The Search for Ruby pt.2

Upon entering the forest Celestia split them up into teams. One team were the two guards the other was Celestia and Lyra. Celestia thought it would be best to stay with the light green pony, since she was not a trained royal guard or a alicorn princess. As they trudged through they kept their eyes on the trees and the path hoping to catch a glance of Ruby Pinch.

" Ruby! Ruby! Ruby Pinch! " called the princess.

" Pinchy ! Pinchy! Come out now its me Lyra ! bellowed Miss Heartstrings. " ...if you do me and Bon-Bon will play Princess Ruby with you! "

Lyra turned around bashfully and looked at alicorn right behind her, who just smiled at the last comment.

" She likes pretend she is a Princess too, she has a toy set of a unicorn horn and wings. Then sometimes when she is really good Bon-Bon makes her some chocolate coconut bars and I play her some songs on my lyre. Ha! she pretends she is in a royal court while she eats and listens" Lyra reminisced. " She is such a good little happy filly , but when I see her ! Im gonna ...." Lyra stopped herself all that, if Ruby was near and heard her yell about playing " Princess" she would dart out immediately. Worry broke her high spirited personality her face broke and her breathing started to rapidly accelerate.

Sensing Lyra distress Princess Celestia put her pure white wing around Lyra.

" Don't worry my little pony, remember she might not be in earshot or in the Everfree forest. We got to keep hope in our hearts and carry on. Every second we take is a second closer to finding Miss Ruby Pinch"

Lyra looked up with a tear in her left eyeand smiled then quickly nuzzled Princess Celestia which only made her smile back.

The with a jump back Lyra exclaimed " Come on Princess ! Lets go bring Ruby Pinch home!"

The search went on till Luna raised her moon. Princess Celestia made sure to write a letter explain were she was at and why it was important that she stay out even later. Glancing at Lyra she could tell the mare was getting disheartened, mainly because she stop calling
for the missing filly about twenty minutes to go. BUt she still trudged on knowing anything could pop out at any moment and sadly they wouldn't find Ruby or worst. The thought made Celestia shudder which in turn made Lyra look at the Princess.

" Princess, are you okay?"

" I'm fine though I feel we are not covering much ground. The other are not doing so well in finding here ether or we would have seen blue flare light up the sky indicating the found her in good shape"

Lyra's eye grew wide and then she sat on her hind legs and had her front hooves in front of her shaking.

" .....And if she is not found okay?" the green mare asked while trembling the words.

" The a red flare would.." the white alicorn sighed with putting her head down.

Lyra jumped at the reply. " Well then okay we need too split up cover more ground and like FAST ?" she loudly stammered with a shout.

Celestia looked upon the worried mare with stern eyes. Even though she was right they would cover more ground but she could not bring herself to send a regular unicorn out in the forest with out proper protection. Then the thought of a poor pink little filly scared and alone hit her. She sighed again and though to herself " Well one of the reason she is with me searching was because she had knowledge of the Everfree Forest."

" Alright but if you run into any trouble send up a red flare with your horn" Celestia the paused ".... you do know how to do that ?"

" Uh yah I was in your school for gifted unicorn" Lyra replied back with a coy smirk and a raise of her hoof.

Princess Celestia smiled " Alright then you search the east and I will search the west."

" Gotcha!" Lyra acknowledge with a quirk of her head and then went on her way to better the search for Ruby Pinch.

Celestia then turned and went the other way. After going about a few feet she then turned her head to were Lyra was before.

" I hope everything will be alright."

Lyra Heartstrings trudged through the dark dank woods. Her and Celestia began the search with just rounding the edge's of the forest but as the day progress they had went deeper, when they separated though they had gone farther than mile in. The curious
mare in the past went deeper into the woods but not at night.

" Pinchy ..... Come out dear." Lyra whispered as to not attract the creatures that lurked within the Everfree Forest.

Sweat from worry and fear rolled down Lyra's muzzle. Images of Ruby Pinch ran through her head, her poor scared sobbing under
a branch or something. Just sitting there hoping to be helped. Tears rolled down her eyes, seeing as her and Bon-Bon were not cable of
having a child of there own, Ruby was like an adopted one to Lyra Or at most a niece seeing as much as she babysat her while her mom
was working at the punch bar. Even when her mom was not working Berry, Derpy, Dr. Whooves, and Golden Harvest would always do
something like go on a picnic or just have a get together at one their places. Most of all Berry would always bring Ruby and Derpy would
always bring Dinky, and Lyra would smile watching Derpy coddle Dinky and when Ruby would even get close enough to " Derp" and "
Dink's" cuddling session Derpy would snatch her up and do the same to her. Berry would just smirk happily "of course" and sip her wine. Berry Punch at the moment was indeed at the moment wallowing in grief and worry. She didn't look it especially with her known love of alcohol that Berry was indeed a very protective mother. Outside of work she only visited with her named friends because they were the only ones she really trusted to be around her daughter.

Shakily Lyra went on into the forest she was going to what appeared to be a pond in the middle of the forest. Lyra gazed upon the shore as she approached closer to the body of water. It was nice calm and serene the moon glazed the surface with a shine. Reaching the shore she took a breath and just took in the scenery, today has been a troublesome day and even though it was not over yet she need a "breath" from it all. Letting her head turn to the side to look upon it all, she saw what appeared to be a "bulge" ruffling the lake a little. Being curious she got closer to see what it was. She walked curiously to the object in the pond and when she was in front of it and on the shore she noticed she had to go some feet into the water. Lyra turned her head down and put a hoof into the coast of the pond to see how cold it was. It did have a chill in it but it was not bad enough to hinder Lyra's curiosity, Lyra quickly trudged through the bit chilly water keeping her eyes on the object in the lake. She would have brushed it off as a log, a big piece of drift wood at first but as she got a few feet into the pond it appeared to have color to it. Looking back at the coast and seeing it was not far away and the water was only pass her hooves. Lyra decided there was no harm in seeing what this weird thing was in the water. She only had a couple feet to go so she non- knowingly went to were it was. At first look it appeared to be nothing just a bundle of leaves wrapped around something .....Lyra couldn't tell what it was. Then she stuck her nose closer. Her head went up in a jerk, her eyes seemed to want to bust out of her head, and her mouth trembled . What she seen put her in a petrified state of being a only tremble rocked her body. Then like a bomb a big burst erupted from her horn and shot right to the center of the night sky and exploded and light up the night as if it was daytime.

" CELESTIA!!!! CELESTIA!!!! CELESTIA!!!! CELESTIA!!! " Miss Heartstrings bellowed for right under her muzzle was the pink filly wrapped up in string of pond weeds that once was Ruby Pinch.

WOW even for me that was dramatic to write I hoped you enjoyed this chapter. Sorry about not having it posted sooner things in life have been dramatic too. Once again you see anything grammar wise please let me know this is one of the first stories I have posted public. And ...I could use a little bit of constructive critic in a appropriate manner. Give me some time readers for the next chapter being a clay figurine maker, writing short horror stories, and now looking for a job can be time consmeing but this story will be seen through till the end and it never leaves my mind ether just Ill have it up asap Plz like it u like and dislike it u like
