A future of rainbows

     It was early in the morning when Rainbow was suddenly awoken by a loud beeping noise coming from her alarm clock. "Five more minutes." She groaned as she hit the snooze button.

Soon she was back to sleep until five minutes went by and once again she was awoken by that annoying beeping sound. "Alright!" " Alright!" "I'm up!" She yawned. Rainbow got out of the warmth of her bed and did some  stretches, afterwards  she went in the closet and got some blue jeans, a blue shirt that was darker then her fur with her cutie mark on it and a blue leather jacket slightly lighter then her shirt. Thank Celestia there's no dress code. Heh. Don't want to look like a nerd now do I? Man I'm hungry let go gets so grub! she thought as she put her clothes on the bed. She would put those on after eating so she wouldn't mess up her clothes.

        Rainbow went straight to the bathroom to brush teeth and maybe take a restroom break. Once done she headed down stairs and was welcomed by the aroma of pancakes. In the kitchen she saw her mother making just that.

        "Excited for you first day of school?" Her mother asked sincerely.

   "Not as much as I am to eat these pancakes!"  Rainbow exclaimed.

     "Hehheh! I can tell you're gonna make a lot of friends!" Streak laughed while reading the morning paper.

Rainbow engulfed those pancakes like she hadn't ate in days. "Woah, Rainbow slow down, you don't want to get a stomachache now do you?" Her mother scolded. When Rainbow had finished eating, she washed her hands and face, then she put on her clothes.

        It was 7:15 and school started at 7:30 her house was about eight minutes away. So when she got there she would have seven minutes to spare.

   "Ready to go,Rainbowdash?" Asked her father.

     "Sir! Yes sir!" She said doing her best army cadet impression.

"At ease soldier!Let's get those wings moving out to door!" He said doing his best war general impression.

They both laughed at each other's antics. Firefly couldn't help but giggle at how silly the were being.

     "Ok kiddo let's get going."Her father said. "Ok Dad, race ya!" She said. And she was off.

       "Hey! That's not fair!" Her father shouted.

"Well you better catch up because she's way ahead of you."Said his wife as she was trying to hold in her unruly giggles.

    Soon streak was off to catch up with his daughter.
