By today's standards "Ted" would be considered "Special". And do to the military's need for super soldiers, they decide to test out a very experimental "Item", followed by a series of inhuman test on Ted. A week into testing and the military aren't getting the results they wanted, and decide to terminate the project, along with Ted.

But not after testing one more "Item" on Ted. This "Item" is meant to transport supplies, and reinforcements anywhere on the battlefield… although they did not get the result's they were hoping for, at least they didn't have to worry about getting rid of Ted.
