Princess Celestia knew the key to stopping this madness was to wake her sister and stop Nightmare Moon.

Learning of all the important events in Equestria, the perfectly timed moment when both sisters would be in bed, sleeping, oblivious to her plans. She had to latch onto Luna's soul without her realising. By the time she woke in the morning, it would be too late... but Celestia had ruined that! Just as Nightmare Moon had detached herself from Celestia's shadow and opened the window to make her escape, Celestia had woken up. Just in time to spoil everything Nightmare Moon had been planning for months now. But, no matter, she was here now, Celestia outside, and Luna asleep. Nightmare Moon used her magic to to steal into Luna's mind, body. and soul.

Nightmare Moon had already burst into shadow and snuck inside Luna's mind, make her way through Luna's exposed ears, she entered the mind, and proceeded to take control. "Luna!" Celestia cried. "Luna are you okay!?" Luna groaned as Celestia woke her from a deep sleep. "Celestia?, What are you doing here?" Luna sat up. What was her sister doing here in the middle of the night? "Luna, I am sorry, but there is no time to explain, I need you to come with me."
Chalk CirclesView OnlineEverything Happens For a Reason Part One- The ReturnChalk CirclesLuna, still half asleep, followed her older sister through the weaving hallways of Canterlot Castle. Celestia nodded to the two guards on duty outside of the room they had stopped at. "Sister, why have you brought me to the Royal Spell Testing Room?" Luna pondered. Luna swayed and almost fell over. "Tia, I feel very light headed..." Celestia glanced over at her younger sister with a concern on her beautiful face. "No time to explain Luna, you must come inside quickly." Celestia used her magic to open the heavily bolted door. As they stepped inside, she lifted a piece of chalk from one of the many large bookshelves that lined the room. A space had been cleared in the middle of the room and Celestia used the chalk to draw a complicated type of magic-based circle/pentagram thingy.(sorry). Then she gently used her magic to lift her nearly unconscious sister and set her down in the very centre. She the proceeded to summon some red-waxed candles, then set them down in smaller chalk-drawn circles around the larger chalk-drawn circle that Luna was now dozing peacefully inside. Celestia grimaced as she created a spark with her magic, then lit all seven candles at their various placed around Luna. As she lit them, each candle burned bright with a black flame. "I am sorry sister." She muttered, as the last candle was lit.
Unbearable PainView OnlineEverything Happens For a Reason Part One- The ReturnUnbearable PainI am sorry sister... Those words echoed in Luna's subconscious as she struggled to open eyes that were still heavy with sleep. What was her sister apologising about? She had done nothing wrong... But the nagging doubt that she was missing something obvious was what finally made Luna open her heavy eyelids. Luna sat up and exclaimed as she realised was inside a binding circle! A circle used to strip or transfer a pony's magic... The sudden pain that hit her as her sister lit the last candle was unbearable! She arched her back as the pain forced her on to the now almost burning ground. *"No! Stop it! As princess of the night I command thee! Thou shalt release us immediately!" A loud regal-sounding voice rang out. Luna was surprised. That voice couldn't have come from her... that was the voice of... no, it couldn't be... for that was the voice of Nightmare Moon!* Celestia flinched as her younger sister arched her back in pain. She couldn't bear to watch her sister be hurt like this.. but she must! The pain that Luna would feel when the nightmare took over would at very least ten-times worse!

As she looked around her room, she noticed a dark, pony shaped shadow at the foot of the bed... She sat up, the show-pony moved, and quick as a flash it was out the open window. Celestia spread her wings wide and soared out of the open window and in to the cool night air.
Out of the Frying Pan and into the FireView OnlineEverything Happens For a Reason Part One- The ReturnOut of the Frying Pan and into the FireCelestia followed the dark shadow through the weaving pillars of Canterlot Castle. She had followed the shade to the second tallest tower of the castle, her sister Luna's bedroom. Earlier today had been a special occasion, as Royalties from out of Equestria came to visit. Luna ,who was usually nocturnal, had been made to stay awake during the day to have lunch with the Royals. So now, for tonight, she had risen the Moon and just gone to bed. Now just outside her bedroom, the white Alicorn Princess could see that Luna was peacefully dozing away oblivious to the possible dangers just outside her bedroom window.
