Chapters “Anon are you sure about this? I mean of all ponies I totally get the whole 'rush' thing but isn't this going a bit far?” Rainbow asked with a concerned expression on his face. He always got this way when you went balls to the wall on the extreme spectrum. To be fair to him though this was pretty sketchy, even for you.
Currently at the top of a mountain in a wing suit and parachute made by your good friend Elusive, it was easy to understand Rainbows skepticism. Although the designer was more than up to the task and if he thought the work was good then so did you.
“Rainbro, chill out dude, I totally got this.” The statement didn't seem to get though to him because he was still low key freaking out.
“I'm not worried about you Anon, I'm worried about that stupid suit getting ripped or that para-whatever not working or something! This stunt could land you in the hospital or worse!” Trying and failing to remain calm Rainbow tried to take deep breaths to relax, even a little. Starting to feel bad you walk over to pat the cyan pegasus on the head. The usual dumbass grin plastered on your face.
“Hey even if all that stuff fails, which I doubt they will. I still got you here to save my skin, right dude?”
He considered it for a moment before a confident smile crossed his muzzle. “No doubt, I got your back.”
“Alright awesome dude. That mean we can start the countdown?”
“Totally.” He flew a few feet up and put on his best announcer voice.
“The awesome and radical Anon will now attempt a stunt never before seen in Equestrian history! A flight down a mountain without any wings! ARE YOU READY!?
“HELL YEAH!”
“In 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4...”
“3 2 1 GO!”
With that you jumped off of the mountain and spread your arms and legs wide. For a brief instant there was a sensation of weightlessness before gravity reclaimed your body. Sailing down the mountain your heart was pounding like a bass drum in your chest. Each beat sent more and more of the euphoric chemical known as adrenaline through your bloodstream. Soon it consumed the being known as Anon, nothing could ever top this feeling. Angling from side to side experimenting with the feel of the suit it seemed Elusive did a hell of a job. Everything worked perfectly, but there was only one way to find out how well the suit really worked.
Quickly you tucked your arms and legs in and rolled, while a little disorienting it felt so freakin cool. Spreading your limbs back out to catch the wind there came cheering louder than the wind screaming all around you. Sounded like Rainbow had gotten over the fear for your life and was enjoying the show. Little did the cyan pegasus know that was only the beginning.
Tucking into a ball while flipping and rolling were all you were able to manage with relative safety it still did the trick for Blitz. He seemed almost as pumped as you were. Noticing the approaching treeline one more trick came to mind. It would be a nice finisher.
As trees started to pass down below you angled the wing suit up with all of your might. The steep angle sent you sailing back up, while still ascending the transition to the cannonball trick was easy. To anypony passing by you probably did look just like a ball sailing through the clouds. When the stunt reached its apex the parachute popped out jolting you but slowly starting a decent as well.
While slowly sailing over the trees Blitz easily caught up and couldn't help but gush like an awestruck colt at his first Wonderbolts show. “Dude, Anon, that was fucking AWESOME! Like as soon as you started pulling off those moves I knew you had it. It was just so cool, if ponies started to do this then there could be a new division added to the Wonderbolts!” He continued to gush for what seemed like minutes, not that it wasn't flattering or anything.
You smiled at the excitement of the technicolor pegasus. He always loved it when you did something cool. Even if he would probably never admit it out loud RB was undoubtedly your biggest fan.
“Sorry to shoot you down dude but I don't do this stuff for fame or anything its all for the fun and the rush. Speaking of, all that fun worked up a hell of a sweat. Starting to smell pretty rank and a shower sounds real nice right now.”
“Tell me about it, why did you think I was flying in front of you?” He let out a small chuckle.
Faking a hurt look you pouted, “Is it really that bad?” You lifted an arm as best you could in the parachute and took a whiff... damn rank didn't do that justice. It was strait up raunchy.
“Alright its pretty bad but to be fair I climbed a mountain in this.”
Blitz looked at you and deadpanned. “Nobody ever said you had to do that you dork.”
“But dude, it was such good cardio. How do you expect me to look this sexy if I don't do cardio?”
Rainbow scrunched up his muzzle and looked away you could have sworn he was blushing too. Ponies seemed to do that a lot around you, weird but whatever.
You angled the parachute towards a clearing in Whitetail woods. After touchdown you began to pack the parachute back up. Putting the backpack back on Rainbow walked to your side.
“So Anon I was wondering, why did you get a house all the way out here?”
Taken aback for a moment at the sudden question you consider it for a moment. Taking a deep breath of fresh air and letting the peace of this place wash over you.
“It's not that I don't like ponies or anything it's more like I enjoy the peace and quiet when I want to chill. While I like stunts and stuff my alone time is when I can let everything go and unwind ya know?”
Looking down at Blitz you notice him hoofing at the dirt and pouting? Not something he does often... on second thought he does that whenever he doesn't get what he wants or when he's bummed out. “Yo Rainbro you good dude? Somethin buggin you?”
Seeming to come out of some sort of daze he looks at you and goes to speak but hesitates for a moment. Then he says in a near whisper. “Sorry I cut into your alone time Anon if you want me to beat it just say so.”
For a moment you stand in the clearing dumbstruck before you burst out laughing. Clutching your sides after a moment as they begin to hurt. Looking up to find an extremely pissed off Rainbow staring you down. He flies at you with blinding speed knocking you down and pinning your shoulders. Getting up in your face he almost screams at you, “you think that's funny Anon?!”
Looking into his face you notice its all red and his eyes make it look like he's about to cry. The anger was etched into his every feature. He had a good hold on you but being the stronger of the two you reach your arms around his body and pull him close. This caught Rainbow by surprise and he struggled for a moment before relaxing into you, realizing it was just a hug. As he eases into your embrace you sit up. Seeming not to notice the change in position the pegasus still had his muzzle buried in your chest.
“Rainbow Blitz, you are literally my best friend. Being alone is nice sometimes. But being with you is great all the time. Don't think that for even a second you bug me, that's impossible. Although you can be a dork at times you're still awesome.
You instantly cheer up when Rainbow looks up at you with his easygoing smile. “Thanks Anon, sorry for freaking out like that on you.” He pushes away to stand back up, for a moment you don't want to let go of him. Wanting to hold him longer just to make sure everything's good, but Rainbow is his own stallion and if he seems good he probably is.
Although you find yourself missing his touch, his soft fur, that pleasant smell of fresh rain... where where you going with that? Whatever doesn't really matter. You shrug off the odd thoughts and notice Rainbow looking at you like he asked a question... damn.
“Sorry dude spaced out, what did you say?”
“I asked if you were ready to head back to your place yet.”
“Oh yeah, just gimme a sec to get this stupid suit off, had enough cardio for today.” Blitz laughed lightly at that one, nice to know he's in a good enough mood for a joke.
After taking off the suit and slinging it with the parachute over your shoulder you look over at RB. He seems to be looking anywhere but you at the moment. While you only had shorts on under the suit it didn't seem like a big deal. Then it came back to you, RB said that he didn't like seeing you without clothes. Said it was weird because you wore them all the time or something like that. It was only a shirt though so no biggie.
“I won't turn you to stone or anything if you look at me dork.”
His face seemed to get red at that statement. “What, no, your almost naked I'm trying to be respectful here.”
“Dude I've told you before people walk around shirtless all the time and ponies are naked almost all the time.”
Seeming to have some sort of internal conflict for a moment he finally decides to look over at you. There was a noticeable tinge of red in his cheeks. This was too good of an opportunity to pass up. Putting on your best concerned look you walk over and lean in close putting a hand on his forehead.
“You okay Rainbow? Do you feel sick?”
At that he immediately takes off in the direction of your house. Shouting behind him, “Yeah, totally, I'll grab some ice from your place and meet you there”
After staring off into the woods for a moment it looked like Blitz just ditched you. Realizing this you start walking in the direction of your house. It seemed a little weird that Blitz was this worried over the possibility of a fever, but he is an athlete so it would make sense he would be worried about his health.This still didn't make the ditching any less of a dick move, just an understandable one. With that thought sticking you continued on. Then something came to mind, Blitz was in a hurry and was about to try and find something... which meant the place was gonna be a total wreck when you got there. With newfound motivation you started to pick up the pace, hoping that the damage wouldn't be too bad.
The house started to emerge from the treeline a short while into your dash through the forest. It was a cozy little wooden house with a fair sized porch complete with some chairs and a hammock. That particular spot was probably one of the most comfortable places to take naps. It was almost a shame that Rainbow seemed to use it more than you did, almost.
Walking onto the porch the door was already open and there was a racket coming from inside. The Cyan tornado was probably wrecking the place, making it even more of a mess than what you left it. Stepping through the door frame you made your way to the kitchen to find Blitz halfway inside a cabinet tossing out bowl after bowl.
That was a little weird since you were pretty sure you didn't have that many freakin bowls. Choosing to ignore that little detail there was also the question as to why he was looking in a cabinet for an ice pack. Rainbow has been here plenty of times so he should know where everything is.
Letting out a sigh you decided it doesn't really matter, what does matter is how badly you need a shower. Leaving RB to himself you drop off the wing suit and parachute by the laundry room and move into the bathroom. It was a little small like everything else in the house, seeing as it was made for ponies and not people. It worked well enough for a quick shower and after drying off you covered up to walk across the hall and get some clean clothes.
Elusive really did symbolize generosity well. He had made your entire wardrobe and gave a major discount when you insisted on paying for the clothes. Sometimes you thought he was a little too generous. It would be pretty simple to take advantage of his charitable nature if one were inclined to do so. Although seeing as he was an element and close friends to one of the princes most wouldn't even think about doing something that dumb.
After deciding on a black tank top and some sweatpants you started to wonder why it was so quiet. Hopefully Blitz didn't total your house to the point that there was nothing left to mess up. Then again he spent plenty of time here and treated this place like his own so it shouldn't be too bad.
Walking out into the kitchen you are amazed to see that it is completely clean. Glancing over into the living room you see Blitz chilling on the couch with a giant bowl of nachos and some salsa on the coffee table.
“Why do you look like you just saw Prince Solaris turn down a cake?” The question snapped you out of the daze and you laughed lightly at the joke.
“Sorry dude just pleasantly surprised that there isn't a mess and those nachos look so good right now.” Walking over and sitting on the couch you remember why all of your furniture was custom made, it made them some of the few objects here that accommodated your size. As a bonus all of it was comfy too. While you started to munch on nachos Blitz turned on the TV and it held the title to one of the best movies in this world.
“The first Iron Pony?”
“Yeah I was thinking we could have a marathon. Up for it Anon?”
“Rainbro this is why you are at least 20% cooler than anypony I know.”

Damn it has been awhile since I've written anything but I finally have a little free time now so I figured I would give it another go. Hope you all enjoy the story.
It felt like Solaris had a personal grudge against you when the sun shined right into your face this early. Groaning didn't make it go away and the pony sized lump sleeping on you didn't leave room to get away from the light. Settling for the uncomfortable right now you looked down the cyan pegasus.
Rainbow looked peaceful when he was asleep. His breath strong and steady, that technicolor mane covering most of his face. Not gonna lie, it was freakin cute.
Although his leg was in a weird position, it couldn't be comfortable. Wait, ponies only have four legs so what is... that's not a leg. That is Definitely not a leg. Fuck. How to do this without making it any more awkward. Blitz was a heavy sleeper but not that heavy.
The idea that came to mind made you feel like an asshole, but it was better than the 'sorry I got morning wood while sleeping on you' conversation.
“Sorry dude, it's for the greater good.”
Swiftly you roll off the couch and quickly make way to the kitchen, cringing after hearing a small groan. Rainbow was probably pissed yet not pissed enough to move from the spot he fell to.
“That hurt dude, what the hell?”
“Well you were sleeping on me again and I wasn't about to just lay there with the sun beaming into my eye sockets.”
He gave a small hmph and laid his head on the floor to try and go back to sleep. That's one problem down and one to go. Rainbow was hard to wake up most of the time, not much short of an earthquake would do the job. However having spent as much time together as you had learning how to get him out of a stupor was simple. One way was food, that at least got him awake enough to stop using you as a mattress. The second way got a more instant reaction.
Opening the fridge it seemed mostly bare except for, the nectar of the Gods. Grabing two cans of Superstar green apple energy drink you make your way back to Rainbow, who was still sprawled out on the floor. Sitting the can down in front of him gets an immediate reaction.
Rainbows head shoots up and a smile slips onto his features. Smiling, you sit cross-legged in front of the cyan pone and crack the can open. Rainbow Blitz does the same, downing at least a quarter of the can in one gulp. Instantly invigorated by the caffeine RB stands up, stretching all the kinks out of his joints.
“You might not have to do that if you actually slept on the couch instead of me.”
“Yeah? Well maybe if you got a better couch then I wouldn't be forced to.”
“Ouch dude, taking shots at my taste in furniture. However will I recover from such a devastating insult, oh woe is me.”
“Don't be so dramatic dork you've been spending too much time with Elusive, he's starting to rub off on you”
Looking Rainbow dead in the eyes, you smirk, then wiggle your eyebrows. Taking a moment to realize what you meant Rainbows face turned beat red.
“Gods you're such a pervert Anon!”
“Ha, what's the matter? Your the one who thought of it first.”
“Did not! That is nowhere near what I meant and you know it!”
“Whatever you say horndog, just try to keep your head out of the gutter.”
“My head is not in the gutter! It's... wait... what's a horndog?”
“Back home it means a person who's always horny, hence 'horn'dog.”
“I... You... Shut up!” You swear if Blitz got any more red he would probably pop.
Thinking the poor soul had enough it seemed like a good idea to stop teasing the pegasus.
“Alright, I'll stop, don't ruffle your feathers Blitzy.”
That seemed to get Rainbow to calm down, at least a little bit. His face was still red though. Still must not be comfortable with that kind of stuff. Ponies didn't seem to talk about anything like that, or even joke about it that often. Blitz was cool with it most of the time, even so he still got like this every once and a while.
“So you wanna go grab some breakfast from sugarcube corner before work?”
“Sure Anon but I got actual stuff to do today so it'll have to be quick.”
“No worries man, lets get going then.”
You get up and walk with Rainbow out of the house. The trail to town was one that the two of you had walked many times. The scenery passed by quickly and soon enough sugar cube corners bell rung signaling the arrival of new customers. Almost the instant the door shut a pink blur whizzed past you and tackled Rainbow. Bubble Berry was on his hind legs and seemed to be crushing Blitz with a bear hug. He tried to say something but the party pony was squeezing the air from his lungs.
“I'm sooo happy you're here Blitzy! You too Anon.” Putting the pegasus back down he tried to catch his breath but was hit with a verbal assault from Berry.
“What were you thinking of getting today huh? We have all kinds of superlicious goodies! Like chimmy cherries, cherry changas, cupcakes, churros, muffins, pies, and a whole lotta other stuff too!”
Having taken that brief moment to savor the air he was currently breathing Rainbow replied in a much less energetic tone than Berry.
“Yeah, that all sounds great Berry but I think I'll just take a bagle.”
The plain sounding order seemed to deflate Berry a little. He was still energetic, just not bouncing anymore.
Deciding to follow suit as to keep the pony reasonably calm seemed to be the best idea. “That sounds pretty good, I'll take a blueberry bagle.”
“Okie dokie, back in a flash.”
With that the pink pony trotted to the counter to get the beagles while you lead Rainbow to a booth. When Berry brought the food over you made sure to give him a nice tip. Never hurt to be generous and there wasn't much to buy besides groceries... maybe a little booze too.
“I don't know why he always does that, it's starting to get annoying every time I walk in here.”
Looking up from the bagle you can't help but smirk. “Don't be so harsh Blitz, it's just how Berry shows his affection. Honestly it seems he has more of that for you than anypony else.”
Hearing that Blitz started to cough, almost choking on his food. He looked up about to berate you for making fun of him again, then noticed you weren't laughing or grinning. Blitz suddenly found the table very interesting.
“Nothing to be worried about dude, just something I picked up on. Some ponies swing that way and its no biggie. Their life their call right? Just as long as they don't drag others into it, all's good.”
Rainbow didn't look up, eyes glazed over like he was somewhere else. “Yeah I get that, it's... just not my thing.”
Blitz slowly looked up at you, a question seeming to dance on the tip of his tongue. He decided against asking whatever it was he went back to munching on the beagle. It always sucked when Rainbow got like this but this time would be different. You didn't want to see your Rainbro down and you had the perfect idea for a pick 'em up.
“Yo Rainbro I was thinking how about we go out for drinks after work today? Have some fun at the Tipsy Owl. What do ya say?”
He stopped sulking for a moment to give you a skeptical look. “Anon, I don't even know how we managed to stumble back to your house after the last time we went. I think I'll pass on this one.”
Damn, you had hoped it wouldn't come down to this but there doesn't seem to be any other options. It's time to use the secret hidden technique, the guilt trip. Looking down at the table for a moment to prepare then look back up at Rainbow with eyes filled with sadness. A disappointed frown etched into your face.
“Oh, no. No. I will not fall for that crap again Anon.”
Not a muscle moved, it would work, it had to work.
“ I mean it Anon. I am not going to the bar.”
Tears started to form, as they did Rainbow cracked and slammed his hooves onto the table.
“Alright! Fine! I'll go, just knock it off. Its feels so wrong seeing you cry Anon. Like, you're a tough guy who I've seen win a freakin MMA match against a minatour. NOTHING should be able to make you cry.”
“Ha, well to be fair Iron Will was all talk no game. Could not take a punch for shit.”
“That doesn't matter he was still a MINATOUR.”
“Whatever dude, so after work I'll go shopping and then meet you there sound like a plan?”
“Yeah and I gotta get going now Anon. Thanks for breakfast, I'll see you tonight.”
“Peace out dude.”
With that Rainbow got up and trotted out of the store. It must be nice being so good at your job, most days you were pretty sure he worked for about two hours and napped the rest of the time. Not that it was hard being a contractor for Ponyville. Lots of variety, always something to do, helping out the town, and being able to meet a bunch of ponies was nice. Just seemed like you were the only one actually getting shit done sometimes.
Walking out the door and taking a short stroll to town hall the front desk mare waves as you pass by, like always. Returning the gesture and taking a left down to the hall a small room labeled 'supply' comes into view. It contained a locker that you kept work related stuff in: jeans, t-shirts, tools, gloves and boots.
Throwing on work clothes took no time at all and you walked out the room only to head directly to the Mayors office. She was the one who assigned all of the jobs. Thinking on it now she did seem really happy when you came to her and offered to do this. It had apparently been vacant for quite some time, no wonder if they had to do this much. Then again being able to work better than the average pone at most things surely helped.
Reaching the door and knocking you wait for a response. A muffled “come in” came from the room and you entered. It was clean enough, slightly disorganized to the average onlooker. Paper scattered here or there. Otherwise it was tidy. The mare behind the desk looked relieved to see her favorite worker.
“Good morning Anonymous, hope you're ready for today because I only have one job for you. There is a heavy rainstorm scheduled for today and the river will most likely flood. Seeing as to not damage the surrounding area I have a team already there setting up sandbags on the banks. All I need you to do is help out. I'm sure with your size and strength it won't take much time at all.”
One had to appreciate the 'strait to the business approach.' Not many bosses had to common courtesy to do that, guess you got lucky. Then there was the storm, Blitz was actually gonna have to work a full day today. Meaning that he is gonna be really ready for tonight! Awesome! That is gonna be a good time. First things first, knock out this sand bag job, get some munchies, then it's time to party.
“Oh yeah Mayor, I'll get that set up in no time flat.”
“Glad to hear Anonymous. I'll see you on Monday then.”
“Yup, see ya Mayor.”
After exiting town hall you head strait for the river. Finding earth ponies and a few unicorns building up the banks already. A few large carts loaded to the brim with sandbags were along the river at regular intervals. Looked like they got a fair sized portion done so far. On your approach a pony walks up to you. From his walk it would be a safe bet that he was calling the shots. Some douches get to lead a team then just act like everyone owes them something.
“You must be Anonymous, I'm Land Mass head of the team. We have some carts by the river so get to work and start building up the banks.”
Land Mass was a large brown earth pony stallion, with black shaggy hair, and a... continent? As a cutie mark. Looked like he busted boulders for shits and giggles. Even if that were the case he was still only a pony.
“No problem but hey it looks like you're pretty good at this type of stuff. So how about we have ourselves a little race? First one to lay down a quarter mile of these things gets to go home the other has to stay here and lead the team.”
The words didn't seem to get through to the stallion as much as your cocky smile did. Here was a guy he's never even met before calling him out on his special talent and trying to take his leadership role. That got him going.
“Alright fine but when I win you are gonna finish one side of this river by yourself.”
“Thats cool, cuz you're not going to beat me.”
You shook his hoof to seal the deal and with that he ran off to the closest cart and started to lay down bags. The stallion had to be delusional, thinking a simple head start like that would make a difference. Running to the other side of the river there was only one thing in your mind. Gotta beat Blitz to the bar.
Walking down a road on the outskirts of town you hummed quietly to yourself. The Tipsy Owl wasn't too much farther and Rainbow wouldn't make it for at least another hour or so. A smile graced your features, you sure as hell beat him and now Blitz would have to play catch up when he got there. It would be great, a little comment about getting on your level would have him doing double shots to catch up.
Always a good time seeing a friend getting really trashed really quick. That wasn't really his fault though ponies have a low tolerance. Most of their drinks reflect that as well. Cider was one of the more potent things here and the liquor wasn't much better.
There was one drink here that did seem better than any of the stuff back on earth. It was real moonshine and it used some weird process where the still could only produce it during a full moon. Stuff was supposed to soak up some of the magic or something like that. Made about as much sense as anything else here.
Moonshine here felt kinda weird to drink, it was so cold it burned, all the way down your throat and into your stomach. Really refreshing afterwards though and man did it fuck your day up. Most places didn't carry it but this place did, that was the main reason for the Tipsy Owl being you and Blitzes chill spot.
The only thing that sucked about it was how freakin expensive the shit was. A shot was triple price of this worlds whiskey. Didn't matter all that much though since you had coins to spare. Blitz, on the other hand, had more of a... fruity taste in drinks. Gods you hated how that sounded but it was true. Everything he drank was really colorful and not too potent. Not that it mattered, two different approaches for the same result. As long as you weren't the only one getting plastered it was all that mattered.
When you saw the bar creeping around a corner you picked up the pace. After making it inside it was time to see how busy the place would be tonight. Looking around there was only a stray pony here or there. Good, doesn't look like it's gonna pick up anytime soon. Approaching the bar the pony behind it recognizes you immediately.
“Hey there Anon. Want the usual to start off with?”
“Sure, sounds good.”
As she turned to pour the shots there was that usual sway in her hips. She probably did it on purpose, trying to get you to notice. Wouldn't work though, not that she didn't look good. There was the slender form that went well with the cream coat and the brown mane done in a pixie cut which looked pretty good. The simple fact was she was a she, not really your style.
“Here you go hon, two shots of moonshine. I'll keep the bottle out for ya.” She winked and went on to cleaning behind the bar. Knocking one back and taking the other to a booth in the back corner you couldn't help but smile.
“She totally wants the D.” It was only a whisper but by the color of her cheeks she may have heard that one. Woops.
Relaxing into the well worn in seats of the booth you let out a sigh of relief. It was always nice to come here and let the stress of the day melt away. In this calm atmosphere it was easy to exist, like nothing else mattered while you were here, like a little slice of paradise.
“Hi Anon, how are you doing?”
Well damn, that was short lived. Looking at who budged in on your mojo it was just Carmella.
“Not bad, how about yourself?”
“Oh me? I'm good. Here I brought these for you. Mind if I sit down?”
She slid two shots of moonshine onto the table and sat down. Not that you minded, it's not like she made a statement and didn't ask or anything. The free shine did mean an automatic yes, but that was beside the point. Since she was here now that meant you had to talk with her and two more shots would make that hell of a lot less painful.
Taking a deep breath and slowly letting it out you grab a shot in each hand and knock them back one after another. Slamming the glasses down you started to feel better.
Carmella seemed to enjoy the display and was clapping her hooves together.
“Thanks for those Carmella, so what brings you here?”
“Oh I was just walking around and saw you come in here and thought; a nice cold drink sounds good right now. Then I remembered all you drink is moonshine so I brought some over for you.” She took a small sip of her cider and gave you the best innocent expression she could muster. It was bull, she was most likely following you for awhile and just waited outside coming up with that excuse. Weird. Actually now that you think about it drinking those shots probably wasn't a good call. Hopefully Rainbow got here before anything bad happened. The last place you wanted to be was tied to this creepy mares bed. Maybe that was an exaggeration, shit like that didn't really happen in this world but you never know. There always had to be a first.
“Hello? Equestria to Anon, anypony in there?”
“Hmh? Sorry spaced out there, did you ask something?” She looked none too pleased right about now. Maybe you should have paid attention to the crazy pony who gave you alcohol.
