Chapter 3: A chat with some tea
Mel entered th vast castle with wide eyes. It was almost as big as the old Aperture facility! Mel tripped head over hooves when she bumped into something. Apparently, the long fall boots were just a prtotype, and only protected jumps from long heights and not little trips like this. She got up to see what she had bumped into, she expected a book or a mopped up section of the floor. But when she looked behind her, she saw a little purple dragon, by all standards this would've normally surprised Mel. But every since she fell from the sky, got turned into a pony, and now in a castle the size of a skyscraper back home, this wasn't as surprising as she thought. Mel then rushed to help the little dragon up, offering a helping hoof.
"Are you alright? Sorry I didn't see you there." replied Mel sheepishly.
"I'm fine. Hey, I don't think I've seen you around here before?" asked the little dragon.
"Oh, yeah...I'm...kinda new." replied Mel.
"I met her in froggy bottom bog, she was in this weird cave that fell out of the sky." said Fluttershy.
"Woah, wait...did this really happen?" asked the Dragon.
What would Mel say? That she was from another dimension, in which she was form another time of that dimension, in a facility thousands of miles below ground? They'd think she was crazy! The dragon still couldn't believe that she'd fallen out of the sky in that small town of Michigan.
"Uhm, I could show you, but I don't think that you'd believe much if you didn't" said Mel rubbing the back of her head with a hoof.
"I'd better go get Twilight." said the little dragon running off into a corridor to the left.
Mel and Fluttershy waited a few short minutes before the dragon came out of the same corridor with a purple alicorn who Mel assumed was Twilight.
"You said she fell from the sky, and doesn't have a cutie mark?" said Twilight to the little dragon.
Twilight looked up to see Mel looking back at her. What Twilight saw was something she'd never seen before. Her eyes were new, like she was born a full grown mare. It seemed impossible, yet, here she was.
"Hi, my name's Mel...I believe you're Twilight?" asked Mel staring weirdly back.
"Yeah...I normally only do friendship problems, but I think this's pretty serious. Do you know where your home is or what happened before Fluttershy found you?" asked Twilight.
"What would she say if I said I was from another dimension?" thought Mel to herself.
"No...it's kinda foggy." replied Mel very unsure of herself, like she wasn't entirely sure what she said was right.
"I think Princess Celestia should see you. She'll be able to help with both your memories and find your home." replied Twilight a little bit skeptical about Mel.
"Who's Princess Celestia?"
Author's Note
Finally, the third chapter. Sorry it took me so long. I kept of re-editing the rough draft I wrote and this's the final result.
Chapter 1: A Gateway to a New World
Author's Note
This's my first chapter and forst time ever making a Portal related story. I think I'm even the first to do a Portal Stories: Mel type of story. But I seriously reccomend playing the game before reading the rest of this. So please enjoy!
Chapter 1: A Gateway to a New World
Mel stepped out into the golden sunlight of Upper Michigan. The small town had become ruins in the time Mel had been alseep in the relaxation vault.
"How long have I been asleep?" wondered Mel.
She took another step onto the grassy and cracked concrete of the aged sidewalks. But far down below, where Mel had just left, the old Portal Gun Mel had incinerated had become unstable. This was a prototype of the ASHPD, back when Cave Johnson was working on it in the 1970s. The black hole had been released and destabalized, opening a small rift in two different universes. A large blue portal opening just below the town where Mel was standing. Up above, the ground began to rumble deep under Mel.
"Was the facility powering down?" asked Mel to herself.
But this couldn't have been a simple shut down from below, and earthquakes weren't common in the region of Michigan. The whole city becan to sink into the portal below. But Mel knew this wasn't anything ordinary, seeing the blue ring starting to rise around the town. But when the ring touched her feet, she felt like her feet were burning and beeing mended into a different shape. She rappidly searched for higher ground. She began to rapidly climb the Aperture Science Innovators statue near by in hopes of being able to escape. But she had no Portal Gun, no gels, and worst of all...no Virgil.
Virgil had been her greatest friend in the quest to get out of the facility. She wondered what he was doing now. But it was too late to try and escape, once the blue ring had touched her back, her spine gave a sharp pain, and then she blacked out.
