It was a dark and stormy November night in Ponyville. Everypony was in their homes snuggled up tightly in their beds, fast asleep. Yes, everypony, except for one.

At the school house, there was a teacher by the name of Cherry Blossom, who was grading her student's papers. This mare had a purple-pinkish pelt, with a large light pink, pink, and purple mane, all tied together, with her cutie mark being pink flowers. She looked at the clock It was 12 P.M. Then, she looked back at the piles of papers on her desk, and sighed.

"At this rate, I'll never get this finished", she says, "Not that it matters, considering I live here. I just need... some... sleep..."

She yawns, as she slowly falls to sleep. But then, there was a knock. The noise bounced Cherry up like a spring.

"Who's there", she asks, as she looks around the room.

After seeing that nopony was there, she tried to go back to sleep, thinking it was just her imagination. But then, there was another knock. She sprung up again. The young mare noticed the noise was coming from outside. Somepony must've been knocking on the door. Confused, she got up and went to the door.

"Who could be up this late at night", she thought, as she opened the door.

She looked around to find nopony.

"H-hello", she asked, "I-is anypony t-there?"

Nopony answered.

"Maybe it 'was' all in my head", she thought.

She was about to close the door, and go back inside, until...

"D-down h-here"

Cherry looked down to see a small unicorn . He had a green Pelt, with a blue and orange Mane. He looked to be only five. She was shocked.

"Hi", she said to him, "W-what are you doing out here so late? You should be home with your parents."

Tears then formed in the colt's eyes. Then, with one look of those tears, Cherry knew immediately what was wrong.

"Oh, what happened to them?", Cherry asked.

"I-I don't remember", the colt said, crying now, "All I remember was that when I knew about it, I ran away and never went back."

Cherry didn't know what to do. If she let him keep wandering in the cold, he'd freeze to death. If she took him to the police, they would make him even more scared then he already is. If she took him to the orphanage, they'd treat him like dirt. So, she did the only thing she could. She hugged the little colt tightly around her front legs.

"Don't worry", she said, "Everything is going to be okay. Now, why don't you come live with me, okay?"

The little colt stopped crying.

"Okay", he said.

So they went inside. Cherry gave him some hot cocoa, and pulled out her old futon, and her softest, warmest blanket. Then, with the sip of his drink, the little unicorn fell fast asleep.

"How am I going to explain this to Cheerilee?", she thought, "Oh, that doesn't matter right now.Wait, what was I doing again? Oh yeah, grading papers."

She walked over to her desk, as she slipped on a pencil. She landed flat, face first on the carpet floor, knocking down a school flyer.

"I thought I cleaned up everything", she thought.

As she got up, she noticed the flyer she knocked down.

"Who is your favorite hero?"

"Hero", she thought, "I like it. That could be his name."

She looked back at the little colt.

"Yeah", she though, "Little Hero."
