CHAPTER 2

A day has passed since the castle of the two sisters incident. Apple Jack was back at Sweet Apple Achers thinking that she has left the bad experience behind. But little did she know the nightmare was just getting started.

It’s night in Equestria. Apple Jack is back at Sweet Apple Acres. It’s the middle of the night as Apple Jack twists and turns on her bed having a bad dream. Suddenly, Apple Jack wakes up all covered in sweat breathing heavily as she looks around her room. Her room is pitch black as always, she tries to calm herself up and takes a deep breath when unexpectedly, a knock at the front door is heard. Apple Jack hesitates for a second and gets out of bed to answer the door.

“I remember that night. Big Mac hadn’t returned from his delivery and Granny Smith and Apple Bloom where still visiting Goldie Delicious. I just assumed they were back home.” Apple Jack narrates.

The knock is heard again. Apple Jack walks towards the front door asking to see who’s there. “Who is it?” She asks but no one answers. The knock is heard once more. “Big Brother is that you?” She asks but no one answers. “Is someone out there?” She asks frightened. There is a silence for a moment. Then the voice of a small filly is heard.

“Hello? C-Can you help me? Please?” The voice asks. It seems scared. “I’m looking for my mom and my dad. I’m lost.”

Apple Jack feels relived she takes a deep breath as she walks towards the front door. “Do your mom or dad know you´re here sweetie?” She opens the door to greet her guest but there is no one out there. She looks around looking for anyone. “Hello?” She asks but no one answers. “Little one?” She looks around but no one is outside but her.

Confused, Apple Jack walks back inside and locks the front door. She is scared. As she walks back to her room thinking about what just happened she starts hearing the sound of someone else’s footsteps behind her. She stops and turns around. All she sees is a dark empty room. Afraid, Apple Jack hurries into her bedroom, locks her door and gets under the bedsheets as fast as she can.

“You can call be crazy if you want Twilight. But I had this feeling there was someone else in the house other than me.” She continues.

Back at Twilights library she hears Apple Jacks tale with disbelief. “That sounds horrible AJ.”

Apple Jack looks at Twilight, her eyes looked more scared than before. “But the worst part came the day after.”

Apple Jack wakes up the next day, a little bit tired since she wasn’t able to sleep much. She looks around her room it all appears normal until she sees that her bedroom door is completely opened. Apple Jack stares at it feeling scared.

“I know I closed my bedroom door Twilight. I’m certain. Someone came into my room that night after I fell asleep. I searched the house up and down but found no one. So I just got on with my chores and hoped Big Mac will come home soon.”

As Apple Jack dose her chores she enters the barn carrying a broom to start cleaning it. She hesitates for a moment and decides to keep the barn door open. She starts sweeping the barn up and down as usual. But suddenly while she was cleaning she hears a whisper closed to her ear. She turns around but found no one else there.

“I started to have this… feeling that, I wasn’t alone. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like you´re being watched.”

Frightened, Apple Jack leaves the broom in the barn and walks outside as quickly as possible. But it doesn’t matter where Apple Jack went or what she did. She couldn’t shake the eerie feeling of being watched by someone.

As night time falls over Ponyville Apple Jack decides to call it an early night. She tucks herself into bed not before assuring herself, for a third time, that her bed room door was locked. Time goes by but Apple Jack isn’t able to sleep peacefully as a recurring nightmare of the death of her parent hunts her sleep waking her up again and again all thru the night. Feeling depressed and tired, for the lack of sleep, Apple Jack just lays on her bed waiting for the sun to come out.

“I started to have terrible nightmares Twi. Horrible nightmares. I kept waking up over and over again all night long.” Apple Jack narrates. “So I just decided to stay awake until morning.”

As Apple Jack closes her eyes trying to get some rest she hears the sound of her bedroom’s door knob turning slowly. Apple Jack wakes up immediately. She sits up and turns towards her bedrooms door as it slowly opens revealing the pitch black door way outside her bedroom. Frozen with fear, Apple Jack stares into the empty hallway not wanting to blink for a second.

“I couldn’t see anyone. But I swear there was something there. Watching me from my bedroom door. I could feel it’s eyes looking straight at me Twilight. I swear. It was waiting for me to fall asleep again.”

Apple Jack shows Twilight her arm, it is covered with scars, cuts and bruises. Twilight sees Apple Jacks arm.

“Did that thing harm you AJ?” She asks.

Apple Jack tries to hold her tears. “I’m sorry Twi. I didn’t know what else to do.”

Twilight looks up at Apple Jack in disbelief. “Oh my. You… You did this to yourself AJ?”

Apple Jack hesitates to answer as tears run down her cheek. “I needed to stay awake. I´m afraid to close my eyes Twilight.”
