Chapter XI. Seen Through The Evil

Spike stood in Scootaloo's room for over two hours staring at the bed where she once laid. Ponies have come and gone trying to get Spike to either talk or eat, but each time it failed and Spike would stay where he is not even look up at who was talking. You tried talking to him, Applebloom tired, even his kids tried but nothing would work.

You sat in the kitchen of the house You and Shindig have been using. Everypony else were in the room all sat in silence as well thinking of ways to get Spike to Talk or at least move. The only ponies who weren't in the room was Ace and Crimson, to be honest you didn't blame him with the way you smacked him about yesterday. But at the time being everypony is waiting for Agile and Blazing Diamond to return hopefully with Spike. But to be honest your mind wasn't a hundred percent on Spikes problems as you sat staring at the pony double of your dead wife. Apart of you knew she wasn't the same mare, but that didn't stop you from think about grabbing the mare and kissing her passionately. But once you had thought that you felt guilty like you was cheating on Applebloom and your Pinkie Pie. Its not like you wanted to replace Pinkie with a new one, you just missed your wife so much it threw you off guard also you genuinely loved Applebloom and didn't want to hurt her so you kept your thoughts in your head.

You looked over at Shindig and she was also staring at Pinkie and you could tell she was going through similar thoughts of her own. You then look over to your Marefriend she was staring at Applejack you could only image what she was going through in her what with the death of her best friend now see Applejack alive again. so you decided to sit next to Applebloom letting her cuddle up to you while put a hoof around her comforting her, you thought that you would talk to Shindig later and make sure she was okay.

"Boy howdy, you sure do look a lot like my Little Sis." Applejack said hoping to get some conversation going.

"Can ya please not talk to me, its hard enough seeing ya as it is." Applebloom asks burying her face into your fur.

"Im sorry ah didn't mean to hurt ya. I just-." Applejack apologised

You kiss Applebloom on her head before talking cutting Applejack off. "Its okay Applejack, when you died it hurt her pretty bad. She was on her own for along time trying to look after her daughter and Applejack's daughter by her self. im Guessing Twilight told you some of this?" You ask hoping that you didn't have to go through the entire back story of your Marefriend.

"Most of it yeah." Applejack admitted.

Before you knew it your heart Broke As Pinkie's Double jump straight in your face. "But she didn't tell us about you! Hi im Pinkie Pie, who are you?"

You sat there frozen not knowing what to do, your mouth went dry as tried to fined the words to talk but before you could princess Twilight dragged Pinkie back. And Soon Agile and Blazing Diamond retuned bring the groups attention on them.

"So... how did it go?" Flurry heart asks sounding hopeful.

Both Agile and Blazing look down at the floor and shook their head's "We tried!" Diamond protested.

"But we couldn't get through to him." Agile added with a sigh heading straight into the fore hooves Apple Charm.

Everyone hang their heads low frowning. "If he's kids cant get through to him, who can?" Rainbow ask what everyone was thinking.

It was like a light bulb went off in your head. "Twilight... can." You say while finding your voice again.

"Me?!" Twilights double asks in surprise.

"No, I mean Princess Twilight. Think about it your one of the closest ponies he knows and you know how he feels right now." You explain hoping not to be called.

Princess Twilight sat their thinking your theory through until she came up with answer. "I guess it makes sense. ill try my best but cant guarantee it'll work.

Princess Twilight started to make her way out of the house towards the other house Spike is in. Princess Twilight found Spike in the same place as everypony else, he still hadn't moved from his place.

"Spike. Tell me what's going on through that head of yours?" Twilight ask in a calm yet caring tone. But still no response So Twilight "I know you think that this is your thought but there was nothing more you could of done, it was out of your control."

"That's just it..." Spike spoke for the time since he had found out about Scootaloo two hours and ten minutes ago. "There was.. nothing I could of done! I failed her." Spike still stared at the bed while tears steamed down his cheeks. Twilight remained silent while and just listed to her former assistant. "I failed her. And all that time I Spent trying to keep her alive it was for nothing. Yet im meant to go out there and lead a team of friends and family to stop an army that's spread far across Equestria from Vanhoover to Trotting Ham and every city that's In between. How am I supposed to keep you all lead you all into battle when I couldn't stop them from taking my Wife away..." As soon as Spike had said that last part a thought hit Spike like a ten ton piano.

"Your wrong Spike you didn't fail her. you gave her fighting chance to stay alive and See her family a little bit long. I know for a fact luna would wanted at least ten minutes more. but that's why-"

"She's alive!" Spike interrupted Twilight making her stop talking.

"What whose alive?" Twilight asks confused.

"Scootaloo, SHE'S ALIVE!" Spike ran out of the house right across to where everypony else's was waiting, with Twilight not far behind.

Spike burst through the door making everypony jump including your self. "I told you Twilight could do it." You boast.

"Spike what's Wrong?" Fluttershy asks worried.

"I need a map of Equestria!" Spike replied with a stern voice.

Without questioning Spike, Flurry Heart left bring back the map he needed and laid it flat across the dinning room table let Spike take a look. "How is she Alive?" Twilight asks for the first time letting her self calm down.

"Whose Alive?" Thorax asks confused

looked over the map while he talks. "Scootaloo's alive. I know because look at the evidence. There's no body. If they want to kill her they would of done so and left the body for me to find, so in that way they could get an emotional response out me making do something stupid. but they didn't they took her unharmed. And before you ask how do I know its in harmed. there's no blood or sign of struggle. Which means they know how ill she is and they didn't want to make her worse."

"But why?" Agile asks confused

"Cause they are going to use her as bait, to get us to do what they want. But we going to get ahead of them, I have a new plan." Spike smirks

"We're all ear's." Adagio says aloud wanting to hear the plan.

"Well we cant stay here since they'll know where are now. we'll have to make a move to day, im heading to the Dragon's Lair and im gonna call in a favour with the Dragon Lord." Spike pointed at the map, where the dragon island.

"Do you think you can do that?" Sunset asks sounding sceptical.

"Don't worry she owes me one and with the power of the dragon's by our Side their army's wont stand a chance." Spike answers confidently before explaining the rest of his plan. "But we'll have to take Equestria back each City separately that's why im forming three groups. One group will consist of the girls from canterlot high with Aria, Spike will be leading the group. The second group will be The Equestria Defenders with sonata, Thorax will lead that group . The Final Group Will be me, Anon, Applebloom, Princess Twilight, Nightfall And Adagio, and of course I will lead the group. And before you ask Nightfall, Ace will stay here and look after Crimson." Nightfall did thankful nod of the head.

"But When The Master Finds out what city you are in he's gonna go straight for you." Princess Twilight argued.

"Yeah and why would you have us Spilt up?" Adagio added.

Spike knew these Questions were going to appear. "First of all, The Master wont know where I am Cos Thorax will shape shift into me and Twilight you will cast and illusion spell on the Other Spike making him look like me. And it will causing confusion that will lead him into staying where he is waiting for the real me to arrive and he'll just send out the Tirek, King Sombra and all the others. And That is the Exact reason why they will be lead their respective groups it must look as if it is really me in each of the groups. As for your question Adagio, am I right in thinking your powers can help reverse mind control?"

"Yeah it does." Adagio admitted.

"Am I also correct in thinking that your powers work just as well together as they do apart?" Spike asks knowing that he's correct.

"Again, yes it does, what are you getting at?" Adagio asks starting to get impatient.

"With You Mares apart you'll be able to help so many more ponies who have been brain washed by king Sombra." Spike answers smiling.

"Alright then sound's like a plan, when do you want us to get our gem's?" Aria asks, its the first time she opened her mouth with out causing a fight.

"Now, Would be great." Spike smiled.

"We're on it, don't worry Spike we wont let you down." Sonata led her Friends out of the house.

"Does anypony else have any questions?" Spike ask not wanting any pony to be left unsure.

Rainbow instantly took point. "Yeah I do, how are we meant to kick anyone arse, when we're still learning to walk without falling over?"

"That's easy ill have anon train you while im gone. But I will train Spike personally when I get back." Spike thought it weird saying he Train Spike, it was if he was talking like Trixie.

Your eyes go wide at the mention of your name. "Wait! what! I cant do that."

"Of course you can Anon. You did it for the Equestrian defenders, you can do for the Canterlot High Mares ." Spike retorted not quite sure what Anon was getting at.

You roll your at how thick Spike was being. "Its not my ability to do it that im putting at question. Im... im not sure I could do it mentally."

And just like that Spike knew what Anon was getting at. "I get that this is going to be difficult for you." Spike put a claw on your shoulder, you were still sitting on the chair while Applebloom cuddled up to you "But im going to have to ask you to get over it and get on with it for my sake and Equestria's."

"Okay fine! But you owe me one." You huff clearly unhappy with what you had to do.

"If no pony has any more questions im going to head off to the Dragon's Lair now?" Spike asks one last time to be sure.

"Before you go, I have to ask when do we hand out elements? " Princess Twilight asks.

Spike face palmed he couldn't believe he'd forget one of the most important parts to the plan "We'll do it now. Girls!" Spike called over to his friends from canterlot high making the look around. "Come here, I have to show you something." They followed Spike over to a chest it was dark blue with a gold trim around the edges and different colour gems round the sides. "In here are the Elements of harmony they will help you as take back each city." Sunset watched as Elements were about to be handed out.

Spike picked up a pink gem in the shape of a butterfly he then levitated it over to Fluttershy with his magic "Fluttershy, you are embodiment of kindness you are always willing to help without asking for anything in return." Fluttershy began to glow as elevate with the gem while span in front of her. Spike went round each of his friend leaving Twilight last. "And of course, Twilight the element of magic." A spike brought the gem over to Twilight nothing happened. "huh, nothing's happing? maybe its still connected to you Twilight." Spike sent the gem over to Princess Twilight but still nothing happened. "I don't understand why nothing is happing?" Spike scratched his head confused.

"I know, I know, Try Sunset. She's one who brought us together at the battle of the bands and at the friendship games and when we went to camp and got super cool new powers. She showed us time and again how strong we are together" Pinkie suggested while she was in mid air.

"Pinkie that's silly im no Princess." Sunset argued.

"Neither was Twilight when she was given the Element Harmony." Spike shot back. "It worth a try Sunset." Spike sent the gem towards Sunset. The gem started to change colour and shape from a purple star to a red and orange sun just like Sunset's Cutie Mark.

Soon Sunset began glow and float just as her friends did. Soon the glowing from each Element wilder started to get brighter and brighter until they were shining a bright white light. Everypony had to close their eyes as the light be to be unbearable to look at. The build of light turned into Rainbow explosion causing the light to disappear. Everypony opened their eyes to see that the Mare's were now wearing the Elements of harmony. Fluttershy, Rainbow dash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Applejack were wearing their signature Necklaces with the Elements of Harmony on them. But Sunset wore a tiara with her Element on it just how Twilight use to have it.

"Turns out there's more for you in this universe then you first thought a Sunset." Spike commented with a smile.

Sunset was still in shock she couldn't believe that she was an element wilder. "But how? This doesn't make any sense?"

"Look I would love to answers all your questions, but I really have to go im sorry I will answer them soon." Spike headed to the towards the door but Princess Twilight called out before he could reach the handle.

"Be careful and watch out those Changelings could be any where." Twilight warned.

"Thanks Twilight." Spike hugged Twilight before turning around to leave. Just as Spike opened the front door Agile and Blazing galloped up to him and hugged their Dad tightly like they use to do when they where foals.

"Good luck, Dad." Agile smiled.

"Don't worry we'll get Mum back! Im sure of it." Blazing Diamond promised.

"Its going to be okay, you two. we'll get mum back and ill stop the master and every thing will go back to normal. Except this time I will spend more time with you that's a promise." Spike smiled, opened the door and took off into the sky.

"I just hope everything goes okay." Agile thought.

At Canterlot Castle.

Scootaloo was in the middle of the room laid down on a hospital bed, held in place by straps and Chain's. Scootaloo's eyes flutter open from a deep sleep, She founder self in a strange yet familiar room. It soon hit Scootaloo she was in her personal medical bay inside the Canterlot Castle where the Doctors would come and treat her when she needed it. Scootaloo notice there was no pony in the room and she couldn't remember how she got there in the first place.

It wasn't long before Scootaloo got the answers she wanted as she could hear a door open behind her. "So how do you feel Princess?" Master Nightmare asks trotting front of her.

"What did you do to me?" Scootaloo asks showing no fear just anger.

"Nothing bad, I've just cured your illness. your no longer dying!" The Master smiled, it wasn't kind or friendly. It was a smile you couldn't trust.

"Your lying. there is no cure!" Scootaloo didn't know what Master Nightmare playing at but she wasn't playing along with it.

"Its true there wasn't. But it only took me a couple of hours to come up with one, I am the most powerful wizard after all." The Master gloats enjoying his smug pride.

"So... What you gonna with me now?" Scootaloo asks not really wanting to know the answer.

"Nothing Princess you Bait to catch that Dumb husband of yours." The Master answers honestly

"He's Smart then you think?" Scootaloo argued.

"Then he should of given up already." The Master answers in serious tone before turning into a creepy smile. "But lets not talk about that. lets talk about what im going to do to you."

"What do you mean?" Scootaloo ask all her strength and anger left replaced by fear.

"leave us and shut the door behind!" The Master orders to which the Changelings obey.

The Master left the room half an hour later all that could be heard we're sound's Scootaloo crying, she hadn't felt so violated in all her life, all she wished for was a slow and Painful death for The Master.

The Master trotted back to his throne feeling proud of himself. Discord teleported into the room clearly angry at The master. "Was there any point to doing that?"

"There's no point in doing any thing but we still do. You of all sure understand that." The Master grinned an evil grin.

"I hope Spike kicks your arse." Discord looked at the colt in front of him with disgust. Even when Discord was evil he never stooped so low to Raping a prisoner.

"I know you don't mean that, you'll come round to my way of think soon Discord. I promise you Equestria will be ours with nothing standing in our way." The Master got up out of his throne and trotted out before turning around to Discord. "Now if you don't mind I have to go and be King."

Spike flew through the Sky with such speed he knew there was no time to waste. There was a chance to save Scootaloo and he wasn't going to waste it by being slow. Spike wasn't sure what he was going to say when speaks to Lord Ember, Spike Hadn't seen her since his wedding. but Spike had been writing letters to Ember telling her all about his adventures, thought, Feeling and on the odd occasion he would ask Ember for advisement with running Equestria. "I guess I'll wing it." Spike said aloud to him self making laugh. Through out his time as The Protector of Equestria he had always winged it and this time was the first time he had plan to stop the arsehole who was taking over. This could either mean two things that the plan was going to work perfectly or it was going fail harder then trying to get Pinkie to be quite.

Spike had soon reached the Dragon Lands and landed right out side the Castle of the Dragon Lord and proceeded to knock on the front doors. "Lord Ember I need to speak to you."

Two Dragon Guards opened the doors instantly "State your name Drake?" The Guard on the left asks.

"King Spike Sparkle, sir" Spike answered.

"And what is your business here?" The Guard on the right asks.

"I need to Speak to Lord Ember it is of up most urgency." Spike answers his voice not wavering once.

"Well The Dragon Lord is Quite Busy at the moment if you could come back at a later time."

"Could you go in there and let the Dragon Lord know Spike is here?" Spike ask confident that Amber would want to see him.

"Fine! wait here Drake." Spike did as he was told and waited out side the Castle doors. In no longer then five minutes the Guards returned. "The Dragon Lord will see you now."

"Thank you." Spike made his way into the castle it look like a posh cave on the inside. There was not much décor on the inside besides a few gems imbedded into the walls, but then again their dragons what did they need apart from gems. Spike found the Throne room, Lord Ember sat on her stone Throne while carrying her sceptre in one had she looked happy to see Spike.

"Spike! its good to see you. What brings you away from Ruling Equestria?" Ember gets up off her Throne and walks down to meet Spike.

"I Need your help?" Spike asks using his serious tone.

"Lets go for walk and Tell me everything."

Spike and Ember went for a walk out of the castle as Spike told Ember what had happened to Equestria and then told her about the plan to save Equestria. "Well that Explains the metal arm." Ember thought aloud looking at Spike's arm.

"Can you help us?" Spike asks

"I want to help Spike but there's a custom we have to go through first."

"Okay, What's that?" Spike asks curious what the custom is.

"I will put your case forward to the dragon's and you will have to prove you strength as a fighter and I will decided if your worthy to help or not." Ember Explained feel bad that she couldn't help him straight away.

"Okay fine ill do it." Spike wasn't in the least bit worried he had dealt with the darkest of magic and won, this would give Spike good warm up before reclaiming Equestria.

"Good. Lets go, oh before we do I must tell you, Spike that you have to pick out your opponent. Do you have an idea of who'll you'll pick?" Ember asks unsure.

"Oh I have just the Drake in mind."

Ember called Every Dragon to the Fighting Arena. Spike stood next to Ember as she spoke to the Dragons. "Dragon's I Have called you here today to because I have been asked for help from king Spike, here Standing next to me.(Ember pointed to Spike as she spoke.) And I have chosen to invoke the strong Heart code. If impresses me I will help and do what he asks of me and if not he will be casted away and left to deal with his own problems. Spike will now call out his opponent for battle." Ember looks over to Spike for him to talk.

"I Have chosen Garble as My opponent!" Spike announced and the continued to jump into the massive crater waiting for Garble.

Garble pushed pass all the dragon's to then jump into the crater him self. Garble was twice as bid as Spike, Garbles had gotten more mussels we're bigger and looked much stronger then Spike. Ember was worried about Spike, seeing the pair of them in the arena, from her point of view it didn't look good. Spike wasn't scared he'd been wanting to teach Garble a lesson for a long time now.

"COME ON PONY DRAKE! Its about time I taught you a lesson!" Garble teased trying to get Spike but he didn't care one bit."

"BRING IT!" Spike shouted making Garble charged at Spike running full pelt. Spike waited for the right before he began running and skidded on his feet delivering a punch to Garble gut with his metal arm, while tripping Garble up with his tail making him fall flat on his face. "How's the Dirt taste Garble?"

"GRRRAH!" Garble started to swing claw's in anger. Spike doge each swing of the claw then went low again when he had the chance, rapidly hit garble in the gut. Stun Garble for moment but he soon got his bearing and Grabbed hold Spike and picked him to throw back down on his knee. Spike groans feeling the knee hit his Back. "What's the matter you gonna cry like a pony?" Garble started to gloat like he had won already.

Spike took a moment to get up, but as soon as he was up he ran over and grab hold Garble's tail and Spun him until he flew into the wall of the crater. Spike chased after Garble and jumped atop of him Stopping him from get back up. Spike repeatedly punched Garble in the face ending it with a head but. Spike got off Gable thinking he had finished, but Garble was about get until Spike kicked him in the head knocking him out cold. "That's what you get for being arse. Don't mess with the Protector of Equestria!"

Ember could believe that Spike had won She flew down to meet the victor. Ember bowed to Spike along with the crowed. "King Spike we are at your service, what do you need?"

"I need you and your entire army at my aid." Spike answers.

"Then you may have them King Spike." Ember stood up again smiling.
