“In this corner, we have the fantastic Judy Hopps! And in the other corner, we have the fashionista who you all know and love, Rarity!!!”, PVZBrony announces. “Let the game... BEGIN!!!!!”, he excitedly yells into the microphone.

Rarity- 4000 LP
“My turn! I draw! And I play Gem-Knight Fusion!!”, Rarity says. I gasp. She’s a Fusion specialist! “I fuse the Gem-Knight Garnet with the Gem-Knight Lapis to create the Gem-Knight Ruby!”, Rarity announces. “Shine, my gems, as you combine into the crimson red Gem-Knight Ruby!”, she chants.
Gem-Knight Ruby LV5 EARTH Pyro/Fusion 2500 ATK/1300 DEF
“I play a card facedown and end my turn!”, Rarity tells me. “My turn! I draw!”, I say. I look at the card I just drew... it’s Polymerization! “You’re not the only one who can Fusion Summon, you know! I’m playing Fluffal Wings in Defense Mode, and play Polymerization to fuse Edge Imp Sabres with Fluffal Cat! Claws of the demon and body of the cat! Fuse yourselves together to create the most frightful tiger, Frightfur Tiger!!”, I chant.
Frightfur Tiger LV6 DARK Fiend/Fusion 1900 ATK/1200 DEF
“That ugly cat doesn’t have the fangs to destroy my Gem-Knight!”, Rarity points out. “But I can destroy as many cards as the number of Fusion Materials that I used for Frightfur Tiger! Now your field is wide open! Plus, Frightfur Tiger gains 300 ATK times the number of Frightfur and Fluffal cards on my field!”, I explain.

“Frightfur Tiger! Attack Rarity directly! Frightfur Bite!”, I order my monster.

“I play one card facedown and end my turn!”, I tell Rarity. “My turn! I draw! And I play Fusion of the Dead! I banish monsters in my Graveyard to Fusion summon one monster from my Extra Deck to craft the most perfect gem warrior, Gem-Knight Master Diamond!!”, Rarity counters.

“Now, Gem-Knight Master Diamond! Give that deranged pussy cat a proper whipping!”, Rarity orders. Frightfur Tiger is destroyed.

***Third Person POV***
“Hey, Ben, why didn’t Judy activate that facedown card?”, Nick asks Ben. “I don’t know. Maybe she didn’t activate it because she couldn’t!”, Ben says. “Yeesh, don’t explode before your first Duel! If I know Judy, that facedown card she has on the field is Polymerization.”, Nick says. Ben nods his head. “You’re probably right.”, he sighs.
***Back to Judy’s POV***
“My turn! I draw!”, I curtly say. I drew the Edge Imp Saw! Brilliant! “I’m activating my facedown Polymerization to fuse Edge Imp Saw with Fluffal Wings and Fusion Summon Frightfur Leo!”, I exclaim. “But you activated Polymerization on your last turn!”, Rarity protests. “But I used Fluffal Cat for the Fusion Summon that turn, letting me add Polymerization from my graveyard back into my hand!”, I smirk. “Frightfur Leo uses his special effect! Once per turn, I can destroy one monster that my opponent controls, and inflict damage equal to the destroyed monster’s ATK points!”, I explain.
Rarity: 1500 -> 0 LP

“Great job, Carrots!!”, Nick cheers. “Thanks!”, I shout.

“Lightning Dust, it’s time to Duel!”, I challenge her. “I can see the future... I see you losing!!”, she cackles. I hesitate for a moment, then shake my head. “Talk is cheap! Let’s Duel!”, I yell. “Your efforts will be in vain!”, she challenges back.

I look at my hand. Yes! I have my Odd-Eyes cards and 2 Dragunity monsters! “Predict this, Lightning Dust! I’m using Odd-Eyes Persona Dragon and Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon to set the Pendulum Scale! I can now summon monsters with levels 2 through 7 all at the same time! I Pendulum Summon Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Dragunity Darkspear, and Dragunity Tribus!”, I announce.

“I end my turn!”, I say. “Fufufufu... your attempts are futile. I’m playing the Prediction Ritual to Ritual Summon Prediction Princess Tarotrei!”, Lightning Dust cries.

“Now, I end my turn!”, Lightning Dust says. “Ggg... my turn! I draw!”, I say. I drew the Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon! If only I had my Advanced Ritual Art in my hand, I’d have a fighting chance. But I don’t have it in my hand right now! “I’m tuning Dragunity Darkspear with Dragunity Tribus in order to summon Herald Arc of the Green Light! Now, I’m tributing it to add a Ritual Spell Card from my deck into my hand!”, I tell her. “And now, I’m Pendulum Summoning Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon from the Extra Deck!”, I announce. “Next, I’m playing Advanced Ritual Art, sending Black Magician from my Deck to the Graveyard in order to Ritual Summon Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon!!”, I continue.

It negates your attack and Sets itself again!”, I counter. “I flip Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon face-up!”, I tell her. “I activate Tarotrei’s effect, flipping Odd-Eyes Gravity Dragon face down once again!”, Lightning Dust responds.

Chapter 5- Duel #4: Ben, Nick, Judy, and Ethan VS The Dazzlings! (Ethan’s POV)
“Ethan! Snips and Snails were disqualified from the tournament for being too stupid to actually play. That means you’re automatically in the next round!”, PVZBrony enthusiastically tells me. “So, who am I facing in this round?”, I ask him. “This round is a special round. You and your three friends will be facing the Dazzlings!”, he says. My stomach lurches. “The Dazzlings?”, I ask in horror. “Yes. Your duel starts in 5 minutes!”, PVZBrony responds. Why would the Dazzlings, a music band, be in a Dueling tournament? I can’t waste time thinking about it, though. The match begins!

“My turn! I draw!”, Aria says. “I play the Magic Card, Gift of Friendship! It lets me give a card in my hand to my opponent! I’m giving you my Odd-Eyes, Ben!”, she says, before walking over to Ben and handing him a card. “Consider this an early prize. Be careful, though. The other Dazzlings play to win, and if you lose, bad things will happen.”, Aria warns. “I end my turn.”, she says. “Aria, what the hell are you doing? You were supposed to get a Fusion card on the field!”, Adagio scolds. “My turn! Draw!”, Nick yells. “I’ll use Performapal Trampolynx and Performapal Lizardpaw to set the Pendulum Scale, and play Pendulum Shift, making Trampolynx’s Pendulum Scale value 1! Now I can Pendulum Summon monsters with levels 2 through 5! My monsters are ready... TO SWING INTO ACTION!!! I Pendulum Summon my 2 Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenixes and Performapal Cheermole! Now, I tribute one of my Odd-Eyes Light Phoenixes to increase my other Phoenix’s ATK by 1000! Next, I activate Cheermole’s effect to increase Phoenix’s ATK by 1000 again!”, Nick announces.

Aria starts screaming in agony. “AAAAAUGH!!”, she cries. She then drops to the floor, unmoving. “Worthless brat.”, Sonata sneers. “What just happened?”, Judy demands. “This is no ordinary Duel... it’s a Shadow Game!”, Ben yelps. “Right you are, fool! The rules of this Shadow Game is that if your Life Points reach zero, you DIE!”, Adagio cackles. This is life or death! “Nani?”, Ben gasps. “I play a card facedown and end my turn!”, Nick uneasily says.
Judy: We’re facing off in a Yamino game against the Dazzlings! Adagio uses the power of the Rainbooms to perform a Summon that Ben’s never heard of, Spectrum Summon! And Sonata’s really bringing the heat with her Composition Monster, Ash-Eyes Inferno Dragon!
Nick: Judy, are we gonna make it out of this Duel alive?

It allows me to complete the Spectrum Wheel by sending seven monsters from my Deck to the Graveyard, each with a different attribute!”, Adagio announces. “Spectrum Wheel?”, Ben asks in confusion and shock. “Now, by paying 400 Life Points times the Wavelength of my monster, I’m allowed to Spectrum Summon!”, Adagio grins evilly. "Radiant light of the rainbow, combine your seven colors and create a new power! Come forth, Monochrome-Eyes Spectrum Dragon!!”, Adagio chants.
Adagio: 4000 -> 2100 LP
Monochrome-Eyes Spectrum Dragon Wavelength 7 Wyrm/Spectrum/Overlimit 2500 ATK/2000 DEF
“Woah! That card’s pretty strong!”, Ethan exclaims. “Now that your turn has ended, Nick, Phoenix isn’t strong enough to beat her dragon!”, I worriedly warn him. “Even if it was, my Spectrum Dragon can destroy any monster it battles with!”, Adagio counters. “Impossible! I doubt that’s even a real card! I’m the master of Summoning, and I’ve never even heard of a Spectrum Summon!”, Ben roars. “If this were a fake card, it wouldn’t work on the Duel Disk! Now, I attack the phoenix with Spectrum Dragon! Rainbow Monochrome Blast!”, Adagio orders.
Nick: 4000 -> 3500 LP
“Augh!”, Nick grimaces. “Nick! Are you all right?”, I scream. “Yeah, Carrots, I’m fine.”, Nick consoles me. “And now, you take damage equal to half of the monster’s ATK in the Graveyard!”, Adagio sneers. “Pendulum Monsters don’t go to the Graveyard, they go to the Extra Deck!”, Nick counters. “Fine, I play a facedown card and end my turn.”, Adagio curtly says. “My turn! I draw!”, I exclaim. “It’s time for my Fluffal cards to create their ultimate form! I play the Magic Card, Insane Frightful Fusion! I send Fusion Monsters from my Extra Deck to the Graveyard as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon the most powerful Frightfur, Frightfur Chimera!!”, I shout.

“Frightfur Chimera, eradicate that dragon!”, I order. “Destroy, Spectrum Dragon!”, Adagio replies. The dragon beat my monster? “How?”, I sputter. “It’s my dragon’s special ability! It destroys monsters it battles before damage calculation! Now, you take damage equal to half the ATK of Chimera!”, Adagio tells me. My body becomes electric with pain.
Judy: 4000 -> 2600 LP
“I end my turn.”, I finish. “Not good! Carrot’s field is wide open!”, Nick exclaims.
“My turn! Draw!”, Sonata says. “I activate the Flute of Summoning Dragon! I can now summon up to 2 Dragon-types from my hand! Come forth, Ash-Eyes Ember Dragon and High-Flare Dragon!”, Sonata continues. “Now, when Ash-Eyes Ember Dragon is Special Summoned from the hand, he can call 2 more buddies to the field! I summon two more Ash-Eyes Ember Dragons! And now, I’m using my Level 8 High-Flare Dragon with my three other dragons to Composition Summon Ash-Eyes Inferno Dragon!!”, Sonata finishes.

It negates your direct attack and lets me add 2 Performapals from my deck into my hand with total ATK points less than or equal to the DEF points of your card!”, Nick screams. “Nick! I love you so much right now!”, Ben sobs. “Anytime, hot stuff.”, Nick compliments him. “It’s my turn! I draw! I activate the Mana Magic Card, Odd-Eyes Calling! It lets me add 2 Odd-Eyes monsters from my deck to my hand!”, Ben says. “Now, I use Dragonpulse Magician and Odd-Eyes Mirage Dragon to set the Pendulum Scale. Finish off Spectrum Dragon!”, Nick orders. “My Spectrum Dragon’s ability--”, Adagio starts to respond, but Ben cuts her off. “Can’t be used against Odd-Eyes Metal Claw when it’s Fusion Summoned!”, Ben shoots back at her. “Ash-Eyes! Get in there and protect Spectrum Dragon! Now, Adagio!”, Sonata orders. “I activate my Trap Card, Tyrant Wing! It increases the ATK and DEF of a Dragon-Type monster by 400 points!”, Adagio inserts.

“Oh come on! That was our one shot!”, Nick complains.
Ben: Performapal Odd-Eyes Metal Claw may have lost, but I’m going to use my Composition Monsters to bring the heat!
Ethan: It’s up to you and me now to save our friends! I’ll use my Turn Cancel card to buy us some more time! Even though Ben counters with Composition Summon, bringing out his newest Odd-Eyes card, Odd-Eyes Protector Dragon, Adagio’s Monochrome-Eyes Spectrum Dragon and Sonata’s Ash-Eyes Inferno Dragon are just too strong! I’m forced to use my Pixel HERO monsters to summon them onto my friends’ side of the field!
Judy: We’re counting on you, Ben!
Nick: On Ben’s last draw before Sonata and Adagio obliterate his Life Points, a miracle happens!
Ben: I’ll fight for my friends no matter how grim the situation looks! Next time! “Odd-Eyes Protector Dragon, the Composition Odd-Eyes Dragon! Appear, Legendary Dragon Critias!”. Duel Standby!

“Ben, Ethan, Judy, Nick. Sunset Shimmer sent me a message.”, Twilight tells us. “If you like card games, come to Canterlot High! We’re having a Duel Monsters tournament, hosted by our school’s superintendent, PVZBrony!”, the message says. “I’m unsure about this. What will happen to Nick and Judy?”, Ben frets as we stand before the mirror which will take us to the human world. “Aw, don’t be such a worrywart. We’ll be fine!”, Nick comforts Ben. “Yeah! Let’s get to Canterlot High!”, Judy cheers. We walk through the portal. Judy starts screaming. “Calm down, Carrots! This is a temporary thing. But... I see you still have your cute ears.”, Nick consoles Judy. “But Nick... you’re a human too!”, she yelps. “We don’t have time to freak out about this, guys! We have to hear the rules!”, Ben tells us. PVZBrony appears. “Duelists! The tournament listings are posted at the school entrance.”, PVZBrony tells us. “If you lose, you must give up a rare card and you’re out of the tournament! Only give up the rare card if you lose while not in the first round.”, he explains. The four of us take a look at the listings. I’m up against Snips and Snails! That’s totally unfair, a 2v1! Ben’s dueling Lightning Dust, Judy’s dueling Rarity, and Nick’s dueling Derpy.

“I end my turn!”, Derpy says. That Red-Eyes Toon Dragon looks pretty tough. Lucky for me, I have Pendulum Monsters on my side! “I’ll use Performapal Trampolynx and Performapal Lizardpaw to set the Pendulum Scale, and play Pendulum Shift, making Trampolynx’s Pendulum Scale value 1! Now I can Pendulum Summon monsters with levels 2 through 5! My monsters are ready... TO SWING INTO ACTION!!! I Pendulum Summon my 2 Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenixes and Performapal Cheermole!”, I say. “I end my turn!”, I finish. “I attack you directly with Red-Eyes Toon Dragon! Black Fireball!”, Derpy says.

“How...?”, I sputter. That attack actually hurt! “You don’t have a Toon monster, so I can attack directly!”, she says. Crap! I’ll lose! “I draw!”, I say. I drew Performapal Silver Claw. “I activate Lizardpaw’s special ability! If I have a Performapal in my other Pendulum Zone, I can destroy it to draw another card!”, I explain. I close my eyes, and draw my card. “I play the Magic card, Over The Rainbow! I can only activate it if my opponent’s Life Points are more than double mine! I can now attack your monster directly!”, I gloat. “Your monsters can’t beat me in one turn!”, Derpy nervously says. “That’s why I’m tributing my first Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix to make my other Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix gain 1000 ATK!”, I reply.
Performapal Odd-Eyes Light Phoenix 2000 -> 3000 ATK
“Now, I use the effect of Performapal Cheermole! If a monster’s ATK is higher than it’s original ATK, it gains 1000 ATK points!”, I continue.
