THE CHAOS HAS BEEN DOUBLED!

A NEW WORLD, A NEW WAY!

~2~

"So, Twilight?" A cyan-coloured pegasus piped up, trotting up to her friend, "What's this important thing you needed to tell all of us about? I'm kinda in the middle of reading the new Daring Do book!" After that sentence, Pinkie Pie dashed up to her friend's face, her nose pressing up against hers,

"Ooh! You mean the one with you, Daring Do and your new coltfriend Quibble Pants?" She grinned disturbingly, and Rainbow pushed her out the way with her hoof.

"For the last time, Pinkie, he's NOT my coltfriend!"

Pinkie tilted her head idly and put a hoof to her chin as she continued to walk backwards to keep up with the rest of her friends, "Oh, you're right! You already have one: Soarin, right?" She sang, bouncing a few feet away from Dash and inadvertently saving her from her wrath.

Rainbow still blushed however, "He's... uh, not my coltfriend either!" The rainbow-maned pegasus huffed and faced away from everyone in embarrassment.

Rarity noticed her friend's distress and glared at the party pony, "Pinkie, it's not nice to tease." The fashionista advised, "You should apologize."

But Pinkie merely looked at her quizzically, "Whaat? But I actually meant-" She glanced towards the scowling pegasus, "Omigosh! I'm so, so sorry Dashie! Don't worry, my mouth is zipped!" She exclaims as a zip magically implants itself over Pinkie's mouth, adding confusion to both Rarity and Rainbow but they dismissed it as Pinkie just being Pinkie.

Twilight suddenly snapped out of contemplation right then and there and turned to her friends, a sheepish smile on her face, "S-Sorry everypony. I was too busy assessing the situation that I actually forgot to tell you what it's about."

Applejack shook it off with a beam, "Aw shucks, sugarcube. No need ta' feel sorry 'bout that. How about ya' tell us now? I'm sure all of us are itching to know."

Twilight nodded and cleared her throat, "Well, to put it simply, there's a creature as dangerous as Discord in the Everfree Forest, and Princess Celestia has sent us to investigate. It's also the reason why Discord is here with us."

Instantly, everypony tensed up a bit. Nearly everypony's faces seemed to be a mixture of concern and worry. But unlike any other, Pinkie jumped into the air and pumped her hoof up. Everyone looked at her strangely, "What? You mean I'm the only one excited for double the chocolate rain, candy and strange-but-funny shenanigans? Aw pooey!" She sat upright on her rump with her forelegs crossed.

Fluttershy noticed something however, "But I thought only draconequus' could use chaos magic? Is it another one maybe?" Everyone except Discord and Twilight contemplated on this for a second before Discord decided to break the short silence,

"Well, I have two corrections for you, dear Fluttershy. Not only I can use chaos magic; there's one among us that obviously uses it, and as far as I know, I am the last of my kind. Well, maybe." Discord sighed as he floated in the air lazily with his back towards the ground, "One can dream, however! If it were so, then Twilight dear, you could kiss your orderly schedules goodbye!" He chuckled as he kissed the tip of his lion paws which floated away.

"Wow, dude." Spike turned on Twilight's back to face him, "Last of your kind? Must be depressing and all, knowing you're the only one like yourself in a world as big as Equestria!" said Spike, extending his arms away from each other in emphasis.

Discord nodded idly and sighed once more, "Oh, don't worry about that! Friends are a fine substitute for family. Rather be with the cool kids than familial oddballs like myself. I suppose I take back what I said earlier; if somepony's going to generate laughter in the most peculiar ways, it's going to be me!"

Pinkie piped up in protest, "Hey, that's my job!" She whined, and Discord grinned at her, snapping his fingers so that her zip could reappear on her mouth. She pouted in response.

Everyone shared laughter for a moment, even Pinkie despite her zipped mouth which poofed away as she did so. The group stood at the entrance to the Everfree Forest. Fluttershy tensed for a moment, but Rarity put a hoof to her shoulder in reassurance.

Twilight looked back with a smile, "Alright girls, let's go in! I know with complete certainty that we can take on anything in there, but don't look in the eyes of the Cockatrice if you see one!"

Discord huffed, "Oh I've got a bone to pick with creatures that turn others to stone. Do they not know how annoying that is? I couldn't even scratch my left cheeck, or tell others to stop climbing on me and taking pictures! I am positively indignant about that!" He said as he snapped and turned himself to stone in his second position but leaving his mouth out instead, "I mean, this pose you girls left me in made me the laughing stock of garden ornaments!" The draconequus' whined as the stone crumbled off of him.

Fluttershy put a hoof to his dragon leg in empathy, "Don't be annoyed, Discord. You've learnt from your past mistakes, so I know it won't happen again." She assured gently, but Discord still had a slight scowl.

"Elements of Thousand-Year Naptimes more like..." He muttered to himself, leading the way into the nefarious forest. "Just follow my lead and I promise you all will be exempt from any danger this forest throws at us."

The Mane Six smiled at him and followed him as ordered.

Siren sighed dreamily as she drunk on her chocolate beverage, "This tastes great! Never even heard of chocolate back then." Zecora smiled as she cleaned up some snack remains on her table. The draconequus gave her a toothy grin, "Thanks for the hospitality, I guess."

Zecora shook her head dismissively, "It wouldn't be humane of me to just leave you there, it's only natural that I spare some of my care." She assures as she resumes cooking up her brew. Siren felt the need to inquire on this,

"What's with the pot of goop? Are you an enchantress?" She queried, and Zecora gave a warm laugh. It certainly wasn't the first time someone made that assumption,

"I practice no type of voodoo, I assure you." said Zecora who then returned to her brew.

Siren chuckled in response, standing full height now, "Ah, well. I best get going now. There's a whole world out there, and I'm itching to spread some chaos." She stated lazily, starting to walk out. Zecora stopped her however as she had a concerning query.

"Chaos? Please refrain and do explain." She rhymed, and Siren rolled her eyes. Shouldn't it be common knowledge that she would want to do chaotic things?

'Unless this other draconequus is a stupid suck-up to ponies, I don't think this zebra should be surprised.' She thought with a grunt, "Did I stutter? I said I'm going to spread some chaos. I mean, what did you expect?"

"You can spread chaos, but the harmless kind. This is an era of tranquility, I should remind. Hurting others is not what you should do, and as for your chaos, mind giving me a preview?"

Siren groaned, "Gladly." She simply uttered as she snapped her paws, tying Zecora from her hoof to her neck and hanging her upside down right above her brew. Zecora was about to protest, but the draconequus snapped some ductape onto her mouth, silencing her for good. "You know, I hate being questioned. I also hate the way you rhyme with your words. Now, I'll see myself out. Try and find a way off and in one piece yourself." She insulted as Zecora continued to muffle through the tape.

With a single snap, Siren was outside. "Jeez, I hope that taugh-" She was cut off by ferocious growls emanating from behind the trees, the darkness masking the sources and all that was seen were eerie green eyes that glared at Siren. She sighed, their stupidity for their attempt to assault her laughable.

"Timberwolves, hm? I haven't seen you in thousands of years, so let's see if you got some new tricks up your sleeves." Siren taunted as the timberwolves' bodies suddenly came to light, snarling at the draconequus. A sadistic smile was present on her face as the timberwolves lunged at her, though to a being like her their efforts were unfairly futile. With each attempt at attack, the wooden wolves met their own demise, and their wooden coats dismembering one by one.

Soon, there was a huge cluster of planks stacked together, and Siren sighed once more. "Seems I've still got it." She muttered as she dusted off her hands, "No more distractions, finally..."

Now that she was left with her own thoughts, she decided to start contemplation on what may be new in this world, and what to probably expect. For instance, she wondered who ruled the lands of Equestria nowadays? Was it still Queen Galaxia and her husband, King Cosmos? The possibility was there, but it was quite unlikely considering that since their two heiresses would probably be of adulthood as of right now, and reign would've been passed on to them. The draconequus was also quite surprised that none of the alicorn have come to hunt her, considering their excellent sensory abilities.

Abruptly, a deep, disembodied voice resonated through the area she was in, and since this probably meant more troublesome affairs, Siren grunted once more, "I apologize, dearie, but it seems we may have to trouble you with just one more distraction..."

"Really?" She simply uttered, a scowl which fully describes her irritation plastered onto her face, "Well, why don't you show yourself before I lose interest and teleport away? Or maybe I should just come to you..." Though before she could do so, the voice immediately returned.

"You're not a fun one, are you? Well then-"

Promptly, a hyperactive voice piped up, cutting the mysterious voice off, "I AM!" It exclaimed, making the earlier voice gasp, and 5 new ones shout simultaneously:

"PINKIE!"

The party pony nervously chuckled, "S-Sorry!" The bushes rustled for a moment.

The first voice groaned, a slap sound heard indicating a facepalm, "Well, thanks to one audacious little equine, I believe there's no point hiding it now. Step out of hiding everyone." Reluctantly, everyone one-by-one started to walk out from their rather obvious hiding spots with idle expressions, (though Pinkie retained her guilty expresson.) inspecting the new draconequus in awe. She was like Discord, but in many ways none. The ponies were expecting Discord with a feminine face and lighter coat, and while she held resemblance with him, she wasn't quite like him.

Though despite her dislike for the ponies, Siren was fixated on the tall, jumble of animals before her. She backtracked to what Zecora said about a draconequus named Discord, and not only that, she could sense by his magic that he was also the Spirit of Chaos, the newest one. At first, she wanted to affront him for being too soft and friendly to their sworn enemy, but decided to keep her mouth shut for the moment. Siren could also see that Discord was also just as surprised to see her as she was to him, which was quite odd, but she remembered that he was the only draconequus around for thousands of years. Realizing this, she instantly started to sympathize with him, kind of able to relate herself though not much considering she was asleepp for the time he spent alone.

Siren had so many questions ranging from what he did with his time spent alone, or how was he able to get all friendly with the ponies. She would ask them, yes, but for now, her natural reaction was to give him a warm hug. She didn't know why she actually did this since she hated being touched and hugging, and she wasn't exactly a caring person either, though strangely enough she did not have regrets doing so.

"You must've been so lonely, big guy."

Well, this was certainly not what he was expecting. With Discord being a being of great power, he was always so used to looking down on others and being manipulative, pulling strings and such as if the world was his puppet. No one could say no to him, and nothing except for the Elements themselves could directly oppose him. He was free to change his playground as he saw fit, and everypony would just have to deal with it. Though now that someone with the same power as he has entered the mix, he simply didn't know how to react.

Pinkie Pie whispered to her friends in response to the rather intimate moment between the two draconequi, "I think they're having a moment...!" The mare uttered rather obviously.

Discord didn't return the hug however, simply standing there and scratching his cheek, "Well, uh..." He blushed, slithering out of her grasp. Rainbow Dash took it as her chance to start laughing at the two, very much amused at the nervous Discord.

"Discord shy? Never thought I would see the day!" She giggled until Applejack gave her a slight nudge beckoning for her to stop. The pegasus coughed, "Uhh, sorry."

Discord circled around Siren with genuine surprise, admiring her every feature. With the being in front of him, it became glaringly apparent that Discord longed for someone like him, even if he did not know that himself. Though long ago, there were instances where Discord had attempted to emulate other draconequi like creating clones of himself with differing personalities, but it wasn't the same. Or, in better use of words, couldn't be the same. He gulped as a feeling gripped his heart: Joy. His breathing intensified; he was so happy that he bounced around the area of forestry they were in, the foliage, critters and such chaotically adjusted to match his emotions. This resulted in a mess of pure chaos, and everyone else could only stare at him dumbfounded.

"Oh, yes yes yes! You don't even know how long I've been waiting for this! ...Heck, even I didn't know how long I've been waiting for this! You're a straight up miracle, you know that? The embodiment of a good surprise I say!" He giggled giddily, "I've never been so joyful since my glorious heyday! Suck it, manipulative puppeteering and whopee cushions, you don't even come close to this!"

"I'm flattered... I think." Siren scratched her ear, a bit weirded out now. A reaction like this was probably to be expected, but it surely did not mean she was prepared.

"Ah, yes well..." He started to get all sheepish now that his joy burst was coming to an end, "As soon as we're done with the interrogation, we're sure to have much fun. So, what will it be for starters? Generic pranks? Cryptic life-lessons about friendship and the like? Dogs to eat little filly's homeworks? I mean, you are a newbie, aren't you? I suggest we start with the lame, unstimulating basics before we arrive at the more dazzling, harder stuffs." He advised.

"No I don't," She protested, "Wouldn't it be more fun and chaotic to start at the more advanced-level stuff anyway?" Discord thought about this for a second, but decided to press more on his own recommendation anyway,

"I suppose so, but I say it would be fun anyway! For you at least. Besides, all this stuff I'm going to teach you is new to you, since you evidently haven't been awake to witness a new era of jokes and gags. Oh, and-" He paused for a minute, realizing something grand, "Oh my... Pinkie, come on over!"

She happily obliged and hopped on over, and Discord slung an arm around her shoulder, whispering something into her ear. Her eyes, in response, glistened and she started to chuckle.

"Alright, uhh, what's your name?" He grinned quite disturbingly, and she responded simply,

"Siren."

"Okay, okay, Siren..." He started, trying to keep his giggles contained, "Why did the skeleton leave the party?" Discord asked, and though curious, she remained silent. Discord took this as his cue, "Because he had no body to dance with!"

The edge of Siren's lip started to creep up in response, and visibly failed trying to hide it. Pinkie turned back to her confused friends and whispered, "It's new to her...!"

It was Pinkie's turn, "Why was six afraid of seven?" She snickered.

"I-I... uhh..."

"Because seven-eight-nine!" She roared in laughter, and though not on the same scale as Pinkie, Siren started to giggle herself. Rarity looked quizzical, tilting her head at Siren who was giggling herself,

"I struggle to see how that is even remotely funny! Literally, what a crude joke!" Rarity had to raise her voice a bit amidst the laughter. Discord shushed her however, prompting a growl from her.

"What do you call an alligator in a vest?" Pinkie started once more, her hiccups affecting her words a little. But before Siren could say anything, she revealed the punchline: "An investigator!" She screamed as she resumed her laughter. Siren was genuinely laughing now, and Discord wanted to test if the most generic joke ever would work on her,

"Alright, alright. I got a real killer!" He beamed, "Why did the chicken cross the road?"

"W-Why?" The female draconequus asked, her voice faltering a little.

"To get to the other side!" As soon as he uttered that, Siren fell to the ground in laughter, struggling to contain her fit of giggles. The other five just stared at them in disbelief, still not being able to comprehend the situation in front of them.

The spirit of chaos wiped a tear off his eye, "Oh, those jokes... So gorgeously cliche, but luckily, I've found the perfect victim to gobble up all my leftover gags and whatnot, knowing she'll laugh at all of them. Literally better than what I expected!" He chuckled.

Pinkie Pie sprang up in agreement, nodding her head frantically, "Me too!"

Siren, who now regained her composure with a blush, just glared at Pinkie and grasped Discord's wrist, "C'mon. We have a lot to talk about." The female draconequus tried to pull him away from the girls, but his wrist simply detached from the rest of his arm, prompting her to fall over a little. She growled, "What's your problem?"

He rolled his eyes, "Simmer down, will you? I'm well aware that I'm one of the more dashing draconequi, but I fail to see why you should go all obsessive." He stated as a matter-of-factly, earning a pout from Siren. He started to move in the air in a slithering fashion around the female, "And besides, I have just as much queries as you do, and I'm hoping you can be a dear and let me ask them first."

She crossed her arms and flicked some of her hair, "Fine, fine. Make it quick though!" Siren advised, tapping her foot impatiently. Discord coughed, ready to start the little Q&A, but it seemed Twilight went and beat him to the punch knowing that his 'queries' would be fairly unimportant and a general waste of time.

"Um, miss? My name is Twilight Sparkle, and-"

Siren groaned, "I don't care. And I'm not talking to you either." She turned away from the lavender pony, and onto her fellow draconequus, her eagle hand motioning for him to continue. Discord just blinked however, realizing that on second thought, it'd probably be for the best that they speak first.

But once again, he was prevented from talking at all when Rainbow Dash suddenly flew right in front of Siren's face. His eyes boggled at that, knowing there would be very bad consequences, "Hey! I don't like how you're talking to my friend that way! She did nothing to deserve your rudeness, and she's a princess! Give her some respect!" Dash exclaimed, causing Siren to snap her fingers and a dummy appeared on her mouth. Pinkie put a hoof around her mouth to cover her giggles.

"I don't need to listen to your princess. I'm an entirely different species you moron!" She barked at her in reply. Applejack and Rarity started to walk forwards to defend both of their friends, but Rainbow stopped them with one hoof.

"Even so, I'm not going to sit by while you ignore her like that. She has a lot of important questions to ask and I suggest you let her speak!"

Siren snarled at her, but before she could do something dangerous, Discord appeared right in front of her in a flash, "Dear, I quite frankly agree with the pegasus. I suppose with my humble heart I shall allow her to go through with any inquiry she may have." Siren looked unconvinced, and Discord rolled his eyes. "Wouldn't you want to play with your food before eating it? I certainly would. Honestly, you're inadvertently proving that our race are full of boringly cliche numbskulls that are capable of surviving an hour on Celestia's court." He crossed his arms, eyeing her accusingly.

At wits end, all she could say was: "No I'm not..." She replied in a less hostile-tone. A grin crept up the sides of his mouth,

"Oh, yes you are!"

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you-"

Twilight cut them both off, "Okay, before an unnecessary string of words ensue, I believe we should get out of this forest first." The unicorn prompted, and Discord silently nodded with a smile while Siren pouted. The only way she would follow them was if Discord was doing likewise, and since he was, she had an obligation to. Siren remembered something however,

"Oh fine... Do you have a zebra friend inside that hut though?" She asked and they all nodded.

Applejack tilted her head, "Yeah, why?" Siren quickly shook her head,

"It's... nothing, whatever." The draconequus responded idly, and when their looks turned rather suspicious, she immediately tried to assure them that nothing was wrong, "She just helped me to some tea, that's all. Now can you stop giving me that look? It's making me even more unwilling!" She snapped, and they decided to shrug it off (except Rainbow, who was still giving her the eye.).

With a sigh, Twilight turned to Discord. "Could you do the honors, Discord?" He nodded,

"Certainly!" He obliged, though right before teleportation, a faint splash could be heard, indicating that Zecora broke free of her binds courtesy of Siren herself. Before she could warn them however, they were already gone.

Zecora huffed, "How rude. Compared to Discord, she is rather crude..." The zebra mused as she walked back into her hut, dripping with her pot's 'goop', as Siren described it.
