Night Meeting

It was midnight, and a purple mare with a rainbow mane and tail called Rainbow Strike was walking slowly though the castle gardens.

She shouldn't really be here, but she made a promise to her dear friend BurningAxe. He was a male pony with one green eye and one blue. He was the colour of melted chocolate and had a smooth coat to go with it. He and she went well together.

Glancing nervously around, she scanned the bushes and trees. She smiled to herself. He had wings, so he could easily perch herself in a tree. She remembered when she overheard a pale blue Pegasus brag about he did that once to help his friend by stuffing her cat in to a tree.

No Burning there.

Suddenly she heard hoof-steps behind her.

She quickly turned.

"Burning? Is that you?" She guessed.

"No, it is not."

She heard a stern voice coming for her, rather than a pony, it was none other than Princess Luna!

"Princess."

Rainbow Strike kneeled in respect. Luna walked up to the pony and lifted her chin with her silver hoof.

"May I ask what you are doing in the Cantorlot Gardens?" She asked.

Rainbow swallowed nervously. She had to tell the truth.

"I'm waiting for a friend. He said to meet here.."

After a few long seconds, Luna smiled.

"Be careful Rainbow Strike." She warned, "The night holds many dangers."

As soon as she said that, a blinding flash of light, and the princess disappeared.

"Rainbow?"

A male pony asked from the courtyard.

"Are you ok?"

Rainbow Strike sighed in relief and trotted up to Burning Axe, she hugged him tightly.

"I am now."

She replied. The two pony's smiled at one another. Under the moonlight, they kissed lovingly.
