Love after the break up

Spike had been running for a while, after leaving the house of his (ex) marefriend, Rarity. He had chosen going to Fluttershy's to talk to her because he considered she could give him the best advice. Although he new she wasn't his friend with most experience on the subject, her honest advice was what Spike needed in a time like this.

Fluttershy was feeding Angel some carrots but she was thinking of a certain purple dragon that was with her best friend Rarity but that she knew had stolen the heart of her other best friend Twilight. She sighed, thinking of the problems that a love triangle like that could bring upon her friends or even herself. She was getting lost in thought when we heard a rather loud knocking at the door.

-"Hey Spike, how are you doing?"- Fluttershy said, then noticing him crying and rushed him inside, hugging him. -"What's wrong Spike, tell auntie Fluttershy everything."-

-"Hello Fluttershy, I'm sorry for coming so suddenly, it's just that Rarity and I had a big fight, and she kicked me out of her house and I had nowhere else to go."- Spike said.

-"Spike I have no problem with you coming, specially if you have a problem, but you have to sit down and explain everything to me."- she replied.

So Spike sat down with Fluttershy and for the next hour he told her everything Rarity had told him. These things included the fact that he spent little time with Rarity, he spend a lot of time with other mares, how he had stopped caring about her career according to Rarity herself, and the fact that the flame of passion had simply died down, and he knew it very well.

-"Spike I'm so sorry that Rarity and you are breaking up. I hope you find happiness again."- Fluttershy said.

-"Thank you Fluttershy, I needed to talk to someone."- he told her.

-"But I have to ask, why come to me, you could even write to Princess Cadence."- she asked him.

-"I wanted some honest, down to earth advice and you were the best choice."- Spike answered. -"Could I stay here tonight, I have nowhere to stay."-

-"Of course Spike, you can stay for as long as you like. If you need, I can talk to Rarity."- she told him.

-"Thanks Fluttershy, please talk to her, but don't worry about me, I'm only going to stay tonight and tomorrow I'm going to Twilight's castle."- Spike replied.

Spike and Fluttershy spoke about a lot of things and didn't mention anything about the fight for the rest of the night. Fluttershy knew that Twilight had feelings for Spike, so when he said he was going to her house she became very nervous, but eventually calmed down.

After Spike fell asleep in her couch, Fluttershy sat down in her garden to think of what had happened in the last few hours. She found it very sad that her best friends had broke up, but found reassuring the fact that they would remain friends. She would have a serious conversation with her friend, but was not angry at her, because not even Spike was angry. She hoped that nothing bad would happen, but sighed knowing that it would never be the same again.

She went to her room and lied down in her bed, falling asleep inmideatly. Spike woke up and thought about Twlight. He fell back asleep, dreaming about the alicorn princess.
