More Than Just Sisters

Fatigue at Work

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

All through the night the rain continued to pound on the roof and the lightning continued to flash. By the time morning arrived, the storm was still raging and unfortunately for Flitter and Cloudchaser, they had not got even a single moment of sleep, not a single moment. When they realized it was time for them to get out of bed, it was all they could do to unwrap themselves and get up.

Both sisters were a bit irritated to see the storm raging but especially Flitter. She groaned, "Ugh, it looks like we are going to be the ones to clear this mess out of here."

Cloudchaser yawned, "Ugh....this is one of those moments when I wish we could just call in and get some rest."

While Flitter was in the same mindset, she knew they couldn't. "Cloudy sweetie, I would love it if we could do that too but the weather team is already short-hooved and besides, we need the money."

Cloudchaser sighed, "I know Flittie, I know." She looked at the clock and gasped, "Oh great, we have to be to work in thirty minutes! We barely have time to eat, much less shower and we can't go to work covered in our juices!"

Flitter noticed that like it does at the end of every downpour, the rain intensified further. She suggested, "You know, if we fly just right, with our marehoods facing outwards, the rain may wash it out."

Cloudchaser never was a fan of flying like that and was shocked that Flitter would suggest such a thing given her modesty. She replied, "Well we could, until we get within eyesight of work! We can't have anypony seeing us doing that!"

Flitter said, "Yeah I know, they'd suspect something."

Cloudchaser added, "And besides, I don't want them seeing us like that!"

Flitter nodded and given how late it was, the two simply downed a protein bar and a glass of cider. Once they finished that they headed out the door hoping that the rain would wash them clean.

As they headed off to work, the two flew facing forward, exposing their private areas, but did so very slowly not just so the rain could wash them off, but because they were very tired. Once they got within eyesight of work, they began to fly normally but still did so at a very slow pace.

When the two arrived at work, they were immediately greeted by Rainbow who noticed the two looked exhausted. She asked, "Flitter, Cloudchaser, you two look exhausted. Are you alright?"

Flitter yawned, "Yeah, we're alright. The lightning just kept us awake last night."

Rainbow replied, "Uh-huh. Well hopefully you two will still be able to put all your effort in today. We're still short a couple of ponies and we need to get these clouds out of here."

The two nodded and when the clock hit 0800, the two began to move the clouds away from Ponyville. While most of the pegasi were able to easily push them out, it was all Flitter and Cloudchaser could do to move them.

An hour after they began their shift, the sky was becoming somewhat clear over Ponyville but it was supposed to be sunny down there by 0900. Rainbow was not thrilled that just like they were with getting the rainstorm started, that they were late in getting the skies cleared. What irritated her further is when she found Flitter and Cloudchaser had fallen asleep on one of the clouds that had yet to be cleared away.

She flew over to them and shook them awake. Once they were awake she yelled, "What the hay is wrong with you two? Normally you're my best workers but yesterday you were a bit slow and today you fall asleep just one hour into your shift?"

Cloudchaser wasn't overly thrilled that Rainbow was yelling at them. She sighed, "Look, like Flitter said, we were kept awake by the lightning last night so we didn't get any sleep."

Rainbow asked, "Don't you two have curtains to keep light out?"

Flitter replied, "We do and we did have them shut. The thunder along with the pounding rain just kept us awake."

Rainbow sighed, "Well I normally get to sleep pretty quick when it is raining." She saw the two yawn and continued, "Look, I can tell you two are tired and you're not going to get anything done today so how about you go home." She saw the two smile and continued, "But you'll have to come in on Saturday to make up for it, alright?"

The two of them gave Rainbow a frustrated look and sighed, "Oh alright" before taking off for home.

As they left they made the mistake of flying closer than normal again and Rainbow saw this. She thought to herself, "What the hay is up with those two? Why do they seem to be so 'clingy' here lately?"

When they arrived home they headed to their room and collapsed on their bed. Flitter stretched out and suggested, "Cloudy, I'm thinking next time we have a rainstorm overnight we should try to sleep instead of just have fun." She yawned and continued, "I don't know about you but I'm dead tired."

Cloudchaser too stretched out and sighed, "I know, I know, it is just that what we did last night was so wonderful."

Flitter rolled on top of her sister and suggested, "I know but how about we get some sleep for now, have some fun this afternoon and after supper this evening and then we sleep tonight. We can't be tired at work tomorrow."

The fact that Flitter suggested plenty of fun for the rest of their day made Cloudchaser happy. She replied, "Alright Flittie, sounds good. We'll sleep now but you better be well rested if you don't want your Cloudy dominating you all afternoon and evening long!"

Flitter forced a kiss on her sister before replying, "You dominate your Flittie, in your dreams Cloudy!"

The two gave one another a seductive smile before crawling under the covers and wrapping themselves together before finally falling asleep. Despite all the raunchy plans they had planned for later in the day and the stress from work, the two were easily able to fall asleep.
