Thousands of years ago, humanity, pony kind, and the restored COG were driven into cryogenic sleep following the emerges of a new threat: The Swarm. In 12017 A.E/2017 A.S, previously unknown ancient ruins are discovered by mammal archeologists, 7.5 miles (12 km) outside of Zootopia, and are discovered to belong to ancient but extinct species, or so they thought.
