot you worked with Doctor!" Derpy said, while returning the hug.
"Yea, and you must be Wild." Rainbow said while holding a hand out to the stallion.
"Yes ma'am. Are you and the Doctor, a thing?" Wild asked, I forgot to tell him.
"Yes, me and Doctor have been married for five years, how long have you and Derpy been together?"
"Seven month's." Wild answered.
"Nice. Anyways, I just wanted to say hi. Have a great time here!" Rainbow said before heading back to her office.
"Welp, let's go then." Derpy said.
"I agree, let's go." I said, and escorted the other's up to my office.
It was the start of something new.
Black Doctor's Office
"Well, welcome to the Rainbow Factory." I said with a big smile while Wild and Derpy were looking out the window at the device. A pony had just been dropped in.
"Sure is a sight Doctor, how long did it take to build this place?" Wild asked, comforting the scarred pegasus.
"I'm not really sure. That's a question only my ancestor's know." I replied. I rarely brought up the idea of having ancestor's.
"What family are you from?" Wild asked.
"The Warrior's." I said, Wild spun around and looked at me with a sight of pure horror.
"You are from the Warrior's?" Wild asked. Boy oh boy, question time.
"Yes, is that a problem?" I asked, clearly trying to figure out if I scarred him, or something else happened.
"I had a friend die because of the Warrior's. It was a long time ago."
"Who was this Warrior? I would never kill something with out a purpose." I asked. A Warrior, kill somepony?
"Her name was Black Nurse." He said, I almost fell to the ground.
She was my mother, my only mother.
Wild noticed the look on my face. "Do you know her Doc?" He asked.
Should I tell him, or should I keep it be? I asked myself.
"Doctor? Are you feeling alright?" Derpy asked, snapping me out of my trance.
'Yes I know her, she was my mother. I don't know what she was doing when she wanted to kill a adult, its against our rule's. Unless somepony thinks its a good idea to break rule's here." I answered. Wilds expression's went from What the hell? to That's understandable.
"So, what is the rule's around here anyway's?" Derpy asked.
"Well," I started while sitting at my desk, motioning then to the two seats on the other side, "Its really simple. One, don't steal. Two, Don't kill other worker's without a purpose. Three, don't ever go up to the surface unless you have been told to or its a holiday, but most of the pony's stay down here anyway's. Then there is four, don't ever set foot into a restricted area or in a office where you don't belong unless given permission. Also, knock before entering. That's about it."
"Sound's easy to remember. Basically, don't be stupid." Wild said.
"Yep. Now, you two will be working in the Pony Crew. I have a worker named Anderson Maxwell that I think you should meet. He is part of the crew, plus two other's. Blue Bobbin, and Amethyst Skim." I said.
"What does the Pony Crew do?" Derpy asked.
"You will clean the cages of the filly's and feed them the food that the Kitchen Crew makes. You will also be harnessing the filly's and sending them to that thing." I said, pointing at the machine behind them.
"When do we start?" Wild asked.
"When you alarm in your dorm ring's." I said, and took them to the dorm's that they both will be staying in. It was the first time in Cloudsdale History that two pony's, besides me and Rainbow, would be staying in the same room together.
Division C Dorm: Wild and Derpy's Room
"This is our room?" Derpy asked. It was the same reason why Anderson questioned it. It was too nice to be a dorm.
"It looks more then a dorm to me." Wild said.
"Yes, it's more then a dorm, but its a place to stay. Since you cant go back up, the room's need to be like a house. Except smaller." I replied. I even though they were too much, but then I think about me and Rainbow's room. That was big.
"So, it this everything. Are we free to get moved in?" Wild asked, while Derpy was walking around the room.
"Yep, your stuff is on its way, and we made a exception." I started, "You know your daughter Wild?"
"Yes, what about her?" He replied.
"Well..." I said, then there was a knock on the door. Right on time! I internally celebrated. "Come in!" A little filly's head poked in through the crack in the door after opening.
"Mom, dad?" The filly asked.
"Dinky!" They both yelled and ran to the door to give the filly a hug. I'm too nice.
"What is she doing her?" Derpy asked.
"Well, I don't think she want's to be alone. So I asked Rainbow if you could have her down here with you. She is old enough to be around other's and not be mistaken as a filly that had escaped, but." I pulled out a key card with her identification on it. "She will need to keep this on her at all time's, if she loses this, she won't be able to get into her dorm."
"Wait, she wont be with us?" Wild questioned.
"No, she will need her own dorm. We have one being built for her right next to Rainbow's office. That way if anypony trys to take her, somepony will pay." I assured. This isn't the first time me and Rainbow had let a pony's filly come down here. A total of five have gone down here, only two are left. Now its three.
"Ok, good. Thank you for everything Doc. You're like a brother to me." He said.
"Practically, you are." I replied. Rainbow and Derpy are cousins. Though they refer to themselves as more of friends then cousins.
"I see. Well, see you later Doc, are you taking Dinky with you?" Derpy asked.
"Yes. By the way, do you know our slogan?" I asked.
"Yes, we do. I told Wild when I told him about this job." Derpy replied.
"Good, come on Dinky, let me show you to your room." I said to the purple mare, who looked even cuter then in the picture's.
"Ok Uncle Black." She said. She is the only one that calls me Black.
And I respect that.
Rainbow's Chamber's/ Dinky Hooves Chamber's
(End Of Shift)
"You know, this should really be called our chamber's except it being only your's Rainbow." I said while carrying a tired filly on my shoulder. It was the first time ever I was carrying a filly without a set goal on killing it. I felt warm inside as I felt her breath's on my neck.
"I know honey. I've been trying, but the damn Maintenance Crew wont do anything." Rainbow replied as she opened the door to Dinky's room.
It was the end of our shift. Every time it is, I write on a whiteboard all the names of pony's that were thrown out or killed. I started towards the board and noticed a name that seemed to be written not long ago. It was a worker that didn't really do much. Bacon Braid's name was on the board.
"Rainbow, did you put Bacon's name on here?" I asked while handing Dinky to her.
"No, was it there before?" She asked. I shook my head. "Maybe Nightshade put it there."
"Nightshade doesn't have a key to our chamber's, only our office's. Somepony broke in, again."
"I swear to god. I don't know who keeps breaking in, but it's really leaving me peeved." Rainbow growled.
"Rainbow!" I yelled and put my hands over Dinky's ear's, which of course didn't wake her. "We do not use that kind of language here." I said with a smirk. I was clearly messing with her, but she seemed to not take the joke.
"Heh, sorry." Rainbow said while petting her arm.
"Rainbow, I was joking."
"Whatever Doctor. Write your names down and we will deal with Bacon's name later. Just cross it out or something."
"Alright." I replied to Rainbow.
I started to write the names. Only two died, Open Sky's and Sunshower's name appeared on the board after I was finished. Something felt off about Bacon's name though. Who put it there, and why was it here? I looked over at Rainbow and saw that she had fallen asleep with Dinky on her bed. I walked up to the two in Dinky's room and looked out the window.
Everything seem's normal. Now for the real question, should I wake Rainbow up? I asked myself, but came to the conclusion that it's better off if she stay's put. She could always come into the bed room when she wakes up.
Then I looked out the window again, and saw Bacon Braid harnessed over the Pegasus Device.
What in the hell- Then I saw it.
Nightshade had his hand on the lever that controlled the device, and he didn't show no sign of sadness or anything. He showed pure madness with his devilish grin. Everything was wrong with the picture I was seeing.
Nightshade looked like he was about to pull down the lever, and all I could hear was the laughing of the pony that used to be my brother that had lost all grip on reality.
"RAINBOW! WAKE UP RIGHT NOW!" I yelled. Rainbow shot up and looked in the direction I started to point.
"WHAT THE HELL?" Rainbow yelled. We then both dashed out of the room.
I couldn't tell if Rainbow could hear it, but Nightshade wasn't just laughing, he was talking to Bacon.
"What's the matter? I mean come on, did you think you could just go through out your day and not say a word to me?" Nightshade said. He wasn't quite yelling, but he was loud enough to hear.
We both ran onto the catwalk and tried to run as fast as we could. I could start to feel the burning feeling that most pony's get when running. I tried yelling his name, but was cut off by The Teeth starting up. I had no other choice.
I had to stop him, we had to.
We started closing in on the catwalk leading to the device. Nightshade was still rambling on about some kind of relationship, but Bacon kept telling him that she knew nothing about him, nor had any relationship or feelings towards him. Which just made him even more pissed.
"NIGHTSHADE!" I yelled and tackled him to the ground and started to slap him. "GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!"
"DOCTOR!" Rainbow yelled at the harness began to lower the unicorn into danger.
"RAINBOW, GET THE TEETH TURNED OFF AND GET BACON OUT OF THERE!" I yelled over the sound.
"WHY ARE YOU STOPPING ME! I HAVE MY RIGHT'S!" Nightshade yelled, but I didn't care.
"WAKE UP!" I yelled, and instead of slapping him, I brought my fist down. Then the sound of The Teeth shutting down filled my ears as I saw Rainbow got Bacon out of the harness. Then I looked back at Nightshade.
He wasn't breathing.
Rainbow Factory Heath Clinic
"He is going to be fine." Doctor Raincloud spoke to me while Rainbow was sleeping a chair at the clinic.
"Good, I would never hit my brother, but he was resisting. He wasn't acting like himself and had your wife in the harness."
"He did?" Raincloud ask with a terrified look.
"Yea, luckily she is alive and doing fine." I replied, "She is back in her room next to your's."
"Thank you Doctor, I owe you one."
"Keep Night alive and that's more then paying me back." I said.
"Alright. Goodnight Doctor."
"Goodnight Raincloud." I said, and walked over to Rainbow to wake her.
"Is he going to be alright?" She asked after being awoken.
"Yea, he is still having problems with his breathing, but he should be fine in two to three day's." I relied while taking Rainbow's hand, and walked back into the now silent factory as everypony went to sleep since the production was high. The walk back took a bit, but after a little while, we made it back.
Rainbow AND Doctor's chamber's
"Let's go to bed, for real this time. Ok?" I asked while falling on our bed backwords with Rainbow in my arm's.
"Yea, definitely." She replied with a giggle.
"Good." I said and pulled the cover's over us after the door shut. Automatic door shutting mechanisms rock.
"Goodnight Blacky." Rainbow said, referring to my old nickname, before honey.
"Goodnight Dashy." I replied, but that was a nickname she had before I came around. So it kind of didn't count.
After a moment of sweet silence, I fell asleep.
