Black Shadow's (POV)

As I walked away from the barn I could hear one harm hick walk up behind me and she grabbed my shoulder. I stopped and looked at the hand that was on my shoulder. I then looked at the person who it belonged to and no surprise it was her with and angry look on her face. I tilted my head and asked,

"Is there something I could do for ya partner?" I said with my most southern voice possible. I could see her face get redder my the second because of me poking fun at her. "Ya know it ain't right to be mad at someone for no reason. I'm only working here to get some cash."  I knew getting her too mad would be bad so hopefully she will take this bait and ask why I need the cash and like clockwork I say her open her mouth.

"Why did ya need the money and ya know there is less demanding places to work than here? Ya look strong, but I doubt you have to the heart to do this kind of work." She said, also adding, "Because you need to be a tab bit special to work on this farm, and I don't think you have a farming spirit."

"I may not have been raised on a farm, but I cannot pass up a chance like this." I said looking at the off into the endless apple trees. "I have always loved nature, far more so than any person. People are weak willed and so very vain, they disgust me, but nature is strong and fair to all." my voice was filled with a sad warmth as this was probably the most honest thing , I have said in a long time. I could feel her remove her hand from my shoulder.

"What makes you hate people so much? What happened to ya that made ya so cold to the people around ya?" asked Applejack with a sad tone in her voice, but it still held a certain tone that demanded and answer. I sighed and turned around and looked at her straight in the eyes. I could see she was trying to find any deceit in my words. Knowing that lying right now would hurt my plans, I forced myself to tell her a short tale of why I hate people.

"Fine, I guess since we will be working together you should know why I am the why I am. First do you mind if we sit under one of the apple trees?" she nodded. "Okay, thanks." we both walked over to where the trees where and I saw an old looking one pretty far in the back that had plenty of shade on it. I walked over to it and sat down and patted the grass left to me which she obliged and sat down. "Well, I guess you could say I never had a real family. My mother slept around and my father was an alcoholic and my older sisters were off doing something illegal or in jail. I didn't care, because if they were around I would have been beaten by them, I was never comforted by my mother or learned what it means to be a man from my dad. I guess you could say I was doomed to be messed up, but that wasn't the breaking point for me. The breaking point for me was when I was sexually assaulted by my older sister and tied to my bed for there amusement for four days. I still have some of the scars from it to this day. You could say that was the start of my hatred for people and from there it was continuous spiral down the shit hole." I turned and looked at her and saw she was in tears, I guess she had such a loving family that something like mine was too much for her.

"I can't begin to understand your feelings..*sob*..., but know that your welcome to work here and be like an adopted member of the Apple family." I took my left arm and wrapped it around her waist and pulled her into the left side of my chest. I left her release bottle up emotions as she cried on my shoulder. I took my right hand and slowly run the back of her head in hopes of calming her down. In a few minutes she was no longer crying, but unfortunately she feel asleep while unconsciously moving in closer to me. Seeing no other way out I picked her up bridal style and walked back to the house I saw the elderly woman before. As I got the door, I saw my boss standing there with a look on his face that said explain or else.

"She feel asleep after she finished crying, which was because I told her my family story. She must really love and cherish family if my story effected her so much." I said looking at him as he gave an approving nod. "Do you want to take her to that you can put her to bed?" I asked hoping to end this torture and leave already. Sadly my hope was gone when he shook his head no and said,

"Ya can take her, her room is up the stairs and third door on the right, but don't try anything funny otherwise the job would be the least of your concern, got it." said the boss with the tone that promised death if not followed, unfortunately  that doesn't work on me so I simply nodded and made my way inside and up the stairs and down the hall to her room. When I opened her door, I noticed it was filled with family pictures ranging from her early childhood to what looks like right now. I noticed the people that were probably her parents vanished in her pictures after her 6th birthday party picture. So now I knew why she valued them so much.  I placed her in the bed and covered her up and took her hat off and laid it on one of the post at the foot of her bed. After that I left and made my out of the house and down the road with a smirk on my face with what I think was I job well done.

"You know what I think a drink and a late night of partying would be a good reward for all my hard work. I did win over someone people call the symbol of loyalty and pretty much won over the human lie detector. " with that I turned down one of the darker looking streets heading to the slums of the town and straight to my favorite bar "The Prancing Pony". It is a nice place with good music and even better beer. I cant say I ever really remember what happened the last time I woke up after the last time I went there other than I need to find someone by the nickname Nightmare and thank her for the wonderful time last Halloween and ask if I can get some more of that moonshine she had on her.
