District 12: The Reaping
Previous ChapterNext ChapterFluttershy slowly walked down from where she had been feeding her birds. One of the little bird chirped at her to ask her where she was going. "I am so sorry sweetie but, I have to go yo the reaping to find out who is this years tributes." Fluttershy answered absentmindedly.
The bird chirped again to tell her it understood. "Ok, I'll see you soon." Fluttershy answered tha bird as she started toward the markets. Then when she got a seat she could relax listen to a speach, and listen to the names called out. As she walked on, Fluttershy got this feeling that she was going to be picked. "Don't be silly." She told herself.
"I have a 1 in a 1000000 chance of getting picked. I am only 16." She muttered to herself.
"Whoa!" She stumbled into a yellow Pegasus.
"Hey, are you ok?" He asked and unlike a couple of colts who were mean to her, she could tell from the look in his eyes that he was actually caring for her.then she realised that he was the bakers son, butterscotch. "Oh, I am sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." She said shyly. "That is fine. I was on my way to the reaping. Care to join me?" He asked, sweeping a hoof out in front of her.
"Oh. If that's ok with you of course." Fluttershy answered in a soft tone.
"Come on." He waved at her and the pair started walking along.
When they got to the market, the stage had been decorated slightly with some old ribbons and that was it. The mayor of the coal district, district 12, had already drawn out the slips and had finished the speach and was about to call the names out.
"Could Fluttershy and Butterscotch please come to the stage?" He asked gruffly.
The pair gasped in shock as then began to walk forward. As Gluttershy walked up she began to black out from the shock. By the time they got to the stage, she blacked out completely.
When she came to, she was at home, in bed. Butterscotch was there with her little sister, scootaloo. "Shhhh. Go back to sleep. Tommorow is another day." Fluttershy fell back to sleep, the butterfly's and birds, filling her dreams.
