Chapter 1View OnlineShards of the fourth wallChapter 1DISCLAIMER! I DO NOT OWN MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC It was a bright and beautiful day in Ponyville. The residents of the small rural town could nearly forget the fact that there was a giant crack in Sugarcube corner. The bakery, for some reason, had big white lines running across it. Nothing was broken, except the fact that, well, the cracks. Suddenly, the cracks widened, doubled, and imploded, making a large BOOM that could be heard around all of Ponyville. The Cakes and Pinkie ran out just in time to see Sugarcube Corner collapse into a pile of rubble. But the cracks were still there. Pinkie Pie had been baking some muffins for Derpy, when she exclaimed, “Oh boy! Pinkie, you’ll not believe what happened!” The hot pink earth pony giggled and jumped up and down, shouting, "WowIlikestoriesonetimeIaccidentallybakedthebadswithApplejackand-" She was stopped when Derpy put a hoof to her mouth. "Pinkie. Please have none of your antics. You don't want the Cakes mad because the ovens exploded again, do you? Wait- Applejack baked those bads? I thought you were having a bad day!" "Well, I did become sick after eating one. I don't know how Spike enjoyed it!" Pinkie responded with her usual vigor. Then she stood still expectantly. However, her subconscious subconsciously thought Wait... What if it is a particularly boring tale? I wouldn't find it boring but the readers might... hmm.... “Hey, Derpy?” She asked cautiously, inclining her neck and peering at the roof of the bakery, looking at something that wasn’t there, her eyes glimmering with inquisitiveness. “Yeah?” Derpy replied. She got out a few bits and placed them on the counter as the fuchsia pony brought the muffins to her. They looked mouthwatering, and they smelled like fresh blueberries on a summers day. “Would you mind saying it off-screen? I don’t want to get the viewers bored or anything not that your tale is boring or anything in fact it might be the greatest tale in all of time by the way those are my very special blueberry muffins they are baked with lots of love and care.” The pink earth pony giggled. Some of the ponies waiting in line groaned and yelled "Get on with it!" Pinkie frowned at them. "Don't be such meanies! The readers won't like it!" Derpy gaped at Pinkie, her lazy eye rolling the other direction. “Er... Okay? Whatever that was...”. She began to tell her tale which, due to circumstances beyond our control, will not be mentioned in this fic. Suddenly, interrupting the epic story, there was a sound like ripping paper. Derpy looked around confused. “Huh?” She mumbled to herself. She turned to Pinkie, but she shook her head. "I do not know!!" She slightly shrieked. Derpy had never seen the fuchsia pony so upset before. When she opened her mouth to speak, the same noise sounded. Pinkie Pie gulped and motioned for Derpy to carry on the story. Shrugging, she complied and resumed her tale. The sound came again as Pinkie glanced nervously at the ceiling. Her mane seemed rather greyish, and her baby blue eyes lost most of their colour, now appearing a dull grey-black. Her ears were laying flat against her head as she wiped sweat off her brow. It was clear she was not listening to the ditzy mare's story. Now, Derpy was annoyed. Other ponies interrupted her all the time, but she rarely got mad about it. This time she did as Pinkie wasn’t even paying attention, sneaking looks at the roof, which still looked the same. “PINKIE!” She shouted. “Are you even listening?” Pinkie blinked a couple of times. “Right, yeah! Weren’t you up to the sea ponies?” She tapped her hooves impatiently against the counter, sweating bullets. “No. That was five minutes ago! I was up to the part where Discord was doing the hoopla... You don’t even care, do you?” She asked flatly. Pinkie looked up in surprise. Don't care? She always cared... unless it wasn't funny. But this was funny! “I DO care! I’m just checking on the fourth wall...” She trailed off as she realised her mistake. Bright white cracks appeared in the air, with more sounds of ripping paper. Derpy, horrified and befuddled, grabbed her muffins and galloped out of the shop. The ponies lining up screamed and ran out. The cracks reached the door, where it soon disappeared, along with the counter and the two bits Derpy had left. Pinkie backed away slowly, not taking her eyes off the anomaly which was soon to consume all of Ponyville. And it was all her fault. Pinkie Pie had made the largest error in the system of Equestria since Starswirl the Bearded thought he could move the planet closer to the sun because he couldn't pay his heating bills. The fuchsia pony stared at the impending doom and whispered, “Oh Horseapples.” "Where's Pinkie?" Mr. Cake asked. Mrs. Cake looked round confused, still galloping to Pound and Pumpkin Cake's room. When she entered, she saw Pumpkin and Pound looking confusedly at the strange thing widening above them. "Pumpkin, Pound!" She cried with delight. At least they weren't harmed. Sugarcube corner was making ominous creaking noises and bending slightly. Mrs. Cake grabbed her foals and ran out of the room. She was out of the front door when she realised something. "Pinkie's not here!" Mr. Cake turned back to the shop, where they could now hear Pinkie's cries. He cantered back in, looking round frantically. "Pinkie!" He cried. "Pinkie! Where are you?" "Here!" A faint voice cried. Ducking under a glowing crack, Mr. Cake darted over to where the non-existent counter was. He found a pink mare cowering behind it, her mane now deflated to a gray-ish pink colour. Lifting her onto his back, he sprinted out of the shop as fast as his hooves could carry him. After lowering Pinkie gently to the ground, a groaning sound came from Sugarcube corner. Everypony turned around to see the white cracks implode, and the Cake's and Pinkie's home collapse into a heap. But the cracks were still there.

She was up to the part when Starswirl had ran from the Ursa Major's cave when a scroll appeared in a small green flame. Smiling to herself, she wondered, "What did Twilight learn this week? I only wish I had friends like hers. My only true friend is my sister." She would've like Twilight to be her friend to, but the lilac pony only recognised her as her mentor. Of course, other ponies tried to befriend her, but only to get a high place in court, or to use her for her power. With a small smile on her face, she levitated the scroll slowly over to her and began to read. "Dear Princess Celestia...". As she got further down, her grin turned into a deep frown. Strange white cracks appearing over Ponyville? Pinkie Pie flustered and wailing that "It was all her fault"? Sugarcube Corner imploding? Just what was going on here? She had never heard that the vinaceous party pony could be so distressed. And those white cracks... It couldn't be... that legend... "Sister?" She called. Princess Luna immediately teleported next to her, looking sleepy. Celestia suddenly remembered that it was the middle of the day, and Princess Luna slept in the day. "YES SISTER?" She asked. Celestia winced and shot a quick look at her sister, who was giggling nervously at her mistake by using canterlock. After Nightmare Moon had been banished, she'd dropped the talk and named it jokingly "Canterlock". For some reason, someponies would just yell across to someone, then say, "Oops! I guess I left Canterlock on!" "Can you take over the royal duties?" The white alicorn asked. "There's a bit of a problem I need to sort out. In Ponyville. It's very complicated." Luna raised a eyebrow. "Doth it include a certain pink pony? I remember her antics when I went for Nightmare Night." Celestia shuddered at the mention of the event, then nodded her wearily. She could handle normal supernatural occurrences, but when they included Pinkamena Diane Pie she had no idea what do do. "So you will?" "I suppose, if there is a problem only you can sort. The Night Court shall be in order until you come back, Tia!" The midnight alicorn stated, using her sister's nickname. "Thank you Loony," Celestia replied, giving Luna her best troll face. Standing up with her head tall, she strode out of the throne room, leaving a very annoyed-looking Princess of the Night standing there, shaking her head with worry. Twilight Sparkle was sitting there, dumbstruck at the sight in front of her. The glowing cracks had appeared seemingly from nowhere, and a quivering Pinkie Pie had raced out of Sugarcube corner with the Cakes just before it imploded. There had been no reason why it imploded, but the only one who knew what happened was standing there, whispering, "I gotta fix it, I gotta fix it, I gotta fix it...". Even Derpy Hooves and shied away from any questions. She stated to her friend, Doctor Whooves, that she didn't even know why any of that happened. And the rest of the witnesses had locked themselves away in their houses, wearing the same suits as they did when Apple Bloom had gotten the Cutie Pox. "Twilight?" A voice called. Turning round, Twilight could see it was Spike. He was holding a piece of Parchment in his hands. "It's from Princess Luna. She says Celestia is coming ASAP." Applejack and the other members of the mane six came trotting up to where Twilight and Spike were. "Twilight? Ah think ya need to get a grip on yerself. It's the only way we can pull through this," she stated bluntly, fixing Twilight a stare which she couldn't look shy from. The other ponies nodded in agreement. "You're right," she replied, grabbing one of Applejack's hooves, which had been outstretched for Twilight, and standing up. Maybe Princess Celestia can fix it." Fluttershy peeked up at the sky, whimpered inaudibly and whispered in a voice below hearing. "Uh... Twilight? The Princess is here." "What was that, Darling?" Rarity asked. "I think she says, I have arrived." A regal voice called out. Twilight turned round in attention to see a ethereal-maned winged unicorn approaching them. She had a warm smile at her lips, but she could see the fiery determination in her magenta eyes. "Twilight Sparkle, my most faithful student. It a pleasure seeing you again, even when the circumstances are not so good. I must inquire; do you know anything about this anomaly?" Head hung low, she replied, "No, Princess. It appeared when Sugarcube corner imploded." The Princess did a double take. "Sugarcube corner imploded? This is not good... Do you have any witnesses?" "No. Well, yes, but Pinkie here is sprouting gibberish and Derpy won't cooperate. It's been frustrating." Celestia frowned and peered at Pinkie's face. It had turned a grayish-pink colour, and her mane had become droopy. "I gotta fix it, I gotta fix it, I gotta fix it...." She kept on mumbling. The princess' eyes widened, and she put her horn against Pinkie's head, allowing her to see what happened from Pinkie's perspective. As the scene before her unfolded, the princess couldn't help but let out a gasp. Did Pinkie really do that? What was that about Discord doing the hoopla- Wait a second Sea ponies exist?! She shook her thoughts away and focused back on the matter at hand. "Girls," she said regally, her head held high, though her voice cracked a bit. "I think a little explanation is in order." She swept her head round to Pinkie, who was know sobbing uncontrollably. "It is time you see what true events transpired, and what could happen if this misfortune continues. But," She added. "What also is happening in the other world." "Princess, what are you-" Twilight asked, before she was interrupted by a bang. The cracks widened again, and some more ponies screamed. As Celestia's horn glowed a brilliant golden, the mane 6, Spike, Derpy and Doctor Whooves (who looked very confused as they suddenly became drowsy in the middle of the market square) whited out, their heads lolling about their limp forms. The remaining citizens of Ponyville looked on fearfully at the anomaly which was eating away at their town.

Hope you'd want to know! "Fan-friggin'-tastic," I mumbled, checking my watch. It read 4:42. I was meant to finish my shift at 4:00, but Kathryn took off way to early and left me to deal with the customers. That normally wouldn't be a problem, but the shop was full of people trying to get our new stock of body lotion. I mean, come on! It's not as if it's going to run out after one day. Really! It's a friggin' body-healthcare shop, for Pete's sake! Wait til' tomorrow instead of all pouring in today! "Way to go, Anne Banks," I said as I banged into a lamp post. I thought that only happened in movies, anyway. Why do comical things always happen to me? I'm like the Twilight Sparkle of Earth. I like to study, but things (which seem funny to other people) always seem to interrupt me when I try to think. Speaking of Twilight, I thought of the latest episode of My little pony: Friendship is Magic. The Mane 6 owned those Changelings! Though I couldn't help yet seem sorry for them. They were only trying to feed. But what they did to everypony (giggle- "everypony") morally wrong. And trapping Princess Celestia in that cocoon thingy. What would've happened if the Changelings had won? Was that cocoon thingy a contraption for turning ponies into Changelings? And what was Doctor Whooves doing with Carrot Top and Dinky? As I approached my house, I took out my keys and opened the door, to be met with a very strange sight. There were 9 things on the carpet, and glowing white cracks everywhere. I said what first came to my mind. "What the fuck?" Soon, the things( which turned out to be. dun dun dun, ponies!) slowly woke up. "Uh," moaned a rainbow maned one. "Where in Equestria are we?" With a gasp, I realised something. These were ponies from MLP FIM! I squeed in fangirl delight.] "Ohmygosh! I can't believe it's you!" I hopped up and down in excitement, until I saw one of them had wings and a horn. My eyes widened and I said," Sorry your Highness, I didn't realise it was you." The alicorn opened her eyes and gave a little smile. "It's okay, dear. I'm just showing my little ponies what is happening. They've already gone through what has happened." I nodded slowly, not understanding a word of it. Did she mean the glowing white cracks? And what had happened which she showed them? And why were they in my house, out of all the houses in the world? "Princess Celestia," I started quietly. "Excuse my crudeness, but what the hell's going on here? What's with the cracks? And why are you here?" The princess sighed, and glanced other the other ponies, who were shaking their heads. Twilight was staring at me intently, which I found a bit unnerving. To my surprise, Derpy and the Doctor were there too. Derpy was rubbing her eyes, one of them rolling about the place. I had to stifle my laughter as the Doctor looked euphoric to be here. What was their part in this? And- PINKIE? WHAT THE- What happened to her mane? She- she couldn't have been turned into Pinkamena, could she? "Dear- Sorry dear, what is your name?" "It's- It's Anne Banks, at your service ma'am." I responded with a bow. "Well, Anne, I am aware that you are a- how do I put it- a brony? So you must know all about Miss. Pie's antics." I nodded vigorously. "But why is her mane flat? It's normally all poofy!" "Miss. Pie has created a- a breach in what you call "The Fourth Wall". These cracks are a result of so much battering on it. Even though it can be fixed, Miss. Pie accidentally pushed it to far, but this resulting in her mane deflating. Miss. Hooves here was present at the time, and The Doctor has many encounters with this kind of thing. The others wanted to come along, as they couldn't bear to see why Miss. Pie was so overwrought. I hope you don't mind us dropping in, do you?" "No, Your Highness. This is the best day ever! I mean, this day is delightfully wonderful."ac As I said that, my eyes drifted to Fluttershy, who was trembling behind Applejack. "Come on now Sugarcube," the orange farm-pony was saying. "Ah'm sure she ain't harmful. Just say 'Hello.'" AJ caught me watching her and winked. I grinned, but averted my attention to the Princess, who started to talk again. "I am showing them what is happening in the human world. If we don't stop the cracks, both our world will be consumed!" I frowned. "So why don't you just use your magic? Or zap it with the E.O.H?" "The E.O.H?" "Elements of Harmony." "That's just it. The cracks can't be stopped by the elements of harmony or my powers!" Celestia exclaimed. "I can only hold them back for a few days!" "Then what are you going to do?" I asked. Twilight trotted forward and answered," Apparently we need to find the Elements of Harmony!" O.k, now she had me really confused. "But- Don't you already have them?" "Yes. But I'n not talking about our Elements of harmony. I'm talking about Elements of Harmony for Discord!" "Don't you mean 'Elements of Discord'?" "That's what I said." I rolled my eyes, and the other eight all face-hoofed at the same time. "Hey," I asked. "How'd you do that in synchronization like that?" "Trade secret," Rainbow winked. Twilight glared at the others, and exclaimed,"That's what I meant, anyway. The Elements of Harmony for Discord would be the Elements of Discord. We need to find them! But first, Princess Celestia needs to show us what will happen if we fail." I thought for a few moments, then asked,"Hey, can I join? I've always wanted to go on an epic adventure with ponies!" They all stared at me, then conferred among themselves, except for the Doctor who (hah, I made a funny) trotted towards me. "I wonder why I'm not in human form again," he pondered. "I mean, we're on Earth. So why am I still a pony?" "Hey Doctor. Have you worked out the connection between London and magical ponies yet?"( Doctor Whooves and assistant FTW) He grinned at me. "Not yet, but I'm pretty close. Have you worked it out?" I shook my head. "Hey, do you travel with Derpy?" "Yes. In our most current adventure, we saved Equestria from Cyber-ponies." I stifled a giggle. "Cyber-ponies? It seems like everything in Equestria is a bad pun." "I know, right?" He giggled along with me. "Miss. Banks!" A regal voice called. We looked back and saw the others waiting. "We have decided." "Yes...?" I asked hopefully. "If you wish too, you can come with us on our quest." "YES!" I yelled. Then I looked around. Everypony was staring at me. "Oops?" Rarity shook her head. "Well, let's get going then." "Right!" I said. "Onwards and upwards! ALLONS-Y! "Hey!" Doctor Whooves exclaimed indignantly. "That's my line!"

Authors note: Some of the chapters will be switching between 1st and 3rd person. Everyday was a day of misery and boredom. When the Elements of Harmony sealed him to stone, Princess Celestia thought it would seem like yesterday to him. But no, he had to live each boring day imprisoned in a lump of rock! All the little ponies went by, attending to business, whilst Discord was made to wait insufferably long til he had enough power regained to break out. Suddenly, he felt a disturbance in the force. Really? He thought. Star wars references are no good unless someone hears you make them. But there was something wrong with Equestria. He could feel it in his mismatched bones. Something big and powerful which might change the fate of all Equestria. Enough power to help him break free. He cackled mentally, and started to formulate his plan. Derpy Hooves did not look happy. Everything had gone wrong in one day. She'd just went to Sugarcube corner to get some muffins, but then was whisked away on a magical adventure to save Equestria. Not that she didn't do that with the Doctor. Speaking of the Doctor, she glanced over to see him and Anne deep in conversation. Anne was the strangest thing she'd ever seen. She was bipedal, like a Diamond Dog, but had no fur except from her mane. The mane was short and ginger, with brown strips going through it. Her skin was milk-white, dotted with pale orange freckles. She was roughly 5ft 10, which was high for pony standards. Even Princess Celestia, tallest of them all, was about 4 feet. Anne's eyes were muddy green, and quite small compared to pony eyes. Derpy couldn't see what the Doctor saw in her. Wait, was she jealous? Why? Derpy had never been jealous of anything in her life. Was it to do with the Doctor? He was quite important to her, but why was his being with the "Human" make her green with envy? Still wondering about the answers to those questions, she trotted slowly over to where they were chatting. "Hey, guys. Princess Celestia should be pulling us out of the warp hole any minute now," Twilight called from the back. Anne looked up and saw Derpy moving towards them. She motioned for her to join them with a small smile. "Hi, Derpy," She said amiably. "How the hell are ya?" Derpy raised one eyebrow as she heard the rude word, but none-the-less answered, "Fine. How might you two be?" Anne grinned broadly at her attempt to be sociable. "Do you normally talk like that?" "No. I just thought because you are a stranger to our land, I should treat you with repute." At that, the Doctor decided to jump in. " I think what my colleague is trying to say is that they always welcome newcomers kindly and respectfully." Derpy shot him a look. "That is what I meant, Doctor. I am quite sure our guest here would understand my confabulations," she continued. Anne's eyes widened. "You have a big vocabulary, Miss. Hooves." Derpy smiled a bittersweet smile and asked, "So, pardon me for asking, what events are you two discussing about?" "Well, Miss Hooves," Anne responded, "We are conferring about our current predicament and how it might disturb the peaceful activity of your homeland." HAH! Two can play that game! Doctor Whooves just sighed with obvious dread. A vocabulary talk-off between those two was sure to end in disaster. Just then, a regal voice yelled, "WE HAVE ARRIVED!" As the wormhole unceremoniously dumped them on the ground, the group stood up and looked around. They appeared to be standing on a large wasteland. There was nopony to be seen for miles around. The sky was white, but there were no clouds. "Is-Is this Equestria? Or Earth?" Anne asked hesitantly. "It is, technically, both, " Princess Celestia answered. All the ponies looked around, confused, except for one brown stallion who just looked alarmed. "If the cracks consume Earth and Equestria, they'll merge together. But magic and technology isn't meant to mix. If so, it creates barren wastelands. This is why I banned all technological items, except from old-fashioned things such as the video player. It will wipe out all life, forcing the two dimensions into eachover, destroying anything and everything." Everypony gasped, their eyes taking in the true nature of the wasteland. Dead ponies and humans lay dead on they floor, some missing body parts and some which had exploded. "But Princess Celestia," Applejack began. "If we're in this barren wasteland, why ain't we dead? If what ya said was right, shouldn't there be no air here?" Celestia nodded her head. "I have created a little bubble around us, providing us with oxygen. However, I will not be able to keep it up for more than a few minutes, so we must return to the present." With that, her horn flashed a brilliant golden colour and they were sucked back into the wormhole. "Hey, AJ?" Came a tentative voice from the corner. Applejack turned round to see it was Pinkie. Her mane was still deflated and she still had the greyish colour about her coat. "Yeah, Pinkie?" "What happens if we... if we fail?" Pinkie sniffed. AJ walked over to comfort her. "Listen up sugarcube. We won't fail. We'll find the "Elements o' Discord. We'll straighten out Equestria and Earth. Ah promise." "Pinkie promise?" "Cross my heart and hope to fly, stick a cupcake in my eye," AJ recited. She mimed the actions too, remembering to close her eye before sticking her hoof in it. "For if I lie to Pinkie Pie, I'd better kiss my flank goodbye," another voice came. AJ and Pinkie turned their heads to see Anne smiling at them. They grinned back, and Pinkie's mane had half-turned poofy again. Anne walked over and asked, "So I heard your parties are rock on!" Pinkie Pie gasped loudly, then began in detail of the types of parties she did. AJ sighed. "This here's gone be a loooong day."
Chapter 5View OnlineShards of the fourth wallChapter 5Disclaimer! I do not own the my little pony franchise! CHAPTER 5 The time Pinkie had finally finished explaining in excruciating detail about the parties they held, we'd come out pf the wormhole. I had an really annoying question buzzing about my head which I needed to ask the princess desperately, but I held my tongue until she'd finally released us. Suddenly, I realised something. I looked... stranger. I raised my hands to see that they'd been elongated. Quickly turning my head, I looked in a shop window. There was me, except I was taller and slimmer. My rounded ears had took on a more pointy state. Looking through my glasses, the world was fuzzy. I took them off, to find that I could see properly. Huh. I thought. Guess I can't be a human in a world full of mythical creatures. What am I, an elf or something? Looking round, none of the ponies noticed the change. "Princess Celestia?" I asked, then covered my mouth. Wow! Even my voice sounded different! More melodious, somehow. She turned her head at me. "Yes?" Deciding not to ask about my new (and improved) body, I said,"You've told us that we need the Elements of Discord, but who's going to wield them? And why do we need them?" Everypony turned around, their ears perked up. Twilight looked very interested in what the princess was going to say, Derpy's eye rolled around, and even the Doctor seemed intrigued. "Well," Celestia started. "According to legend, there was a riddle. It went 'The Discord elements can only be found, by the people who want them safe and sound. Harmony and Chaos must vanquish a mighty foe, but amidst the battle the Elements will flow. Two seventh elements will appear, and destroy ponykind's greatest fear.' However, many wise ponies have not been able to work out what this means. I afraid not even I have the slightest clue what will happen apart from that when all the elements are connected, a seventh element of harmony and discord will appear." I thought hard about this. I used to be good at riddles. I could solve a Professor Layton game in 3 hours (which is actually pretty quick) and could solve a lot of puzzles my friends gave me. So the wielders of the Elements of Discord must work with the mane 6 to repair the fourth wall. But the riddle said, Harmony and Chaos must vanquish a mighty foe. But the broke fourth wall wasn't A mighty foe. So what was it? "Well, we've got to get to the Elements of Discord. But can't you just magic it over?" I asked. Celestia shook her head. "There is a strong magic aura protecting the Elements. And we can't teleport you over because of the aura." "Things are never easy, are they?" Twilight sighed. The others shook their heads. They all looked so dejected and blue. I suddenly remembered something. "Hey! Where's Spike, Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle and Scootaloo?" I cried. Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow all looked at eachover in surprise. Fluttershy's eyes grew wide and she squeaked, "Oh no!" Applejack rushed back to the farm, Rarity to her boutique, Rainbow flew around town and Twilight galloped to the library. I decided to follow her, jogging lightly. Man, were these ponies small! They were, like, three feet, and not all that fast. Still, they were excellent climbers. That mountain they were climbing in Dragonshy? Skyrim level! Anyways, so we reached the library. Spike was on the stairs, staring at the door and when Twilight galloped in he yelled her name loudly and clasped onto her. "TWILIGHT! I'm so glad you're okay! After Princess Celestia came I tried to find something about those glowing white cracks. I couldn't find anything, I'm sorry, but when I looked up you'd all gone, and then I couldn't find you, and then, and then..." He broke off sobbing. Twilight smile wanly, her magic drying his face. "It's okay Spike. I'm going to need you to fend for yourself a while, though. By the way, this is my new friend Anne Banks." Spike looked up at me. I smiled warmly and said, "Hiya, Spike. I'm Anne. How are you holding up?" "I'm okay now. But what did you mean, "Fend for yourself for a while"? Are you going somewhere?" He asked, confusion written across his tiny face. "Well," Twilight started, "Me and the girls-" "The girls and I," I corrected. She glared at me and continued. "Anyway, the girls and I, and Anne are going to find the Elements of Discord to help balance out Equestria." "Wait a sec," I said. "What about Derpy and the Doctor? Aren't they coming?" "No. They can't: The magic aura stops the Doctor from going there, and Derpy has a daughter to look after. She volunteered to stay back with the Doctor." "Oh. Well that makes sense." I saluted at Spike and marched out the door. Rainbow, Rarity and Applejack were there, each talking to their own little sisters (apart from Rainbow Dash, but their like sisters) and explaining the situation at hand. When the three little fillies saw me, Sweetie Belle hid behind Rarity, Apple Bloom grinned and said in an southern accent, "Well howdy there miss!" And Scootaloo just nodded her head to me. "Come on Sweetie," Rarity sighed, pulling her sister out from behind her. "She's not going to bite." Sweetie stared up at me with wide eyes, and I grinned, showing my teeth. Everypony winced as they saw them, and I facepalmed. Of course they were gonna be afraid of my teeth, I have freaking Canines! "What are those teeth for?" Scootaloo asked. I looked to my left nervously to see Twilight coming out of the library. "Good now everypony's here now let's go!" I screeched. The older ponies stifled a giggle as they young fillies stared up at me questioningly. "But you didn't-" "They're not important right now. I'll tell you after the adventure's over!" I beamed. I silently prayed to Celestia that I'd be sent straight home after the adventure was finished. I was not ready to tell the equivalent of eight year-olds the fact that over 7 billion people in my world ate meat. Pinkie Pie pulled Fluttershy out from behind a building that she was cowering behind. Really, though? She works with animals. Some of the animals she cared for eat meat, so why was she afraid of me? She just looked so adorable though, I wanted to hug her. But I brought my mind back to the task at hand. "Right. Where's the Princess?" I asked Twilight. "Most of her power lies in Canterlot, so she headed there to tap into some energy reserves to delay the End." And the way she said end just made me think Capitalised. But the end in not nigh! "Well, it's nice to see you're all raring to go!" A voice called. For some reason he reminded me of Q from Star Trek. I slowly turned around, wondering who could be behind me. To come face to face with a very familiar Draconequus. We all stood there in shock as Discord fell about laughing. I had no idea what he was laughing about, for the situation seemed very grim. "How did you escape?" Yelled Twilight. Discord stopped to wipe a tear from his eye and answered in a helping voice-which-makes-you-think-it's-not-going-to-be-helpful-at-all, "I have my ways, dear ponies." Rainbow Dash recovered, shouting, "Why are you here?" She made a threatening stance, knocking two hooves together which somehow made a hit-someones-head noise. I didn't think it was very scary, but the other ponies all winced. "Well, my little ponies (and human), I simply came to watch you all try to find the Elements of Me. Not that you'll succeed, anyways!" He replied cheerfully. "But, Discord," I asked. "Why are you against us? If we fail, everypony will die, including you!" Discord leered at me. "My dear Anne, I won't die. Neither will Celestia or Luna. We are immortal, after all. Even though you all will die, we be still alive." For some reason a song came into my head. "Whatever," Twilight said, shaking her mane out of her face. "We don't have time for this." She tightened the straps on her saddlebags and motioned off into the distance. "We've got to find the Elements of Discord." We all nodded in agreement. I held out the map I had conveniently found and stared at it. The mane 6 looked at me and I sighed, "Fine. Here you go, Twilight." Discord had been watching this with amusement. I found it tiring how one Draconequus could be such a dick. "Anyways. Onwards and upwards, ALLONS-Y!" I cried. Discord rolled an eye at me and stood up straight, saying, "Well, I'd best be off. Chaos doesn't wreak itself you know!" With a snap of his lion claws he was away. We all looked at eachover, then shrugged. Rarity opened her saddle-bag and pulled on a familiar looking pink and white scarf. "What?" She said indignantly. "I don't want to get cold! And this is very fashionable." I facepalmed. So we were off! Rainbow Dash and AJ kept up an athletic talk. They were talking about an Iron-pony competition. I wasn't good with sports, so I stayed away from their conversing. Sure, RD was my fave pony, but she talks about sport like it's her heroin. Not that it is a drug, but to her it seems like it. And to Applejack, she kicks ass! Bucking those trees LIKE A BAWS! I saw Fluttershy quietly talking to Rarity. I heard a few word like, "Great style", "A bit scary", "We'll be okay darling" and other stuff like that. I thought Fluttershy was still scared of me. She kept on stealing a few frightened glances at me, but even when I smiled kindly she still whimpered. "So, Anne," said Twilight. I jumped with a start. I hadn't realised she was next to me. "Do you have magic in your world?" "Oh, no. But we have all types of technology. For example, you know carts?" "Of course. But what about them?" "Well, my kind have created a cart which does not need anyone to pull them. They run on oil." Twilight gasped loudly, her face betraying any interested emotions at that moment. "Oil? But that's worthless!" "When it's crude it is. But we distillate it into two different types of oil: Diesel and Petrol. Different types of cars use different types of distillated oil. My car runs on diesel. Since diesel is rarer, it is more expensive. But it runs better than cars on petrol. But we also use oil to keep the different parts of the car running so they don't grate off on eachover." Twilight, by then, had pulled out a purple notebook with a lilac star and had begun to make notes in it with a white quill. I wanted to ask her if she had that specially made, but kept on talking about cars. I'd nearly finished talking about Lamborghinis when Pinkie Pie said excitedly,"Twilight? Are we lost?" Twilight stopped, then looked up from her book, eyes wide. The other girls looked expectantly at her. She looked like she'd been caged, then glared at me. "Anne!" She yelled. "If you hadn't been distracting me, we wouldn't be lost!" I held up my hands. "Woah, wait? This is my fault? You're the one who wanted to know about cars!" I argued indignantly. The others all scowled at me. "HEY! I wasn't the one- UGH!" I stormed off into some undergrowth. I didn't hear Fluttershy say quietly, "Anne! Wait!" I was engrossed in my own anger. I would've stayed lost if I hadn't looked up to see five sets of glowing yellow eyes peering out of the bush. I stumbled back as five massive diamond dogs jumped out. "Well, what have we here?" A large grey one asked, walking slowly towards me. "Food, perhaps?" I stood my ground, waiting for the inevitable end, as the Diamond dogs leapt at me, their claws outstretched and their teeth sharp. Suddenly, a brown and grey blur shot past me and hit them. They all yelled and tactically retreated (ran away) growling curses as they went. I ran over to where my saviour was. It was a Pegasus, who casually flicked her mane out of her face. "Nice to see ya," she said. "I'm Do. Daring Do.
