Adventures in Equestria: A My Little Pony Fanfiction

The story begins in the magical land of Equestria, Ponyville to be exact. In Twilight Sparkle’s castle, Twilight Sparkle is reading a book in her library.

Then, Spike arrives in the library with a package, and he puts it on her table.

“Princess Celestia sent me this package for you” he said.

“Thanks Spike” Twilight responded.

Twilight opens the package, and she’s surprised to see what was inside.

“There’s a note inside.”

She levitated the note and read it.

My Dearest Twilight,

I found this artifact deep in the underground of Canterlot. I don’t know what it is, but I was hoping that you could find out what it is, seeing as how you have a knowledge of artifacts. I wish you the best of luck.

Princess Celestia

Twilight looks inside the box and finds various silver pieces.

“It looks like various pieces or something” she said to herself “I wonder what it means?”

Twilight levitated two of the pieces, and then she puts them together like a puzzle.

“They fit! It must be some kind of ancient puzzle!”

Twilight levitated another piece to put it one one of the two attached pieces, but it didn’t fit on either of them.

“What!?”

Twilight was stumped.

“Maybe I was lucky the first time.”

…

“This might take longer than I thought”

Two Weeks Later

Twilight is still fiddling with the puzzle, and it’s almost complete. It now resembles a silver sphere with blue jewels all over it.

As she hears the sound of doors opening, Twilight looks up. It was Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, and Spike arriving with concerned looks.

Rainbow Dash was the first to speak.

“Twilight, Spike told us what you’ve been doing, and we’re pretty concerned.”

Then Rarity said “You’ve been in this castle for two weeks, and you haven’t even come out since then.”

Twilight responded “that’s because I’ve been busy solving this ancient puzzle Princess Celestia sent me.”

She looked back at the puzzle and gasped.

“I just have one more piece left!”

She levitated the last piece: a large circle-shaped piece with an emblem of Star Swirl the Bearded on it. She slowly put the last piece in place on the sphere.

Nothing happened (so far).

Twilight put the puzzle down, got up, and walked towards her friends.

“Well, that’s that. You know, you’re right, I haven’t gotten out of my-”

She saw that her friends looked behind her in shock as a certain cyan glow appeared from behind HER.

“What?”

She turned around, and she looked just as shocked as they were. The jewels on the sphere puzzle glowed as the sphere vibrated. Then it started to levitate up in the air and slowly levitated away from the desk and past the Mane 6.

“C’mon!” Twilight said “We’ve gotta follow that puzzle!”

The Mane 6, and Spike, then followed the puzzle.

They followed the puzzle all the way into the Everfree Forest. But then the sphere slowly descended to the ground in the middle of nowhere.

“Am I missing something?” Twilight asked herself out loud. “There’s nothing here.”

The ground started to shake, and then it collapsed beneath Twilight and company, and they fell into the underground.

There was a cyan glow inside the caverns underground. Twilight and her friends got up, and they looked shocked as they saw the source of the cyan glow:

There was a giant glowing cyan orb, and inside it was a silhouette of a unicorn stallion, wearing a similar outfit to Star Swirl the Bearded, except he didn’t have a beard.

They walked towards it and stared in awe.

“Is that pony inside …. Alright?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“I don’t know what, or who, that is” Twilight explained. “But it looks like it’s wearing an outfit just like Star Swirl the Bearded, so I’m gonna find out!”

“Wait, Twilight!” Spike shouted. “We don’t know what that thing is!”

Twilight closed her eyes and used her magic. After a few seconds, she stopped, and she opened her eyes and looked up at the stallion.

…

The stallion opened up a pair of glowing white eyes.

“I think he’s alive!” Spike shouted.

“Well duh” Rainbow reminded Spike.

The ground started to shake again. As it shook harder and harder, the sphere disintegrated into cyan smoke, and the stallion slowly descended to the ground, and he layed on the ground, unconscious. Twilight and her friends ran towards the stallion.

Then the smoke cleared, and the stallion was revealed to have a yellow coat, and a scrappy orange mane and tail with a white stripe in the middle of each. But he’s wearing the exact same outfit as Star Swirl the Bearded.

“Well, he’s no Star Swirl the Bearded” Twilight said “But he wears a similar outfit.”

Pinkie Pie poked him.

“Pinkie!” Twilight shouted.

“Do you think he’s … dead?” Rainbow asked.

“Don’t say that, Dashie” Pinkie scolded “that’s too depressing.”

Then they heard a groan from the stallion.

“I think he’s alright” Pinkie said. “He’s just not awake.”

“Maybe he’s hurt! Or sick!” Twilight shouted. “Let’s take him to my castle, maybe I can help him!”

Later

The stallion is now in Twilight’s bed, only he’s not wearing his cape and hat.

He slowly opened his eyes, revealing his green eye pupils, and saw Twilight next to him on his left.

He began to speak “ugh … where … am … I?”

“You’re in my bedroom. You were unconscious, so I gave you hospitality here in my castle.”

The stallion got up out of the bed, and his cutie mark is revealed: It’s a dark grey swirl with four five-pointed lighter-grey stars around them.

“You’re … castle?”

“Yes, this is my-”

Twilight stopped as she looked shocked to see the stallion’s cutie mark.

“You’re … cutie mark!”

“What’s a cutie mark?”

“It’s the emblem on your flank. Every-pony has one once they’ve realized their destiny.”

The stallion looked at his cutie mark.

“Anyway” Twilight continued, “I’ve noticed that not only do you wear similar clothing as Star Swirl the Bearded, but you also have his exact same cutie mark!”

...

“Who’s Star Swirl the Bearded.”

Twilight gasped.

“You’ve never heard of Star Swirl the Bearded!? He’s the most famous wizard in Equestria!”

“What’s Equestria?”

…

“Wait a second, either you come from somewhere beyond Equestria, or maybe you have what I think you have. Tell me, do you remember what your name is, or where you came from?”

The stallion paused. He looked around, thinking.

Then he said “no, not really. Who am I?”

“It’s just what I was afraid of. What about those saddlebags?”

“What saddlebags?”

Twilight pointed at a pair of saddlebags on a wooden stool.

“Those saddlebags that were hidden under your cape. Try looking inside them, maybe that might refresh your memory.”

So the stallion trotted over to the saddlebags and opened them up to find some papers. He levitates the papers and looks at them for a few seconds, then he puts them back and said:

“I’m sorry, but I don’t remember any of these.”

Twilight’s friends came in, including Spike.

“Hey Twilight” Rainbow Dash said, “how’s the new guy doing?”

Twilight looked at the stallion with a concerned look. Then she looked back at her friends.

“I’m sorry, but it’s just what I feared. This stallion is suffering from a case of amnesia.”

“Amne-what?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Amnesia. It’s a condition where you can’t remember your past before you got it, that also means that he can’t remember who he is or where he came from.”

…

“Well, until this stallion remembers who he is, he’ll need a home, so I’ll let him stay here in the castle.”

“Um, shouldn’t we give this guy a name?” Pinkie Pie asked, “because we can’t just keep calling him ‘this stallion’.”

“Hmm, you’re right.”

Rainbow Dash thought for a moment.

“Hmm, his mane looks like a blaze of fire, so it has to have ‘Blaze’ in the name.”

“Rainbow!” Twilight shouted. “Don’t be ridiculous!”

“Now hear me out. I see that his cutie mark has a few stars on it, and his mane looks as if it was set ablaze So how about we call him … Stardust Blaze.”

The stallion said “Star … dust … Blaze?”

…

He smiled and said “I … like that name.”

Twilight told Rainbow “I was going to call him ‘Lucky Stars’, but ‘Stardust Blaze’ does have a better ring to it.”

“Stardust Blaze it is, then” Rainbow said.

“I think it’s a fabulous name” Rarity explained.

“Now that we’ve given you a name, we have to find a way to restore your memory” Twilight explained to Stardust. “Stardust, do you mind if we saw those papers that were in your saddlebags?”

“Go ahead, but I don’t see the point.”

Twilight trotted towards the stool, levitated the papers on the saddlebags, and read them. She then put them down.

“Oh … my … gosh. These are some of Star Swirl the Bearded’s spells! Some of them I didn’t even know existed, but they still have Star Swirl’s hoof-writing on them.”

“I don’t really understand what’s going on.”

“This must mean that you somehow knew Star Swirl the Bearded, which means it’s gonna be reeeaally hard to get your memory back.”

“Well, we can worry about getting his memory back later” Rainbow Dash told Twilight. “For now, let’s try to get him to fit in our society.”

Later

Stardust Blaze was walking in Ponyville with Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie.

Rainbow told Stardust “this place is called Ponyville, and it’s part of a bigger place called Equestria. The first lesson is that you have to try to greet others. Go ahead, try saying hi to some-pony.”

“Okay” Stardust responded.

Stardust walked towards Carrot Top.

*Ahem*

“Hiiiii?”

“Um … Hi?” Carrot Top responded.

…

“Ooookaaaaay, I’ll just be on my way now.“

Carrot Top turned around and walked away.

“What was that!?” Rainbow Dash asked Stardust “That wasn’t greeting!”

“I don’t know what greeting is. Amnesia, remember?”

“Yeah, yeah, I know, I know. Let me show you-”

“If you want to greet someone, all you have to do is give out a big smile!” Pinkie explained.

“A … smile?” Stardust asked.

“Like this”.

Pinkie Pie then gave a big smile to Stardust.

“Oh, I see what you’re saying!”

Lyra and Bon Bon are walking together, when all of the sudden, Stardust Blaze jumped in front of them and gave out a big creepy smile, making Lyra and Bon Bon run away, screaming. Stardust now looks confused. Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash walk towards Stardust.

“Maybe that was a bit too much” Pinkie said.

“Ya think?” Rainbow asked.

“I don’t understand. I followed your advice.”

“Actually, you took it a bit too literally.” Rainbow responded to Stardust.
