ESF: The Final Battle
Chapter 6: Operation: Storm Canterlot!
Previous ChapterNext ChapterAfter the magic duel, Galaxy had taken serious injuries from Val's spell. Thankfully, it hadn't killed him due to him being half alicorn. That made him hard to kill, but it wasn't impossible. The others, however, did not know this. Castiel was talking to the rest of the gang. "I checked Galaxy's pulse. He's..." Castiel sighed, then continued, "taken serious injuries from Valerium's spell." He explained. "Everypony, this may shock you, so prepare your ears." He added. The gang listened. "You all must be wondering how Galaxy survived." He stated. Crystal and everypony nodded. "Well, Galaxy is......half alicorn." He explained. The expressions on everyponies' faces were something I wish I could have seen. According to from what Castiel told me, they were priceless.
"WHAT?!!!!!!!!!" Everypony but Crystal exclaimed. Castiel nodded, then looked at Crystal, who seemed to be smirking a little bit.
"Crystal, you seem....un-surprised by this." Castiel raised an eyebrow. Crystal nodded.
"I....practically knew the whole time." Galaxy's wife giggled. Quillton's jaw dropped.
"You knew?!" He exclaimed. Crystal giggled.
"I'm practically the only pony who truly knows my husband, Quill." She told the white pony. His expression was one of pure shock. Everypony was at Galaxy's cottage because Galaxy could rest easier at home than my shop. Galaxy was in his bed asleep, his breathing shallow and labored. Crystal came in the room and checked his forehead. She then put a thermometer in his mouth, checking his temperature. The thermometer read 100.3 degrees. He was warm. Galaxy was covered in blankets up to where his neck met his shoulders. Castiel came in. "Cass, can Galaxy's eyesight be fixed?" She asked. The angel didn't answer. "What is it? You know something I don't know." She guessed. The angel nodded.
"Yes." He answered finally. "Galaxy's eyesight might be fixable." He replied. Crystal's eyes lit up. "However, there are two options." He added. Crystal groaned. "I can either fix it with my angel powers, or Galaxy has to wear glasses for the rest of his life." He explained. "Since I can't ask him directly, it's your decision." Castiel told Crystal. She pondered.
"20/20 vision vs glasses." She thought. "I'd rather my Galaxy have his full eyesight." She told Castiel, who nodded. He gently put a hoof on Galaxy's forehead and his eyes glowed a brilliant white. A few seconds later his eyes returned to their normal color. As an un-intended result, Galaxy's eyes snapped open. Crystal jumped. "Honey?" She asked. Melody came in and jumped on her father's bed.
"Dad? Are you OK?" She asked. Galaxy sat up and rotated his shoulders. They ached with pain.
"Ahhhh." Galaxy groaned. "What...what happened?" He asked. The three other pegasai looked at each other, then back to Galaxy. "Well, what is it?" He asked.
"Galaxy." Castiel replied, holding up a stack of cards. "How many cards am I holding up?" He asked. Galaxy looked at the cards.
"Five. Why ask me....." Galaxy froze, checking the number again and rubbing his eyes. "Holy....." He realized. He brought his hooves to his face. "I have 20/20 vision again!" Galaxy exclaimed, laughing. "Wait." He gasped. "Mocha! We have to....." He said, trying to sit up more. Galaxy then grabbed his side and laid back down. "Ooh, bad idea to sit up." He groaned. Crystal nodded.
"That would be Valerium's spell still affecting you. Side effects, I think." She told him. Castiel nodded.
"You're really in no state to move, buddy." Quillton's voice came from behind Castiel, Crystal, and Melody. The three stepped aside to let the earth pony walk through. "Galaxy, the best thing for you right now is to stay here and rest. The rest of us are going to Canterlot and rescuing Celestia." He explained. Galaxy looked at him.
"No, I've got to come buddy. I can...." Galaxy protested before his side ached again. Quillton shook his head.
"No, too dangerous, plus, flying in that state? You'd be lucky to even get off the fucking ground." He replied. "Look, Crimson is staying behind to watch you." He added. Galaxy raised an eyebrow.
"What about Crystal and Melody? I can't let them go alone." He told his best friend. Melody looked at her father.
"Dad, look. I picked up fighting easily. I can handle Uncle Comet with Mom and the others." Galaxy's daughter said. Galaxy sighed.
"Yes, Mel, I know that, but if something were to happen to you and your mother......" Galaxy's voice trailed off when Crystal kissed her husband. Quillton made a sound of disgust as he turned away.
"We'll be fine, sweetie." Crystal promised. Galaxy nodded finally and turned to go back to sleep. An hour later, the gang was heading to Canterlot. Quillton was leading the band of ponies.
"OK, guys, We're storming the gates! Comet will no doubt have guards placed. If they attack, disable quickly and efficiently!" Quillton shouted. Crystal, Soul, Sunset, Luna, Castiel, Melody, and Icy were charging full throttle towards the palace. Comet's guards were armed for combat. That's when Quillton heard the barking. His ears dropped. "Oh no, don't tell me......" He gulped. Everypony else except Castiel was afraid. Once his glasses were on, Quillton let out an incoherent squeak. There were not one, not two, but ten huge hellhounds barking and snapping their jaws. Soul gasped.
"Hellhounds?!!" She exclaimed. "I thought Galaxy got them all after killing Crowley!" She protested. A hellhound barked at her in reply, causing her to hide behind Castiel. Quillton got his battle face on.
"We'll have to fight our way through. Guys, CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!" Quillton yelled as the small band charged, ready to fight to the bitter end. Quillton jumped over a hellhound and stabbed downwards with his special sword, made out of Stygian Iron. It absorbed the spirit of the enemy it killed, making it stronger against that specific enemy. Hellhound one was down, but there were still nine more to fight plus Comet's guards. Sunset fired a blast at a guard, but his armor absorbed the attack. That's when everypony stopped fighting. The gates opened, revealing me walking down the steps in a black cloak with a red pentagram, my eyes glowing a deep purple and a wicked grin on my face.
"Mocha!" Soul exclaimed in delight. She yelped as I fired a blast of magic at her. "Scratch that, not Mocha." She gulped. I stepped to face my friends, my eyes glowing.
"Sorry guys, but this is where your fight ends." I smirked. My voice was my voice, but it wasn't my voice. The real battle....had begun.
