The sky grew darker, painted blue on blue, one stroke at a time, into deeper and deeper shades of night as I gently rose the beautiful moon. I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night. Soon, the majestic moon was high in the sky, the rivers of water beneath it glistening under the moonlight. That was the cue for me to proceed to my bedroom and prepare for my deep slumber.

My eyes snapped open to the dreadful sound of loud thunder. I tried to stand up but I felt a jolt of pain shoot through my front left hoof. I looked around. Everything was strangely very familiar but I was no longer in my bedroom at the Canterlot Castle. Instead, I was on a pile of hay in the middle of a violent thunderstorm.

A loud, ear piercing scream filled my ears. I winced, and tried to cover them with my hooves. All of a sudden, I felt the ground beneath me shake. A herd of ponies rushed by me, some carrying crying foals and fillies with them and some wailing and screaming. They were all bruised and blistered, some had deep cuts on their hooves, with blood oozing out. My jaw dropped after seeing these ponies. Not because of their condition, but because of how familiar they looked to me.

"Luna?" Squeaked a voice.

That voice...

"Tia?" I turned around slowly, not exactly sure what to expect.

"Luna, we have to find Mom and Dad." A little alicorn filly, who looked no older than 6 or 7 years old, told me. She had large pale, light greyish magenta eyes and a snow white coat. She was with no doubt my elder Sister, Celestia. Except...she was a young filly.

I felt a sudden pang of mixed emotions. Confusion, devastation, nostalgia, panic and pain. A single tear sheds from my right eye. I remember. I remember the war. I remember the struggle. I remember the survival. I remember loosing my parents.

"Come on! We have to find them!" Celestia squeaked once more, her face wearing a worried expression while she tugged on my small, dark blue hoof.

No matter what she did, I stood rooted to the ground. The feeling was all too familiar.
