Twilight's POV

I was in the middle of gathering the rest of my equipment for locating, an odd signal of a unique unidentified form of magic near Ponyvile. That I had picked up a few days ago, after I had returned from visiting Princess Luna in Canterlot. "Spike, are we all set?" I asked, as he walked into the room carrying a fully packed backpack three times bigger than his size.

"Um.. Twilight, don't you think this is a little much?" he inquired, struggling to keep standing.

"Spike of course not, it's not everyday that a new form of magic suddenly appears out of nowhere! Besides I will need to analyze every millimeter of the source, and everything in there is vital for to do so" I informed Spike, as he sighs in response. "Now where did I misplace my saddlebags?" I inquired before a loud boom echoes through the castle.

"Twilight!!" Fluttershy's fearful voice bounced off of the walls of he hallway into the room. I quickly trotted out of the room heading towards the entrance to find what is wrong with Fluttershy.

Entering the main hall, I found Fluttershy dragging Silver along towards me. "Fluttershy what happen, what's wrong?" I asked trying to figure out what was wrong, then the glare from Silver's mask caught my eye.

"Twilight I need your help, Silver's mask started glowing while at Rarity's and now he's in terrible pain!" Fluttershy cried deeply worried about Silver, as Silver held his temple with both of his hands.

"Please, follow me to the Library. My magical equipment is in there" I told her as I trotted off to the library, with them close behind. 'This must be some sort of magic spell right, if that's the case then who would do such a thing? I have a bad feeling about this'

Entering the Library, I opened up the large backpack of equipment that was for studying the strange source and pulled out the magical reader and the magic detector. To locate the source of the magic on Silver's body and to scan to see what kind of spell is on him. "Okay please hold still Silver, this should only tickle" I assured, as I aimed the magic detector at Silver.

The glow from Silver's mask grew as the device pinpointed the exact location of the magic that is on his body. Confirming that it was indeed on the mask. 'So its in his head, good thing we established the location' I then pulled out the Magical reader to find out what spell was placed on him.

My eyes widen in both shock and awe. The magical source that I was going to look for was in his head this whole time. "T-twilight is something wrong?" Fluttershy inquired in a worried tone.

It seemed just like everything else about Silver, the spell is both odd and mysterious. "The spell put on him is... well, um... never been recorded before, Fluttershy. I'm afraid I don't really know what is the cause of it, however the device does show a similar pattern to a known spell; Despite the unknown form of magic. There is a chance that the original owner of Silver, cast a spell onto him way before they got separated and have now just started to deteriorate" I explained, looking at the readings and then to Fluttershy.

"W-what spell and can you remove it?" Fluttershy asked, looking back at Silver who now slightly calmer than when he was before.

"Well the spell is similar to that of a ... what the hay? Its a spell to alter his appearance, someone must of either messed up a crying spell or they wanted him to look very different. Okay then this spell should not be too hard to remove then, I just need to enter Silver's mind to clear the spell from his head" I informed, knowing that I hate entering minds.

"Enter his mind, like how Princess Luna does. I thought only she could do that and that it works on only sentient beings when they sleep?" Fluttershy inquired confused at subject.

"Luna taught me how to enter ponies minds, the last time I was at Canterlot and technically the spell works on any species, however it is commonly used on ponies because they are more magically conected. Humans, animals and other Species like Griffons not so much, so I would need to tweak it to enter his mind while he is still awake" I informed, as I readied the spell and aimed my horn at Silver's head.

Entering Silver's mind was not at all what I expected. I thought, I would have found the source inside of his head within a few seconds. However that doesn't seem to be the case anymore, for a human he has an enormous space. "I can not see anything with this fog in here. How come there is a fog anyway?" I asked myself, as I walked through the fog.

Suddenly I saw a pair of light in the distance. One red similar to the glow from Silver's mask and the other of a white light. As I came closer I noticed that the red one was glowing brighter each and every second, while the other was becoming dimer. "This has to be the cause of Silver's pain, but what does this one do?" I asked myself, looking from red to white light.

"Perhaps its the spell that is keeping the mask bounded to Silver's head?" I pondered, as I watch the light sources closely. I channeled my magic to strike the light sources all at once, before swiftly blasting towards the light sources. Upon contact my strike was stopped mere centimeters from them, before the white light moved out of the way and my strike unfreezing and blasting the red light.

"What just happen?" I asked, as the white light disappeared from my vision; leaving me alone in the dark and cold fog.

"Hehe, good question Twilight Sparkle or Should I call you Princess Sparkle?" a voice menacing voice inquired, sending chills down my back. I opened my mouth to speak, but was stopped before could utter a letter. "Save it, I don't care. Heh, you know what is hilarious? That you came in here to stop a headache, but ended up kicking out a bloodthirsty monster that preys on death and destruction. Wanna see what will happen now?" the voice explained, as millions of red eyes shined from within the fog.

When Twilight entered my mind, I was worried that she would end up discovering my identity. However that soon changed when my felt the pain cease. For a second everything felt like it stopped, but then I was launched into the bookshelf imbedding in the wall. "Silver!" I heard the words escape Fluttershy's breath.

My body was starting to feel numb, I was losing my breath, and while my vision started to become a blur, the shadows of the damned returned. For some reason I felt like I should feel guilty for them, but for what? "We.... kn..ow... Y...re... Si...ns...s" The deformed black liquid figures spoke, as they lurched in weird movements.

"Thom...as why do you torture us so?" a familiar voice cried from the monsters. It was... her, my wife. I was speechless, my eyes were playing tricks on me or someone was, my wife as long as everyone else that I ever knew is dead. It couldn't be her. "Wait, no. You're not my Thomas, you just look like him. My Thomas is human" her voice spoke like daggers as one of the creatures formed slowly to take up her image.

Before I could say anything, Fluttershy brought me back into reality by gently slapping my face with her hoof. "Are you alright..." she stopped in mid sentence to check on Twilight ,who was standing still with her horn glowing unfazed by the commotion. "Thomas?" she continued.

"I'm... fine, I guess. I just didn't expect to be sent flying into a wall. Um... well at least my head doesn't hurt anymore, did my eyes stop glowing?" I asked as, the mask began to crack down the middle.

"Thomas, are you sure that you're fine?" Fluttershy asked, suddenly everything went dark. "Eep"! Fluttershy's voiced squeaked, from within the darkness. "W-why did everything go black?" Fluttershy scare fully asked.

"I-I don't know, but I have a feeling about this" I replied, having a strange feeling that Light was somehow involved in this. Before anything else could be said, the blackness left; leaving the room in a dark and gloomy atmosphere.

"Aaahhh!!" yelled Twilight, as she awoke from her spell. Her breathing was heavy and sweat was covering her face. 'Something she saw petrified her, something in my head... my memories of the war perhaps or something worse?'

"Fluttershy we have to warn everypony in town at once, something truly evil is coming to Ponyvile!" Twilight warned, as she pulled open the doors of the Library and ran out. Fluttershy and I looked at each other before we followed in pursuit after her.

"Twilight what is coming?" asked Fluttershy afraid of the unknown danger.

Spike came out of a room, which I assume to be his room; with a comic book in claw. "What's with all the ruckus?" he inquired, which he instantly regretted when Twilight picked him up with her magic and headed towards the castle's main entrance.

"I have no time to explain except for that, there was something hiding inside Silver's head. I accidentally released it and now its released somewhere within Ponyvile!" she exclaimed, as we noticed that it was getting extremely dark outside. Which was strange, since it was at least mid day. "Its here" she continued.

We rushed outside to see what was happening, and it seems that it wasn't just us who went to see. It looked like the whole town stopped everything and looked up in both awe and fear. Suddenly a bright red light appeared in the dark sky, followed by smaller red lights.

'What is that?' I asked myself feeling, like I've seen this before. "W-what is that?" Spike had finally spoke , breaking the silence that grew after our exit.

"We have too evacuate everypony now, Fluttershy I need you to lead ponies out of town. Once the town's evacuated, we'll meet up at the tree of harmony with the rest of the elements. Go... I'll distract it for as long as I can" Twilight commanded as she flew up and fired into the red light. Causing a loud booming cry of pain to echo from the light, which it struck back with a ray of red light towards Twilight who blocked it with a shield; sending it to a building disintegrating it within a second. "H-heh, come on lets fight Pony" the voice growled.

Spike and Fluttershy had already left to evacuate the ponies, leaving me alone. Fluttershy must've been carried away by current events that she left me here. 'I need to move, I don't want to get harmed by this thing' I told myself before, I was overcome by a familiar feeling. "Light?" I asked, looking for him in any possible reflective surface.

Suddenly I felt someone grab my shoulder, making me jump. "Thomas you cannot out run him, he will win if you do" Light spoke, as I turned to face him. "Light you're" I began before he put his finger up against my lips"Yes, I am physically real... for now at least. You... no, we need to defeat him Thomas" Light said leaving me speechless.

"Come again?, you want me to fight that... what ever that is? and if you ask me Twilight has it handled" I yell, gesturing towards the glowing red spot in the dark sky. He slapped me against my face "The hell, what was that for?" I inquired. "Thomas her attacks on him is equal to that of a slap to the face. Crimson is only playing with his food, if we are to beat him then you must trust me" Light informed.

I looked up to see Twilight send a few more blasts into the light, for more red light rays to fire onto her. Which she tried to block with a shield, sending the light rays towards nearby ponies who barely lucked out from the blast. "..Okay, what's the plan?"

Twilight fired out once more towards the red light hoping that, what she was doing was really doing something against it. Before the shot could enter the red light, it suddenly froze and evaporated. "This is the end of our little game now" It spoke like two boulders grinding against together.

Twilight watched as the red light and the darkness around that engulfed it formed a dragon's head. She tried to utter a word, or even tried to fire once again at the living nightmare in front of her; but she was too petrified to do anything other than watch and flap her wings in horror. "What did you thought you could be their little hero?, did you think you could save them? it chuckled as she finally looked away towards the other side of Ponyvile. "You do have to give it to me, I did put on a good show for your town" it continued, as its face turned towards the other side of Ponyvile.

Everypony that was running towards the edge of town, stopped in their tracks as they noticed the darkness touching the edge of the town. Another dragon's head appeared and went in for a bite. It barely missed biting an inch of Lyra's tail, and before the head broke off into two separate clawed arms reaching for ponies.

Everypony was scattered, running all around Ponyvile desperately trying to avoid the heads and claws of the dark monster. Fluttershy was dashing towards town hall but was stopped, when she was joined up with Rarity on her way there. "W-what do we do now that the whole town is b-blocked off by the darkness?" Fluttershy inquired of Rarity.

"I don't know, but we have to keep moving darling. We don't want to end up like the humans, poor things couldn't out run the monster" Rarity explained as they ran into a back alleyway, to rest for a moment.

"..."

"Fluttershy?, what is it?" Rarity inquired, looking upon Fluttershy's wide eyed look.

"Th-m Silver!, oh sweet Celestia I hope he's okay. I completely forgot about him, oh no w-what if he was... was" she cried unable to finish, as she looked towards the burning town.

"I-I think he's doing just f-fine darling. I'm sure of it" Rarity lied, giving a reassuring smile. Which seemed to help, brighten Fluttershy's mood.

Twilight was thrown into the a nearby building. Her shield was unable to protect her from the blast that it originally sent out, proving that the monster was indeed only humoring her from the very beginning of the fight. "Those silly friends of yours wont help you no more. They're burn to dust like all of mine have, come on give in little pony" It spoke as a tendril of darkness moved in to finish the fight.

Suddenly without warning Twilight disappeared and reappeared just outside of the black cloud-like dome that encased Ponyvile. "W-well, well, well, it seems that you're finally facing me Light" Crimson spoke as he looked around, eventually spotting Thomas. Who was slowly walking towards him.

"Well, this is a surprise indeed. I suppose you didn't think of this Suicide mission alone did you? I mean you were just weak, not stupid" Crimson inquired, as some of the darkness began to take form of something sinister.

"You're efforts are bound to fail Crimson" Light's voice cried out, as Thomas's hands started producing small orbs of white light. Which caused Crimson to stop in his tracks as he finished his form of a mirror copy of Thomas, but made up of dark and faded colors.

"I see, you have complete control of him now. Don't you?" Crimson inquired stopping his destructive chaos onto the town. "Well, I would be dumb if I said I didn't see that coming. However, I don't see the use of facing me, you don't have enough Space energy to defeat me. I however, have plenty to go on. So much so, you could say that I'm well fed" Crimson remarked, raising his hand towards Thomas with a smirk.

"Goodbye" he said calmly, as red light fires from his hand striking Thomas. Vaporizing him within a second, leaving only ash and a silver mask. At first Crimson grew joyous over destroying Light and Thomas all at once, he went into an uproar in laughter; where everypony still trapped inside heard, but the feeling of joy quickly settled, leaving only confusion and uncertainty. "WAS IT REALLY THAT SIMPLE?, WHY WASNT IT THIS SIMPLE WHEN I RIPPED APART THE EARTH!!" he roared throughout the dark dome.

From outside the shadows that encased the town, hundreds of Royal guards encircled the town keeping a lookout for anypony that might escape from the shadow. Princess Luna along with Starswirl the bearded and the other Pillars except for Stygian who was still on his way, stood outside the darkness on top of a nearby hill peering into the darkness.
"Is there anyway this could still be the shadowpony?" Luna inquired, peeing into the dark void.

"It couldn't be, the shadowpony was banished to limbo. The only way it could be it is if somepony had unleashed it and no one except for Twilight, her friends and us know about it. This has to be something else, something different" Starswirl explained, looking towards the other pillars before returning his gaze back to Princess Luna.

A Royal guard approached the Princess with a stern face. He was Lieutenant Cando, a new rising military leader who helped reshaped the Guard after both of the Changeling invasions. He gave a light bow to the Princess before speaking. "Your majesty, we have just received word that Princess Twilight has been located just outside of the barrier. She is in severe condition, whatever is going on in there its bad" the guard informed.

Luna looked at her Lieutenant and opened her mouth to speak but was silenced by a loud growl coming from within the shadow. Just then the overall size of the shadow dome that covered all of Ponyvile, shortened freeing only a few ponies.

That was when a bright light appeared from behind them. When they turned to face the light, they were faced with a human being. It was a male with dark brown hair, and eyes of a grayish color. It was wearing a black silky fabric around his body. Everypony looked upon him with both curiosity and shock.

"A human?, where did it come from?" Starswirl asked, as Luna looked over towards the human. She couldn't help but feel a unnerving sense of sadness as she gazed upon it.

"That is the least of our problems, we need to find a way inside. Lieutenant, you said Twilight is in severe condition right?" Luna asked, getting a confirmation from the Lieutenant in the form of a nod. "Well then we must find a way inside at once. Whatever is going on in there, Twilight couldn't handle it herself which makes me wonder what evil thing could be the cause of this" she continued, once again looking upon the darkness that engulfed the town.

"Pure hate" a calm unemotional voice spoke silencing everyone. It did not sound like everyone else's voice it had a Trottingham accent, which none of the pillars nor the Lieutenant had. Everyone turned back to face the only other thing with them the human. "Greetings ponies" it spoke again causing everypony to gasp in shock.

"Hrm, perhaps I should have started with something more simpler, either way. We don't have time for this Princess..." the human looked over towards the Princesses flank and study the cutie mark for a sec before continuing "Luna, we need your help to weaken Crimson enough for me to deal the final blow" he explained, causing everyone to snap out of their state of shock and wonderment.

"How are you able to speak?, humans lack the brain to talk. This shouldn't be possible, but let it is" Starswirl explained, trying to process this information like everypony else.

"We do not have much time, Crimson is currently absorbing the magical essence of ponies in Ponyvile. My friend and I was able to prevent him from absorbing the rest of Twilight's magical essence by teleporting her away"he stated calmly, bringing everypony back to the issue at hand.

"How do you and your friend suppose we weaken this mon... Crimson as you call it?" Princess Luna inquired. She couldn't put her hoof on it but something about this human reminded her of somepony or perhaps of something, but who or what?

"Crimson is similar to that of a fire, his fuel consists of energy or in this case the magic of the town ponies. His anger burns this energy source, if you are able to anger him enough he would burn through his energy quickly. Once out of energy he will become weak enough for me to permanently erase his physical form for good" he replied, as part of him started to phase out. "It seems my time is up, and do hurry Princess" he replied before disappearing from their sight.
