Teaching

Jake looked at himself in the mirror in his room. He was wearing a blue polo shirt and a pair of jeans. He was making sure he looked presentable since it was his first day as a teacher. I'm thankful for Rarity making this all on such short notice. He smiled at her handy work and went downstairs. All the Pokemon were happily eating away as he stepped into the kitchen. Twilight was sitting down with a cup of coffee and her breakfast. Spike was having his breakfast as well.

"Well, how do I look?" Asked Jake

Twilight and Spike looked up at him. Twilight liked how Jake looked. The clothing made him quite handsome. It caused a small blush to come to Twilight's cheeks before she shook it off. One thing she did notice was that he looked ready to march in front of a lecture hall full of students.

"Like a teacher, but you seem to be missing something." Said Twilight

"What, I swore I had everything." Said Jake

Twilight giggled she as used her horn to tie a bow tie around his neck. She then floated up a mirror for him to see. Jake saw the change to his clothing.

"Huh, it does fit. Thanks, Twilight." Said Jake

"No problem, now sit down and get something eat. You have to be at the school in a little while." Said Twilight

Jake sat down and began to eat the pancakes that Spike had made. Spike always impresses me with his cooking. I wonder how well Twilight can cook. Jake just shrugged it off as he continued to eat.

"So are you going to take any of your Pokemon with you." Said Twilight

"Hm, considering Team Catastrophe could appear at any time. I think it wouldn't hurt to have a few Pokemon to help me out." Said Jake

"So you going to take?" Asked Twilight

"Hm." Jake tapped his chin thinking about all the Pokemon he had. "I'll take Braixen, Espurr, and Eevee."

Twilight nodded at his response and went back to eating. Jake did the same. After Jake had finished his breakfast, he collected his Aura Reader and called the Pokemon he was taking with him. Twilight came out and handed him a backpack.

"What's in here?" Asked Jake

"A lunch I packed you and food for your Pokemon, plus a little extra. Now get out of here and have a good day." Said Twilight

"Alright, see you later today Twilight." Said Jake

He placed the backpack over his shoulder and walked out the door with Braixen, Espurr, and Eevee following close behind him. Twilight closed the door behind him. Jake looked at the door before heading towards the school.

Jake found the school pretty easy as he had already been there once. He pushed the door open, and Cheerilee was sitting at her desk looking over some papers.

"I'm here Cheerilee." Said Jake

Cheerilee turned to see Jake. She gave him a genuine smile. "Glad to see you made it. Oh, and you brought some of your Pokemon." Said Cheerilee

"I hope you don't mind." Said Jake

"No, I don't mind. Though if you would introduce me to your Pokemon that'd be great." Said Cheerilee

"Oh sure, Cheerilee meet Braixen, Espurr, and Eevee." Said Jake

"Hello all of you, I'm Cheerilee, the teacher of this school." Said Cheerilee

The Pokemon responded by speaking to her in their native language.

"They sure are interesting. Now Jake let's talk about what your job is here as a teacher." Said Cheerilee

"I thought I was a teaching assistant." Said Jake

"Well, I thought it over last night, and I would prefer if you taught next to me." Said Cheerliee

"Well, if you want me to be a teacher, then I'll do it." Said Jake

"Great, because you're going to teach today." Said Cheerilee

"What?" Asked Jake

"Yes, I want to see how well you can deal with teaching because I might from time to time leave you to teaching the school. So today I want to see if you can do it. But no worries as I have created the lesson plan already. All you have to do it follow it." Said Cheerilee

"I think I can do that." Said Jake

Cheerilee searched through her papers and found the lesson plan. She pushed it over so Jake could grab it and read it over. Seems simple enough. Jake was looking at it and found that most of the day was spent teaching stuff he learned from Earth. But that ended when he found sections about stuff that clearly attached to Equestria. Or maybe not. Cheerilee looked up to see him deep in thought on a few pages.

"No worries Jake. If you need help with anything Equestrian, I'm here. I know you aren't fully knowledged in Equestrian topics as I am. But everything you need to teach today is right there. Just follow it, and you will do fine." Said Cheerilee

"Thanks, Cheerilee. Yeah, that's the only thing that you teach that schools on Earth don't teach." Said Jake

"So Earth has schools as well." Said Cheerilee

"Yes, we humans go to school to get an education just like ponies. We have Elementary school, middle school, and high school. But humans don't get cutie marks, so we go to a school called College. There we learn about the profession we want to enter. It is expensive but worth it when you have a great trade." Said Jake

"So what were you studying?" Asked Cheerilee

"Chemistry." Said Jake

"Interesting, well you should be great when we start studying chemistry." Said Cheerilee

"Well, I'm glad." Said Jake

Cheerilee and Jake had some small talk while his Pokemon sat on the ground. Soon a bell began to ring, and fillies and colt started to come in. Jake swallowed the lump in his throat. But he left a hoof press on his leg. Jake saw Cheerilee smile up at him. He sighed as he knew everything would ok.

"Jake!"

Jake looked to see the CMC coming in. Jake bent down and hugged the three fillies.

"What are ya doin' here?" Asked Apple Bloom

"Oh, I'm going to be teaching here." Said Jake

"You're going to be teaching us." Said, Sweetie Belle

"Well, Cheerilee and I will be your teaching all of you. Now just because we're friends doesn't mean I'll hold back the rules for you three." Said Jake

"We understand Jake." Said Scootaloo

"Great, now go take your seats." Said Jake

The CMC ran off to their seats as Cheerilee came walking up.

"I think I made a perfect choice of hiring you." Said Cheerilee

"Thanks, Cheerilee." Said Jake

Soon the bell rang again, and Cheerilee walked over to the door and made sure no more ponies were coming. She closed the door and began to walk up to the front of the class.

"Good morning class." Said Cheerilee

"Good morning, Mrs. Cheerilee." Said the students

"Now, I would like everypony to give a warm welcome to Jake." Jake waved at the class. "He will be a teacher here at the school. So I now you will all give him the same respect that you give me. Now, why not come up here and introduce yourself, Jake."

Jake walked forward, "Hello class. I'm Jake, and that's what you can call me. Now the creatures behind are my Pokemon. From left to right are Braixen, Espurr, and Eevee. They will be helping me out. Say, hello girls." Each Pokemon spoke in their native language. "Now I little about me. Um, well I'm human and a Pokemon Trainer. I was in college back on my home world of Earth studying to be a chemist. If any of you need to get a hold of me, I live at the library. Now I think we have a few minutes to take any questions you have."

A filly in the back row raised her hoof. Jake pointed to it. "So where's your cutie mark."

"Good question, you see humans don't get cutie marks. You see we go to what's called College. We do four to five years of learning a trade. We take that knowledge and use it in the field we wish to do. Like I said, I was studying chemistry so that I could be a chemist. Now anymore."

Another hoof went up from a colt in the second row. Jake pointed to it. "Were you scared when you fought that strange fox girl."

"I sure was, but I had my partner Pokemon by my side. So I pushed past my fear to fight no matter how hard it is. That's the reason Fennekin evolved in Braixen." Said Jake

"Braix, Braixen."

"I think I can take one more." Said Jake

A filly in the front row raised her hoof to the sky. Jake pointed to her. "So will be a strict teacher."

Jake had to chuckle at that, "Well, in my whole life I wondered what it would be like to answer that question. So I thank you for the question, but here's my answer. As long as each of you tries and attempts everything no matter if you understand it or not, then I won't be so strict. My policy is that if you do the work, then I see no reason why I should get more rigid with my teaching. But if I see that you aren't holding up to the level I know each of you can do. Then I will get stricter. Now, if any of you still have questions, whether about my Pokemon or me, then ask me later. Now, let's get into today's lesson."

Jake went over and grabbed the lesson plan.

"So we start today with English. So I'll write down a sentence on the chalkboard, and I want you to write it down in the correct form. Then I'm going to call one of you out to tell me how to fix it. So let's begin." Said Jake

Jake went throughout the day teaching what Cheerilee had on her lesson plan. Cheerilee watched as Jake taught the class. She smiled as she watched Jake. Espurr was only of Jake's Pokemon that was looking at him. Braixen and Eevee had fallen asleep. After a while of teaching, a bell rang as Jake finished the math lesson.

"That's lunch and recess." Said Cheerilee

The students ran out as Jake sighed. Braixen and Eevee woke up as Jake grabbed his bag.

"Enjoy lunch, Jake." Said Cheerilee

"Thanks, come on girls." Said Jake

His Pokemon followed him out. Jake saw all the ponies playing or eating. He found an empty bench and placed his bag down. Jake pulled out his Pokemon's food bowls and pulled out zip lock bags full of food. He poured the Pokemon food into the bowl and placed them down for his Pokemon. They each sat down and began to eat as he pulled out his lunch. I wonder what Twilight packed for me. He opened the brown bag and pulled out a sandwich. PB&J. He also found an apple and bottle of water. He took a bite and enjoyed the sandwich as he watched over the colts and fillies eating and playing.

Jake kept eating till he heard a familiar sing-song voice call out to him.

"Jake darling."

He turned to see the fashion marshmallow mare come trotting up to him. A warm smile on Rarity's face. Rarity came up to him before he spoke to her.

"Hi Rarity, what are you doing here?" Asked Jake

"Well I was going to ask you something at the library, but Twilight told me you were at the school. So here I am, but first, why are you at the school. And those clothes just look dashing on you." Said Rarity

"Yeah they sure do and thanks for making them on short notice. Now to why I'm here, well because I'm teaching here now, well next to Cheerilee." Said Jake

"Good for you darling, I now understand the need for more professional clothing." Said Rarity

"Yeah, but now to the question you were going to ask me when you went to the library." Said Jake

"Oh right, I..." Rarity was interrupted as three fillies came running up.

"Jake we got something to ask you, hey sister." Said Sweetie

"Hi, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo." Said Rarity

"Well, you three are going to have to wait, Rarity was going to ask me something first. So go ahead Rarity." Said Jake

"Thank you, darling. Now I was hoping for a rematch. Pachirisu and I have been training hard to beat you. So what do you say, want to have a Pokemon battle." Said Rarity

"Oh cool, that's what we were going to ask. We wanted to see you in action again Jake. Maybe even help us to get ready to be trainers." Said Scootaloo

"Well, I believe we still have time. Why not, I could use the fight and the training for my girls." Said Jake

"Thank you, darling." Said Rarity

Rarity and Jake walked out to an open part of the playground. The CMC sat on the sidelines as did Jake's Pokemon. Eevee was snuggling up to Sweetie Belle. Sweetie laughed and stroked the Pokemon. Rarity used her magic to pull out her Poke Ball.

"Go, Pachirisu."

Rarity tossed the ball to reveal the hyperactive electric Pokemon.

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"Espurr, you're going to fight." Said Jake

Espurr walked onto the battlefield.

"Es, Espurr."

"So the 30% rule okay with you Rarity." Said Jake

"Nothing wrong with it with me." Said Rarity

Other students stopped what they were doing and walked over. Jake could see that an audience was growing. Even Cheerilee had come out to see what was going on. Jake decided to speak up.

"It seems we have an audience. I won't be messing up your plans, right Cheerilee." Said Jake

"Oh not at all, in fact, it would be fun to see a regular Pokemon battle." Said Cheerilee

"Alright, so you ready to give a show, Rarity." Said Jake

"As always darling, but know Pachirisu, and I won't be holding back a thing." Said Rarity

"I'm glad because Espurr and I won't be holding back either." Said Jake

"Let's fight!" They both said together.

"I'll give you the first move, Rarity." Said Jake

"That'll be all right with us darling. Pachirisu, Quick Attack." Said Rarity

Pachirisu started to speed quickly towards Espurr. Jake waited for the right time to give his command to Espurr.

"Espurr, dodge." Espurr had moved out of the way before Pachirisu struck her. "Now use Psybeam."

Espurr had raised her ears before a multi-color blast of energy struck Pachirisu. Pachirisu hit the ground before getting back up.

"You ok, Pachirisu." Said Rarity

"Pach, Pach, Pachirisu."

"Perfect now let's show Jake one of your new moves. Electro Ball." Said Rarity

Pachirisu started to charge her ball electricity to her tail, and before long an blue ball of electricity sat on her tail. Pachirisu jumped into the air and spun herself around and launched her Electro Ball at Espurr. Jake didn't have time to react as the attack struck Espurr. A small explosion followed as Jake watched Espurr come sliding back to him. She shook her head and looked up at Jake with the same expression she always had on her face. Pachirisu landed on the ground in front of Rarity.

"What do you think darling?" Said Rarity

"Now that's a move, you must put in some time training Pachirisu for her to learn Electro Ball. But Espurr and I aren't going to let you win. Espurr, Psyshock." Said Jake

Espurr raised her ears as a ball of purple energy formed in her paws. Espurr then took it in one hand before tossing it at Pachirisu. As the attack flew through the air, it split into three small orbs.

"I don't think so, Spark." Said Rarity

Pachirisu started to glow blue before she let out a torrent of blue electricity. It destroyed the attack. But as soon as that attack ended, Pachirisu was lifted from the from the ground in a blue aura.

"Great job Epsurr, now toss Pachirisu back into the ground."

Espurr lowered her paws back towards the ground, and Pachirisu struck it hard. But Pachirisu still got back up.

"I have to give you credit, Rarity. Using Spark to destroy Psyshock was an interesting idea. But it left you open for Espurr's Psychic. And from the looks of it, one more attack from Espurr should do the trick and finish this match." Said Jake

"Don't count us out just yet. Pachirisu, Electro Ball." Said Rarity

"Psyshock, Espurr." Said Jake

They began to charge their attacks, and it wasn't long before they launched them at each other. Psyshock split off into three purple orbs again as Electro Ball came down. The Electro Ball tore right through Espurr's attack. The Electro ball came down towards Espurr.

"Reflect, Espurr." Said Jake

Espurr raised her paws as her ears opened up. A screen of energy came up and blocking the Electro Ball. The attack struck and exploded off the screen of light. Espurr slid back, but Jake sighed as she only took half the damage that Electro Ball could deal Espurr.

"What was that?" Asked Rarity

"Reflect, it raises my Pokemon's defense. So your Electro Ball didn't deal as much damage as if it hit Espurr directly." Said Jake

"Fine enough, Pachirisu, Spark." Said Rarity

Pachirisu charged her fur with blue electricity came running at Espurr. Espurr looked up Jake, and he gave her a thumbs up. Espurr looked back at Pachirisu.

"Now, Psyshock." Said Jake

Espurr charged her attack once again let it go. The energy once again splits into three smaller purple orbs. They went right towards Pachirisu and struck her. Pachirisu was pushed back by the attack, and it caused her Spark to end. Rarity was about to give her next command, but Pachirisu once again was lifted to the sky in a blue aura. Rarity knew it was Epsurr's Psychic.

"Finish it Espurr." Said Jake

Espurr lowered her paws to the ground, and Pachirisu came tumbling down towards the ground. She struck the ground with a cloud of dust coming from the impact area. Pachirisu slowly got out of the crater.

"Pach, Pachirisu."

"It's over Pachirisu darling." Said Rarity

"We won, great job Espurr." Said Jake

"Es, Espurr."

Rarity walked up to her bumped out Pokemon. She started to stroke her head.

"You did great darling." Said Rarity

"That's right, Pachirisu." Jake came walking up with Espurr. "You two gave Espurr and me a challenge. I can see you two are perfect for each other."

"Thank you darling, but know one day, I will beat you." Said Rarity

"That's the spirit Rarity, never give up, no matter the challenge." Said Jake

"Now I think I'm going to take Pachirisu back to the boutique and get her healed up. Goodbye, Jake." Said Rarity

Jake waved goodbye as Rarity trotted off with Pachirisu on her back. He turned to the students who were amazed by the fight. He smiled as he placed his Aura Reader into his pocket.

"Well, kids, that's a Pokemon battle." Said Jake

"Yes, it was interesting. Now everypony back to your seats. It's time for class again." Said Cheerilee

The fillies and colts ran back into the school house. Cheerilee walked back followed by Jake and his Pokemon. Braixen handed Jake his backpack. He reached in and pulled out medicine. Twilight is always so prepared. He healed up Espurr and walked into the school to finish up teaching for the day.

Jake opened the library door with his Pokemon behind him. He opened the back door to let his girls play with others. He then stepped upstairs to his room to change. Twilight came out of her room and smiled at Jake.

"So how was your first day of teaching." Said Jake

"Great, I think I'm going to enjoy being a teacher and thanks for packing some health restoring items. They came in handy after my fight with Rarity." Said Jake

"No problem and welcome home." Said Twilight

"Yeah, I'm glad to be home." Said Jake
