The Last Dreamwalker

Ponyville, Equestria

“Darkstar, time to wake up darling.”

The young colt hears the familiar and sounding voice of his mother sitting next to him in his bed, she was rubbing his head with a smile.

She has the same coat color as her son, but her mane was aqua and dark blue on top, her bright aqua eyes also shined at him.

“Morning Mom.” Darkstar said as he smiles.

“Good morning my little angel.” She says as she gives her comforting smile.

“Is it school today?” Darkstar asks.

“Yes, it is…don’t you have a project to turn in?”  His mother asks.

“Oh…yeah!” Darkstar says as he gets up and grabs the large poster that has drawings and everything.

The pictures showed the starry sky, the moon, and a small grass hill, and shooting stars with him sitting on the hill.

“That’s beautiful darling! Miss Cherilee will love it!” His Mother says as she smiles.

Darkstar smiles and rolls up the poster.

“Now, go get ready and everything and I’ll take you there.” His Mother says.

Darkstar does a playful salute and he walks downstairs and makes himself breakfast.

He then hears someone come downstairs, his father.

Darkstar just keeps looking at his food and eats as he tries to ignore him.

His Dad had a white coat along with a black and somewhat grey spots on it, he also had a small beard, he had a scar across the right side of his mouth and a manticore scratch on his left leg and body.

His father just walked to his chair and sat and he started falling asleep.

Darkstar finished his breakfast and went back up to brush his teeth and grab his backpack.

His mother straightened her hair up long with some small makeup, she then put on a watch and grabbed her bag.

“Mom, I’m ready!” Darkstar says.

“Good boy! Give me a second just putting a finishing touch then we’re out of here.” His mother replies.

She closes her bag and makeup case and she walks out of her room and walks to her son and they both exit the house.

“It better go good.” His father says somewhat slurred.

Darkstar’s Mother looks at her husband and then looks back and walks out with her son.

The two walk to school, with Darkstar’s Mother checking herself in her small mirror case.

“Mom, what did he mean when he said ‘It better go good.’ Seemed like he was talking to you.” Darkstar says.

“He just means that he hopes...you have a good day at school.” His mother says.

“Oh ok.” Darkstar says.

The two arrive at school and see the other fillies and colts play, Darkstar somewhat shakes a little.

“You okay honey?” His mother asks.

“Yeah, I’m okay.” Darkstar answers as he hugs her.

“Well then, you have a good day at school…after your done, just walk home…I’ll be home in a bit.” His mother says.

“Okay, love you Mom!” Darkstar says to her.

“Love you too darling.” She replies.

Darkstar walks off to school with a smile but then after a while, his smile disappears.

He walks through the Playground and sees everyone playing or talking, he then sees three fillies with white coats, black and white manes, and earrings.

Darkstar walks off and goes into the classroom early, he sees Miss Cherilee at her desk.

“Miss Cherilee!” Darkstar says.

Cherilee puts her head up and see Darkstar and smiles.

“Hello Darkstar, did you need something?” She asked.

Darkstar walked up to her desk and he takes out his poster.

“Do you mind if I turn in my Poster now? I’m asking because my backpack isn’t good enough to hold a big poster.” Darkstar says.

Cherilee sees the poster and she was amazed.

“Did you make this yourself Darkstar? This is beautiful.” She says.

“Uh…heheh…yeah, I did…you like it?” Darkstar asks.

“I love it! I’ll make sure this is hung up on my wall!” Miss Cherilee says with a smile.

“Thanks miss.” Darkstar says.

“Oh, Darkstar…where did you get that black eye?” She asks.

“Oh…it was nothing.” Darkstar says.

“Well…okay…if there is anything bothering you…come to me okay?” She says.

“Yes, Miss Cherilee.”

Darkstar sits at his desk with the other students, he listens to the teacher teach the class and he writes down his notes.

He then feels something hit his back, Darkstar stops writing.

Students behind him start chuckling, Darkstar looks down to see a small wrapped up paper under him…he then looks back at the students in the back to have blank expressions.

Darkstar goes back to writing and listening, he thinks about what everyone will think of his poster.

“Darkstar?”

He looks up to see Cherilee telling him to come up, he gets out of his chair and shows the poster to the class, there were a lot of ‘Ahhs’ and ‘Oohs’ in the class, but then he felt a spitball hit him.

Darkstar rubs his cheek to feel it and he takes it off.

“This is basically me in the meadow hills looking at the Starry night sky…I find the nighttime beautiful in my opinion…The reason why I find it beautiful is because, my mother tells me the stars are ponies watching over us and keeping us safe, the moon is where they go once daytime begins. Can you imagine all those ponies up there, watching over us?” Darkstar says.

“Thanks you Darkstar, absolutely beautiful.” Ms. Cherilee says as she claps her hooves.

Darkstar smiles and walks back to his desk.

The bell rings for school to end, and Darkstar walks out with a smile on his face…anyone who did an amazing job today at school, got a prize like: Candy, a toy, etc.

Darkstar walked out with a Pinwheel, he liked how it shined when you spinned it.

“Hey Darkie.”

Darkstar’s smile disappears and he looks to his right to the three ponies from before.

“Nice job today…” One of the ponies said.

Darkstar didn’t answer.

“What’s wrong? Not happy to see us?” Another pony says.

Darkstar starts walking away.

“Hey! We didn’t say you can go!” One of them say and their horn glows

Darkstar is pulled back and he was floating in their faces.

“You should be a little nicer to your friends.” The Pony holding him says.

“I don’t want any trouble today, Sapphire.” Darkstar says as he mentions her name.

“You got some.” Sapphire says, she drops Darkstar and she kicks him.

The other two ponies kick him, and then Sapphire picks up his Pinwheel.

“I’ll see you tomorrow Darkstar.” She says and they all walk away.

Darkstar gets up to see a bruise on his stomach, he sighs and walks back home.
