Mega Stones

Jake sat outside munching down a sandwich that Twilight had once again made for him. His Zorua, Buneary, and Kirlia were enjoying their Pokemon food. He was looking over papers that Cheerilee wanted him to grade. He twirled his red pen in his hands and looked over the papers and marked what was wrong. He swallowed what was in his mouth as he placed the final mark on the last paper. He put it in the stack next to him and then into a folder. He then pulled out an apple and started to rub it against his shirt and bit into it. I don't know how Applejack makes her apples so sweet tasting.

He kept munching down the apple as he saw Twilight come walking down with Axew on her back. She came up to him as Axew got off and joined his Pokemon.

"Twilight, what are you doing up here at school?" Asked Jake

"I came to ask you something." Said Twilight

Jake watched as she was rubbing one of her front hooves against the other. Jake raised his eyebrow to Twilight as she began to look away from his gaze.

"So what is it?" Asked Jake

"Um, you see." Twilight sighed before looking at Jake. "Tonight there is going to be a meteorite shower. I was hoping if you would like to come with me and see it."

Jake could see a minor blush on her cheeks. Her blushing face is so cute.

"Sure." Said Jake

"Oh thank you, Jake. See you in the meadow outside of Ponyville. Just look for me." Said Twilight

"Alright see you till then." Said Jake

Axew got back on Twilight's back, and she walked off. Jake watched her as ate more of his apple. He heard the bell ring and gathered all his stuff and headed back to the school to hand out the graded papers and continue the day's class.

Night fell across Equestria, and Jake was walking in the beauty of the evening. He always found that nights in Equestria more beautiful than those on Earth. Jake walked out of the town to a large grassy meadow. He looked around and found a hill. Twilight sat on a blanket with a picnic basket. Jake walked up to her as Twilight was looking up at the starry sky.

"Hi, Twilight." He said

She turned to Jake and smiled. "Thanks for coming Jake."

He sat down and looked around. "So anypony else joining us."

"Nope, it's just you and me," said Twilight with a slight blush.

"So I guess we can call it a date." Said Jake

Twilight stared at him and her pupils shrunk before looking away as a blush came to her face. Jake laughed at Twilight as he began to scratch behind her ear. The scratching calmed her down, and she looked at Jake's smiling face. She always did enjoy his smile and when he scratched behind the ear

"I'm just joking with you, Twilight." He said

She smiled before looking back at the night sky as she saw Jake lay down looking up.

"Jake can you tell me little about your life before you came to Equestria." Said Twilight

"Sure, well it's nothing like I have here. In the beginning, I had a life I enjoyed and loved, but that all ended when I was ten. My parents had begun to argue a lot around that time, but I never found out why. Even when I turned eighteen, they never did tell me why they got divorced. So after about two months of that, my parents were divorced from each other. It was a hard time in my life because I didn't have the happy family I had before. I swore at times I was the reason that my parents split. I would keep myself at night just trying to think of what I did that caused them to hate each other. I grew up visiting my mother every other weekend and some holidays since my father won custody of me. Those weren't fun times in my life and when my mom and dad meet they just fought. I think that was the reason I started to part myself from them. After I turned eighteen, I barely had contact with my parents. I then went to college and kept to myself, didn't have many friends. I think everything that happened to my in my past was probably the major factor that let me come here when Discord asked for my help." He said

"I'm sorry you went through that all." Said Twilight

"Thanks, but in a strange way, I'm happy it happened. If all that hadn't happened I wouldn't be here in this amazing world. I wouldn't have met you and the others. I wouldn't have such great friends. Plus I wouldn't have my dream of being a Pokemon Trainer and seeing Pokemon for real. My past doesn't compare to my current life." Said Jake

"Glad to hear." Said Twilight

"So what about you, what's your story." Said Jake

"Well, I have no idea where to begin. My life has always been a crazy roller coaster of ups and downs. I was a shy filly back in Canterlot who didn't have any friends. The only real friends I had were my brother and my foal-sitter. They were the only ones I considered friends. I remember all the fillies and colts called me a bookworm because I always had my head in a book. My love books always began after I learned to read. I just couldn't keep my head out of books. But I also found a passion in magic after seeing Celestia raise the sun."

"After that day, I started to study up on magic. At first, it was hard to grasp, but I got a handle on it, so much so, that my parents got me a chance to enter Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns. But to get into the school, a unicorn had to perform a magical test. I was so nervous of failing the test that I couldn't show what I learned all those years. But then came this explosion and suddenly magic flowed through my body like crazy. I hatched Spike and made him into a giant version of himself, I levitated the overseers of the test and turned my parents into plants. That's when Celestia came in and settled me down. After I had calmed down, everything went back to normal. Celestia was so impressed with my skills she made me her personal student. That was the day I also got my cutie mark. I also learned that a Sonic Rainboom caused my surge. I later learned that Rainbow had created it. It was also what gave my friends and me our cutie marks and our bond of friendship."

"Well, I went through life with my head still in books. I made some friends, but I never hung out. I stayed glued to books and learning that I never saw a reason to make or spend time with friends. Then the day came for Nightmare Moon's return. That's the day I came to Ponyville and met, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, and Fluttershy. They helped me see what it is like to have friends. That was how I discovered that we each were the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. We freed Luna from Nightmare Moon, and I stayed here in Ponyville."

"Everyday after that, I learned something new about friendship. The girls and I have faced many challenges that tested our friendship, but we always came out on top. Then, in the end, my greatest test came when I had to finish a spell that Star Swirl the Bearded couldn't finish. I switched up my friend's cutie marks and later changed them back, and that's when Celestia granted me alicornhood. I then became the next princess of Equestria. But didn't want to be in a castle away from my friends, so I came back to Ponyville to be with my friends and now learn lessons about how to be a princess, so one day I can be as great as Celestia, Luna, and Cadance." Said Twilight

"Man Twilight sounds like you sure had a crazy life." Said Jake

"Yeah, my life sure has been crazy. But I wouldn't trade it in for anything else." Said Twilight

"Jake I have another question for you." Said Twilight

"Yeah." Said Jake

"Do you have somepony special to you." Said Twilight

"Huh." Said Jake

"You know, love," said Twilight with a slight blush.

"Oh, you mean a girlfriend, nope. Like I said I didn't have many friends back on Earth. Plus I just didn't find that one that felt right. So I have to ask, why did you want to know?" Said Jake

"Oh, I just was wondering if somebody might be worried that they can't find you." Said Twilight

"Nope, I don't think anybody would care if I disappeared. I didn't have any friends I would call close. I separated myself from my parents, and at times made me wonder if they even cared for me. So I bet nobody on Earth even cares if I'm gone or not. I didn't have much contact with my professors because I didn't need them. So it could be said that I was already gone." Said Jake

Twilight placed a hoof on Jake's hand. He had on his stomach. He looked up at her lavender eyes.

"Jake I know I might never understand your life you had back on Earth, but here you are loved. The girls and I care deeply about you. I'm also happy that you came here and I know the kids at Cheerilee's school would miss you with you weren't teaching. I think you didn't have a place back on Earth, but I believe you found your place here on Eques, as a teacher, friend, and Pokemon Trainer. I think you were always destined to come here to Eques." Said Twilight

Jake smiled as he got up. He looked at Twilight. "Thank you Twilight, and yeah I do feel like this is my home."

Twilight smiled but stopped when Jake turned his head and looked up at the sky.

"Turn around Twilight. It's starting." Said Jake

She did and saw many shooting stars coming across the night sky. She looked back at Jake. I'm happy you came into my life, Jake. She scooted herself a little closer to Jake and watched as the shooting stars traveled across the night sky.

"So, today we will be learning the Order of Operations. The Order of Operations is necessary because if you don't follow it, you will get wrong answers. So the order is anything in parentheses, follow by going left to right to find any multiplication and division, and last is that you perform addition and subtract from left to right. Now let's practice. I'll write a problem on the board, and I want you all to copy it down and try. Then I'll call on one of you to give me what you have." Said Jake

Jake took the chalk and started to place down a problem and stood back to let the students write it down and work on it. Cheerilee was grading some homework. But she made sure she was ready just in case Jake needed help with anything related to Equestria. Jake's Pokemon he had with him were Kirlia, Cyndaquil, and Buneary. Once he thought the class had enough time, he spoke again.

"Alright now let's see. Scootaloo, what answer did you get." Said Jake

Ever student turned to Scootaloo, but she wasn't paying attention.

"Scootaloo!" Scootaloo perked up at that. She saw the class looking at her. "Now that I have your attention, what is your answer."

"Answer." Said Scootaloo

"Yes, Scootaloo, the answer to the question on the board I asked every student to copy and do. So do you have a reply." Said Jake

"Um, yes I do." She said

"Ok, then what is it." Said Jake

"Um, two." Said Scootaloo

Jake looked at the problem. The question was 5*(3+3)/2.

"Scootaloo please don't lie to me that you have the answer. Also, pay attention in class. Pipsqueak, do you have a reply." Said Jake

"Yes, 15." Said Pipsqueak

"That's right, now could you tell the class how you got the answer, especially for Scootaloo." Said Jake

Scootaloo sunk in her chair as Pipsqueak told how he got the answer. After Pipsqueak had finished his explanation, the bell rang.

"Alright, class enjoy lunch and recess." The fillies and colts ran out. "Scootaloo before you go, I want to talk with you."

Scootaloo stopped and walked up to Jake. Cheerilee walked out with her lunch to give Jake privacy to talk with Scootaloo. He sat down in his chair and looked at Scootaloo as she sat down on one of the front desks.

"Scootaloo, I don't mind if you told me you didn't have catch what I asked or didn't have an answer, I wouldn't have minded. But to go ahead and give me an answer that clearly is a lie doesn't hold water with me. So now mind telling me what's going on." Said Jake

"Sorry Jake, I just couldn't take my eyes off this stone I found today when I woke up." Said Scootaloo

"Stone, can I see." Said Jake

"You are the teacher." Said Scootaloo

"Scootaloo, I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed you want to lie to me. Now show me this stone. I promise to return it to you." Said Jake

"Ok." Said Scootaloo

She walked back to her desk and opened it up and pulled out a small bag. She walked back and placed it in front of Jake. He opened the bag and out came a marble. Jake picked it up, but he couldn't believe his eyes, in his hands wasn't just a marble or ordinary stone, it was a Mega Stone, which allowed Pokemon to Mega Evolve. It can't be a Mega Stone. He looked at it, and it was a pink stone and inside was a spinning object that had the colors of tan, a dark pink and light pink. It is, it is a Mega Stone.

"Scootaloo, I think you found more than just a stone." Said Jake

"Huh." She said

"You found Audinite." Said Jake

"What?" Asked Scootaloo

"You see in the world of Pokemon. There are certain Pokemon that do something called Mega Evolve. Mega Evolution can only happen when the trainer has a Key Stone, and the Pokemon has its specific Mega Stone. Here we have Audinite, so with a Key Stone, an Audino can evolve into its Mega Evolution." Said Jake

"Wait, Fluttershy has Audino. So she could Mega Evolve Audino." Said Scootaloo

"Yes, but even if Fluttershy has a Key Stone she needs one more component to make it work." Said Jake

"That would be?" Asked Scootaloo

"A strong bond with the Audino. You see Mega Evolution isn't a continual evolution. It only lasts as long as the battle does. But to successfully achieve the evolution, trainer and Pokemon must have an unbreakable bond between each other. When the trainer has a Key Stone, the particular Pokemon their Mega Stone, and an unbreakable bond. Then a Pokemon can perform Mega Evolution. Tell me where you found this." Said Jake

"Outside my house this morning. It was lying in the front yard." Said Scootaloo

Jake just looked at that stone as he brought it up to the light. Mega Stones in Equestria, but how. But even with Mega Stones here unless Key Stones exist, then they are useless. But I wonder if Key Stones are in Equestria. I need to report this to Celestia.

"Scootaloo, I'm going to keep this until Celestia deems what to do with it. If Mega Stones are here on Equestria, it means Key Stones might exist as well." Said Scootaloo

"Ok." Said Scootaloo

"Alright, you can go to lunch but don't breath a word to this to anypony. We can't let Team Catastrophe hear that Mega Stones are here in Equestria. It would make Shadow Pokemon who can Mega Evolve that much worse to fight." Said Jake

"Understood Jake, my lips are sealed. So are we ok with me lying today." Said Scootaloo

"Yes we are Scootaloo, but please don't lie to me anymore, ok." Said Jake

"Ok." Said Scootaloo

She ran to get her lunch and left as Jake looked at the stone one last time. Mega Evolution is coming into reality.

Jake opened the door to the library with his Pokemon coming in.

"Spike are you here?" Asked Jake

He came out of the kitchen. "Yeah, I am."

"Where's Twilight?" Asked Jake

"She said that she wanted to get into some training with Axew. She wants to make sure she's ready just case you need her in a battle." Said Spike

"Understandable, now Spike I need you to take a note." Said Jake

"On it." Spike stopped mid motion and burped up a letter. "Jake, it's for you."

"Well, Celestia must be reading my mind now." Said Jake

He took the scroll and unrolled it. He decided to read it out loud.

Dear Jake,

I send this letter to request that you and the mane six report to Canterlot. Attached to this letter is a set of tickets to ride in the Royal Train Car. You see, last night, a meteor shower passed over Equestria. This meteor shower is the second natural meteor shower to go over Equestria. After the shower, my guard found a strange stone in my garden. I have a slight idea of what it is, but I wish to confirm my suspicion with you. So please came as fast as you can. Signed Princess Celestia

"Sounds like trouble." Said Spike

"Sure does, Spike. Now, Spike, I want you to gather everypony at the train station. I'm going to get the team I want to take and set up everything for the others. Think you can do that for me, Spike." Said Jake

"Sure can." Said Spike

He ran out the library as Jake ran up the stairs to his room. He changed out of his work clothes and grabbed his Pokemon items. He went back downstairs and let his Pokemon into the library.

"Alright, I've got an important mission from Celestia. So I'm going to take six of you with me, and the others will have to stay here at the library. Those I leave, I'll leave enough supplies to make it as long as I'm gone. I shouldn't be more than a few hours. Think those who stay can survive without me, Twilight or Spike." Said Jake

His Pokemon spoke back to him in their Pokemon speech. He smiled as he looked at them. He looked at them and decided on his team. He decided on taking Kirlia, Braxien, Zorua, Cyndaquil, Mareep, and Mienfoo. He placed them in their Poke Balls and set out Pokemon food and water. He made sure they could get outside and then exited the library. He made sure to lock it and off he went to the train station.

The train ride down wasn't that bad. The Pokemon hung out with each other as Jake explained about the Mega Stone Scootaloo found. Jake believed that somehow the appearance of the Mega Stones corresponds to the meteor shower he and Twilight watched last night. Once they reached Canterlot, a group of Royal Guards led them to the castle. Jake walked in the front with the girls following behind. Rarity walked in the back with Twilight.

"So you and Jake had your first date." Said Rarity

"What? No, we were just spending some quality time together," said Twilight trying to hide her blush.

"Oh please darling, I know how you look at him." Said Rarity

"Please Rarity, Jake is nothing more than a friend." Said Twilight

"Oh, is that so. Well, darling, that blush on your cheeks says otherwise." Said Rarity

"This is nothing. You just caught me off guard." Twilight took a breath to calm herself down. "Now listen, Rarity, nothing is happening between Jake and me. I just asked him to be with me as a friend. I wanted to get to know a little more about the human in my home. That was it."

"I'm sure, darling." Said Rarity

Twilight sighed as they reached the castle and were lead through the halls. Jake just looked around as it was his first time being in the castle.

"I have to say. This palace is a sweet place for the princesses to live in." Said Jake

"Yeah, but the best place you should check out is the library. It happens to be the largest in all of Equestria. It happens to be a dream of mine to categorize each book in the library." Said Twilight

"Such an egg head." Said Rainbow

"Nothing wrong with that Rainbow. Knowledge is power as they always say." Said Jake

"Thank you, Jake." Said Twilight

The guards stopped, and another set of guards opened the doors and allowed them into the throne room. Discord was inside talking with Celestia. Celestia's Lucario and Gallade stood by her. The Lucario was meditating while the Gallade stood guard. The guards leading the group stopped, and one cleared his throat.

"Princess, we have brought the mane six and Jake from the train station as you wished." Said the guard

"Thank you, sir guard. You may leave us now. Make sure no pony disturbs us." Said Celestia

"Yes, your highness." Said the guard

The two guards had exited the throne room before Celestia walked down to Jake and the mane six. The mane six bowed as Jake just waved.

"Jake what are you doing. Bow to royalty." Said Twilight

"Please Twilight I've told you time and time again, I don't like friends bowing to me. Isn't that the same way you feel about your friends bowing to you." Said Celestia

Twilight blushed as she rubbed her hoof across her other hoof. Celestia giggled at her ex-students antics.

"So what did you need me to confirm, Celestia." Said Jake

"Yes, Lucario, please be a doll and bring Jake the stone." Said Celestia

The Lucario opened its eyes and walked down to Jake. Jake opened his hand, and the Lacurio placed a stone down in his hand. Celestia's Gallade and Discord came up as Jake inspected the stone. No doubt about it, it's a Mega Stone. The Mega Stone was Gardevoirite. The stone was a pale blue with green, pink and red circling in the middle.

"So is it another Mega Stone, Jake." Said Twilight

"Yes it is, this one happens to be Gardevoirite. When Kirlia evolves into Gardevoir, and I have a Key Stone, then this Mega Stone will make her much more powerful." Said Jake

"So it is as I thought." Said Celestia

"What do you mean?" Asked Jake

"Discord mind explaining this. I have to make preparations for our travels." Said Celestia

She walked out with Lucario and Gallade following close behind her. Jake turned back to Discord.

"What is she talking about?" Asked Jake

"I guess I should tell you what's going on. But for that, I have to say how Pokemon first appeared on Eques." He floated over to a window and looked out it. "You see before you came, Eques was peaceful beside the occasional monster or demon rising from their sleep. But other than that, all the countries were at peace. But five months ago, a meteor shower passed over Eques. Normally this isn't strange since Luna happily can do what she wishes with the night. But the difference here was that this was a natural meteor shower."

"So what's so bad about that? Earth has meteor showers all the time, of course, we don't have a princess who controls the night. But still what's the problem." Said Jake

"The problems is that Luna can control them. But this one came without warning and Luna couldn't control it. Princess Luna has some of the top astrologist working for her to tell of the death of stars, the birth of new ones and when meteors will pass over Eques. But this one was never discovered, it just appeared over Eques and broke apart. A week following it, Team Catastrophe and Pokemon appeared. Then came the fight between Team Catastrophe and Eques. But Pokemon made it impossible to fight back. Every country was now afraid of Team Catastrophe and the new weapons they had. A weapon that no creature of Eques could figure out. With fear of Team Catastrophe being able to conquer our world, Celestia sent me to find a hero. I guess you know what happened after that." Said Discord

"But that doesn't explain what's Celestia preparing." Said Jake

"You see when the first natural meteor shower passed over Eques a strange stone crashed landed in the deserts of Zebrica. But the problem is that stone disappeared within a week of it appearing. But a griffon in Griffonstone happens to know where to find this stone. He is the top researcher of Pokemon and how they came to Eques. So, Celestia has all of us heading to the Griffon Empire to meet him." Said Discord

"Great, I have my remaining team at home with only a days worth of food and water." Said Jake

"No worries Jake. I'll take care of the rest of your team while you travel. I am an all powerful god of chaos. So I'll just teleport myself to Griffonstone when you all arrive." Said Discord

"I guess that work, but I haven't put in a notice to Cheerilee." Said Jake

"Celestia already has that covered. Now, anything else you need to worry about." Said Discord

"Nope, I think that took care of it all." Said Jake

Soon the doors opened, and two Solar Guards came into the room.

"Jake and company, Princess Celestia requires you all at the air docks. The ship is about to leave." Said a guard

"Alright, well it looks like our adventure is heading us off to new lands." Said Jake

"Sure does." Said Twilight

The group followed the guards as Discord just watched. Good luck Jake and safe travels. For I fear that your adventure is about to become that much harder. Discord looked back out the window as he gazed at the horizon that led to the many other countries of Eques. I fear that something new is on the horizon and it isn't Team Catastrophe.

Jake and company stopped at the air docks as they looked at a large boat with a large balloon holding it up. Propellers in the back spun around moving it forwarded. Jake whistled at how cool it was.

"I didn't think Equestria had airships." Said Jake

"Oh we have them, most just happen to be military. We got help from the Griffon Empire to craft our airships. They are the leaders of airship designs." Said Twilight

"Still fantastic knowing that ponies that aren't able to fly can travel across the sky." Said Jake

"Glad you like it, Jake." Said Celestia

They all turned to see Princess Celestia coming towards them.

"Yeah, sure it nice." Said Jake

"Sorry to immediately take you from your homes and throw this at you." Said Celestia

"Hey, no problem sounds like you already had everything planned out. But Discord failed to mention what this griffon is researching that we need to go and see him." Said Jake

"Well, you see he's researching Mega Evolution. For it just so happens he can achieve Mega Evolution with his Sceptile." Said Celestia

"Wait, a griffon has learned to achieve Mega Evolution." Said Jake

"That's right." Said Celestia

"How?" Asked Jake

"Well, you'll just have to ask when we make it to Griffonstone. It shouldn't be more than a three-day flight." Said Celestia

"Well, let's get moving." Said Jake

"Ya seem fired up, partner." Said Applejack

"Of course, this is the chance to move my training forward. I have three Pokemon who can achieve Mega Evolution. If I learn from this griffon how to do it, then I'll be one step ahead of Team Catastrophe." Said Jake

"I agree, let's get going." Said Celestia

The group got on broad, and the guards started to release the ropes holding the ship in place. The guard driving reversed the engines, and it began to move backward out of the hanger. The guards waved as the ship moved around and started to move forward. Jake stood at the front as the air passed over him. He looked at the horizon as he headed towards it. He smiled as he knew that in that horizon was the continuation of his destiny.
