Chapters A Pegasus is what I am. Falling is what I am doing. I'll be dead soon, and soon the pain will be gone. Nothing makes sense! "Nice view..." I muttered to myself "...Of nothing." I was just outside a hut. Trying to pass the time by enjoying some scenery. Where is this place? I know Zecora told me that I was in the Everfree Forest, wherever that was. But I need to know where the Everfree is. Let's just revise the facts that I know, since I do not know much. So, I am in a hut in the Everfree which is considered a dangerous place. the forest is near a town known as Ponyville (creative name) which is where Zecora is now.
Next step: Analise the facts. If the Everfree is so dangerous with its Poison Jokes, Hydras, and who-know-what-is-in-there. Then why does Zecora live in the middle of this hazardous madness?! wouldn't it be more reasonable if she lived in Ponyville? And I will not take herbs an excuse. "Ouch!" The bunny just kicked me? "Ok, if you wanted my attention you could've just tapped gently . ya know, like normal bunnies are supposed to be!"
It just stared giving me the eyes. Ok. let's try to be diplomatic here "What do you want anyways? Go on. Shoo! Shoo- OUCH!"
It just kikced me again! Then kept staring as if expecting me to say something. Maybe it wants to know who am I? "If you're expecting some identification then you won't find it here. you see, I don't know my name...nor anything else."
It looked somewhat satisfied with my answer. Why is this rabbit so...so...not normal? then again the term 'normal' isn't fully understo-
"ANGEL!" somepony was shouting, quite quietly. I don't even know the point of shouting if nopony is gonna hear it. Wait...Where did that not normal bunny go? Never mind that, who was shouting? And what were they doing in the Everfree? *mental-facehoof* Of course they were searching for that 'Angel'.
"Oh, there you are Angel." the voice spoke again "Don't run off like that again. You made mommy scared."
The voice was getting further. The last thing I heard was something about playing with potions...Wait, what?!
I was inspecting some freaky looking masks. Zecora says they say 'welcome' or something. I hear trotting and turn to see that Zecora was back.
"How was your day?" I ask.
"Pretty good was my day. I met a friend on the way" She rhymed. I gotta admit, that was pretty cool.
"Umm, Zecora. I was thinking. Where is this Ponyville? I mean it's cozy in here and all, but I need to find my own way around."
"If you want, I can walk you there indeed. But you're wounded and care is what you need"
"Nah, don't worry about me, I feel great now thanks to you." I said "Oh, and before I forget, can I have one of those masks?"
I just said goodbye to Zecora and was now walking the streets of Ponyville. "Time to make friends" I said to myself. I put the mask on and walked confident that it'll do it's job of saying hi. I hear whispers at random places. Probably talking about the news or the latest gossip. Why is everypony staring at me? I sit on a bench and just wait. where will I get a place to stay? where will I get a job? Newspaper of course! I look around for somepony selling newspapers. As soon as I look at the guy he closes up immediately. Strange. What's up with everypony? Wait...Where is everypony?
"Talk about epic failure"
I make my way to the edge of the forst, but this is not the way I came out of. Where am I? I hear some birds. I turn around to see a cottage. Might as well ask for directions. I knock and I hear nothing. Maybe they didn't hear me due to the racket that is going on. I try again a little harder this time. Nothing. Ok, definitely not home. I turn to leave and I see a familiar face.
"You!"
*KICK*
"Ow!Ow!Ow! You little...COME HERE!" I began to chase the dreaded rodent. "YOU CANNOT GET AWAY FROM ME!"
(LISTEN TO THIS)
"I SHALL GET MY REVENGE RODENT!!"
I chased him a long way until I faceplanted on the mud puddle.
*KICK*
"OUCH! WILL YOU STOP THAT?!"
Next stop was the Chickens' coop. We ran through it only to lose track of the bunny and get a chicken on my head.
"Get off, this is no nest!" it got off only to be replace by an egg, and another, and another. I searched the place for the attacker to see that the rabbit was on top of the coop with an arsenal of eggs.
"YOU'LL PAY FOR THI-" I was silenced by another egg to the face. "That's it." I wiped my face "You're dead." I jumped to grab it only for it to get away and fall on my behind. Where did it-
*KICK*
"OW! HOW DID YOU GET THERE SO FAST?! NO, WAIT, COME BACK SO I CAN PUMMEL YOU!!!"
The chase continued with me covered with feathers that are held in place with eggs and mud. In short: I was a mess.
(STOP THE MUSIC)
"Angel! why running so fast?" The yellow mare then looked at me "eep"...Silence.
"Quite an ironic name for your bunny miss." I simply said trying to be as polite as possible.
"............."
"Huh?"
"........ ........."
"Umm, okay. I'll just be on my way then. I'll use your watering hose to clean up if you don't mind."
She shook her head, and I proceeded to get cleaned up.
"Cold!" I whimpered "So cold!" As I was washing I began to think about why would one pony want to get in the mess of taking care of so many animals.
I haven't noticed but the yellow Pegasus was gone now.
"Whoa, how quiet can you get? I bet she'll make an excellent spy."
Looking around I saw her watching me from her window, the window that was quickly closed with a barely audible "eep"
"Better not bother her anymore"
I trotted out of her property, then I remembered something..."The mask!"
It's night and I'm completely alone on the bench. Time to revise facts: I have nowhere to go, no food, No money, It's cold, I have no friends that I know of, and last but not least I do not know where I am or who I am.
Analise: I have to sleep in this park and then get my hooves on a newspaper tomorrow morning. It will provide me work and thus a roof over my amnesiac head.
"Sleeping on this thing is so hard!" I complained "I just had to have some self respect and 'find my own way around'! Hmph!"
It took me long enough but I slept eventually.
*PECK*...*PECK* *PECK*
"Whaa.." I rub my eyes and open them to find a bird pecking my head. What's up with me and animals?
"You know, I'm not a worm, early bird. Neither am I dead...yet."
It flew away. Good thing too since I have to start my paper-hunt. The time was too early for newsstands. I think of an alternative as I make my way down town.
"This was a stupid decision." I said. I thought I might find somepony to ask to borrow a darn paper. Nopony. the streets were so empty that the sound of my trotting echoes. "Did I miss a Zompony apocalypse?" I shuddered at the Idea. Wait...What's that on the step of that door? Could it be? I approach a little. Yes! Finally! A paper! But It's not mine. I frown.
"This is considered stealing. But desperate times call for desperate decisions."
I sit on the doorstep, grab the paper and flap through it trying to find a job. But what's my talent? Oh well, I just gotta try and-
"What do you think you are doing?" A voice said from behind me causing me to jump.
"Oh, Um, I was just...borrowing your paper?...*ahem* sir.?"
He gave me a long look. A look that I didn't survive through and broke out.
"Ok, I'll just be off then." I scramble my way out leaving the paper hanging for a dew seconds.
"Hmm, now where will I get what I want?" I start talking to myself, If I don't stop it the habit will grow on me.
"Hey, Lyra, take a look at the news." A creme colored mare on a bench said.
"Shoo bushy." An aquamarine mare replied. I think she meant 'Too busy'. Then I realized that she was digging on a pie. The two desires I need right now are right there on the bench: paper and pie.
*GRUMBLE*
"I told you stomach, I don't have any food!"
Back to thinking, how am I supposed to get these objects? Maybe ask nicely? No I'll sound stupid. The paper has priority over the pie, so I just gotta peek quietly and maybe she won't notice me.
I lean from behind the bench trying to get a glimpse what she was holding on her hooves. I must've looked very creepy but I couldn't care less. Lucky for me, the help needed page was open. I just need to get a little clos-
"Can I help you Mr.?" The creme mare said catching me completely off guard.
"Um, yeah..." I stopped not knowing what to say.
"Well? how can I help you?" sounding friendly and suspicious at the same time.
"By forgetting you ever saw me."
"Wha-" I dashed away, again. I'm such a coward. But her thinking I'm a potential creep didn't help the matter. Escaping sounded so much more reasonable.
As soon as I was away I began to brainstorm my next plan.The first thing that popped in the back of my head was begging, but I immediately shoved the thought away. My mind came up with nothing.
"ALL I WANT IS A DARN PAPER PONIES! IS THAT HARD TO ASK?!" I shouted completely forgetting the ponies all around me. Speaking of which, all of their eyes were on me.
"Eheheh. Nothing to see here, just carry on, ignore me." I said as I shied away.
"Hey there, I couldn't help to...overhear , but why do you want a paper? you want to send a message?...That is if you don't mind me asking." A sky-blue Pegasus stallion with red mane said.
"No, I don't want to send a message, I want a newspaper"
"And why is that?"
"I just want a job" he started rolled over laughing his flank off
"What's so funny?" He clearly couldn't find the breath to reply so I just waited for him to stop laughing, which took him time.
"Dude, you're a Pegasus!" He said wiping some tears.
"Yeah, so?"
"so go to Cloudsdale, they're always hiring" I have no idea where Cloudsdale is but I'll ask later.
"Ok, so what about a place to stay?"
"You serious?"
"Yes I need to get home and fast, I don't wanna sleep on the bench again" Tears were forming on the edges of his eyes.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! " He started slamming his hoof on the ground. I hope he doesn't get a heart attack.
"Boy, this is going to take time, call me when you're done laughing."
"So I need to go to Cloudsdale for a job, find a cloud to sleep, and when I want to shower I kick a cloud? a Pegasus' life is cloudy indeed, get it? it's cloud an- never mind. Now you don't wanna laugh" I say to the Pegasus as he recovered from his mocking session.
"Right you are my friend" he said.
"If what you say is right, then my life is so simple. I don't need to over-think things anymore"
"Yes, and by the way, I need to stick by you since you seem so lost"
"Thanks, I guess..." I said "One more question though"
"You wanna know were Cloudsdale is?"
"How did you know?!"
"Lucky guess."
"You can apply there, they'll ask a lot of questions but they'll be easy enough, even for you."
"Uhuh, so that's it?"
"Pretty much. Oh, and my name is Thunder Clap" he extended a hoof. Quick, I need a name! The idea of clouds was stuck in my head.
"Cloud Burn" I grab his hoof and shake.
I finally got a job on weather control. My life is so simple, almost as if it's running itself. Stressfree. Now I know why Pegasi symbolize freedom, these clouds are so fluffy! I could just stay here the whole day. However, I can't I won't be getting paid till the end of the month and that's two weeks from now. I need food...BAD!
"I wish I could have lunch with Thunder, but he has guests or something" I say "Plus, I don't know him that well"
"Um, Hi" A quiet whisper from my right said.
"Hey. Oh, you're the animal lover from yesterday! I'm very sorry for the mess I've made."
"It's okay, I know how Angel can be. He says he is sorry." So it's a he.
*SPLASH*
"Angel! That's not very nice." She says to the rabbit below. For such tiny eyes he's got hay of an aim, and now I've got tomato squash on my face, and I'm not going to let this chance slip away. I lick every square inch I can reach of the juice. Divine!
"What?" I ask as she is staring at me. I guess I sounded a bit intimidating as she didn't reply, so I try to break the silence.
"I've had a mask like that before" I point at the piece in her hoof.
"A-Actually, this is yours. You left it at my yard" she hoofs me the mask "I came to return it. It reminds me of a friend I know."
Revise facts: "Pretty good was my day. I met a friend on the way" "You made mommy scared" "It reminds me of a friend I know"
"Is that friend called Zecora?"
"Yes! you know her too?" That seemed to make her more comfortable as her voice became a tiny bit more audible.
"Yeah, she gave me the mask" I reply trying to keep her out of her shell "It didn't work though..."
"Work? Is it supposed to do something?"
"That's what I've been told but... It's a really long story" my stomach roars "And I don't have the energy to tell it anyway"
"How about y-you tell me that story over lunch in my house?...I-If that's okay with you"
"Definitely!!"
"-And that's how Equestria was made!" A pink mare just said after I was done telling my story. When did she get here anyway?
"How was it made again?" I ask. Right now every bit of information proved to be vital.
She inhales a deep breath that seemed to drain the air in the room.
"That lunch was great." I say as we are trotting out of the house "Thanks again for having me."
"No problem at all." she said with shy yet kind smile.
"Oh! I didn't catch your name" That caught her off guard.
"It's...Fluttershy" that was extremely low volume.
"Fluttershy?" I had to make sure I heard it right. Sure enough, she nods.
"Nice meeting you Fluttershy, my name is Cloud Burn" I extend a hoof which she accepts hesitantly. Strange, she was just fine seconds ago. No matter. She's probably grown to her name.
I wake up next morning for work. I don't even bother to brush or anything, I simply kick a cloud and I'm ready for the day.
"Time for work" I make my way to Cloudsdale to receive a briefing of what I should do.
"Hey, dude, over here!" A voice I recognize immediately "How is your second day of work?"
"We haven't started yet Clap"
"Oh, then I'm way too early. And I told you I prefer Thunder, It's cooler"
"What?"
"Never mind. I got assigned to the same section you're in. Work will be so much fun!"
"Yeah..."
"Specially watching you fall on your flank."
"HEY!"
I just finished work. Exhausted. Probably because I didn't fetch breakfast...Nor dinner last night.
"See you tomorrow Clou- Whoa, Somepony needs an energy drink!"
"I don't just need a drink."
"Come"
"Wha-" He grabs my hoof and pulls me through the sky "Can we slow down a bit?"
"I'm afraid you will die if we don't hurry" Uh-oh, do Pegasi have a condition for the lack of food? Thunder seemed to sense that I'm troubled.
"It was a joke dude, sheesh. Even a sheep can't be as clueless as you are"
"He-e-e-e-e-e-e-y!" Said a sheep from beneath us.
We finally stop at a cloud house. He shoves me in and throws a sandwich at the table. Why is everypony so generous so sudden?
"Eat"
"Umm, okayyy" I start to eat. This thing is horrible but I eat without complaining.
"Sis is a better cook, but I figured that you want your lunch today "
"Is she really that slow?"
"As slow as you are at clearing clouds"
"Hey! It was my second day."
"Not like you haven't practiced before, right?" I don't reply "right?"
"I don't know..."
"What do you mean 'I don't know'?"
"I can't remember"
"You mean that you have amnesia or something?" I nod "That explains so much"
"What? you're not going to make fun of me?"
"There is nothing funny about amnesia" He said with an out-of-character seriousness "If you have no place to go, you can stay with me"
"But you said that Pega-"
"I mean you don't have bits for food. You can stay until you can stand on your own" I don't even bother rejecting since he is so serious.
"Well, if you insist,"
*BAM*
"I lost count of the times I beat you" Clap said with a smirk radiating pride.
"Hoof wrestling isn't my thing"
"So is everything"
"I got insulted so many times that it lost it's taste"
"Who cares how you taste them? I'm doing this for my own amusement"
"This is the real reason you invited me, isn't it?" His smirk got wider. "I can't help to think that why are you living with your sister"
"Sister?"
"Yeah, you said that your sister is a better cook than you"
"Oh, that, haha!"
"What's so funny?"
"Her name is Weather System. And I call her Sys for short"
"Oh. So what is she to you?"
"What do you mean?"
"Is she a friend, best friend best friend forev-"
"Marefriend."
"But why does she live with you, and why is she not here by this time?"
"She probably ran off with her friends for some crazy thing for sure. As to why we live together, that is simply because we are planning to take it to the next step" At that moment I felt like I was intruding their privacy by staying here.
"And why did you accept a stranger at such a critical phase?"
"You already know that answer"
"Oh yeah"
Then one thing popped at the back of my mind. Who was that pink mare from yesterday?
This is the fourth day staying with Thunder and his out-of-sight marefriend. It's weird that I never saw her. Probably because I never use the front door; I live in the attic that has a window leading to the roof of the cloud house, you guessed it, I use the window. Mainly because I feel like I'm disturbing them. How do I eat if I don't step downstairs? Simple, I make sure nopony is around and sneak in the kitchen for snacks whenever I can. The only conversation happens when Thunder and I are working. Speaking of which...
"How come I never see you after work Burn?" Clap asks.
"I said 'you'll never notice me' and I mean it."
"But I notice that there is less food whenever I turn my back to the fridge."
"I can't help it. By the way, I never saw Weather System, yes, I don't step in the living room but I have to at least hear her talk or something."
"She... She won't be coming soon." his voice grim.
"What do you mean."
"I probably shouldn't tell you this, but I need to talk about it to someone."
"You're scaring me, tell already."
"We had... an argument." An argument? after I settled with them? This can't be good "Sys said that I should not make decisions without discussing." Was it me? "She said that it won't work out this way." at that moment curiousity broke me.
"What started the argument?"
"It was... bringing you to stay." He saw the color drain from my face "Nonono, no you , the decision itself was the problem. And frankly, it's not the first time I hand down judgment without asking her."
"How come I never heard you?"
"I guess it happened when you were away."
"Do you know where she is?"
"Not exactly, I know where she works. But why?"
"You'll have your mare back if it kills me... I hope it doesn't get that far."
We were done with clearing some clouds and creating a minor storm someplace. Time to stalk Weather. We wait for her at a key point, and sure enough, there she is... or is it that one?
"Hey Clap, what does she look like?" He facehoofs.
"Let me do the watching, you jus- There she is"
"Ok, now remember that 90% of life is mere words, you have to nail the body language as well."
"I thought you had amnesia, how do you know so much."
"I simply don't know what I know I just know, You know?"
"Wha- whatever" He flies away to meet his love. I watch closely from inside the cloud. He is talking to her and apparently she's loosening up to him. Arms uncross bit by bit, face slowly easing up, glare dying by the second. It's working. She hugs him! Yay! I feel so relieved. He flies my way and pulls me out of the cloud.
"Sys, I'd like you to meet Cloud Burn, Cloud Burn, this is Weather System."
"Uh... hello." How could he put me such a situation?!
"Nice to finally meet you Cloud." She said with a smile and a slight chuckle.
"Same here..." Quick! Think of something!
"How about we all have lunch back at the house?" Clap said. Thank you!
"Let's go, I'll cook" Sys said.
"You weren't kidding when you said she takes her time!" I whisper to Thunder who is sitting beside me on the kitchen table. And he looks really bored.
"Whatever you do, don't comment." he said
"Is it that horrible?"
"No, her cooking is great actually. Don't comment on the delay."
"Why would I?"
"She'll ask you."
"Lunch is served!" Sys said "Sorry for taking so long, did I bore you two?"
"Not at all, we were having a friendly conversation actually." He said
"Ok, then. What are you waiting for? Dig in!" She said to both of us.
"Clap, you're one lucky guy." I said after finishing lunch. Sys was upstairs doing... something.
"You have no idea."
"I think I'm going outside for some fresh air" I get up.
"What are you talking about? This is a cloud, air can't be fresher than this." By the time he said that I was at the door.
"You know what I mean." I close the door behind me and fly away.
"What to do now? The park of course. Crazy things always happen there." I mutter to myself. I land at the park and take a seat on the bench. The first thing I notice was a purple baby dragon being pulled by two magical auras, one was for Lyra, the other belonged to a purple mare.
"The lucky dude!" I cannot help but envy. I quickly shift my gaze away because jealousy was eating me alive. I really wish I had a marefriend.
"I bet you can't lick your elbow." a filly said to a another
"Oh yeah? Watch." Then she attempted the action but failed. She tried again and again and again. so I decided to give it a try.
"This is so hard!" I say to myself
"Hehehe, this is fun. What are you doing?" The same pink mare from that other day was sitting beside me now.
"Licking my elbow?"
"Can I play?"
"Sure, why not?" She then started to lick her elbow and succeeded. "You make it look easy."
"It is easy. Just lick your elbow, not that complicated, hehe"
"Ok, I'm Cloud Burn"
*GASP* That gasp almost vacuumed me into her lungs.
"You're new in town and I didn't throw you a party yet butyouweresofastandnevercamedownfromthecloudsandIdon'tknowwhereyouliveand-"
"Whoa, whoa, whoa. Easy with the breath, just tell me your name."
"It's Pinkie Pie. gotta go bye!" That rhymed. Reminds me of a certain zebra.
"see you later?" She was out of sight by the time I said 'later'. Sometimes, I can't understand ponies.
I look around for any craziness I can find. Nothing.
*WHOOSH*
"Hey! That almost ripped my head off!"
"Sorry Mr. we didn't mean to-" A yellow filly said.
"It's ok, I've been through worse. And it didn't hit me anyway."
"Hey, where is your cutie mark?" an orange Pegasus filly asked me.
"Does that mean we'll never have our cutie marks like you?" a snow-white unicorn asked. She seemed at the verge of tears.
"I don't know. I guess I lost it with my memory." I tried to comfort them a bit. It worked.
"So ya need ta find it again?"
"I think so..." Uh-oh. That probably was the wrong thing to say because they were giving me a look of a serial killer.
"Boy, am I run-down" I said after the the things I went through. I mean, I'm sure my cutie mark can't be fixing a roof while dressing up like a ballerina. Come to think of, I think that those girls pranked me... Naaaaaaaah...I'm too tired to use my wings so I trot through the streets, when I reach my destination I'll fly.
"Hey Mr.Burn! Over here!" I jump at Sweetie's voice.
"Aren't we done like half an hour before?"
"Yes, but that's not why I need you."
"Huh?"
"Just come with me to SugerCube Corner."
"Huh?"
"The bakery!"
"Huh?"
"Just follow me."
"Ok, then. but I'm sure we've tried baking."
"SURPRIZE!!!!!!!!"
I clench my heart preventing it from escaping my ribs. "Uheheh..." I know, smooth talker, no?
"I know it's late for a welcome-to-ponyville-Cloud-Burn party but I had to throw you a party because I didn't and now I did so-"
"Thanks Pinkie."
"No problem I always throw parties and let me tell you they are serious business. I can't ignore any rule."
"Rule?"
"Yes, I have rules for parties. wanna hear them?" An orange mare from behind Pinkie was gesturing something for me I didn't understand.
"Sure." The mare facehoofs
"...And rule one hundre-"
"I think I get it Pinkie. Maybe some other time? I mean there is a party I have to attend." I try smuggling my way out of the rule vortex without hurting her.
"Oh, yeah, you're right!" Phew.
I go to get some punch. and enjoy the party without interacting with anypony. Don't get me wrong, I'm not socially awkward I just can't deal with so many attendees. Plus I simply hate being the center of attention.
"Sup Cloud" A familiar voice said.
"Nothing, just a party being thrown for me if you haven't noticed Clap"
"Strange I thought the roof was what's up. Anyway, why don't you go and socialize?"
"Bunch of reasons."
"Like what?"
"I can't just go to somepony and talk! that would be weird."
"Pffft, nonsense. See that mare over there?"
"The Yellow one?"
"Yeah, go talk to her."
"Wha...? You can't be serious."
"Dude, you need a marefriend or you will get really depressed." Actually he was right. But I'm pretty sure Fluttershy would run the other way.
"But she's no option."
"How do you know? ever talked to her?"
"Actually-"
"No you didn't, now go get her." he shoves me in her line of sight. Too late to run now, she saw me.
"Hey, Fluttershy. Good to see that you could make it."
"Oh, um... Hi Cloud." Silence. Think!
"Where is Angel?" I know I'll regret this.
"He's at home. But if you want to see him you can visit tomorrow." Yup, I regret it now.
"Sure, I'd love to see the little bunny." I'm sure I said that bitterly but she didn't notice. "Enjoy the party" I trot away back to Thunder.
"So?"
"So what?"
"How did it go?"
"Fine." His eyes beam with pride.
"You have a marefriend now."
"What? N-"
"Haven't I told you?"
"But-"
"Never underestimate my experience with mares."
"Thun-"
"And always try before-"
"THUNDER!!" The whole place becomes silent "Carry on ponies, never mind me" They carry on. "Thunder, I have to say this was not the first time I met her. And she's really shy."
"How did you meet her?"
"Her pet covered me with eggs, mud and feathers. Yeah, don't ask."
The party was at full swing until midnight. I even met the lucky dragon from earlier today but I was too exhausted to ask him for tips.
"Now where was I? Oh yes. Boy am I run-down" I continue to trot on the path.
"Yeah, that party really took it out of me" Thunder said while flying beside me.
"At least you can fly."
"Are you really that tired? You never danced or done anything!"
"It's not that, it's the Cutie Mark Hunters or something."
"You mean the Cutie Mark Crusaders?"
"Yeah, them. They made me do lots of stuff"
"Like what?"
"You don't wanna know."
"But I do want to know." He lands and starts trotting "C'mon, spit it out."
"Fine, they made me dress up like-"
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!..."
"-A ballerina."
"...HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!"
"C'mon don't do this to me, we need to go home."
Thunder finally recovered from his laugh-attack and we are just below the cloud house.
"Um, Clap. Can you carry me up?"
"Sure, want me to tuck you too?"
"Ha-Ha, I'm serious I can't even stand."
"Maybe you want a lullaby or kiss you goodnight?"
"I'm serious Thund-"
"Koo-koo-koo!" And he sucks his hoof.
"THUNDER!!!"
"Ok, fine" He carries me to the front door. I trot in and try to keep my balance until I reach the stairs.
"Time to fetch some shuteye" *YAWN* "I just... Need to... Ascend the... Stairs..." the exhaustion was catching up on me shutting down my functions "...Too.Tired.For..." And I drop right then and there.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: You need to read 'Spike's Imaginary(?) Friend' because it'll explain some confusing points. And sorry for the short chapter.
"Waaaaake uuuuuup!" I groan at the sound of Clap "Ooooooor yooooooou will be laaaaate fooooor woooork!"
"Cut it out! It's annoying as hay!" I stuff pieces of cloud in my ears.
"Nooooooot uniiiiiiiil yoooooouuu geeeeeet uuuuuuu-"
"Fine! I'm up!"
"Goooooood foooooo-"
"Shut. UP!"
"Oooooookaaaaa-"
"Put a cloud in it." I shove a cloud in his mouth.
Another day at work, kick clouds, rearrange some and rain some. I try to get it done quickly so I can rest. Turns out, time runs fast when you're half asleep.
"C'mon move it! Or is ballet the only thing you can do?"
"Look, yesterday was a rough, and today wasn't all that fun. So please, please have some mercy and shut up! You're hurting my eardrums... And my brain."
"You need a cupcake."
"Cupcake? What are you talking about?"
"Not just any cupcake, the cupcake. SugarCube corner makes it only once in a month!"
"How is that supposed to help? What I need is a comfortable cloud away from the over-bright sun."
"You will know when we get there." I just know I can't win this.
"Lead the way."
"That willl be ten bits!" Pinkie said overly excited, I'm just buying cupcakes for goodness sakes. I look at Thunder expecting him to pay since he suggested it.
"What?" I sigh.
"I think it's 5 bits each right?"
"Right, can I borrow 5 bits?" You're despicable. I pay the price and trot out which was not so easy since the place was over-crowded.
"aren't you going to eat that?"
"I'm not hungry, let's just head home."
"Just one bite?"
"If it makes you stop bugging me." I take a tiny bite, sugar runs in my blood and soon, the food was gone. "I feel so... awake."
"lets go home now."
"Race ya there!" And I zoom away.
"Heheh, just as planned."
My energy runs out as soon as I reach the house.
"Wh-what happened?" I ask as my I try to stop my legs from shaking.
"You ran out of juice, that is what happened."
"Good timing too. Now all I need to do is to face my old enemy, stairs ."
"Should not be too hard, I suggest you get up there before you completely drop." I take the advice and trot through my way to the first step. I did not even touch it as I was interrupted by Sys.
"Aren't you going to eat lunch?" I forgot about that. All I want is a bed, why cannot I ever get what I want?
"Oh, thanks, but I already ate." My stomach grumbles. Traitor!
"I can see that. Now sit." I accept my fate and take a seat, which I find oddly comfortable. I'm sure nopony will notice if I rest my eyes for a bit.
"Cloud? Cloud!" Thunder pokes me.
"Eh, I'm up. how long was I out?"
"Fifteen minutes." surely doesn't feel like it. Sys serves the meal which I gobble up, not from hunger but to get it over with.
"Great lunch, thanks." I escape the scene.
"you're welcome?" She mutters behind me but I was already up there.
"Ahh," I snuggle in the bed. "Yeah, this is heavenly." Nothing can keep me from sleeping now.
"CUTIE MARK CRUSADERS, DRUM MASTERS, YAY!!!! " As if their voices weren't enough, drums started playing absolute dissonance. No matter. Probably some fillies having fun, they'll get tired eventually right? right?
20 minutes later
"That's it. I'm going to give those little disturbers a piece of my mind! no more Mr. Nice Guy." I Don't even bother to stomp as I open the window and fly down. "What's with the racket- eeep!" Maybe they didn't see me. I should run away.
"Hey Mr. Burn. Want to crusade with us?" Sweetie belle asked.
"Sounds like fun, but I-"
"Great!" They shove sticks in my hooves. I look around for an escape and see a glimpse of a certain white bunny. The rodent glares back.
"I have a better idea for a cutie mark."
"What is it?" They all ask in unison.
"How about 'Cutie Mark Crusaders, Rabbit Caretakers'?"
"Oh, we already tried animals." Apple bloom crushes my hope.
"Rabbit spa caretakers?" That did the trick. "And I think I see one right over there." I point a hoof at and they were off. "Finally, some good luck." I flay up to the open window. "Peace and quiet and vengeance."
I yawn and stretch. I look at the time and it's 1:30 a.m. Great. now I can't sleep anymore and I can't do anything else.
"Where does the craziness go when you need it?" I hope the night isn't very dark. "Now I might be amnesiac but I'm sure flying in the dark is against the laws." I wander the night anyway in hopes that I find something interesting, and I did, I found out that I am extremely nyctophobic. The silence is creeping me out. It's as if everypony just died. aren't there some night clubs or something? Maybe not. I should probably head back and stare into the wall.
