Raising A Sun

Celestia sighed. She was walking back from the third meeting today. All three had been about reports of a sonic rainboom peformed by a young cyan pegasus during flight school. As she walked down the magnificent halls of canterlot castle she smiled. She was finally going to get to sit down. Although, as soon as she shut the doors of the throne room, somepony started knocking on them. She sighed again. "Who is it?" She asked through the ornate door.

"Commander Fast Flank your majesty! I've come about a delivery!" The commander called back. Delivery? She didn't remember ordering anything... And the commander never usually dealt with the mail... This had to be important.

"Come in, commander." She said at last. Fast Flank did so, shutting the door behind her.

"You're gonna want to see this." She said through the wicker handle of a small basket. "It was found outside of the royal gates your majesty. One of my men spotted it while doing a fly around." She said, placing the basket on the ground. It's contents moved slightly, before settling back down.

"What is it?" Asked Celestia, eyeing the basket suspicously.

"See for your self." The commander leaned down, pulling the blanket covering the basket away with her teeth. Celestia gasped, before falling onto her haunches.

"Is that- Could it really be-" She stuttered.

"Yeah. It is, and could really be." Fast flank said softly. Celestia gazed into the small basket for a while, before standing up and wiping away a joyful tear. She was looking at a young sleeping alicorn.

Soon after his arrival, Princess celestia had been looking after the small red colt. She hadn't taken her eyes of him since he got to her, worrying some of the staff. "Princess, mabye you should leave him for the nanny for a while..." Suggested the chef. Celestia audibly facehooved. How could she have forgotten the nanny? She immediately took of, moving fast, but gracefully towards the nanny.

Once in the nursery the colt slowly woke up, and looked around. Unable to find his mother, he stood up. Just as he was about to step out of his small basket, A short mint green mare come out of the door infront of him. They stared at each other for a few moments bofore the mare broke the silence.

"Oh my goodness, you're even more adorable than I was told!" She half yelled, startling the small colt and dropping the plate of cookies. She looked down. "Heh, whoops..." She picked up the wreckage, blushing slightly as her superior came in from the kitchen. "Golden, what have I told you about getting to excited?" The taller mare asked, irritation in her voice.

"Sorry miss hooves, i'll try to be more careful..." Golden muttered, just loud enough for her boss to hear.

The colt looked down and picked up a cookie that the shorter mare had missed while cleaning up and took a big bite. Mabye being here wasn't going to be bad after all.

A/N Wow... That was hard... Well anyway, hope you enjoyed! My first attempt at this fic got some negative responses, so I decided to redo it. I think this version will go alot better, But tell me if you find anything wrong with it.
